"Did you find any good books?" Remus asked from behind his newspaper as Sirius shut the door behind him.
"A couple," Sirius muttered, dropping the bag on the dining room table by Remus.
"Did you see anybody from the past while you were up there?"
"No," Sirius quickly retorted. He fled from the room and ran up the stairs into the bedroom he and Remus shared. He collapsed on the bed and instantly fell asleep.
"Sirius?" Remus had followed Sirius up and stairs, finding him asleep on the bed. He sat down next to him and ran his fingers lightly over Sirius’ face, a smile forming on his lips. He laid down behind Sirius and cuddled up to him, falling asleep with him.
Sirius woke up near two hours later to find Remus sound asleep behind him. He rolled over and faced his lover, running his fingers through the gray speckled locks. He leaned forward and kissed him on the forehead, wanting to forget about what really had happened in the bookstore.
"Sirius?" Remus’ eyes fluttered open to Sirius’ pale blue eyes. "Are you alright?"
Sirius nodded, planting a small kiss on Remus’ lips. He leaned in again for a deep, passionate kiss with the man again, rolling on top of him.
"I’m so sorry," he whimpered, tears flowing back into his eyes.
"For what, Sirius?" Remus pushed Sirius’ hair out of his face.
"In the bookstore…I did see someone."
"Who?"
"Severus."
"Sirius-"
"It was my fault."
"For what?"
"For having sex with him."
Remus pushed Sirius off of him. "You did what?"
"I’m so sorry."
Remus was now nearing tears. "How could you, Padfoot?"
Sirius closed his eyes to try to hold back the tears and turned away from him.
"Look at me Sirius!" Remus yelled, grasping Sirius’ face and pulling it towards him. "What in the hell got into you in order to do something like that?"
"I don’t know," Sirius whimpered, pulling his head out of Remus’ strong grip. "I couldn’t control myself. All I could think of was you."
"So you thought of me while that asshole fucked you?!"
"It’s not like that, Remus!"
"So what’s it like? A quickie for now and hours on end some other time?"
"Remus, I love you more than anything in the world."
"You seem to show that quite well, don’t you Padfoot?"
"Moony, I am so sorry."
"I don’t want to hear it," Remus quickly got off the bed and locked himself in the bathroom.
Sirius crawled off of the bed and over to the bathroom. "Remus…" he cried, leaning against the door. "I’m so sorry. I love you so much."
Remus ignored him, tears having already soaked his face. He curled up in the bathtub, pulling the curtain shut after him.
"Please listen to me, Remus," Sirius cried harder.
"How could you have done this to me?" Remus called back from the other side of the door. "Did it even occur to you how it would make me feel to find out?"
"That was all I could think about. That is why I told you. I couldn’t keep it locked up away from you. You have no idea how bad I feel, Moony. I love you so much."
After noticing that Remus wasn’t responding to his cries anymore, Sirius got up and left the room, slamming the door behind him to Remus would know he had left.
