"Okay, Hermione, I get how far you're willing to go to keep this atrocity a secret. Alright? I suppose I can respect that, but please, just... why?"

Hermione, Harry, Adrien and Luna sat in the Common room entirely too late talking to Ron. They decided they would all talk to him together, and hopefully he would understand. After much threatening from Adrien, he finally yielded.

"Just because. Okay, Ronald? I mean, I'm happy. Really happy. He makes me happy..." she said blushing.

"I really don't understand how someone so bland as Snape can make you happy." Ron fumed. "No offense, Adrien." he added quickly.

Adrien laughed. "He's not fucking bland. He's got quite a personality. You just have to really know him."

"That's not likely to happen is it?" Ron shot back darkly.

"Maybe not, but for her sake,-" Adrien began, motioning toward Hermione. "-you know she deserves it. And you know that you wouldn't have lived through finding all those pieces of Voldemort's soul if it hadn't been for her. In all fairness, you owe her too. You don't just owe her, she might as well own your soul for putting up with your bullshit." he added, laughing.

"Okay, yeah. Maybe I do owe her, but it doesn't change the fact that I love her." Ron said without really thinking.

Hermione sighed. "Ronald... You have Lavender. You made your choice in fourth year, so deal with it. My heart is elsewhere, and it's time you let yours be fully elsewhere as well."

"Lavender doesn't really make me all that happy." the red-head shrugged.

"Then perhaps you should move on, mate. Find someone who will." Adrien said, clapping him on the shoulder. "The year will be out soon, and you can go on with your merry little life, find a woman, start a family as big as your own, and things will be more than cheerful."

"Not to mention, I don't want children any time soon, Ron, and I know Severus probably doesn't want any more either. You've told me you wanted to have a large family, and I can't do that. I can't give you that..." Hermione told him, placing a gentle hand on his leg.

"So what is it then? Honestly, what is the pull toward an older man?" Ron asked, arms still crossed.

"It's not as if I'm just in to older men, Ron. It's not like that. Severus is just... Different for me. I know no matter what I say, you won't understand it, but I'd like to keep you as a friend. You've been very valuable to me over the years, and it would be a pity, if after the year is out, you never speak to me again. Is this what you need, Ron? Some sort of closure from what ever you and I might have had in the past? Is this going to help you get on with your life?"

"You don't owe me anything, Hermione. Just leave it, and I'll leave it as well."

"Ron.."

"No, Hermione. You deserve your happiness, like Adrien said. I'm not mad. I don't understand it,... But I'm not mad." Ron said.

"How did you find out anyway?" Adrien asked, unsure.

Ron shrugged. "Harry talks in his sleep." he said simply.

"Oh I fucking knew it." Harry piped up throwing his hands in the air. "I'm going to have to mute myself before I go to bed from now on." he laughed.

"Might be wise, mate. So are we all friends? Can we go to Slytherin house and do hard drugs with one another now?" Adrien asked them all playfully.

"Sure. But no drugs." Harry said rising from his spot.

"I was only kidding, you fucking sod." Adrien laughed, draping an arm around Luna's shoulders.
