SOON. ‘No one Comes When You Cry’
Not a lot happening in this chapter. Just a passing point. One more after this then the epilogue. : )
Chapter 57 Plans Interrupted.
At dinner, Nina chatted quite happily with Draco while Narcissa shot looks at her, that if looks could kill, would have tortured Nina slowly before finishing her off.
Lucius, on the other hand, was extremely courteous and could not seem to do enough to make sure that Nina was comfortable. He bombarded her with questions, politely of course, showing her the utmost respect at all times. His behaviour incensed Narcissa and Draco was extremely worried.
Nina though didn’t give two figs what the elder Malfoy’s thought of her. She knew what Lucius had seen and done and she also knew that he was beginning to change his mind about which side he should be on. The fact that his change of opinion was based on his own selfish need to be on the right side at the right time, and to be seen doing so, mattered not to Nina. Narcissa’s open hatred of her made her a little uncomfortable but she refused to show it.
Instead she pretended she didn’t know that the woman disliked her so and kept shooting sweet friendly smiles at the woman. This incensed Narcissa even more, which in turn pleased Nina. As soon as the meal was over Narcissa excused herself to go and rage in her bedroom.
Draco and Nina were about to leave the room when Lucius asked Nina to stay and have a drink with him. He wanted a chance to talk to her on her own. Find out exactly what she was capable off and maybe even cop a feel if he played his cards right.
“Thank you Mr Malfoy but I don’t drink unless I’m with Severus. Besides, I’m here because Draco invited me. It would be rude if I was to stay here with you and desert him. I don’t think your wife would be too pleased about it either. The meal was lovely by the way. Goodnight.”
Nina took Draco’s hand and practically dragged him from the room before Malfoy elder could figure out if he had just been insulted, snubbed or just plain rejected. As soon as they reached Draco’s room and closed the door she turned to him.
“I’m sorry I spoke to your dad like that Draco. But I can’t be alone with him. It would be much worse then a few words if I did. Besides, he’s thinking about changing sides and it’s best if he does that on his own.”
How do you know that?”
“Same way I know what Scaly’s thinking. I found something else out as well and you’re not gonna like it.”
“And that is?”
“Tomorrow night. It seems your dad’s got the dungeon rooms ready for Scaly’s return. They plan on doing the initiations.”
“Oh shit.” Draco said automatically gripping his left forearm.
“Don’t worry. It won’t happen. I told you that before.”
“Why what are you going to do?”
“You’ll just have to trust me Draco. I’m going to bed I’m tired. Thanks for a great day and I’ll see you in the morning.” Nina gave him a peck on the cheek and disappeared.
As soon as she was in her room she snapped her fingers and Lucius cursed when his view of her room turned black. Nina appeared directly in front of Severus. He was sitting in his armchair next to the fire, a glass of brandy in one hand.
“You don’t look too pleased to see me.”
“I am extremely pleased, though not surprised. I have been expecting you.” He told her. “I also know why.”
Putting his glass on the table he stood and moved to the sofa, patting the empty place beside him.
“You know? But how?”
“The fact is I know. For now we need to discuss tomorrow night. You are planning on interrupting proceedings for the initiation ceremony. Is there anything I should know before you do?”
“erm. I don’t think so. Severus I don’t have a choice in this you know. It’s not up to me whether or not I do this so why are you talking to me as if it’s my fault?”
“I am not. But I am extremely annoyed at your little visitation to Voldemort’s bathroom today. I am even further annoyed at your blatant display of nudity in front of Lucius Malfoy.”
“If you know so dammed much you’ll know that I didn’t display myself to him. I didn’t even know that he was a Peeping bloody Tom until dinner time so you can’t blame me for that.”
“Fair enough. And Voldemort?”
“Oh it was only for a moment Severus. To convince Draco that’s all. Anyway how do you know all this?”
“I know everything you say and do. But since you have come to tell me everything anyway it is hardly relevant. I am not angry at you Nina. But I cannot help but worry about you, no matter how adept you are at dealing with the worst dredges of humanity that seem to throw themselves at you. Do you wish me to join you tomorrow evening?”
“No it’s alright. I just needed to talk to you. See you. My room at Malfoy Mansion is locked and warded and old slobber chops can‘t see into it any more. I could always go back in the morning. Draco wouldn’t even know I’d been gone.”
“Now that is the best suggestion you have made for quite a while.”
Nina grinned at him. “What? Even better then my suggestion about you picking your Stony Cors and leaving one behind so they’ll keep growing?”
“Very well, a close second.” He growled before picking her up and carrying her through to his bed.
Next morning Severus woke her up with a quickie before dashing to the bathroom to bring back one of the little green bottles. “What, don’t I at least deserve breakfast in bed?”
“Not if you do not wish the Malfoy’s to be suspicious. I know for a fact that Draco will wonder why you are not hungry when you go to breakfast with him”
“Blast I forgot about that. I’d best get back. I come home tonight and let you know how it went.”
Severus pulled her into a ardent kiss before letting her go. When Draco knocked on her door to take her to breakfast he was none the wiser about her little excursion.
“Come on Nina. Let’s eat and go out for the day. He should be here soon and I would prefer to be out of the house when he gets here.”
So after a hurried breakfast they tore out of the house and through the gardens.
“Where are we going Draco?” Nina wanted to know when they finally stopped running. Both were panting with exertion.
“I haven’t got a bloody clue.” They collapsed onto the ground laughing.
“How about Diagon Alley? I can get my supplies for the new term while we’re there.”
“Sounds okay to me so long as I don’t have to run anymore. I‘m pooped.”
That set Draco laughing again. “Pooped. That a new one.”
“Shut up.” She told him and they were in Diagon Alley.
“I’ll have to go to Gringotts first, get some money for my supplies.”
Nina wasn’t keen on that idea. She and Severus would normally just appear in her vault but Draco was already dragging her through the main doors.
“Maybe I could wait out here for you, Draco.” She suggested.
“What? And miss out on the ride. No way.”
“No. I hate those carts.”
“Well you must have used them to get to your own vault. You told me you have been in there quite a lot.”
“Yeah. But not by cart. I got there the same way we got here.”
Just then Severus’ voice entered her head. ‘Nina, whatever you are doing, stop and return to Hogwarts immediately. Bring Draco with you. I shall be waiting for you in my study.’
She turned to Draco. “Sorry Draco but we have to go. Something’s wrong.”
Before he could react she took his hand and they were standing before Severus.
“What is it? What’s happened?” She asked him straight away.
Severus ignored her and spoke to a surprised Draco.
“Mr. Malfoy. Would you please go to the Slytherin common room? You shall be staying overnight, the elves have been instructed to provide you with anything you may need. I shall speak with you later.”
Draco wanted to object, but something in the Potion Masters voice told him that this was big. So he simply nodded and made his way to the common room. Nina waited for an explanation. Her arms were folded as she watched Severus begin to pace the floor.
“Severus are you going to tell me or will I have to find out for myself.”
He ceased pacing and looked at her, studying her for a moment, his expression unfathomable.
“Come with me.” He stated, heading through the connecting door to her rooms. She followed and when he sat on the sofa she joined him. Albus was already there waiting for them.
“Hello Albus. Severus what’s wrong? What’s happened?”
“Nothing has happened. But it is going to.”
“You’re not making a lot of sense. What …”
“Tonight. It is to happen tonight.”
“What is? You mean the marks? But we already know that. I do …”
“No.” He turned to look into her eyes as has hands took hers. “Kali.” He called.
The elf appeared, her ears drooping and her face sad. “Miss Nina. You is come back.”
“Yes Kali but what’s going on?” Nina was getting agitated. Neither of them had told her a thing so far. “Is this to do with Scaly?”
“Yes Miss. Tonight you must finish.”
“Finish. Finish what. Am I missing something here?”
“Yes you are.” Severus told her. “We are not explaining ourselves very well. Tonight is the final confrontation. You are to finish Voldemort once and for all.”
“O shit.” Were the only words Nina could choke out. “But I’m not ready. I don’t know what to do.”
“You is ready. You will know what to do when the time is come. As with other times.” Kali inform her. Is no more waiting now. Tonight it must be done.”
“But why tonight?”
Severus spoke to her this time. “Because your ancestors deemed it so. I shall of course be joining you. You shall not be alone.”
She stole a glance at Albus. He was staring into the empty fireplace, a far away look in his eyes. “Albus?”
He turned to her sadly. “It is as Severus has said. It must be done tonight.”
Without a word Nina stood and walked to the door. She entered the dungeon corridor and closed it softly behind her. When the Potions Master was about to follow her Albus laid a hand upon his arm.
“Leave her Severus. She needs time alone, to think. She knew this would happen. It has just come a little sooner then she expected. Give her a chance to come to terms with it.”
He sank back onto the sofa, unable to speak. He wanted to go to her, comfort her. But he knew the old man was right. She was probably scared witless at this moment. ‘Bloody hell, he was scared.’
Nina wandered round the castle aimlessly. She had no particular destination in mind, she just mooched along to wherever her feet took her. Suddenly she felt trapped, closed in, even in this mammoth place. She needed some air.
As soon as she was outside Nina kicked of her shoes and strode across the lawns. The feeling of Fawkes landing on her shoulder caused her to slow her pace. ‘Tavin. Hello.’
‘You are concerned child. There is no need.’
‘Concerned isn’t the word Tavin. Try scared, terrified, panicking. What if something goes wrong? What if Severus is hurt? What if …?’
‘Your mate is protected, as you are. No harm shall come to either of you. You knew this time was coming. It is why you are here.’
‘I know Tavin. But I thought we had a bit more time. Tavin, is this the only reason I’m here? I … I mean after, when it’s over with … what then?’
‘That is up to you. Do what you have been brought here to do and all will be well.’
‘What’s that supposed to mean?’ Nina asked.
But Tavin was gone.
‘Do what I’m supposed to do and all will be well? What if I miss something? What if something goes wrong? How will I know?’
All these questions and more were running through her head and there was no one to give her any answers.
Her stomach began to rumble but Nina ignored it. She walked round the lake and along the edge of the forest as question after question poured through her head in a steady stream. After several hours of this she realised that she would not have any answers until the night was done and Scaly was defeated. As she turned to head back to the castle she bumped straight into Severus.
Hearing her thoughts and questions he followed her for the last two hours without her even noticing, so lost was she in her thoughts.
“Come and eat.” He told her softly. You need to keep your strength up.”
Nina wordlessly took his hand and allowed him to lead her back into the castle. They entered the Great Hall and Severus helped her into her seat before taking his place beside her. No one spoke. Albus informed the few staff present what was to happen. Draco was on her other side. He reached over and gave her hand a brief squeeze. When she lifted her face to him the concern showed clearly in his eyes. Her eyes searched among the faces at the table, each watching her and wondering how she would react.
She looked at Severus last and he drew her to him, his arms tight around her, his lips pressed to the top of her head.
“Do not worry little bird.” He whispered. “You shall not be alone. Together we will get through this.”
Somewhere deep inside herself Nina knew he was right. They would come through this together. They had to get through this.
“I know Severus. Thank you.” She decided there and then that they, herself included, were acting as if they had already fought and lost. But Nina didn’t want to feel like that.
“Right.” She said loudly, making everyone jump. “Let’s have our lunch and stop acting like were at a funeral. No one died and no ones gonna.”
With that she began to tuck into her food. It did not take long for the others to follow suit.
Albus, followed by Nina and Severus headed to his office after lunch and settled into the comfy sofa and chairs by the fireside.
“Nina would you mind looking once more to find out the time Voldemort plans to proceed with his initiation.”
“I don’t need to. Mr Malfoy already had that information in his mind last night. He’s starting at ten o’clock but the guests are gonna be arriving from seven onwards.”
“Very well. And what time do you intend to be there?”
“Severus and me will be there at six thirty. We’ll be invisible and waiting just inside the doors. Severus can you see into others mind as well as mine?”
“I can with the younger ones. It becomes more difficult with adults.”
“That okay. You can find out who really doesn’t want to take the mark and it’ll leave me free to send them back here.”
“Albus, can you have two rooms ready? One for those who don’t want to be one of Scaly’s cohorts and another for the ones who are truly dark. We can deal with them later. Oh and maybe some where for those families that will turn up but don‘t really want to be there. You know, the ones who are too scared to refuse him.”
“That should not prove too difficult to arrange.”
“Good. It’s gonna cause a bit of chaos when people start disappearing before their eyes but it can’t be helped. They’re safer out of the way.”
“And then?” Severus wanted to know.
Nina grinned at him. An evil glint in her eyes. “Then we go kick some ass I suppose. Well one in particular ass anyway.”
“But how are we going to proceed?”
“Severus I haven’t the foggiest idea. It’s like Tavin said. It’ll happen how it’s meant to.”
“Who is Tavin?” Both men asked at the same time.
Nina coloured up. She wasn’t supposed to mention Fawkes’ real name.
“No one.” She lied. “Just someone my dad mentioned once.”
Albus accepted her answer but Severus knew she was lying. Still, she obviously did not wish to expound on it so he said nothing.
“So now we wait. Do you need me any more Albus?”
“No my dear. But I shall be down to see both you before you go.”
“Thanks. I’ll see you later. Severus are you staying here?”
“I shall be down in an hour.”
Nina appeared in the Slytherin common room. She needed to talk to Draco.
“Nina. I hoped you would come see me. Do you want me to come with you tonight? If I can help I will.”
“No Draco. I don’t want you anywhere near your home tonight. I need you to stay here. There’ll be others coming. You can help the Headmaster with them. They’ll be kinda confused.”
“Nina my parents.” He pleaded. His voice was cracking and the words were almost choked out.
“Will be fine Draco. I promise they’ll be safe. I know you love them.”
“Thank you.” He told her as he pulled her into a hug. “Please be careful Nina. I do not want anything to happen to you either. You’re like the little sister I never had.”
Nina pulled back, tears in her eyes. “That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me Draco. It means a lot. Thank you.” Then she got a mischievous gleam in her eye. “But shouldn’t that be big sister? I’m a year older then you.”
He smiled. “No shorty. You’ll always be little.”
Nina’s eyes widened. “Shorty? I am not a shorty.”
“Yeah you are. Shorty.” He pummelled her with a cushion and it wasn’t long before the common room was filled with feathers from all the cushions they burst.
When Severus arrived to collect her his eyebrows rose.
“Ah. Er Severus. We were just erm …” Nina looked at him guiltily.
“Yes well clean this mess up and meet me in my study. Draco, the Headmaster would like to speak with you.” He turned on his heel and left the room.
“Go on Draco. I’ll clean this lot up.”
Draco didn’t argue and left after giving her one more hug. Nina waved her hand and the room was back in order. She headed out into the corridor to meet with Severus. She hoped he was planning the same thing she was.
‘I most certainly am.’ She heard in her mind. The walk became a run as she hurried to his study.
As soon as she entered she could see his eyes were darkened with desire. Her own were the same and without preamble he rid them of their clothes and grabbed her. Without a word he laid her down on the floor, pushed her legs apart with his knees and entered her smoothly as his mouth ravaged hers mercilessly.
Nina managed just enough coherent thought to cushion the floor beneath them before she lost herself to him completely. Severus worked his hips as mercilessly as his mouth as he drove into her again and again.
Nina reared up to meet each and every thrust, her own need as desperate as his. He lowered his mouth to one breast, running his tongue round the soft firm globe before sucking her nipple deep into his mouth. His teeth grazed the nipple as he released the suction then drew it in again. Still he plunged into her, the only sound from him being the grunts from his efforts as he drove them to the pinnacle they both sought.
It was not long before Nina felt the tight bud in her belly begin to soften and spread as her orgasm threatened to burst. Severus could feel the walls of her pussy begin to pulse and tighten as his cock expanded even more and his balls tightened unbelievably as both of them exploded together. He roared her name as she cried his when as one, they reached that summit they both strove to achieve.
They lay panting as they slowly came down, their first rush of lust sated.
Severus lay on his side, Nina facing him, one hand drifting carelessly over his skin. Her fingers moved to caress his back, travelling slowly down and then up the centre of his spine causing him to arch his back at the sensation. This in turn caused their bodies to come into closer contact and Severus began to harden again.
This time he pulled her up and led her into the bedroom. This time would be slower, more about love then lust.
