Last Chapter:
“Harry.” Ron jumped round, “how long have you been there?”
‘please have just arrived, please’
“Long enough.” Harry marched into the room, magic radiating off of him so strongly that the others felt like they were back at Hogwarts.
He walked straight past Ron ignoring him completely and came to halt in front of a very pale Sirius and Remus.
Harry spoke quietly, rage underlining every word. He was furious and confused. His eyes were burning holes in the pair, and if looks could kill, they would certainly both be dead.
“Would someone care to explain what the hell is going on?”
Chapter 6: The Awakening
Harry shifted his eyes from Sirius to Remus and then back again, his glare never ceasing nor wavering. He stood arms by his sides, his hands pressed into fists so tightly he was leaving half-moon shaped indents on his palms.
Sirius stood facing Harry, but not daring to look him directly in his eyes, he looked very uneasy at the way the situation had turned out, and as for Remus he stood arms folded over his chest, head hung, tears filling his eyes. ‘He hates us, I knew it’
“Harry it’s just…”
“Shut the hell up Ron, I wasn’t talking to you.” Harry snapped back at Ron; he would deal with the red headed boy later but right now, judging from the looks on Remus and Sirius’ faces, he was about to have a very interesting conversation with the two of them.
“Well,” Harry snarled through gritted teeth.
“Remus and I are in a relationship, so to speak.” Sirius began to explain
‘Yup I was right’ Harry thought ‘this is going to a fun, fun conversation’
Harry made no comment, just carried on staring at the pair, anger flashing behind his eyes. He wasn’t angry that they were in a ‘relationship’, just that he hadn’t found out about it till 2 seconds ago and that it had been Ron who had practically told him. How could Ron know first, ‘I’m his godson and yet he can’t trust me’
“Ron.” Harry growled turning to face Ron. Ron jumped about half-a foot, turned a ghostly white taking stepped back so he was out of reach of Harry’s fists.
“H- H- Harry,” He managed to stutter.
“Out.” Harry jabbed a finger towards the door. This conversation didn’t have anything to do with him, come to think of it didn’t really have anything to do with Remus either. ‘It’s not like he’s my godfather or anything’
He watched Ron leave the room gently shutting the door behind him, Harry turned to face the two marauders again, giving them both a quick look over. Sirius was standing, biting his lip, and Remus had tears silently trickling down his face. ‘pathetic’ Harry didn’t even consider that if the situation had been different he would probably be bawling his eyes out around now, and come to think of it they both did look really sorry. ‘Yeah, sorry they got caught’
“And you.” Harry nodded his head at Remus, who finally looked up, tears filling his amber eyes, he stared at Harry then looked to Sirius eyes wide. ‘he hates me, what have done’ Sirius opened his mouth to defend Remus…
“Har…”
“I want to talk to my godfather in private.” Harry’s eyes never left Remus as he accentuated the word godfather. That was it, Remus burst in to tears once again, and swiftly left the room, Sirius made to go after him, but Harry stood in front of the door, closing it loudly behind him. That wasn’t fair, Remus considered himself just as much of a godfather to Harry as he was and he had hoped that Harry had felt the same. ‘obviously not’
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Harry was reasonably calm now, and that was freaking Sirius out more than anything. Harry was usually so short-tempered, if something
pissed him off he would just rant about, but Harry stood, arms now casually folded over his chest, waiting for a GOOD explanation.
“I thought you would freak out, like you just did.” Sirius admitted slumping onto one of the beds back against the wall, head bowed.
“I didn’t know if you were against the gay thing or…” Sirius stared at Harry, hardly believing he was actually having this conversation with him.
“Why would I be mad at you for being gay?” Harry grinned and joined Sirius on the bed, leaning on his shoulder, Sirius tucked his arm around Harry and glanced down at Harry confused.
“I’m gay too, duh.”
“Oh, that’s different then.” Harry just laughed at Sirius’s expression.
“You were saying.”
“Oh yeah, uh, because Remus used to be your teacher, or…” Harry covered Sirius’s mouth with his hand stopping his tirade.
“I couldn’t care who it was, if you love them that’s fine with me.” He paused, thinking for a second before grimacing. “Unless it was Snape.” Sirius mirrored Harry’s look of disgust.
“Snape, yeuch, I do NOT think so.” He ruffled Harry’s hair, but stopped as Harry pulled away so Harry so that he was level with him, looking him straight in the eyes.
“What I care about is that you didn’t tell me, that hurts Sirius. I trust you, you’re one of the few people I can really talk to, one of the people who knows me better than anyone, but you didn’t even care about me enough to trust me, and you would rather tell Ron than me, and I just...”
And with that Harry gave a sigh and pulled himself out of Sirius’s embrace before he stood up and left the room, not even bothering to shut the door behind him.
“Harry, please,” Sirius pleaded as he watched Harry walk away from him, but it was too late, he had already gone.
“I’m sorry, Harry.” He pulled his knees up to his chest and laid his head in his hands and began to cry. For the first time since James had died he really cried, he had lost almost everything, and it hurt. ‘Please Harry, I’m so sorry, I do care, I do trust you, please’

Harry left his room and Sirius feeling empty, he was angry and he needed someplace to think. He paused his pacing of the corridor sighed and let the breath out slowly releasing a lot of his tension out, he looked up and came face to face with a smirking Snape and Ron who was unsuccessfully trying to sneak away without being seen.
“What do you TWO want.” He stared at Ron who froze and turned blushing.
‘Prat, does he really think I’m that stupid.’
‘yup stupid enough for him to know about YOUR godfather and you not find out, thicko’
“I have no business with you Potter, so I suggest you move out my way.” Snape sneered at him.
Harry stepped to the side holding his arm out to remind Snape which way he was going. ‘bastard’
Snape swept passed him with a flourish his robes billowing behind him, pure dramatics. ‘how the hell does he do that, must be some kind of spell’ Harry mused as he turned to face Ron who was smiling.
“Ha, for once he can’t take points of us...wahhh.”
Harry’s fist collided with Ron’s chin knocking him backwards. Ron looked at Harry one hand covering his chin the other held up in surrender. ‘Short-fuse, yeah I know’ Ron argued with his own mind.
“Some friend you are, you knew about them and you didn’t even bother telling me!”
“Harry, listen mate,” Ron tried to reason with him.
“Don’t call me ‘mate’,” Harry spat. Pent up anger was a terrible thing, you could keep it inside for so long until one day it just bursts out of you, and Harry had a funny feeling that was what was happening to him now.
Harry began to yell every obscene word that came into his head ‘that was for sending me to live with the Dursleys’ he was outraged ‘that was for my god-who-doesn’t-give-a-shit-father’ he finally finished with another swing at Ron who luckily managed to dodge this time. ‘and that was for my fucking parents’
He pushed Ron out the way and went into the nearest room slamming the door behind him, leaving a very pale and shaking Ron in the hall.
As he looked round the room his eyes adjusting to the dim lighting he saw none other than Draco Malfoy ‘sleeping! ‘I have got to stop running in here like this’
Harry slowly walked over to the chair he had left by the bed when he was in there earlier and sat down gazing at Draco’s sleeping form. Draco moved slightly in his sleep, a strand of blonde hair falling over his closed eyelids. Harry leaned over, and gently brushed it back so he could see Draco’s face properly.
“Like a fallen angel,” Harry absently noted.
Draco grinned inside his mind, yeah he was asleep but he heard that, ‘oh yeah, oh yeah’ He imagined himself jumping up and down like a lunatic chanting ‘oh yeah’ over and over.
Ok, now he was tired, not enough energy to stay awake and see what else Harry bleeding Potter could say about him. Just as he dozed off again he heard Harry sob ‘what the heck’s wrong with him’ he felt a sudden urge to get up and comfort him, like Harry had done before for him, but Draco’s body was too weak to respond to anything his over-active mind was telling it to do. And with that Draco fell into a contented sleep dreaming of how nice it would be to have Harry in his arms…

2 days later and things were exactly the same as before. Harry wasn’t talking to Remus, Sirius, or Ron.
Well something had changed actually, Ron had a huge bruise on his chin were Harry hit him. Remus spent most of his time in his room whilst Ron spent all his spare time with Hermione. (Harry had informed him that he would talk to him when he was ready to and that Ron under any circumstances was not to come anywhere near him until he was ready to talk to him) and as for Sirius he spent his time wandering around with a forlorn expression on his face giving Harry apologetic looks whenever he saw him. Which wasn’t really that often considering Harry spent most of his time in Draco’s room doing the rest of his summer homework, which Hermione had been repeatedly bugging him to do (he had spent a lot of time with Hermione whilst Snape was with Draco checking him over and such, but he always made sure Ron was not with her before he did anything, surprisingly Hermione had been cool about the whole situation and was still talking to them.
When he couldn’t concentrate on his homework he often found himself watching Draco sleep, he was meant to wake up today so he was refusing to leave; even a lecture from Snape couldn’t budge him. For some reason he felt a certain responsibility to make sure he was ok. ‘Weird’
pqpqpqpqpqpq
Harry sat at the newly placed desk in the corner of Dracos room, his brows creased in concentration as he struggled to finish a potions essay on a shrinking draught. Like he actually cared what boomslang skin was and what it could be used for.
He paused briefly to steal a glance at Draco who was STILL sleeping. God, it seemed like years since Draco had first arrived at Grimmauld Place, even though it was… Harry paused, counting the days off on his fingers… 5 days. ‘ Just under a week till we go back to Hogwarts’
Harry couldn’t help the twinge of excitement he got when he thought of going back to school; it was the first place he had ever really considered as home. A small smile flitted across his face and he shook his head, dipping his quill back into his inkpot, staring at the last few inches of the parchment, hoping that somehow the essay would just finish writing itself.
As Harry scratched the next few words onto the parchment, his ears suddenly perked and his head shot up looking over to Draco, ‘Sill sleeping’ Harry turned back to the parchment, all hopes of completing it now lost; he started rolling the scroll up ‘Who cares if it’s a few inches short, he’ll hate it anyway.’ When he heard something again, he looked over to Draco who was still sleeping, and lay his head down on the desk. ‘Going. Bloody. Mad’ Harry’s head shot up again ‘right I definitely heard something that time’ He walked over to the bed and watched as Draco’s eyelashes began to flutter open.
Draco used all his strength to open his eyes, as they finally managed to open he came face to face with none other than Harry Potter.
He groaned and snapped his eyes shut again. ‘Too much light’
Harry, as if reading his thoughts, shut the light off before going back to the bed, standing over Draco, his face looking concerned.
Draco struggled once more to open his eyes and sighed when no insufferable light flooded into the room. His eyes relaxed from a squint and he gave a small cough.
“Water?”
Draco nodded. He felt like he hadn‘t had anything to drink for years. Harry gently lifted him into a sitting position, moving the pillows so he could sit up properly. Harry poured Draco a glass of water from the jug on the night stand and held it to Draco’s lips, helping him gulp the cool liquid, and the glass was quickly emptied.
“Thank *cough* you *cough*.” Draco wiped a hand over his mouth, removing any stray water droplets he had missed.
“More?” Harry smiled as he began to refill the glass.
Draco shook his head, as Harry shrugged and placed the water on the nightstand instead.
“Feeling better,” Harry noted as he watched Draco shuffle about in the bed, straightening out the wrinkles in the covers without yelling in pain or wincing at the contact.
Draco gave a small nod but didn’t say anything. Harry suddenly felt rather uncomfortable. He was sitting alone in a room with Draco Malfoy. He gave a small sigh and turned to look back at Draco, he blinked as he found himself staring into his silver eyes.
“Ummm.” Harry began and Draco looked away. ‘Shit, was I just staring at him’
“I’ll go and get Snape.” Harry stood, and walked to the door, but just as he was about to pass through it he turned.
“Uh, Draco.” Draco lifted his head to lock his eyes with Harry’s once more.
“I don’t know why, but I’m glad you’re ok.” He watched as Draco’s mouth turned up into a smile, a real smile. Never before had he seen Draco smile. It looked good on him.
“You should do that more often,” he commented.
“What?”
“Smile,” Harry replied, before disappearing out the door.
Draco lay back against the pillows, a broad smile creeping across his face ‘this might not be that bad after all’
Harry made his way down the stairs to the main corridor, stopping at Snape’s room (which he had only been given because after Draco came, he had taken to sleeping on the couch and kept scaring the lives out of people when they tried to sit down ) and knocked on the door.
“Sir.” *knock* “Professor.” *knock*. Harry stood outside the door for a good 10 minutes, ‘Stupid slimy git’ he thought as he kicked the skirting board to pass the time.
Finally he came to the conclusion that either Snape wasn’t in his room, or he didn’t want to talk to Harry. Harry thought the second one was probably the more likely of the two as Snape had hardly left his room except to check on Draco, and he wasn’t in Draco’s room because he had come from there so Harry took a deep breath knocked on the door one more time and in a fairly loud voice, just to make sure Snape could here him he announced…
“Professor, I’m coming in I need to talk to you about… um…you-know-who.”
He pushed the door open ‘shoot I knew it would be locked’ forgetting completely that Snape was not the sort of man ‘You sure he’s a man, more like a freaky outer space demon ass’ who left his door unlocked. Harry pulled his wand out and muttered a few spells he had heard Snape produce earlier that day, and was very surprised when the door swung open. He poked his head warily round the door and just stood gob-smacked. Obviously Snape had found the time to decorate his room and now it was painted in the Slytherin colours (of course) but with a sort of gothic edge to it, Harry hated to admit it but the man ‘still not sure on the man thing’ okay, dude, had style.
“Okay, so he’s not here.” Harry mumbled in an under tone just in case Snape was in the room heard his speech and jumped out hexing him at the same time.
“In that case he must be downstairs.” ‘SHIT not good how the hell am I going to explain the whole Draco thing to Snape with everyone sitting round the dinner table listening to the conversation’ Things had just got a whole lot more complicated, Harry sighed, shut the door, and made his way across the hall to the door which led to the kitchen.
As he entered the kitchen the first thing that hit him was the noise; he had been sitting upstairs in the quiet for so long he had forgotten how loud the Weasley family could be when they all got together.
Harry spotted Snape sitting on a chair in the corner of the kitchen surveying the scene with intense disgust, Harry wondered why he was even down there if he thought they were that bad, he spotted Snape glare at Molly Weasley and fought back a laugh. She had probably dragged him down to eat some of the dinner she had just finished making; even Snape knew better than to disagree with Molly Weasley. He was about to sneak across the kitchen hopefully without getting spotted when the Weasley twins spoke up.
“Well, we will have to talk to Harry about that.” The comment was greeted with a round of confused faces, not many people knew (in fact the only three people that knew were the twins and himself) that he gave the twins the money to start Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. ‘Oh well’ he took a step forward and froze when the room fell silent.
“Alright mate.”
“Ron.” He nodded his head at Ron acknowledging him and then moved swiftly to Snape before Sirius decided to say anything.
“Professor, I uh, well its, uh, you see the thing is, um.” He wasn’t sure quite how to explain it now that everyone in the room was listening to him, apparently seeming to be having a civil conversation with Professor Snape.
“As eloquent as always Potter.” He sneered. He had been spending far too much time with Draco. Ah back to the subject, Draco.
Harry sighed leaned in slightly moved back again. ‘Too close I’m getting oily just standing near him’
“Thingy.”
Snape gave him an odd look at that. Harry widened his eyes and gave Snape’s leg small kick.
“I know who thingy is thank-you.” He said placing his feet out of Harry’s reach, and looked at his expectantly, it was the look he gave him in class when he asked Harry a question he knew he didn’t know the answer to and was just waiting for him to make a fool of himself.
“Well, he’s, well he’s not asleep any more.” Snape jumped up and rushed out the door, pushing Harry back against the wall. ‘I really wish he’d stop throwing me around, he’s been doing that a lot lately’
Harry turned to and met Sirius’s pleading eyes.
“Black.” He nodded at Sirius and turned, marching out the door, which was still open after Snape’s quick exit.
Sirius watched Harry turn his back on him and walk out the door, and he gasped a few times, trying to hold back the tears that were now threatening to fall. He looked up only to find everyone apart from Ron and Remus staring at him eyes wide chins on the floor.
“Have you two had an argument, dear?” Molly questioned, breaking the silence.
“Something like that, you know what I’m not really hungry anymore, and I think I’ll just go upstairs.”
“Sirius…”
“No Remus, it’s ok. Goodnight everyone.”
He turned is back and left, fleeing to most unused part of the house, which hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned yet. He slammed the door behind him, tears streaking down his face, and after placing a series of locking spells and charms on the door he collapsed against the wall and cried himself to sleep. ‘He hates me’
pqpqpqpqpqpq
Harry watched as Sirius ran out of the kitchen and felt his heart clench. He was sitting at the top the top of the main flight of stairs peering out from behind the banisters, he watched as the tears began to streak down Sirius’s face ‘I can’t believe I was such a bastard to him; ‘Black’ that was just fucking mean. I can’t believe I said that to him. I’m such a dick’
After Sirius had disappeared down some long forgotten corridor Harry hauled himself to his feet and went to check on Draco whilst still trying to think of a way to make up with Sirius and Remus.
