~*~*~*~*~
Harry runs out of the potions room and straight back to the Slytherin dorms. She limps through the dungeons and gets to the Common Room. She gets into her room and locks the door in her friend's faces. She almost slides to the floor in relief, but refrains from doing so. She knows that she's going to be late to her next class, which happens to be Transfigurations, but she doesn't care.
She limps her way into the bathroom and locks the doors. She strips down and looks over herself. She can see that her rib actually pierced the skin. It's why she was bleeding so much. All of her old wounds are open again.
She's bleeding everywhere.
She looks down at her clothes and knows that they're going to need to be destroyed. If she were at home, she'd just chuck it in the wash. But here, she's sure that those who wash would tell Dumbledore what they have to wash out.
Harry decides to go through the clothes first. There might be some articles worth salvaging. The first thing she grabs is her silver sweater-vest. Yep. Still wearable. In fact, there's no blood on it at all. Next, Harry grabs her long-sleeved, button-up, black shirt. It actually drips blood. Harry sighs and tosses it on the floor a little ways away, making a second pile. Her pants, too, are ruined. Her school robes are salvageable, and so is her winter robe. She thanks whatever gods are on-hand for that. Its only the first day of classes. She doesn't want to have to order new robes right now.
She points her wand at the, significantly smaller, pile of clothes and thinks about some of the spells she's read about. ^^What was that spell? That spell that set things on fire... Oh right.^^ "Incendio!" She flicks her wand slightly as she says it, only to give it more emphasis, and her pile of clothes bursts into flames.
The flames slowly burn away her clothes and then die out. She sighs with relief. She doesn't have to deal with all of the blood and questions.
Harry unlocks her drawer and pulls out her supplies before stepping into the shower. She turns the water on as hot as she can stand it and gets under the pounding stream.
Speaking of pounding. Harry hears her friends pounding on her bedroom door. She silently hopes they don't go get the Headmaster, but soon puts it to the back of her mind as she prepares to clean her wounds and re-bandage them.
She, once again, pours the antiseptic over herself. However, this time, she doesn't just wash it off and start to re-bandage. No. With the antiseptic still bubbling, she looks down at her rib and thinks about how she's going to do this.
"Harry! What's wrong?!"
Harry ignores the worried voice of her friend, she recognizes it as Hermione, and returns to the task at hand.
The rib isn't very far out of the skin, but she knows that she's going to have to push it all the way back to the other part of it and seal it together with her magic.
Harry focuses on her breathing and, very slowly, pushes the rib back into place. She hisses in pain, feeling the friction rip open more veins. She idly thinks that she may bleed to death, but then violently pushes the thought away.
She hisses in pain again as the bone touches again. The hiss gets louder as she starts using her magic to seal it back together.
"Harry! What's wrong?"
Her friends sound much closer. They start banging on the bathroom door. But, they're in Tracey's room, not hers.
She sighs. ^^I knew Hermione would think of Tracey's room eventually. It's why I locked that door as well. But, I had hoped that they would go off to class.^^
Harry grits her teeth and focuses so as to sound as normal as possible. "Hermione. You're missing Transfigurations?"
Harry can almost hear Hermione press her lips together in annoyance. She can't help, but smile at the thought while she continues with her healing. She picks up some bandages and starts with that portion of the process.
"You are more important than classes."
Harry actually drops the bandages as tears spring to her eyes. Hermione would have to say something like that.
Harry takes a few moments to compose herself. She bends down with a, nearly silent, hiss of pain and grabs the bandages. She focuses on the task at hand rather than her friends who are now talking through the bathroom door at her.
It takes a few minutes, but she manages to bandage everything up to her satisfaction, and then adds another three layers, just to be safe.
She unlocks the door to her room and goes to get clothes.
She picks out another pair of baggy, black, pleated pants. She grabs a black turtle-neck and her salvaged silver sweater-vest. She puts on her school robes and the winter robes.
Harry walks back into the bathroom and across to Tracey's room where she knows her friends are waiting. She looks around the bathroom to make sure that there's nothing left for her to do, or put away. She knows that she's stalling.
She walks into the shower and grabs her things. She can't believe that she forgot to put them away. If her friends saw them, she knows there would be no end to the discussion until she told them the truth.
She puts them away and locks the cupboard.
She looks at the spot on the floor and knows that she's going to have to clean it up. By hand, unfortunately.
She grabs a towel and a bar of soap from one of the drawers. She soaks the towel, gets on her hands and knees, and scrubs. Harry starts thinking about magic as she does it.
While she scrubs, Harry makes a mental list of books to get from the library. ^^A book of household magic, healing magic, and health potions. I can set up a potion's lab in that extra room. I also need to learn some spells to make things more comfortable, and some books on more advanced magic.^^
Harry doesn't know if this Voldemort character is ever coming back, but she also needs a book on him. And her, if she can find one.
She needs to know if he has any zealot followers who might try to hurt, or kill, her because of what she did as an infant.
Harry looks down at the floor to find that its pristine. It shines. She grabs another towel an dries it off. She doesn't know who cleans the castle, but she doesn't want to make their job any harder than it already is. She can only guess what other students do to entertain themselves on the notion that they don't have to clean it up. She knows. Dudley use to do the strangest things for that exact reason.
She clambers to her feet and thinks a little. She has to tell her friends something. ^^Ron Weasley scares me? No. He's just an insignificant little worm who wants attention and to be in the limelight. And, if he can't do that being my friend, he'll do it by being my enemy. Hermes and Daff won't believe it for a second. How about I'm not feeling well. That'll work. When Ron Weasley pushed me into the table, it shook up my, already uncomfortable, stomach and I ran back to the room because I don't know where the bathrooms are yet. Yes. That'll work.^^
Harry steels herself and walks over to the locked bathroom door on Tracey's side. She calms herself and rethinks her lie. She knows that she looks pale. From the blood loss, but it will help make her "I'm ill" story more plausible.
Harry unlocks and opens the door. She's greeted by a very strange, and somewhat alarming, sight, indeed.

AN: Cliffie! I know. But I already have most of the next chapter planned out, if not actually written down. Hopefully I'll get it out before next week, but I don't know yet. Thank you all for your lovely reviews. I will keep this up for as long as people keep reviewing. If people stop reviewing.... I'll probably finish it anyway.
I had been planning for this to go mush farther than it did, but this was just too perfect a place to stop. The next chapter, Chapter Six: Flying Lessons, Theft, and Continued Assault.
