Chapter 5

True to their word, both Hermione and Anakin pretended as if nothing happened the night of the Halloween ball. As hard as it was for them to do so. Hermione was sitting in the Potions classroom when she felt Anakin watching her. She shook her head and thrust herself into the potion they were brewing.

‘I have to just pretend nothing is wrong. I can’t tell anyone about this. No one will understand. Well, my friends won’t understand anyway. Perhaps I could talk to Severus about this. After all, he seems to know about the Jedi.’ Hermione thought as she finished her potion and began cleaning up.

“Your homework is a one foot essay on the properties of the potion you brewed today when it is mixed with the Draught of the Living Dead. Class dismissed.” Severus instructed.

Hermione was glad this was her last class. She had just reached the door when Severus called out to her.

“Miss Granger, I would like to have a word with you please.” Severus said.

“Yes sir. Um, Anakin, why don’t you head on back to the room. I’ll meet you there.” Hermione replied.

“You sure?” Anakin asked.

“I’m sure.” She answered.

Anakin nodded and left. Hermione faced Severus. He signaled for her to follow him. He led her from the classroom to his private study. He sat in one of the arm chairs while Hermione sat on the sofa. He summoned some tea. Once they both had a cup, he spoke.

“All right Hermione, what is going on with you and Anakin? I saw you two at the ball.” Severus asked.

“There’s nothing…” She started.

“Don’t lie to me Hermione. I know there’s something there. I’ve seen the looks you two have been giving each other for the past few weeks. As well as the look you two shared when you dance at the ball.” He said.

“Fine. Anakin told me he loved me, out in the gardens the night of the ball.” She sighed.

“Do you return his feelings?” He asked.

She just nodded as she stared into her tea cup. Severus sighed and got to his feet. She watched him through her hair as he paced. She felt as if she had betrayed everyone; Her parents, her friends, the Order, as well as the Jedi council.

“Hermione, I know, as well as you, that this love between you and Anakin is forbidden. He is a Jedi. Yet, when I saw you two dancing at the ball, it felt as if you two belonged together, despite the fact that you shouldn’t be.” Severus explained.

“What are you saying Severus?” Hermione asked in confusion.

“I’m saying, trust your feelings. You have the blood of powerful Jedi flowing in your veins. Use the Force to make your decision. I suggest, you tell Anakin to do the same. The Force and your feelings won’t lie to you.” He answered.

“How do you know so much about the Force?” She questioned.

“I was a know-it-all in school myself. Plus, many of the Pureblood family studied about the Jedi and their ways.” He replied with a smirk.

Hermione nodded. She thanked him for the tea and the talk, got to her feet, and exited the room. She made her way toward her rooms. As she walked, her thought dwelled on what Severus had told her.

‘Perhaps Severus is right. I mean, it did feel right being in his arms and when we kissed. Oh, it felt as if I was whole. I will do as Severus suggested and talk to Anakin. If we are meant to be, then the Force will let us know that much. The rest we will handle as it comes at us.’ She thought as she reached her door.

On Coruacant, Master Yoda was meditating when Obi-Wan entered the room. Obi-Wan sat on one of the meditating chairs and waited for Yoda to acknowledge him. About five minutes later, Yoda looked up and spotted Obi-Wan.

“Something you needed Master Kenobi?” Yoda asked.

“Yes Master Yoda. I have felt a disturbance in the Force. Centering around Anakin and the girl Hermione.” Obi-Wan answered.

“What feel you?” Yoda questioned.

“I’m not sure. That’s the strange part. I felt as if something important has happened and it concerned the two of them. Thought I don’t know what.” Obi-Wan replied.

“Hmmm. Meditate on this I will. Wait to hear from Master Skywalker you will.” Yoda instructed.

“Yes Master Yoda.” Obi-Wan said.

Obi-Wan bowed to the older Master and exited the room. Yoda let out a sigh, closed his eyes and began to meditate once more, hoping to find some answers.

“Hermione, you all right?” Anakin asked.

“Not really. Anakin, sit down please.” Hermione answered.

Anakin walked over to the sofa and sat beside her. Hermione took a deep breath, faced him and began speaking once more.

“It seems that Severus saw the looks we were giving each other. He knows were are in love, but he won’t say anything. He said, that when he was watching us dance at the ball, that we looked like we belonged together, despite the fact that we shouldn’t be together. He also said that we should let out feelings and the Force decide what we should do. I agree with him.” She explained.

Anakin just sat there. He couldn’t believe that she was admitting that she had just said that she loved him. He was even more surprised that Severus wasn’t going to say anything. He shook his head for a moment, then spoke.

“All right. I believe Severus is correct. Our feelings and the Force will give us the answers we seek.” He agreed.

She nodded. They got to their feet, stood with their feet shoulder width apart, hands behind their backs, and closed their eyes. They let their feelings toward each other and the Force flow through their minds and bodies, both focusing on only what they were feeling.

After half an hour they sat down on the sofa. Neither wanting to speak in case they each felt something different. Finally, Hermione took a calming breath, faced Anakin and spoke.

“Anakin, I felt that us being together is right. That the real betrayal to anyone would be if we didn’t stay together.” She said.

“That’s what I felt as well.” He replied with a smile.

Hermione’s smile was all he needed. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her. Hermione didn’t hold back this time. Her arms wrapped around his neck, and her fingers tangling in his brown hair. Anakin moved them so that she was sitting on his lap.

“Anakin, ohhh…stop. Not here.” She moaned as he began sucking at her neck.

“Your room or mine?” He asked.

“Yours.” She answered.

Anakin swept her into his arms and carried her into his bedroom. Gently he laid her on the King-size bed. Hermione smiled up at him as she began to remove his tan tunic. He returned her smile as he began to unbutton her uniform blouse.

“How long until dinner?” He asked.

“We have about two hours.” She answered.

He just nodded. Within minutes both were wearing only their underwear. Hermione pulled him down onto of her as she pressed her lips to his. They both moaned into the kiss as they felt their bodies touch, It was like electricity shooting through them.
