“Nate!” Melody yelled, streaking across the fields to get to him. She skidded to a halt with a deep scowl. “Nathanial Alexander Snape Lee!”
Nate paled a bit before pushing Ana behind him. “Mom?”
“What the hell did you do?”
Nate frowned. “What do you mean?”
Melody bared her teeth. “You could have lost control!”
Ana pushed past him. “He didn’t. I swear! He was… perfect.”
Melody softened, studying the pair before nodded. “I should kick your ass Nate, but I believe her.”
Nate rolled his eyes. “Sure. Don’t ask your own son.”
Melody sniffed. “My own son has vampire blood running through his veins. What the fuck happened to make you ignore my warnings.”
Nate’s face turned dark. “Triton has a taste for virgins.”
Melody scowled. “And you thought you’d remove the temptation?” He nodded. “The result?”
“Triton has agreed to gain an audience with his father,” Ana said softly. “We are to return in three days to explain ourselves and argue for our case.”
“There’s a catch,” Melody said with a sigh. “There’s always a catch.”
Nate nodded and drew Ana into his arms. “If we’re right… and the Gods win, we’ll get a boon.”
“If you’re wrong?” Melody asked through gritted teeth.
“We’re to serve Triton… for eternity.”
Melody grimaced and nodded. “Fucking Gods, always fucking entitled. It’s bad enough that they fucking own us. Now they want our fucking kids.” She sighed and shook her head. “What do you two want to do until you have to return?”
“Train of course,” Ana said with a lot more ferocity than she ever had.
Melody smirked. “Vampire looks good on you sweetheart. Very well then. Go train. Zach and Vi will probably give you a run for your money.”
Nate motioned for Ana to go on up to the house before turning on his mother with narrowed eyes. “You didn’t yell at him did you?”
Melody smirked. “Of course I did. Before.”
Nate rolled his eyes. “Probably killed the mood.”
“Of course,” Melody said with a grin. “That’s what mothers are for.” Her grin disappeared and her face grew serious. “All joking aside, that was very dangerous Nate.”
Nate nodded. “I know. I scared myself. I… I had to… to….”
“Bite her,” Melody said softly. “It’s okay baby. It’s part of your nature and you’ll have to deal with it.”
“Her blood,” he whispered.
“Tastes amazing, right?” He nodded. “Only hers… because she’s your mate. I am proud of you though. You did so well.”
Nate shuffled his feet in the dirt. “I couldn’t stand the thought-“
“Say no more,” Melody said. “That’s sort of the reason you’re here, right?”
Nate snorted. “I still hate it.”
Melody ran a hand over his cheek. “So do we sweetheart, but the alternative?”
“I know,” Nate said. “A lot of things are starting to look a lot less… horrible.”
Melody sighed. “It’s amazing what you get used to. Go on. Beat the hell out of your brother. You know you want to.”
Nate grinned and ran off for the house.

Hermione snuggled further into Draco’s chest as she watched the children train with the hundreds of creatures that had poured in the past few days. They were working much better together. But there was still something that was bothering them.
“Let’s go home and discuss it,” Draco sighed. “I think we could both use a drink.”
Hermione nodded and wrote out a quick note before folding it up and charming it to fly to Melody. Then she let her husband whisk her away to their home. They charmed the place clean for the first few minutes, not sure they were ready to have such a talk yet. But the dirt ran out and there was nothing else for it. Draco poured her a drink and sat down in their oversized chair. She curled in his lap and sipped it slowly.
“What bothers you most?” Draco asked quietly.
She stared at her drink for the longest time. “We had to combine our powers to protect the school.”
“You think we’ll have to do it this time?”
“How powerful are Gods?”
Draco frowned. “We’re like buzzing gnats.”
She nodded. “Hades was surprised, but he didn’t seem particularly scared. He was more concerned with getting caught.”
“So, if Poseidon and Zeus teamed up with the other gods against Hades… why do they need us?”
She shivered. “The Fates needed us to balance the world but this has transcended both worlds… and infiltrated all creatures. You know we could take them all out. But why us?”
“I don’t know,” he whispered. “But I have a feeling I know how it will end.”
“Let me see it.”
“Hermione-“
“No, Draco. You’ve kept the wall up since you saw Hades in Cygnus’s mind. I’ve left it alone out of respect for you. But don’t you think it’s time?”
Draco closed his eyes and put his lips to her temple. “Okay.”
He lowered the wall he’d been keeping up around his suspicions ever since he’d learned that Moira had more backing than a few misguided teenagers. It was a rush of the Gods, their powers, and how they interacted. Then he let her see the rundown of everything they’d learned about themselves and their children. It was a terrifying parallel. They had children with power over the elements, nature, and more. Combined….
“Oh Gods,” she cried, seeing the power they had all together. “We’ll destroy the world.”
“I think that’s why Hades called for a fight on the plains. But the Gods have never been able to defeat each other. They depend on each other for some reason.”
“Just like us,” she whispered.
“But they can’t combine power. Sweetheart, why would the Fates give all those powers away if they hadn’t seen a need for every last one of them?”
“Gods don’t deal with mortal problems,” she said, a hitch in her throat. “We take care of the mortals… and they are supposed to take care of the rest.”
“But they weren’t sure there would be an even match.”
“So they tipped the scales.”
They sat in silence for a long time, contemplating their existence. Finally, Hermione sighed. “I’ll miss them so much.”
Draco closed his eyes and held her tightly. “Now I know how Harry felt.”
“They’ll hate us.”
“No. They’ll understand. But the Fates will have lost their puppets. You know the family won’t agree to do their bidding anymore after this.”
“But we can stop it… once and for all.”
Draco nodded and picked her up, carrying her to the bedroom. “No need for balancers when you end the source of it.”
“You think it’s been Hades this whole time?”
“Yes. But the Fates finally struck back. They found the perfect weapon.”
“I love you.”
Draco smiled and sat her on the bed, laying down beside her. “I love you, too.”
“Have you updated the will?”
He nodded. “It will be split equally into fours with provisions for mother so she can take care of Addie Mae.”
Hermione frowned. “I want to see her again.”
Draco sighed and rubbed his eyes. “Now?”
“Sorry sweetheart. I just have this feeling.”
Draco nodded and got up, helping her from the bed and following her into the den to floo to the Manor. When they arrived, they noticed that the darkness from the wards falling had started to dissipate. How long had it been? They couldn’t even remember any more. Days had blended together into one long training session peppered with sleep and uncomfortable discussions.
“BWOTHER!”
Draco chuckled and picked little Addie Mae up as she plowed into him, spinning her around. She squealed and giggled, begging him to go faster.
“I thought I heard someone enjoying themselves way too much.”
Hermione smiled at Demitri. “I had to come see her. How is Narcissa?”
“I’m fine darling,” Narcissa said as she appeared in the doorway. “Just a little tired.”
“Too bad you can’t take a little kip,” Hermione said dryly.
Narcissa smiled and nodded. “Yes. I see Addie found her brother.”
“Bwother!” Addie giggled and squirmed so he would let her down.
Draco chuckled and let her go, watching her scramble through the house. “I missed you, too!”
“What brings you here darling?” Narcissa asked.
Draco walked over and gave her a kiss on the cheek and a gentle squeeze. “Just wanted to drop by and say hello.”
“You’ve lost your touch,” Narcissa sighed. “I can see right through you.”
Draco frowned and looked at her for a long time. “Mum… you know I love you, right?”
“Of course darling!”
“And you… if I tell you something you might not want to hear…”
Narcissa frowned and motioned for them to sit down on the sofa before she curled in Demitri’s lap on a chair. “I knew when I started dating Demitri that I would want to be turned eventually. And in thinking about it, I prepared myself for outliving my only son. But… it’s going to be sooner than a few hundred years, isn’t it?”
Draco grimaced. “If Hades has his way.”
Narcissa nodded, letting silence consume them for a while. “I won’t stop you. I’m not even sure I could if I wanted. But I will be there to fight. I didn’t let you face it alone last time… and I won’t let you this time. But I worry for Addie.”
“Don’t wowwy fow me mommy,” Addie Mae said as she skipped into the room, a ragged wolf doll in one hand and a vampire doll in the other. “I know Dwaco and Hewmimmy came to telled me bye. They awe thoughfuwl wike dat.”
Hermione held out her arms and forced back tears as Addie crawled into her lap. “You are such a lovely young lady. I bet you are going to make lots of little boys cry.”
Addie frowned. “No. I don’t wike boys. I fink I’ll make bampirws cwy. You awe tough if you make the shawp teefs cwy.”
“You don’t say,” Hermione said, stifling a giggle.
Addie nodded matter-of-factly. “Yep. Besides, you will make evewyone cwy and I don’t want dem to be sad fow no weason.”
“No reason?” Draco asked.
Addie nodded. “Dey will wike if I make the bad shawp teefs cwy.”
“You think you’ll be fighting?” Hermione asked in surprise.
“I haff to,” Addie said curtly. “It’s my futuwe. We awe all togever or we will nevew win. I will be sad when you splode though. But I pwomise I won’t cwy. I’ll be happy dat you awe fwee.”
Hermione choked back tears. “Thank you sweetheart.”
Addie Mae patted her cheek and leaned in close to whisper in her ear. “Sometimes… even though momma says it’s da end of da book… it’s not. Dewe is more stowy. She calls it a epiwogue. I wike epiwogues.”
Hermione gave the insightful little girl a kiss on her cute little nose and allowed her to run off and play. “She’s so wonderful.”
Narcissa nodded, a small smile on her face. “She’s everything I could want. Thank you both… for thinking of me.”
They nodded.
“Best be getting off,” Demitri said, his eyes fixed on the clock. “It’s almost dusk and we need to feed. Addie will insist on at least three books before she goes to sleep.”
“Night,” Draco said softly, giving his mom one last wan smile.
“Good night,” Narcissa said, standing and giving them each good bye hugs. “No matter what… know that I am so proud of you two. So proud.”

“Damn you’re beautiful,” Aiden whispered as he watched Zandra executed a beautiful sweeping kick before leaping in the air and kicking the ball he’d attached to a tree branch.
She blushed and stood back up. “I think I’m finally getting the hang of it.”
Aiden nodded. “That you are. And I think you deserve a reward.”
He had to hold himself back as she flew into his arms. He carefully kissed her, putting as much passion as he dared in it without letting his fangs loose. He always felt like he was walking a tight rope with her, destined to fall off the edge and hurt her. She’d proven that she wasn’t delicate, that she was capable of being intimate again, but he was still scared. She hadn’t had good experiences and he wasn’t known for being gentle.
She pulled back with a huff. “Stop treating me like a bloody doll!”
He shut his eyes and sighed. “It’s not you, Zandra.”
“Oh, it’s not me it’s you?”
He nodded. “It is.”
“Then you wouldn’t mind explaining.”
He opened his eyes with a frown. “I am dangerous. Surely you know that.”
She nodded. “I’ve seen you fight, Aiden. I’m not stupid or naive. I know you could do damage. But I trust you. You would never hurt me would you?”
“Of course not!”
“Then you have to trust me too.”
“I trust you,” he insisted. “Implicitly. It’s me I don’t trust.”
She frowned. “You don’t trust yourself?”
He sighed and plopped down on the ground, putting his head in his hands. “I’m practically a bleeding vampire. I’m stronger than you and even though I trust you to tell me if I’ve gone too far, I don’t trusty myself to stop when you need me to.”
She sat beside him and leaned up against him. “I’ll hex the hell out of you if you like.”
He barked a laugh and drew her into his lap. “I’d very much like it. But I’m not sure I would come out of it even then.”
She sighed. “You trusted Rhapsody.”
“She’s more powerful than I am,” he said softly. “And she wouldn’t dare touch me if she could see it ending badly.”
“If she saw us ending okay?”
He sighed heavily. “The future can change.”
She snorted and pulled away from him, walking away at a quick pace. “Fine. If you can’t touch me, I’ll find someone who can.”
“WHAT?” he roared, springing up and dashing over to her. “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?”
She spun to look in his eyes. “I thought you were different, that you didn’t care about what happened to me.”
“I don’t! I mean… I do… but-“ He pulled at his hair. “Ugh. I don’t care about your past. I care that you were hurt and it makes me sick to think that I could do the same thing.”
“Would you? Would you really?”
He swallowed hard. “Not purposefully. But I know it will scare you… how I get. Rhap knew what was going to happen and it still terrified her. But Zandra, you might have made your peace, but one stupid move from me could shatter that. And I couldn’t bare it. Don’t you understand? I’d rather die than hurt you… so I’m trying not to touch you so I don’t!”
“Coward,” she spat, making him reel backwards. “You’re just a bloody coward and a hypocrite. And you’ll never be any better because you can’t even trust yourself.”
“Vampires are brutal, damn it. They want to claim and bite and bleed and-“
“So,” she said softly. “What if I want it?”
“Zandra, you don’t know-“
“I know I want you,” she said softly. “I know your bite would feel amazing. I know you have control and I know without a doubt that if I so much as tensed, you’d throw yourself across the room.”
“But you will tense,” he said sadly. “And it would be awful.”
“When do you think I’d tense?”
“The moment my fangs came out to play.”
She looked at him a long time, staring at his mouth. “I’ve seen them before you know. I… I’ve always wanted to see them up close. Would you… would you show them to me now?”
He sighed and nodded, knowing she wouldn’t be swayed. Then he bared his teeth and allowed his fangs to descend. She squeaked, a natural reaction, but reached out anyway. He flinched and she shushed him, caressing his cheek instead.
“Let me touch them… please?”
“Um, you might… well, they have this-“
“I’ll climax,” she whispered and he nodded. “I… I’ve never…”
“Never?” he gulped. She shook her head. “Then no.”
Her eyes filled with tears “What? Why?”
“Because you deserve something real your first time, not a chemical reaction.”
She turned away from him, devastated that he’d turned her down. He pulled her back into his chest and kissed the top of her head. “I didn’t say I wouldn’t allow you to touch them. I said that I wanted your first time to be special, not some chemical induced quickie in the middle of a ranch.”
“R-really?”
He nodded and smiled. “Come on. We’ll go to the staff quarters. It isn’t warded. But Zandra, you have to promise me something.”
“Anything.”
“If I so much as move wrong, you’ll hex me so hard I’ll drop unconscious for an hour.”
She nodded. “Of course.”
They trudged to the staff house behind the Ranch house, making sure they were alone. Just as they reached the door, Rhapsody came bursting out of it.
“Shit,” Aiden snapped, holding his heart while his wand was aloft.
Rhapsody grinned. “Sorry. Had the same idea.”
Deven stepped out behind her, a smirk on his face. “Afternoon.”
Zandra blushed horribly and ducked her head. Aiden rolled his eyes and pulled her into his side. “All clear then?”
Rhapsody nodded. “Third door on the left, all clean and everything.”
“Go on,” Aiden ordered Zandra. “I’ll be there in a moment.” She gave him a searching look and he smiled. “Promise.”
She nodded and went in, looking around before finding the hallway that led to the rooms. Aiden sighed and gave Rhapsody a pleading look.
“You’ll be fine,” she said softly, raising a hand to touch his face. She went stiff for a moment before pulling back with a grin. “Better than fine. Actually, I think you two are the last hold outs.”
“Wait, Cadence beat me?” Aiden asked incredulously.
“She’s why we aren’t in the brush,” Deven said with a chuckle. “Even surprised Rhap with that one.”
“I’ll bet,” Aiden said dryly. “But you can’t tell me Lily and Cecil beat us.”
“No,” Rhapsody said with a chuckle. “That will be a few years… hopefully. But Rose and Hugo have you beat, though I might have to kill you if you say anything. Even your own sister beat you.”
Aiden growled. “I could have gone all year without that knowledge, thank you.”
Rhapsody shrugged. “The only one that seems bothered by it is you.”
“Why shouldn’t I be?” Aiden snapped. “I’m dangerous.”
“So are the others,” Rhap said softly. “Nate scared the hell out of himself, actually. But they didn’t let it stop them and you shouldn’t either. Trust her to know her limits and trust yourself to keep from pushing them. It’ll be beautiful, Fire. Just wait and see.”
“Joy,” he breathed. “What’s coming?”
Rhapsody’s face fell and Deven drew her into his arms. “We’re going to lose someone… and there is no stopping it this time.”
“Who?” Aiden breathed.
Rhapsody blinked back tears. “You know I can’t say. But if it’s you, would you want to leave this thing undone between you two?”
Aiden shook his head. “Suppose not.”
“Go on, Fire. Live your life… while you still can.”
Aiden nodded and kissed her on the forehead before going inside to get his mate. He’d make this a night to remember. And every night after this… for as long as they had. He didn’t know who they’d lose, but he didn’t want to die with regret. He’d hold himself on a leash of steel if that was what it took.
“I didn’t think you were coming,” Zandra said as he entered the room.
He almost swallowed his tongue. She’d taken the liberty of getting undressed in his absence. He felt a little pang of regret at that. He wanted to be the one to undress her, but the presence of all of her creamy flesh made his mouth water. In a word, she was perfection. Her ash blonde hair fanned out over the pillow as she peeked out at him. On her side, her arm covered her breasts. Her crossed legs hid the one place he wanted to be more than anywhere else.
“H-how could I leave now?” he rasped and stepped forward.
She pulled her wand out from under the pillow. “Kept it close… just in case.”
He smiled and shut the door. “Thank you. Are you sure you’re going to be okay with this?”
“I am,” she said. “I don’t think there is anything else I want more than this. Than you.”
“Thank Merlin for that,” he breathed as he cautiously crossed the room.
He sat on the bed and held out a shaking hand, wanting to touch her. She nodded and watched as his hand glided across her thigh, up her hip, and then up her back over her shoulder. He started slowly, memorizing every inch of flesh as she practically purred under his touch. He rolled her to her back, leaning down to kiss her everywhere he could reach. She started trembling and he pulled back so fast his head spun.
“I’ll stop,” he said quickly.
“No!” she said, scrambling up to hold onto his arms. “No. No I’m fine.”
“You’re shaking.”
She blushed beet red. “You overwhelm me.”
“I’ll stop.”
“Don’t,” she pleaded. “I… I like it. Look, I promised right?” He nodded. “And I’m fine. Trust me. I’m… I’ve never been better. You aren’t like them. You… you touch me so gently and you look at me like I’m beautiful.”
He smiled. “You are.”
She ducked her head and peeked out between her bangs. “Um… can I see you?”
Aiden smirked and stood, shedding clothes as quickly as he could without looking overeager. He didn’t want to frighten her but Merlin did he want her. His cock was already as hard as stone, weeping with the very thought of being buried inside her. He wanted to erase those other bastards from her memory. But he was still terrified.
“Damn,” she breathed, taking in his chiseled physique. Her eyes settled on his cock and her breathing quickened.
He quickly covered himself. “It’s okay. We don’t have to-“
“Stop,” she whispered. “I… I want to see.”
He slowly uncovered himself, his face heating up when she zeroed in on his cock. She licked her lips and he shifted, stifling a groan. He didn’t want her to know how badly she affected him, but she had to know. Especially with that mischievous little glint in her eye. She crawled over to him and sat on her knees at the edge of the bed, her breath ghosting over his eager prick.
“I think you’re beautiful,” she breathed and reached out, wrapping her hand around his swollen member. “It’s so big.”
He groaned in pain and pleasure. He wanted so much more but he refused to do anything she didn’t want. “If you want to stop-“
“If I did, I wouldn’t torture you like this,” she said softly. “I know what that feels like.”
She leaned forward and kissed the leaking tip, licking her lips to collect his flavor. She frowned. “It shouldn’t taste like fresh strawberries and cream, should it?”
He couldn’t hold back his laugh. “You’re part werewolf. Any bodily fluid is going to taste like that.”
“Not when I kiss you.”
He smirked. “Well, it does when I kiss you.”
“What… what do I taste like?”
“Peaches.”
“Huh,” she said and licked the head of his cock again, making him shiver. “Makes this easier.”
It took everything he had to stay still and not grip her hair. Her mouth felt amazing. In fact, he couldn’t even imagine she wanted to do this but he wasn’t going to complain. Or maybe he would. He wouldn’t last if she kept it up. He pulled her back, her mouth coming off with a pop that made his knees weak.
“Stop… stop.”
“Did I do something wrong?”
He shook his head. “This is about you, not me. And you are pushing me too close to the edge.”
“Sorry.”
He smiled and pushed her to lie back, scooting her up to rest on her pillow. “Nothing to be sorry about, love. I just don’t want it to end so soon. Let me take care of you now.”
He relished her gasps and moans as he worshiped her body before thrusting his tongue into her dripping entrance. She was so tense that he wanted to stop, but he had to trust her that she was okay with this. He held back, making sure that she knew that he loved her and would never hurt her. And eventually she relaxed, even bucking her hips to meet him. He chuckled and held her down, reaching his other hand up to play with her clit. She arched her back and started shaking. He gently pinched her clit and said a silent prayer of thanks when she went over. Her beautiful cry of ecstasy almost made him come.
“Oh Gods Aiden,” she breathed, still trembling as he lazily lapped at her quim. “That was… that was… wow.”
Aiden chuckled. “Now are you glad I didn’t let you touch my fangs?”
“I still want to,” she whispered.
He sighed and crawled up on the bed, lying down beside her. She turned and smiled at him, giving him a languid kiss despite her essence on his tongue. He almost lost himself in the kiss, too pleased with her acceptance to care. But she drew back and looked at him expectantly. He sighed and let his fangs slide down again.
“Just… don’t cut yourself on the tips please? I’m not sure I could control myself.”
She nodded and reached up timidly. The second her finger touched his fang, she moaned. He knew it wouldn’t send her over immediately since the tip wasn’t on her skin, but she’d quickly succumb. He enjoyed watching the awe on her face as the chemicals sent her into another orgasm. He caught her hand as it slipped with her convulsions so she wouldn’t cut herself. He knew he’d have to bite her sooner or later, but he didn’t want it to happen now.
“So, what do you think?” he asked after she’d had ample time to come down.
“I… that was amazing. But… but I think I like it without the fangs best.”
He smirked. “So you’re happy with my decision now?”
She nodded. “But I want more.”
He gulped and kissed her again, fighting with his nature. He wanted to plow into her and make her forget but she didn’t need that. So he forced himself to pull her on top of him. She would appreciate the control… and it would help him keep his head.
“What-“
He silenced her and motioned for her to straddle him. “It will be better for you this way. You can go as fast or slow as you want.”
“But what if I suck?”
He chuckled. “Trust me. You could lie like a limp noodle and you still wouldn’t suck.”
“You… you’ll help me?”
He nodded. “Always.”
She nodded and took a deep breath, shuffling to line him up at her entrance. At a loss, she shot him a pleading look. He smiled and grabbed her wrist, showing her how to take him in hand and guide him in. He let his hand fall and watched as she lifted herself up and slid down. The heat of her entrance shot through him like lightening. He put his hands under his head to keep from gripping her too tightly. She slid onto him slowly, cautiously, like she was terrified that it would hurt like last time. That hurt more than he thought it would. He knew she’d be scared and it killed him.
“C-can you help me?” she asked nervously.
He sighed and put his hands on her hips, helping her rise slightly before she sunk down further. She slid up and down a few times before he was seated fully inside her, holding her still so he could regain his control.
“Um… shouldn’t I move or something?” she asked shakily.
“Later,” he said through gritted teeth. “Let me… let me concentrate or this isn’t going to last very long.”
“Oh,” she said, blushing profusely and ducking. Her shifting on him made him groan and her squeak in surprise. “I can… I can feel you move.”
He laughed and savored her look of awe. “This is what you are supposed to feel like.”
“It’s… it’s…I didn’t think…”
“Are you okay?” he asked in concern.
She smiled. “I am. I just didn’t think it would feel this good.”
“It gets better,” he said. The momentary concern was enough to cool his ardor for a moment. “Just move slowly, get the feel of it.”
He guided her hips in a slow rhythm that had her panting in moments. He enjoyed watching her ample breasts jiggle and her mouth go slack as he managed to hit that certain spot inside her. She started moving on her own, speeding up and putting her hands on his chest for balance. He wanted to crow, to praise her, to turn them over and show her how good he could make it. He did none of that, enjoying watching her lose herself. It was amazing and beautiful and perfect. She started jerking and he knew she was close, so he drew his finger over her clit, sending her into an orgasm that had her eyes going wide and her mouth open in a silent scream.
He rode it out, turning them over when she collapsed on his chest. “My turn,” he whispered, pulling her legs up around his waist so he could get a better angle. He wasn’t rough, but he couldn’t hold himself in check enough and her squeak made him cringe and pull back.
“No,” she yelled, clawing at his back. “No, please don’t stop. I was just surprised. Please!”
He couldn’t resist when she begged like that. So he took a deep breath and thrust again, noticing that she squeaked again. He frowned and pulled back, pushing in a little sharper. Another squeak. He wanted to smirk. She would be a screamer and he wanted to hear it. He pushed her harder, faster, snapping and rolling his hips to make it as good as he possibly could for her. He could feel his fangs itching, wanting to end it, but he didn’t want it to end.
“More,” she groaned.
He lost it, thrusting wildly as she arched her back and started crying out in pleasure. He felt her walls clamp down on him and he couldn’t hold himself back anymore. He plowed into her, howling in frustration when his balls tightened. It was too soon. But he couldn’t stop and she wasn’t telling him to. She was babbling almost incoherently, telling him how amazing he was. It was too much and he whispered a plea to let him bite her. She stretched her neck submissively.
He sank home the same time his orgasm washed over him. The sensations of fresh peaches and the pleasure of his climax left him in a fuzzy haze, floating in bliss. He heard her screams as his fangs did their job, sending her over the edge at least once more. He couldn’t pay attention but he knew he had to stop. It was a herculean effort to pull them out and lick the wound clean. But his shock took over when he felt teeth sink into his neck. She’d bitten him! And he couldn’t be arsed to care as he grunted in pleasure. It was quick but amazing. Lights flashed and then the room spun. He managed to pull out and collapse beside her, gathering her into his arms as the blackness settled over them both.

“They okay?” Nate asked as Melody and Alex carried Aiden and Zandra upstairs.
Melody chuckled. “They’ll be fine. Their magic flared just a bit too brightly, took them both out.”
“We’re all ready then?” Anastasia asked as she followed them.
Melody nodded as she set Zandra down. “This is the last of them, besides Cecil and Lily, but that’s different. They’ve agreed to another blood brothers type ceremony which will suffice just fine.”
“So we’re free to go?” Nate asked.
Melody nodded. “Just… be careful. I really wish Draco and Hermione were here to see you off. If anyone could convince Poseidon of our plight, it would be those two.”
“Where are they?” Ana asked.
Melody managed a weak smile. “Reconnecting I’d imagine.”
Nate frowned. “You know something.”
Melody huffed. “I know everything.”
Nate shook his head. “No, you know something bad and you’re trying to hide it.”
Melody sighed. “Just focus on your task please? And for the love of the Gods, don’t antagonize Poseidon. He’s not quite as easy to shock as Triton.”
“How would you know?” Nate growled.
“Poseidon is one of the big three,” Melody said. “He’s been around a lot longer and he has seen a lot more. He isn’t as wild as Zeus or evil as Hades, but he has major pull. Don’t give in to him, but don’t be a wise ass either. He won’t listen if he doesn’t feel like he can take you seriously. He’ll see your insubordination as a waste of his time.”
“What would you have me do?” Nate growled.
Melody sighed. “Lay your story out, tell him how you know what you know, and then wait.”
“And if he refuses?” Ana asked quietly.
“Then you show him the extent of your powers,” Melody said. “Nate, you’re other form will help you. Find it if you have to.”
Nate sighed and nodded before grabbing Ana and disappearing downstairs to apparate back to the sea. Alex led Melody out of the room and into their own. He was quiet as they readied themselves for a long sleepless night of worrying.
“They’ll have to know,” he said finally.
Melody nodded. “But if they do, they’ll try to stop it… and that would be worse.”
“Is there another way?”
She shook her head. “No. Harmony and Rhapsody tried everything. Philippe conveyed everything he saw. It all ends the same.”
“We’ll win?” Alex asked.
Melody sighed. “It’s fifty-fifty and more of it rides on how Nate and Ana do than I’d like to admit.”
“Our son can handle it.”
“I know,” Melody said. “I just hope that fucking God can see sense.”

“Who do you think it is?” Ana asked after they’d settled in the beach house.
Nate fingered the charm on his necklace, contemplating sending a message to his brother. He was more nervous than he could possibly imagine. “I don’t really want to think about it.”
“Nate-“
“I said I didn’t want to, not that I didn’t have my suspicions.”
“And?”
He sighed. “I have a feeling there is a bigger reason for Draco and Hermione staying away than simply reconnecting. I think they’re preparing.”
“Oh gods,” Ana whispered, tears springing to her eyes.
“They are our best chance if Poseidon doesn’t pull his head out of his ass.”
“Excuse me.”
Nate cringed, noting the deep tremor in the voice that suddenly permeated the house. “Sorry Lord Poseidon,” he called, looking around to see a man standing just outside the house. He motioned for Ana to come with him and stepped out onto the porch. “But surely you’ve been told of our dilemma.”
Poseidon frowned and made himself at home on the porch swing. Nate pulled Ana down into his lap on the fold out chair and waited the God out.
“I have,” Poseidon said slowly. “But I do not see how this has come to pass.”
“Greed,” Ana said bitterly.
The God nodded thoughtfully and stroked his long flowing black beard. Sea shells and star fish tangled in it, making Nate wince at the thought of them scratching his face. He breathed a sigh of relief when Poseidon finally sat back up.
“Why don’t you start at the beginning….”
