Chapter 5:Spread Your Secrets,
Share Your Burden
Severus simply could not wrap his
mind around what he had just heard.
There were two of them, two
Potters! He had nightmares about
things like this happening. The worst
part was the little voice in the back of his mind demanding to know why this
information had been kept from him.
Dumbledore had to have known. He
had been humiliated and tortured for that man.
He spent years teaching in a position that he did not want for that
man. He bled, begged, and killed all in the name of Albus
Dumbledore’s cause, but for some reason he had not been told that Potter had a
twin sister. The little voice spoke up
again, reminding him that he had been
quick to think she looked like Lily. It
was true, but the hair really did change the overall image. Just a little bit of James ruining things
again, he supposed.
All
around him the clearing was erupting in cries of indignation, mostly from the
younger members who were still in school with Potter number one. Some of the members of the inner circle were
trying to contain the lesser members, but for the most part, they were too busy
themselves seething in rage. It did not
take a genius to see that the girl was definitely in favor. A shriek of rage broke through all other
noise and everyone turned just in time to see Bellatrix throw a curse at Eris.
“Protego!” Eris
deftly blocked the attack and then countered.
“Expelliarmas! Incarcerous!”
Within
moments of Bella’s initial curse, the crazed witch was lying bound and wandless
on the ground. Everything went quiet as
the group waited to see whom the Dark Lord would punish for this out
burst. The majority were quite surprised
when all he did was release a cold chuckle and led the girl to stand beside him
as he sat on his throne.
“Bella would be the one to go into a jealous
snit over that little girl,” said a familiar drawl from beside him.
Severus smirked in an attempt to
cover up his mild displeasure.
“Lucius. I see all the bribes
finally paid off.”
The tall,
blond wizard turned up his nose a bit at the word ‘bribe’. “By calling in a few favors I was able to prove to the Ministry that I was being held
under the Imperius Curse.”
“Ah.
And how will you explain to them you current presence?” What Severus really wanted to know was how
the elder Malfoy was still in one piece considering his and Draco’s combined failures?
Lucius turned to face him then and
Severus gazed into his cold silver eyes trying to determine why the man seemed
so smug. “There are some gifts that will
save you from anything no matter how far in the past the giving occurred.”
Severus was kept from questioning
Lucius further when Voldemort’s angry voice called out across the
clearing. “All of you incompetent
imbeciles had best learn from Eris’ example!
I expect Draco to be found and brought before me bleeding and
begging! Now all of you get out of my
sight!”
The crowd
quickly began to clear, but Severus found himself reluctant to leave for the
first time. He needed to find out what
the bloody hell Potter’s sister was doing consorting with Voldemort. No doubt, Dumbledore, Potter Sr. and Lily
were all rolling in their graves.
“Severus, Lucius,” Voldemort called out. “Both of you will stay for a moment.”
Severus made his way through the
departing Death Eaters to stand in front of his supposed master. Eris had moved to kneel beside the throne,
her face an impassive mask as the dark wizard carded his fingers through her
hair. He was struck again by how
impossible the situation seemed. Here
the sister of The-Boy-Who-Lived sat appearing to be loyal to Lord Voldemort,
but in her home, she harbored the very wizard her master was searching
for. Was it just because of her oath
that she protected Draco? The
information he needed in order to understand was not yet his, but he would get
to the bottom of things. He wasn’t a spy
for nothing. He bowed deeply and then
stood waiting as Lucius copied his movements.
“Lucius, I will once again tell you how
pleased I am with your gift,” Voldemort said with a charming smile that did not
reach his eyes. “It has proven most
useful over the past two years, as I’m sure you can see.”
Lucius bowed again. “I live to serve you, my lord.”
“Yes, if not for your gift we would never have
learned Potter’s little secret.” The
wizard closed his red eyes and left out a short, derisive laugh. “The boy will certainly be getting a surprise
on his birthday. With any luck, it will
leave him just unbalanced and vulnerable enough to weaken him to an
attack. If not, there will undoubtedly
be another opportunity not long after.
Nothing, not even his inheritance, will give him the strength to defeat
me.”
“Of course not, my lord,” Lucius agreed. Severus sneered behind his mask. Lucius Malfoy, so great in his arrogance,
would agree to anything this lunatic said to stay alive and avoid torture.
Voldemort ran a pale finger down
the Eris’ cheek. “If all goes as I have
planned, I may share certain spoils with you.
Certain pleasures you have
earned.”
Severus watched as Eris tensed
almost imperceptibly. If Voldemort
noticed, he made no comment. Was the
girl the reward he spoke of?
“You may leave, Lucius.”
The blond
wizard bowed and then swept away with the smug look once again on his
face. Severus stood silently, trying to
exude calm. Would Eris be replacing him
as the Dark Lords potions producer? If
so, where did that leave him? He was no
longer a spy, and while that did not mean he was without his talents,
decreasing in worth usually equaled death.
“Severus, I hope that you have been
comfortable with Eris.”
There was
his opening. With so few words, the girl
would be dead or worse and his position would be secure for his purposes. Still, if the girl was dead or impaired by
Imperius then she couldn’t spill her secrets to him. It irked him that she sat there seeming so
calm and uncaring, as though nothing she had done would earn her more than a
stern word and a slap on the wrist. Of
course, he could always rat her out after he solved his mystery.
“Quite comfortable, my lord,” he said
smoothly. “She has most ingenious
methods for hiding things.”
“Excellent. And has there been any sign of Draco?”
Eris laughed. “You are toying with him. He knows that I know where Draco is.”
Severus froze. Was the girl insane? Voldemort jerked Eris to her feet and held on
tightly to both her arms. “Yes, but he
could have told me that, my pet. We must
cure you of this impatience. So,
Severus, you’re the one who did so much damage to the boy. I delighted that you managed so well. It is a pity that Eris was able to step in
just in time to save him. I suppose he’s
at Hogwarts then, lovely?”
Eris opened her mouth to speak,
but Voldemort press one, long finger to her lips. “Now, now, precious, you know that you have
to keep your oath. Just remember that
you belong to me in the end.”
“Shall I keep my eyes open for him, my lord,”
Severus asked carefully. Partial truths
and hidden lies. The girl had set the
entire attack up with near perfection to favor them both. Was she protecting him or was this just some
sort of ploy to gain his cooperation?
“If you notice him I wish to be told, but I
have other things for you to focus on.”
He sat back in his throne and shoved Eris towards Severus. “Eris is talented in her brewing, as you have
witnessed here tonight, but she lacks a certain creativity that I have grown
fond of in your own work. I wish for you
to teach her.”
Severus bowed and slowly pulled
the girl to his side. “Whatever you desire,
my lord.”
“You are both dismissed,” Voldemort said with
a wave of his hand. “Eris, you will obey
Severus in all things. Perhaps he can imprint some of his patience
upon you.”
Severus pulled the girl across the
clearing to the apparition point. Was
the man insinuating what he thought? He
had no doubt that he was indeed meant to improve the girl’s potions work if
possible, but the insinuation of the patience was something else entirely. He was once again struck by how beneficial it
was to be in favor.
_______________________________________________________________________
Eris maintained her outward calm
as Severus pulled her along, but inside she was seething. Was she to be offered up to every Death Eater
who showed interest? Her body was never
part of the original bargain she made, but it had not taken long for Eris to
realize that she would be used for whatever Voldemort desired. The potions had not been so bad, or at least
no worse than what she had initially offered anyways. Could anything be worse than betraying her
own flesh and blood?
Her mind
was reeling. Lucius she could
avoid. It was obvious that he was only
to be allowed access to her after the Dark Lord’s total victory. Snape, however, was another matter. She was being given to him now to “teach her
patience”. That was just wonderful,
especially since she had no idea if the man would actually take what had been
given to him. More importantly, what was
going to happen now that he knew whom she really was?
“I am going to apparate us to the gates,”
Snape said calmly.
She
wished he wasn’t wearing his mask or that she still wore hers. Her façade of indifference remained in place,
but she longed to chew on her lip or even just wrinkle her nose at the
distasteful thoughts that were running through her mind. Holding firmly to Snape’s arm, she closed her
eyes as she felt herself being compressed and then expanded. As soon as the process was finished, Snape
flung her aside. Things were not looking
good for her in that moment.
“We are going to have a very long talk, little
girl,” the man said with a sneer. “Just
when were you going to tell me that you are Potter’s sister, his twin even?”
Eris swallowed hard. “I wasn’t supposed to tell anyone.”
“How long have you been going to him?”
“Almost two years. I offered my help not long after he
returned,” she said calmly.
“Lucius,” Snape spat out. “Am I right in assuming that you are the gift
that Lucius presented?”
“Yes.”
Eris closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “He came looking for Felicity, saying that he
had business to tend to with her. When
he realized that I was alone in the house he pulled me outside and began
probing me with questions.”
When she looked up again, Snape’s
eyes were narrowed. “What happened?”
She
closed her eyes again and let the memory wash over her.
****
“What do you know of Lord
Voldemort?” Lucius Malfoy’s voice was
low, his tone cold.
Eris shivered at the thought of the creature that killed her
parents. True, they had abandoned her,
but they were still blood. “I know
enough.”
The blond wizard chuckled. “I’m
sure you think you do. Tell me, have you
heard the rumors of his return?”
She nodded. “I read in the papers
that Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore are trying to convince people of
that. The Ministry says they’re crazy.”
“What if I told you it was true
and that he is looking for your guardian’s cooperation?”
“Felicity will never help him,”
she spat.
Eris gasped as Malfoy grabbed her by the front of her robes and pulled
her nose to nose with him. “She will do
what he asks or she will die. What do
you think of that?”
“He can’t!” Her eyes were wide with horror. This couldn’t be right. They were safe in the manor, wasn’t that what
Felicity always said? Wasn’t that why
she was sent to live there in the first place?”
“Oh he can, little girl, and
then there will be no one to protect you.”
He released her and took a step back.
“Perhaps you can persuade her to see reason.”
Eris closed her eyes and shook her head. “She would rather die…but…”
“But
what?”
“But then I would be all alone,”
Eris whispered. She was close to tears
and damning herself for feeling so weak.
There had to be something she could do, something she could offer.
“Well, I suppose you should get
use to the idea then,” the wizard said cruelly and turned to leave.
“Wait!” It had to work. She had an offer and she didn’t care if it
cost her soul in the end. Felicity
couldn’t die. She was the only one who
cared about her. “Can you take me to
him?”
Malfoy turned and seemed genuinely surprised. His shock quickly turned into a look of
condescending disgust. “Why would he
bother with a child like you?”
“Because there’s something I can
give him, something he values more than Felicity.”
“Really, and what would that
be?”
“I can give him Harry Potter.”
****
“You offered you brother,” Snape asked in a
disbelieving tone.
Eris nodded. “I know how it seems, but I held no love for
him. I was barely indifferent to
him. Most of the time it took all my
energy not to hate him.”
“Why?”
“Because they chose him over me when push came
to shove. True, it did him little
good in the end when they died, but my parents cast me aside for him. That’s why I’m here,” she said, motioning to
Prince Manor. “Dumbledore gave me to
Felicity to keep safe.”
“And that worked so very well,” Snape said
sarcastically.
Eris shrugged. “May we go inside to finish this? Its getting rather late and I still need to
fix Draco and give him the potion.
Besides, he should hear some of this.”
“Very well,” Snape said with a scowl. Eris stood and began to make her way to the
secret passage, but Snape grabbed her arm.
“Does Draco know that you’re Potter’s sister?”
Eris sighed. “No, and I would like to keep it that way for
a bit. He’s not well yet and I’m sure
you can imagine how he will react.”
Snape nodded and motioned for her
to continue. Once they were back in her
rooms, Eris quickly gathered the potion that would allow Draco to see Snape
through the invisibility potion. She
reminded Snape to take said potion and then stepped behind a changing screen to
don her nightclothes. It wouldn’t do for
Felicity to catch her walking the halls fully dressed at this time of
night.
She led Snape
out of her rooms and down the halls to where Draco slept. Once inside she put strong locking charms on
the doors and move to sit on Draco’s bedside.
As soon as Snape joined her on the opposite side of the bed she cast a
silencing bubble around the three of them.
Leaning towards her friend, Eris gave the blond boy a light shake.
“Draco, I need you to wake up for a little
while,” Eris said urgently. She wanted
this over with and walls between her and Snape.
“Draco, wake up!”
The young
wizard bolted upright and Eris had to suppress a laugh. “What is it?
What’s wrong?”
Eris ran her hand soothingly up
and down Draco’s arm. “Nothing, Draco, I
just need to fix something for you. It
will only take a minute.”
Taking advantage of the boy’s
semi-aware state, Eris wordlessly cast Legilimens and began to reinsert all his memories of what
actually happened between the time Snape left Draco in the field the night of
Dumbledore’s death and being attacked outside the gates of Prince Manor. When she withdrew from his mind, Draco’s eyes
were wide and glazed. Soon he began to
blink and then shook his head.
“Where is he?
Is he all right?”
Eris nodded. “He’s right here with us you just need to
take the potion.”
She
handed him a vial and he threw back the contents with a grimace. After a few seconds, he began to look around
and gave a little start when he saw Snape sitting on the edge of his bed. “I take it our plan went well?”
“Very well,” Snape said quietly. “However, it seems that there is some
important information that Eris neglected to tell us.”
Draco eyed her with wary
concern. “What is it, Eris?”
Eris closed her eyes, took a deep
breath, and began to retell everything she had revealed to Snape before entering
the house. She couldn’t bear to look
Draco in the eye, afraid to see the distrust and disgust that was sure to
reside there. As her words slowed down,
she was surprised when Draco took her hand loosely in his, but still did not
look up.
“After…after certain arrangements were made
your father agreed to take me to see the Dark Lord,” Eris said quietly, unable
to bare telling him the true price that his father had
asked. “I was terrified when I first
faced him, but not for myself. All I
could keep thinking was that he was just going to laugh at me, kill me, and
then go after Felicity anyway.”
Draco’s hand on her own
tightened. “That bastard! I can’t believe he did this to you. It wasn’t enough that he dragged me into this
mess?”
Eris looked up in shock. Her voice was a harsh whisper when she
spoke. “I did this to myself,
Draco. I knew what I was doing.”
“Did you really,” Snape asked doubtfully. “Did you really have any idea what would be
asked of you?”
Eris fought against the blush that
threatened to give her darker secrets away to Draco. “I meant that I knew what I was
promising. I was selling my soul and at
the time I didn’t think anything else could be worse than that. In the beginning I was too naďve to realize
that the Dark Lord would continue to demand more and more from me in return for
what he was giving me. He was keeping
Felicity safe and knew that was priceless to me.”
“What did you promise him,” Draco asked with a
frown.
Eris closed her eyes and chose her
words carefully. “I promised him many
things that, in retrospect, really weren’t mine to give, but I did offer him
one thing that belongs only to me. I
offered myself and the power that I knew I would inherit on my seventeenth
birthday. I offered to use my special
skills to bring Harry Potter to the him and help him win the war.”
Draco now looked very
confused. “I don’t understand. I know you’re fairly powerful and very
intelligent…but what do you have that would make him consider you more
important than any other Death Eater.”
“Hereditas Numinis Pumilum,” Eris
whispered and looked away from the shock that fell over the two men’s
faces. Now they understood the true evil
she was doing.
Snape was the first to speak
again. “The
Inheritance of the Elf? You’re
certain of this?”
Eris nodded. “Yes, sir.
I am a Numen Pumilum, an elf in laymen’s terms, but so much more than
that really.”
“What do you mean,” Draco asked softly. “I admit that I don’t know very much about
this.”
She
allowed herself a small smile then. She
could probably count on one hand the number of people that Draco Malfoy would
admit ignorance to. “Really all you have
to do is break down the Latin to see the difference between a Numen Pumilum
and, shall we say, house elves or the woodland elves. Pumilum is an adjective meaning to be short of stature and Numen is a noun
that means divine power, divine majesty, a divinity, or a deity.”
“So you’re going to turn into a little
goddess?”
Eris couldn’t help but
chuckle. “Not exactly. Numina Pumilum are simply a very powerful sub-species of elves,
the most powerful actually, and the most humanoid. I personally find it rather funny that the
name implies that they are short, because they are a good deal taller than all
other elves. I’m probably going to gain
a few inches the night of my inheritance.”
“Of course, it helps that you’re a hybrid,”
Snape said with his brow furrowed in thought.
Eris would have given just about anything to know what the man was
thinking. “Do you realize how rare this
is? You will be combining two very
different types of magic.”
Before
she could make a scathing retort, Draco decided to put his two cents in. “No, do you think? Perhaps that is why she thought the Dark Lord
would find it valuable enough to use her!”
Snape just snorted. “And what does our Lord intend for you to do
once you have found your mate? It is
unlikely that said mate will allow you to continue you in your current service,
or am I mistaken in my memory that Numina Pumilum are meant to be incapable
of evil.”
“Pure ones, yes,” Eris said softly. “I have yet to be incapable of anything. As for my mate, the Dark Lord intends for me
to choose from amongst his Death Eaters.
Luckily, the few documented cases of hybrids and studies that I found
stated that hybrids that are less than one-half Numen Pumilum would have a
choice of mates. It’s a bit of a process
of elimination, but apparently I don’t have
to choose whoever is magically best.”
Draco frowned. “What about hybrids who are half-blood or
more?”
“They are highly likely to have what would be
considered a predestined mate. In
actuality it is just that one specific person outshines everyone else by so
much they simply can’t deny them. In
such a case the elf within the person simply won’t be denied or convinced to
choose the second best.” Eris sighed and
offered Draco a self-deprecating smile. “None
of that really matters at this point, Draco.
I am only three-eighths Numen Pumilum and I am not going to get any
choice in the matter, not really. I’ve
given away all my choices.”
“Don’t say that,” Draco snapped. “If there is one thing I’ve learned after all
of this nonsense it’s that you always have a choice to do the right thing. Always.”
Eris felt close to tears and
didn’t have the strength to contradict her friend. Snape broke the silence. “With that, I think we should all be heading
to bed. My grandmother will be
suspicious if the two of you are walking about like zombies in the morning.”
Eris nodded numbly and canceled
the silencing spell and the wards on the door.
She felt Draco move to stop her, but she did not look back and only
quickened her steps. Practically running
down the halls, she burst into her room, left the door ajar for Snape to enter,
threw her robe to the floor, and flung herself on her bed.
_______________________________________________________________________
Severus quietly closed the door to
Eris’ chambers and then stood studying the girl for a moment. She was breaking down, and with Draco hardly
having shown any disapproval. It was
painfully obvious, now that he had more facts, that she did not wish to serve
Voldemort. Still, he could not honestly
say that she truly held any love for Potter either. She had said it herself to him before; she
did things for her own benefit. He
nearly snorted at the thought. True, she
did try very hard to manipulate situations to her favor, but in the case that
counted most, she was drowning. It
didn’t help that the girl was still hiding things from them. There was something…something about what
happened with Lucius that she was keeping to herself.
A quiet sob broke the silence and
Severus decided it was time to pull her from her self-pity. If he gave her a jolt then perhaps she could
use her anger to pull herself out of her pool of despair.
He glided over to her bedside and
sat gently behind her. Her body tensed
as he ran the tips of his fingers down the side of her bare arm. Letting the touch trail down to her clenched
fist, Severs took a hold of it and slowly rubbed his thumb in circles on the
back of her hand.
Leaning in close to Eris’ ear, he
let his voice drop to a silky purr.
“Eris, do you understand what I am allowed to do to you?”
He smiled as a shiver ran through
her body. A wise man knew how to play to
his strengths, and his was his voice.
The witch’s voice was thick and shaky when she answered. “Y…ye…yes.”
“Excellent.” As the tip of his tongue traced the shell of
her ears, he waited for the perfect moment to pull away and bring the anger to
the surface. His hand slowly drifted
down Eris’ side and onto the subtle curve of her hip. A tiny moan escaped from her lips and Severus
moved on to nuzzle her neck, carefully nipping at the soft flesh. Any moment now it would come.
He nearly smiled as she rolled to
face him, but her wide emerald eyes stopped him. There was lust there, down in the deepest
depths of the green pools, but the emotion that caught him first was
confusion. Immediately following that
was fear. The moment was not going to
come the way he planned. She had no idea
what he had been trying to do. He
stroked her cheek with the back of his hand.
“What did he do to you? What
aren’t you telling me about Lucius?”
Ah yes, that
did it. A fire sparked in her eyes and
she shoved him away. “It’s none of your
bloody business; now kindly let me get to sleep.”
He could have simply left, but it
was important to make it clear that he was the one who would be in
control. Grabbing the back of her head roughly,
he dragged her to meet his lips in a bruising kiss. When she gasped in shock (or anger), he pushed
his tongue into the soft warmth of her mouth.
After a few moments, Eris stopped struggling and he pulled back to look
into her eyes once more. Rage. There was nothing but rage there now. It was what he feared. This, such rough treatment, this was
something she did understand. He leaned
in slowly and placed one last, gentle kiss on the girl’s forehead.
“Goodnight, Eris.” He walked to the wardrobe, stepped inside,
and laid down on the cot. As he thought
over everything that had been said, all that he had learned, he felt a wave of
magic pass over him. She had locked him
inside and cast a silencing spell on the door.
He simply didn’t have it in him at that moment to be angry with her for
it.
______________________________________________________________________
Eris set her wand on the
nightstand after locking the wardrobe doors.
She knew she should not have pushed him away like that, but he had
confused her and then angered her. Why? Why would he begin and touch her as though
she had some choice? Gentle caresses
that were void of malice and didn’t make her skin crawl, but shiver. What was he trying to do? She simply couldn’t understand, was this part
of the patience she was meant to learn?
She lay back against her pillows and pulled the duvet to her chin. It would have been wise of her to clear her
mind of all these thoughts of strange touches and painful kisses before they
brought other memories to the front of her mind, but she was too tired. Because of this, she went to sleep restless
and soon began to dream.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
She pulled her cloak tightly around her thin frame as she passed the manor
gates in search of the man who said he could help her. He was leaning against the outer wall with
his arms crossed, posed in a manner she had been lead to believe was unbecoming
of a Malfoy. Malfoys did not slouch or
relax in public or at least that was what Draco had told her almost eight years
earlier. She walked up to the tall blond
wizard and fought to keep the fear from her face.
“I’m ready,” she said softly.
He quirked a brow at her and grasped her roughly by the arm. “So you are, but there is one small matter
that we need to attend to before I take you to him.”
Eris felt herself begin to shake.
“W…what?”
“There’s no guarantee that
you’re telling the truth,” Lucius said with an air of boredom as he let her go
and took several slow steps away. “If he
finds you to be worthless he’ll just kill you and then he’ll punish me for
wasting his time.”
“I’m telling the truth! Please, nothing will happen. He won’t have any reason to be angry with
you.” Tears were beginning to drip down
her cheeks. She hated the way he was
looking at her.
“Maybe, but I believe you should
do something for me. After all, I really
should be getting something for helping you,” he drawled.
Eris swallowed hard. “What do
you want?”
Lucius began to advance on her and she managed to feeble steps backwards
before he had her pressed against the gate wall. “Why, I want you.”
Eris frowned. “What do you
mean?”
The blond wizard growled in irritation.
“Girl, you are fifteen years old, do not try, and tell me that you do
not know what sex is!”
She flinched and quickly began to shake her head frantically. “No! I
can’t, and I can’t believe you would ask.”
“Stupid, little tease,” he hissed.
“Do you realize that all I have to do is mutter one little word and you
will never remember that I showed up at your door?”
“Stop it,” Eris pleaded as his
grip tightened on her arms.
“All I have to do is whisper
‘Obliviate’ and you will remain ignorant until the Death Eaters come to your
home and kill your precious guardian, use you for their pleasure in far worse
manners than I will, and kill you.” He
leaned in close to whisper in her ear.
“Is one time with me more horrible than all of that?”
She closed her eyes. “No, its
not. You are right, of course. I have to do this.”
The words were barely out of her mouth and he began to suck on her
ear. His hands trailed up her arms to
her shoulders and then down her front to cover her small breasts. For a moment, it seemed as though he would be
gentle, and then his large hands viciously squeezed. When she cried out in pain, he brought his
mouth to cover hers and thrust his tongue inside, probing every part so that
nothing would be left feeling clean. She
felt one of his hands leave her body and vaguely heard the zipper of his
trousers being undone. He continued to
crush his mouth against hers and she soon tasted copper on her tongue.
He grabbed her roughly by the hips then, lifting her up and pressing
her against the wall. Her robes were
quickly pulled above her thighs and her underwear torn away. She wanted to scream, tried to, but his mouth
never left hers. Soon something was
probing against her opening and her eyes went wide with horror. Before she could renew her struggle, Lucius
grasped her hips once again and thrust.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
“Noooooo!” Eris tumbled out of her bed in a tangle of
blankets. Tears were streaming down her
face and she could almost feel the pain in her belly and between her legs as Lucius
had mercilessly raped her. Sobs racked
her body and she had yet to notice that her wards on Snape’s door had fallen in
her sleep. When strong arms encircled
her, she tired to jerk violently away.
“Eris, stop,” Snape’s voice commanded and her
eyes snapped to meet his. Was the dream
over then? Was she safe for a while?
She stared too long and too hard
in her hazy, fear-drunk state. By the
time she realized that Snape had infiltrated her mind, it was too late. He pulled away from her and sat back on his
heels. She dropped her eyes in
shame. ‘It was just that one time,’ she
wanted to scream. Only once and no one
ever touched her like that again until this night. It was only once, but she felt no less
tarnished. It didn’t help that she had
sold herself to Voldemort not three hours later. It had been easy to offer her body over to
the crazed wizard in the state she was in, broken and ruined. He had seemed almost like a savior as he
accepted her and promised her that one day she would have a mate. Then he said the words the helped her live in
an illusion for a time. ‘No one will
touch you again without my permission.’
It had been so easy to only hear the first half of his words. ‘No one will touch you again.’
When Snape pulled her back into
his arms she didn’t have the will to fight.
His gentle touches and soothing voice confused her with the memories of
Lucius so near the surface, but when she leaned back and looked into the
Potions master’s dark eyes she could no longer confuse who was in the room with
her. As he bent down and softly kissed
her lips, it felt as though some small part of her pain was released.
