Chapter 6

Harry smiled at Nannette, and then motioned for Charlie to step forward. "I'm sure that you already know Charlie," he said to her.

"Yes, the flame haired one is nicer than any of the others," she told them. "He is the only one of them that I trust with my offspring." She lowered her head and looked at the two men standing in front of her. "You are destined for great things, my dark haired son. You will be leaving us soon, and it will be quite some time before we see you again," she sighed. She stared at Charlie, "Your mate will need our help when the time to fight the darkest of battles comes," she told him. "You must help us to prepare, I will speak to the others and we will go into battle with your mate to destroy the evil that is growing stronger."

Charlie took a deep breath and stepped forward, "What do you need me to do?" he asked her.

"You will be my voice with the others, I will speak with the dragons," she said, putting her nose against Harry's chest. "My dark haired son will have the hardest job," she explained. "He will be the one to battle the Dark Lord, we will take care of his followers."

Harry rubbed her nose, "I know that I have to be the one to defeat him, it was in the prophecy that was destroyed in the Department of Mysteries the year before last," he told her.

Nannette looked surprised, "I did not know that humans had a prophecy about you," she said. "I only know of the prophecy that has been told to each of us when we are young. It is said that a raven haired man-child will come before one of us to protect his mate. When that happens, there will be a change in him. The light will shine off of him, making him glow to those of my kind." She glanced at her babies, "When you came to me the day after you saved the flamed haired one, there was a golden glow around you. I was the first to see you, so it is my job to protect you."

Charlie cleared his throat, "What do you mean, your job?" he asked.

"Our kind knows about the raven haired man, the first to see him is gifted with the job of protecting the savior of our kind. The Dark Lord is trying to use our kind to destroy, and kill. He does not care if we are harmed, you, my flame haired one do. You are our protector. You will make sure that only the best take care of our offspring while we go into battle, and you will teach everyone how to heal us if we need it," she explained.

"Great, now I'm not only the savior of the wizarding world, but the savior of dragons," Harry said, shaking his head.

"No my child, you are the savior of all living things. If the Dark Lord wins, no living creature is safe," she explained. She raised her head, "My flame haired one, you must go and bring all of us together, we must begin. My dark haired son will be leaving us in a few days, and I must be ready to travel with him."

"I think that I need to contact Dumbledore, if Nannette is intending to travel with you, he will have to prepare somewhere for her at the school," Charlied hid him as he walked toward the gate.

"You must both stay with me until it is time to leave," she told them.

Harry watched Charlie walk into his small cottage, "Who will protect Charlie while I am gone?" he asked.

"Do not worry my dark haired child, once the others have seen you, they will protect anyone that you ask," she explained.

Twenty five minutes later Harry and Charlie stood in the center of two hundred dragons. Nannette was speaking to them, most of them were just trying to catch a glimpse of Harry.

"We will need volunteers, to protect the savior's loved ones. He will put a spell on them that makes it possible for them to speak with you, and you will protect them from the Dark Lord's followers or anyone else that wants to do them harm," she said to the assembled dragons.

"I will protect his mate!" shouted a deep voice. The ground shook as the large creature stepped forward.

"Norbert?" Harry said, as he glanced up at the gigantic Norwegian Ridgeback.

Charlie laughed, "That's him alright."

Harry stepped toward Norbert, "You have grown a lot since I saw you last."

The dragon laughed, "I have met you before," he stated. "If I am not to protect you, I will protect your mate."

"Thank you Norbert," Harry said as he patted the dragon's large nose. "I will need four to protect where my loved ones live, three more to come to school with me to protect the loved ones that are at school with me, and a small one to protect a shop in Diagon Alley."

Nannette listened to the growing number of voices, "Norbert, you were hatched at this school that the dark haired one is returning to. You have told us stories about the man that took care of you, you should be one of the four traveling with him to the school. There will be more of us here to protect his mate than the rest of his loved ones."

"You are right, I shall travel with the savior to the school pro protect his loved ones there," he looked around at the rest of the dragons. "Let nothing happen to his mate!" he shouted.

A large black Hungarian Horntail stepped forward, "I remember you, dark haired one. I will protect your mate with my life," she told him.

That evening, Dumbledore arrived. After casting the spell on the headmaster, the three headed out to speak with Nannette.

"I have made all of the arrangements, the burrow will be protected by four dragons, the twins shop will be protected by one, and there will be four at the school. Hagrid is looking forward to meeting them," he told them, his blue eyes sparkling.

"We will be transporting the students, they will ride us to the school," Nannette told him. "I will not take the chance of something happening to the savior or any of his loved ones. Norbert, Opal, Brutus and myself will be taking them. They will ride on me, while the others protect us," she told the grey haired man.

"I can think of no safer way for them to travel," he told her smiling.
