The next two weeks flew by once again for Ginny. She was
immersed in homework, and hanging out with friends.
Harry refused to speak with her since she rejected his
marriage proposal. He wouldn’t admit that part of the reason he wasn’t talking
to Ginny was from jealously of her choosing Snape over himself. It was a very
big blow to his ego and he couldn’t even bring himself to look at her. Ginny
for the most part ignored him.
Ron was as clueless
as ever. He grew used to Ginny eating him under the table (in fact, he
challenged her to a few eating contest where he always seemed to lose). He
still lectured Ginny once a week on spending so much time with boys but Ginny
enjoyed spending some long overdue time with her older brother.
Hermione was angry
with Ginny for not telling her about the brilliant plan Dumbledore came up with
to protect her from You-know-Who. Ginny tried to explain to Hermione that
Dumbledore made her swear secrecy but it still didn’t stop Hermione from
cutting off their girl talks. Instead, Ginny’s bushy haired friend threw
herself into homework and giving research notes to Snape.
Snape was too busy comparing notes with Hermione about the
bonding potion, grading papers, and preparing lesson plans to spend much time
with Ginny. Her body ached to be with him again but she understood that his
responsibilities had to come before her horniness.
Ginny couldn’t even play Quidditch anymore; Snape (or Harry
for that matter) wouldn’t allow her to despite Madame Pomfrey’s
assurance that a simple cushioning charm was all she needed to enjoy the game
for the next few months before her belly became too big.
Ron was angry when he heard Ginny wasn’t on the team but
accepted whatever excuse Harry gave him about dropping his sister. Ron still
hadn’t been happy but he didn’t protest about the injustice of it all any
longer.
Draco Malfoy could only sneer at Ginny from afar for the
next two weeks. He didn’t dare go anywhere near her after Snape gave him a
chilling speech on messing with what was his (he also took away the black mail
pictures that he had of them in the broom closet—the git
even managed to find out who had taken the pictures in the first place and
destroyed the negatives). The simple fact that Ginny Weasley became forbidden
fruit made Draco want her even more.
But Draco understood that duty came before pleasure. He owled his father with the bits of information he collected
about Ginny and Snape. He got back a small piece of parchment that simply told
him to place a discreet tracking charm on Ginny and that they would speak about
what was going on at a more convenient time.
Draco didn’t take offense at his father’s short supply. He
simply tucked the parchment into his robe and continued to eat his breakfast.
He wasn’t happy that his father told him not to defy Snape’s wishes and corner
Ginny but he accepted the fate nonetheless.
It was while Ginny was getting some homework done in the
Common Room that Friday with Dean and Ron that Snape made a chilling entrance
through the portrait.
All of the Gryffindor’s stopped
what they were doing and gaped at the sight. The great bat of the dungeons never came to their common room.
Something must have been going on. Snape ran his dark eyes over the scene of gaping
idiots until he spotted Ginny and Ron staring at him from the corner of the
room.
“Mister and Miss Weasley—your presence is needed in my
office,”
Without blinking Ginny packed her things. She smacked Ron in
the head (for he was still staring at Snape with his mouth wide open) and
waited for him to pack his things as well.
When their table cleared considerably, they walked toward
Snape.
By this time, everyone in the Common Room was whispering
behind their hands at what Snape could possibly want with both Weasley’s.
The walk to the dungeon was silent. Ginny as at ease with
Snape while Ron looked at him uncomfortably.
Ginny assumed that since Ron wasn’t pounding Snape’s face
in, Harry and Hermione managed to keep quiet on what happened between teacher
and student.
Finally, they made it into his office. Hermione and Harry
stood in the middle of it, looking very uncomfortable with the weird things in
jars staring back at them. Their expressions turned into ones of relief when
they saw Ginny and Ron walk in.
“Why are we all here Professor?” Hermione asked as Ginny
went to stand next to her.
Snape sneered down at Hermione but answered her nonetheless.
“We are all due at an Order meeting. We have a few things to
… discuss,” Snape said letting his gaze fall over Ginny.
Ginny paled at the words. She did not like the idea of
having to confess everything to her family that night. They would kill her
(well, they would kill Snape first and then kill her).
“Bloody fantastic if you ask me! It’s about time we were
allowed to attend an Order meeting,” Ron said puffing his chest out.
Snape rolled his eyes and with a sharp wave of his fingers,
bade them to follow him into his private quarters to floo.
Ron continued to talk to Harry, who gave his friend a weak
smile. He shared a glance with Hermione. They both knew that Ginny and Snape
would finally have to tell everyone what was going on. It was going to be chaos
and they were sure Ron and Ginny’s other brothers were going to murder
Professor Snape.
Harry smiled warmly at the thought. If Snape died, he would
have Ginny all to himself.
Hermione rolled her eyes at Harry. It was almost like she
knew what was going through his head.
Ginny bit her finger nails and looked to Snape nervously.
“You know Professor, I changed my mind. I don’t think I’m
feeling up to going to this Order meeting,”
“Are you nuts Gin? We’ve both been waiting for a chance like
this for years already! You can’t back out now,” Ron exclaimed, ignoring Snape
trying to make him grab a handful of floo powder.
“What made you think you had a choice in this Miss Weasley?”
Snape asked raising an eyebrow.
His expression said, ‘If
I have to be chased around by your crazy family, so do you.’
Snape grabbed one of Ron’s lanky arms and forced it into the
bowl of floo powder. Without missing a beat, Ron grabbed a handful and yelled
out Grimmauld Place before disappearing into the flames.
Harry glared at Snape before grabbing his own handful of
floo powder and disappearing.
Hermione gave Ginny a quick hug before disappearing into the
flames.
Ginny couldn’t help but stare up at Snape with her big brown
eyes. She really did not want to face her family about the pregnancy and what
she had to do in Order to keep her child.
Seeing the emotions playing across in her face, Snape leaned
down and kissed her gently on the lips. Ginny felt her panties flood with head
and let out a frustrated moan when he pulled away much too soon for her liking.
“All will work out well in the end. Now let’s hope the wolf
has taught you something in your defense class—we will need it,”
Ginny gave Snape a weak smile and grabbed a handful of floo
powder with her shaky hands. She shouted her destination and stumbled out of
the fireplace moments later.
Muttering about how much she hated flooing,
Ginny ran her wand over her clothing to clean off the soot.
Snape arrived as she was finishing up. With a simple wave of
his hand the ash disappeared from his figure.
‘Bastard,’ Ginny
thought darkly.
It just wasn’t fair that he was so elegant at everything he
did and she … well she wasn’t.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were already swept up by different people
in the crowds that they hadn’t seen in a long time.
Ginny gave Snape a small smile before moving away from the
fireplace. A few of the Order members raised their eyebrows at seeing Ginny
appear at the kitchen table.
It was common knowledge that the Weasley family had an
almost unhealthy obsession with shielding the youngest Weasley from all of
missions and movements of the war. To
have her there must have meant something important was going on.
It didn’t take long for Ginny to spot her eldest brother.
“Bill,” she squealed running into his outstretched arms.
“Gin—it’s been so long since I’ve last seen you,” Bill said
squeezing Ginny tightly into his chest.
Ginny didn’t mind the way he squeezed her to him. Out of all
of her brothers, her and Bill were the closet pair. It had been torture to have
been away from him for more than a year because of his job.
“Please tell me you’re finally done with your mission Bill,”
Ginny asked when he finally let her out of his death grip.
“I’m done for a while Gin—they decided to give me three
months vacation after that one. I should be able to come and visit you at
Hogwarts occasionally,” Bill said with a warm smile.
“That would be absolutely fabulous Bill!” Ginny said,
hugging him once again.
“Oi—why didn’t we get a welcoming
like that?” one of the red headed Weasley twins asked from behind Bill.
“Yeah, we are your
favorite brothers after all,” the other Weasley twin said from behind Ginny.
Ginny giggled, let go of Bill and gave the twin closet to
her a hug.
“How’s business at Hogsmede?”
Ginny asked going around Bill to hug her other brother.
“It’s bloody fantastic if you ask me, ain’t
that right George?” the twin hugging Ginny said.
“Booming actually—we’re thinking of opening another shop in Diagon Alley if things keep going the way that they are,”
the other twin (George) said from behind Ginny.
“That’s great you two—I knew that if you put your creative
minds to it that you would succeed,” Bill said.
“Hey, I feel left out. I don’t get a hug from my little
sister?”
Ginny grinned as Charlie came to stand next to Fred with
outstretched arms.
She ran into them, closing her eyes at the brotherly hug her
sibling bestowed her with.
Charlie rubbed her back with his rough fingers and gave her
a peck on the top of her head.
“How has Romania been Charlie?” Ginny asked pulling away
from his earthy scent.
“Incredible as always—one of the dragons gave birth a few
days ago and I’m swamped from helping the baby feed and keeping the Mama from
trying to kill everyone,”
“Sounds like hard work,” Ginny said, absently running her
fingers through Charlie’s shoulder length hair. After Bill, Charlie had the
best hair in the family. She always touched it and he never seemed to mind that
she did.
“It is but I love it, otherwise I wouldn’t be there. But
enough about me, why are you at an Order meeting baby sister?” Charlie asked
raising an eyebrow.
Ginny felt her stomach drop but managed to smile
nonetheless.
“I couldn’t tell you Charlie. One minute I’m sitting in the
common room, minding my own business and the next Professor Snape tells me that
I have to show up to this meeting,” Ginny said with a shrug.
It wasn’t a lie—at least that was how Ginny was going to
look at it.
Charlie continued to look at Ginny suspiciously. Ginny began
to sweat a little. Her other brothers believed her evasive answer but Charlie
always was the only brother who seemed to see past all of that stuff.
“Hey Dad, how are things at the Ministry going?” Ginny asked
walking away from Charlie and his suspicious eyes.
Arthur Weasley hugged Ginny tightly to his body and kissed
the top of her red curly hair.
“Things are going as great as ever. Hey, did you know that muggles have these great things called necular
phonics! Yes, you push a bunch of buttons on this device and it connects you
with the person you want to talk to anywhere in the world!”
“Um … don’t you mean cellular phones Mister Weasley,”
Hermione asked as she caught up on the tail end of the conversation.
“Right, of course, thank you Hermione,” Mister Weasley said
blushing.
Ginny shook her head in amusement and kissed her dad on the
cheek.
Before Ginny had a chance to greet Mrs. Weasley (who was
bustling around in the kitchen preparing dinner), Dumbledore walked into the
room with a warm smile and twinkling eyes.
He greeted everyone with gentle pats on the back or little
hand squeezes.
When he finally made his way around the whole room, he went
to stand next to Ginny who decided to sit next to her father rather than her
brothers. Molly Weasley came out of the kitchen frazzled and sat in a chair
next to Hermione and Harry to listen to what was going on.
“Welcome everyone and thank you for attending our emergency
meeting tonight,”
“What are the kids doing here Albus? You know they are not
official members of the Order,” Mad Eye Moody said from his dark corner of the
room, near Snape.
“Oi—I’m no kid,” Ron said from the
corner of the room.
Dumbledore held up his hand to silence the retort that
outburst would give the Weasley brothers would have given to Ron and spoke to
Moody.
“All will be reveled in due time Alastor. Now although this
information may seem more of the … personal nature, I assure you, it will
affect every single one of us if we don’t take action,”
The room burst into a low flow of murmurs.
Dumbledore placed his hand on Ginny’s shoulder. She stiffened because she knew
what was to come.
“I believe that Ginevra will be the one to revel what we all want to know
tonight,” he said gently.
The room went completely silent at Dumbledore’s soft words.
Ginny glared at the old man before taking a deep breath.
‘It’s now or never.’
Ginny thought.
“Well, it started off two months ago when the cow of
Hogwarts, Pansy Parkinson, decided to start bullying me,”
The twins let out a snicker and Dumbledore used all of the control he had to
stop himself from smiling at the nick name.
“To stop her from bullying me, I hexed her back. After about
two weeks, Professor Dumbledore told us to both stop. I wanted to do what the
Professor told me to do but Pansy has a big mouth. She teased me to the point
of where I threw an experimental hex that Hermione taught me at her,”
“What did you—”
“Do to her?”
Both Fred and George were humming with excitement in their seats.
They loved to hear about their little sister getting creative with her attacks.
Ginny looked around the room and blushed.
“Let’s just say it had a lot to do with warts in places that
someone like Pansy would not want nor would we want to even think about,”
Fred and George couldn’t hold in their laughter and neither
could most of the Order members. Ginny gave a brittle smile but couldn’t bring
herself to laugh like everyone else.
“As nice as it is to hear gossip Albus is there any reason
for us to be listening to this,” Moody asked when the laughter died down.
“All in due time Alastor. Please continue Ginevra,”
“Pansy was not very happy about how I cursed her. I don’t
understand how she did it, but she slipped me a bonding potion. The person I was
bound to was forced to … well you know … shag me,”
Ginny’s face was bright red. Her brother’s look of amusement
faded away into one of shock and anger.
“Even though we used the contraception charm and tried to
stay away from each other until we could figure out what was going on … I …
well I …”
It took all of Ginny’s power to not look at Snape. Instead
she stared at the table.
“Just spit it out already girl!” Moody said.
“I’m pregnant,”
It was like a tension bomb hit the room. All of the Weasley
brothers were looking at Ginny in shock and the rest of the Order members all
raised an eyebrow in surprise.
“Ginevra Molly Weasley!” Mrs. Weasley finally screeched into
the thick silence.
Ginny cringed at the sound. She always hated with a passion
when her mother became angry and screamed.
“Pregnant? You’re not even old enough to have intercourse
without my permission! Do you have any idea what damage you’re doing your body?
And how are you and this boy going to support this child?”
Ginny’s face turned red with anger.
“What did you want me to do Ma? Fight the potion and go
insane? Did you want me to ignore that cow? Sorry to break it to you, but
ignoring her would have brought the same results. She is a bitch you know. Did
you want to me to get rid of the babies? Tried it but I couldn’t go through
with it,”
“I wanna know who the bloody
father is so I can pound his face in,” Bill said jumping from the table with
his thick fist clenched at his side.
“Yeah where is the arse?” asked Fred.
“Was he too cowardly to face the Weasley men?” George
finished.
Dumbledore tried to intervene and stop the Weasley’s from
letting their anger dominate the meeting.
“Now if everyone would just calm down—”
“He better not have taken advantage
of you Gin—I won’t stand for it. If I ever meet the bloody wanker
meself I’m gonna knock him
good,” Ron said from his portion of the table.
Charlie Weasley sat at the table calmly. He looked around,
knowing for a fact that the man who ‘knocked his sister up’ so to speak was
sitting with them. Obviously, the father had to be in a dangerous position for
Dumbledore to call such a big meeting for a family matter.
Charlie’s gaze fell on Harry Potter, Ginny’s one and only
true love. But Harry sat back with his arms folded across his chest, staring at
the scene with a smirk that didn’t match the Harry Charlie knew.
If Harry were the father, he would have taken each Weasleys’
abuse with a quiet and reluctant pride.
Charlie watched Harry glance over his shoulder at Professor
Snape. Snape was staring at the scene with clenched fists. He looked about
ready to burst but seemed to be restraining himself.
‘Why would Snape of
all people be angry about my brother’s calling the father of Ginny’s baby a
coward unless—’
Suddenly it all
clicked into place for Charlie. He sighed and rubbed his temple with his hands.
The whole meeting would only get worse.
“Please everyone—calm down so that we can tell you
everything you want to know,” Dumbledore said over the noise.
Charlie put an arm on Bill to calm him down but didn’t say
anything about his conclusions—it would not do to rile up his family even more.
A stern look from Mr. Weasley was all that was needed for
the other boys and Mrs. Weasley to stop talking.
He cleared his throat and looked Ginny straight in the eye.
Ginny gulped and resisted the urge to look away from Mr. Weasley.
“Will the father of your child put you in immediate danger
if it was known that you carried his baby?”
“Yes,” Ginny squeaked.
Mr. Weasley looked away from Ginny and turned his gaze on
Harry.
“Well Potter, how long is it going to take you to lay claim
to your responsibilities,” Moody asked from the corner.
Harry shrugged a shoulder.
“It’s not my responsibility,”
Ron let out a growl and lunged at Harry. They fell to the
floor with a loud crash. It didn’t take long for noise and panic to fill the
kitchen.
“Ron get off him,” Hermione
screeched.
“You bloody git! You shagged my sister, got her pregnant and you don’t think it’s your
responsibility?”
“Get off me Ron! I didn’t shag your sister,” Harry said
trying to avoid his friend’s ham fist.
Snape’s control finally broke.
“Enough!” he said waving his hand. Ron flew off of Harry and
into his chair.
He glared around at the suddenly quiet table.
“I am the father and if you have a problem with it, I will
be more than happy to duel each and every one of you. Maybe the world would be
a better place if there were less Weasley’s over running it,”
Charlie held down Bill, Mr. Weasley held down Mrs. Weasley,
Remus and Sirius held down the twins and Ron was glued to his chair by some
form of magic Snape used on him.
Dumbledore shook his head in amusement and waved his hand
over the room. The Weasley boys (and the mother) were all glued to their seats.
They tried shouting but their voices were silenced.
“Now then, I tried to do this your way but all you did was
shout and curse. Poor Ginevra here used all of her courage to tell you
something like this and instead of supporting her like a family should have;
you all looked for ways to kill the father of her children. Now we’re going to
do this my way,”
There was a low murmur around the table after Dumbledore
finished his speech.
After the noise died down, Dumbledore sat back in his seat
with a pleasant smile on his face.
“To reiterate what was said in bits and pieces around the
table, Professor Snape and Ginevra were bound together by Pansy Parkinson. Even
though they used the contraception spell, Ginevra ended up pregnant with his
children. The main concern for the meeting tonight, was to let you all know
that we have found a way to protect Ginevra from the Death Eaters I’m sure
would want to kill her,”
“What would that be Albus?” Mr. Weasley said rubbing his
temples with his fingers.
“Why, she will become another spy for the Order,” Dumbledore
said.
“A Death Eater,” Hermione asked.
Dumbledore simply nodded his head yes.
Chairs could be head scraping across the floor in the Weasley
boy’s protests but it was ignored.
“No,” Mr. Weasley said.
“But dad—”
“No, Ginny you will not become one of them. We will figure
out what else we can do to protect you but I refuse to let my only daughter and
my first set of grandchildren to be put into that kind of danger,”
“Arthur, please see reason,” Dumbledore said.
“I am seeing reason Albus and I see no reason to put Ginny
in that kind of danger,”
Ginny put her hand on her head and let out a sigh. She
didn’t want to become a Death Eater but she understood that if she didn’t
convince her dad to let her, she would be dead by the end of the year.
Dumbledore wasn’t deterred by Mr. Weasley’s firm decision—he
was a talker and knew how to work a person’s fear and weakness to do what he
wanted.
The night had only just begun.
---
It was two hours before the meeting was done. Dumbledore
managed to convince Mr. Weasley to let Ginny become a spy for the Order (he
hadn’t been happy about it but he finally conceded that it was for the best in
the long run).
It was also decided that for the sake of putting on a show
and getting Ginny into the higher rankings of being a Death Eater, Harry would
claim her children (Snape was not very happy about this and was very vocal in
letting everyone at the meeting know).
Because Snape was a very proactive man, he had made it his
mission to see the Dark Lord, endure his punishment, and ask for a meeting date
for Ginny to join his rankings. Ginny was set to be inducted into the Death
Eater’s circle on New Year’s Day.
Snape was forced to leave the house, not because he wanted
to but because Dumbledore told him to. The headmaster told the dark man that
there had already been enough confrontation for the night and that more was not
needed.
After Snape whispered to Ginny that he would be back at the
Headquarters the next day (with her brothers silently screaming to murder him),
he left for the night with a bellow of his robes.
Mr. Weasley called a family meeting in the Black library.
Ginny had no choice but to attend.
He gave a stern look to all of Ginny’s brothers before
letting them go and taking the spell off of them.
“Dad, you can’t let Ginny join! I’ll take her to Egypt with
me until the war is over. You don’t have to let Dumbledore talk you into
anything,” Bill said as soon as the spell was off.
“Enough! No more arguments until we get to the library, is
that understood,”
The boys fell silent at Mr. Weasley’s firm tone. He rarely
used it and when he did people did what he said.
All of the Weasley’s filed out of the door with dark glares.
Ginny was the last one out. She gave Hermione a ‘Please Save Me!’ glance before being pulled out of the kitchen.
Once they were all properly seated in the library and the
room was silenced, Molly Weasley took over the family ‘discussion’.
“Ginny, did Severus take advantage of you? You know you can
tell us anything honey. He’s not here,” Molly said softly taking Ginny’s hand.
“No mum, he didn’t take advantage of me. My story was true,” Ginny said softly.
“WHAT IN THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING? AS SOON AS THAT
GIRL STARTED TO MESS WITH YOU, YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO LET IT GO
AND MOVE ON,” Molly shouted, finally letting all of her frustration out.
“But mum—“
“DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY LIVES YOU HAVE RUINED BECAUSE OF YOUR SELFISH
PRIDE? WHY DIDN’T YOU LEAVE IT ALONE GINEVRA?” Molly asked in anguished tears.
Ginny jumped from her chair and put her hands on her hips.
“I DIDN’T RUIN ANYTHING—IF ANYTHING THE SLUT OF SLYTHERIAN RUINED EVERYTHING. I
DIDN’T TELL HER TO START MESSING WITH ME. HELL, I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHY SHE’S SO
INTERSTED IN MAKING MY LIFE A LIVING HELL,” Ginny yelled back.
“DON’T YOU YELL AT ME GINVEVRA MOLLY WEASLEY! YOU HAVE
NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TAKING ON. BEING A MOTHER IS A FULL TIME JOB AND IT WILL BE
IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO FINISH SCHOOL AND HOLD A SOLID JOB WHILE YOU’RE CARING
FOR THEM,” Molly shouted.
Ginny didn’t even flinch. She folded her arms and said
nothing.
Mrs. Weasley was about to go off again when Mr. Weasley put
his hands on her shoulders.
“Calm down Molly—yelling will not make the situation any
better. I know everyone’s upset but we have to be supportive of Ginny,”
Bill snorted and crossed his arms over his chest.
“I say we kill the greasy git—or
at the very least get him fired,” Ron said.
Ginny rolled her eyes.
“Will everyone stop blaming Snape for all of this? He didn’t
come seek me out and shag me you know—we were forced to bond together,”
“Well the bloody bat should have resisted! He should have never put his hands
on you in the first place,” Fred said.
“Yeah, I mean, you’re pregnant Gin! Pregnant with that
asshole’s child! Now you-know-who is going to try and kill you,” George said.
“Snape won’t let you-know-who kill me; gods have a little
faith everyone. He may be a git but he is an
accomplished wizard and spy,”
“Be that as it may, our main concern is to find out how Snape feels about all
of this,” Charlie said, finally breaking his silence.
Ginny let out a sigh and sat back down on the couch.
“He wants me to live with him,” Ginny said.
“I forbid it! You are too young to be away from home with
children,” Mrs. Weasley said.
Ginny closed her eyes and rubbed her temple. She could feel
a headache coming on.
“It wouldn’t make sense for me to move back home. We don’t
have enough money or space at the Burrow to raise the babies,”
“That’s never stopped us before Ginny and you know it. We
can make it, we always do,” Ron said.
“What makes you think I want to go back home? What makes you
think I don’t want to live with Snape and raise our family?” Ginny challenged.
“You don’t have a choice young lady,” Molly Weasley said.
“I do have a choice Mum; since Snape and I are bound
together we are technically married to each other which means
that I am Mrs. Snape. According to the Ministry, I am a legally married adult,” Ginny fired back to Mrs.
Weasley.
Mrs. Weasley looked as if she was going to take out her wand
and hex Ginny into next week.
“Enough! It is obvious that tonight our tempers are too high
for us to get anything productive figured out. How about we have another family
meeting in the morning,” Charlie said, surprising everyone in the room.
Mrs. Weasley left the room without even glancing back. Mr.
Weasley wasn’t too far behind. Ron kicked the chair closest to him and walked
out of the room with his hands in his pockets, looking down to the ground.
The twins stood, their faces sober
for a change.
“Little sis, you must be crazy—”
“To claim the greasy bat of the dungeons as a husband,”
Ginny continued to sit with her arms crossed.
“Well, it is true,” she said tossing her hair over her
shoulder.
The twins shook their heads and left the room, closing the
door behind them.
Bill was the last one left in the room. He moved from the
couch near the down and sat down on the love seat in front of the fire place
next to Ginny.
“I can’t believe you
shagged him Gin—and I can’t believe you want to stay with him. I can take you to my flat in Egypt, you don’t have
to subject yourself living with Snape,” Bill said softly.
“I’m tired of being treated like I’m five years old Bill. I mean, what would
you do if you were in my shoes?”
“I would do everything I can to make sure they were okay,
even if it put my life in danger. But, you see, that’s different—”
“No it’s not Bill. I’m not a little kid anymore, I’m a woman
and I have to live up to my responsibilities. My children need a mum who can
defend herself—a mum they can look up to. I can’t very well do that if I’m
hiding in Egypt and allowing my family to tell me who I can and cannot be
with,”
“Gin, this isn’t a cake walk in the park—you’re joining
murderers and rapist,” Bill exclaimed pulling at his hair.
“I know what they are Bill, I’m not stupid!”
Ginny stood from the couch once again and stood in front of
Bill with her arms crossed.
“I’m tired of arguing with all of you. I am putting my foot
down. I’m joining you-know-who to help the Order and I’m raising my family with
Snape and there’s nothing any of you can say to convince me otherwise,”
Ginny didn’t wait for Bill to answer; instead, she walked
out of the library with her head held high. Bill sighed and rubbed his head
with his fingers.
He only wanted his little sister to be safe and happy. She
had no idea what she was getting herself into, creating a life with Snape,
becoming a Death Eater—she was ruining her life and her innocence would forever
be lost.
“Ah Bill, just the man that I was looking for,”
Bill looked over his shoulder and watched Dumbledore walk
into the library.
The older man sat down on a chair across from Bill and
crossed one bony leg over the other underneath his robe.
Bill managed to give the twinkling man a weak smile.
“What can I do for you Albus?” Bill asked wearily.
“As you know, Remus is our DADA teacher. Since Voldemort is trying to convince
the werewolves to go over to the dark side, I need Remus to stop them. He needs
to leave his post in Hogwarts. I need you to fill in for him for a while until
he is done with his mission,” Dumbledore explained.
“But Albus this is the first time I was allowed to go on a workless vacation
for years!”
“And you still get a workless vacation when Remus takes his post again. It took
months, but the goblins finally agreed to let you do this mission for the Order
and keep your three months of
vacation. The students need a solid DADA education and I know you are the right
man for the job,”
Bill mulled it over in his brain before remembering who else
worked in the staff at Hogwarts.
“I can’t work there Albus. I’ll kill him,” Bill said softly, looking straight
into the mischievous blue eyes in front of him.
“Hm, we can’t have that can we? You’ll have to give
me your word that you won’t touch him. You don’t want your niece and nephew to
grow up without a father,”
The damned man never lost the twinkle.
“Albus—“
“Think of it this way Mr. Weasley. Take all of the energy you would put into
killing Severus and put it into protecting your sister and her children,”
Bill knew Albus was right. He had no right to kill Snape before he had a chance
to prove himself. He had no right to take away his niece and nephew’s father.
They would never forgive him if they ever found out.
“I’ll do it,” he said with a sigh
