A/N: Sorry it's taken me so long to post! I have a bunch more of this one written; I just need the motivation to deal with shitty websites (I post on 4 simultaneously) so that I can post. Anyway, this is the next chapter. You'll get to see Harry's last moments in his young body! I enjoyed this chapter; it was fun to write. Reviews make me happy and e-mail addresses get you update alerts. Happy reading! ~ FA

It was Wednesday night and Harry was sitting with Draco, Theodore Nott, and Blaise Zambini in the Common Room. He was ignoring everyone else, pretending to sulk. The lovely blue crystal pendant he'd made Daphne had been summarily rejected. Which was good, because Harry wasn't sure how long the spell he'd used to transfigure it from a blade of grass would hold and it wouldn't look good if the magic unwove while she was wearing it. Of course, as much as she thought the necklace was pretty, she couldn't have accepted it anyway. Their plan demanded she refuse all gifts.
Daphne cautiously approached Harry. "Harry?" She asked softly, though her voice carried a bit in the nearly-silent Common Room. "I think we should talk."
Harry looked up at her with a bright smile. "Of course, Daphne!" He patted the sofa beside him eagerly. "Sit down, please! What do you want to talk about? Did you change your mind about the necklace I made you?"
Daphne shook her head, her blonde hair flowing. "No, Harry. I haven't changed my mind about the necklace, though it was very lovely and I appreciate the effort you put into making it."
"I made it the same shade of blue as your eyes." Harry confessed shyly, smiling at her and peering at her with deep green eyes from underneath bashfully lowered eyelashes. A light blush stained his cheeks. "You're so beautiful and I wanted to give you something beautiful to wear."
"I know, Harry, but..." Daphne bit her full bottom lip for a moment, looking painfully young. Then she sighed. "Harry, we're only 11 years old. I just...I think we're too young to consider dating."
"But..." Harry looked at her pleadingly. "But I don't want to wait, Daphne. I...I don't want someone else to steal you away before I even get a chance with you."
"Oh, Harry...you just don't get it. My parents would never approve of me dating someone at my age." Daphne's voice was soft and gentle; she was trying her best not to hurt Harry - everyone eavesdropping could tell that.
Harry frowned. "But I'm Harry Potter. I just cleared my godfather's name and I'm a Parslemouth and I'm really famous and powerful and rich..."
Daphne sighed again. "I know, Harry. You're also cute and sweet and smart, but that doesn't change the fact that we're only 11 years old and my parents won't approve." She smiled a little at him. "But if we can start as friends, who can say what will happen in a few years when we're older?"
Harry, who had been looking hurt and upset, perked up immediately. "Really? So, we can start as friends now and when we're older you'll be my girlfriend?"
Daphne frowned a little. "I'm not promising anything, Harry. I won't promise anything. But I won't say that it won't happen, either. I'm just saying that, in a few years, I might be willing to give 'us' a shot." She peered at him through her pale eyelashes. "Can you wait a few years, Harry? Can you be my friend for now?"
Harry nodded. "Of course. I'd be happy to be your friend." He smiled at her. "Could...could you maybe help me with my Charms essay this weekend? Since you're my friend and all. I saw you were following along really well in class..."
Daphne bit her lip, looking cautious, but nodded. "I suppose I can help you a little. After all, friends help each other with homework all the time." She smiled and stood, smoothing her robes and the skirt of her uniform. "Well. I'm just going to go up to bed. It's getting late and I need my beauty sleep."
"You're already the most beautiful person I've ever seen." Harry told her softly. "I doubt you could get any lovelier. Still, sweet dreams, Daph." He waved as she said a hasty goodnight and walked away. She tentatively waved back as she disappeared down a hallway towards the girls' dorms.
Draco rolled his eyes and, semi-loudly, told Harry in an amused drawl. "I told you to wait a few years."
Harry merely flipped Draco off, causing several giggles from the other first years and some second years and startled gasps from several of the older kids. This reaction - the gasps, not the giggles - was soon wide-spread as Draco Malfoy didn't retaliate. Instead of being angry, the temperamental blond boy just laughed. A real, honest-to-goodness laugh. Harry Potter truly was amazing...and all of Slytherin was sure of that fact. After all, who'd ever heard of Draco Malfoy (or any Malfoy for that matter) laughing off a crude, common, coarse, and insulting gesture like the one Harry Potter had just used? And yet that's just what had happened, and wasn't it frightening and amazing all at once? Oh yes, Harry Potter was amazing. No doubt about that. No doubt at all.

Harry sighed as he watched the drop of blood hit the bottom of the vial. Snape quickly stoppered the bottle and Harry performed a quick healing charm on his finger. It was September 4th, a lovely Thursday, and lunch was over. "Thank you, professor. For doing this." Harry said as he stood to leave.
Snape nodded. "Of course, Harry. And hopefully, in 5 years time, I'll have a better potion ready and waiting for you." He smiled tightly at Harry, who gave a small smile back. "Now, off to the Common Room. I'm sure you've got homework you could be doing during your free period."
Harry nodded and walked out, heading to the Slytherin Common Room. "Blood Purity." He told the wall, which opened to allow him entrance. He smiled at Daphne and gave her a little wave, calling. "Hey, Daph! Don't forget; I need help with Charms over the weekend!"
"Of course, Harry." She called from her seat between Tracey and Pansy. "Just...remember the rules, okay?" She was playing up the 'agreement' they'd set down in the Common Room the night before. That they would stay just friends until they were older.
Harry flushed and nodded. "Of course. I'm just happy to have you as a friend." He agreed, then waved again. "I'll see you later, Daph, okay? I've got homework." And he headed down a hallway to his dorm room, feeling odd.
He sat on his bed and pulled out a piece of parchment, a book to use as a lap desk, and a quill and ink bottle. Then he proceeded to write himself a letter. He'd decided it might be a good idea to write himself some instructions, for when his 11 year old self finished remembering everything his nearly 16 year old self knew. Nothing major...just a few little suggestions and some minor information; just because. It just...seemed like the thing to do.
Dear Me,
Wow. It's weird to be writing myself a letter. Never thought I'd do this. Hopefully by the time you read this, you'll know everything I know. And you know everything you can't change...everything that needs to stay the same...everything you can never tell anyone. You know about the deal I made with Daphne and the friendships I've begun with Ron and Draco and the peace I made with Snape and the fact that I freed Sirius. And you understand why I've done it all. Sorry about us being in Slytherin. That was an accident. But then, you know that already, too.
I would like you to write in a journal for me. I think it will help. This way, if anything goes wrong with the potion, I can still have your memories. You can write down everything important that you think I should know about. Like I said, just in case. I don't want to lose anything; I don't want to miss anything. Also, there's these photo albums in the Common Room that are used to record Slytherin students over the years. Try to make sure there's pictures of important events. I'd like some tangible memories. We didn't have anything like that in Gryffindor...I'd like to make use of it.
Are you scared? I am. I'm scared that I made the wrong choice coming back here. I'm scared that I've changed too much...that I've made these things different and it's going to be worse, not better, when I return. I'm so frightened. Are you? I think you must be, because you know what I've been through and how it could be worse, if I messed up a single thing. Please...please, do your best to make things okay for us. To make things better for us. Please.
Sincerely,
You
Harry sighed and set the piece of parchment inside his trunk, tucking it inside the front of his Defense text, chanting it's placement over and over in his mind, trying to lock it in place for when he gave the next drop of blood. Hopefully he would get it as soon as he was allowed back in the dorms, when his memory was once-again intact. He sighed and smiled at Draco as the blonde stuck his head in the room. Draco smiled back and came into the dorm. He walked over and sat next to Harry on the bed, bumping their shoulders together as he settled himself.
"So...what are you doing in here by yourself?" Draco asked, resting his head against Harry's shoulder; the gesture was sweet and innocent and just a natural part of who the blonde was. It made Harry's stomach do funny things and he wasn't sure why.
"Oh, er, just writing a letter." Harry said softly, his voice coming out strange. He felt like he couldn't breath right and he didn't know why. What was going on? He looked down at the boy whose face was so close to his and whispered. "Draco...?"
Draco tipped his head back, his grey eyes half-closed and languid-looking, his pink lips curved into a small, sweet smile, and met Harry's confused gaze. "Yes, Harry?" He murmured, nearly nose-to-nose with his beautiful best friend. He loved being close to people, which Pansy said was because no one hugged him or touched him at home, so he tried to make up for it by snuggling with all of his friends. He hoped Harry didn't mind...
"Draco, I..." Harry felt strange. Lightheaded and warm and his stomach felt like it was twisting around. He stared into Draco's eyes and wondered what the other boy was doing to him. And then his eyes widened because he realized what was happening. "Draco...I need Snape." He gasped the words out...it felt like his throat was closing.
"What?" Draco frowned, lifting his head from Harry's shoulder. "What are you talking about? Why do you need Sev?" His eyes widened as he took in Harry's face. The brunette boy was sweating, but his face was pale. His eyes were wide and frightened and his breathing was harsh and raspy-sounding. "Shit, Harry...is this that spell-damage-thing you were talking about? Harry?"
Harry nodded; he felt like he was being squeezed through a tube. His lungs wouldn't work right and his vision started to go grey around the edges. This felt so much worse than going backwards had. "Please...Snape..." Harry gasped out and Draco took off like a shot, screaming down the hallway for someone - anyone - to get their Head of House.
Draco was back only an instant later, helping Harry lay down and soothingly stroking his forehead. "Don't worry, Harry. Sev is coming and I'm right here. And I'll be here when you're better, okay? Best friends. Remember that." He leaned down and the last thing Harry saw was Draco's pale, concerned face and his intense silver eyes. The last thing he heard was Draco's soothing, cultured drawl as he said. "Remember me." Then everything went black.

A/N: So...that's Harry's 'plan' with Daphne going into effect. Also, that's Harry's last moments in his 11 year old body. A brief point of information: the photo albums in the Slytherin Common Room that I mentioned in Harry's letter to himself are VERY important to the story. They will come back and they are a crucial element to Harry understanding what happened during the years he skipped over. They are also NOT MINE! The photo albums are taken from a story by Veritas03 on thesilversnitch.net; it's called "Pin Up" and is WONDERFUL! I will also be borrowing something from her story "For All The Marbles", which is also an AMAZING read! I have her FULL permission to borrow BOTH things. I promised her, however, that I would SHAMELESSLY pimp her fabulous writing...so I am. So read her stuff; you'll like it! I sincerely thank Veritas03 for allowing me to borrow some of her terrific ideas; you're great, Veritas03! Hope you liked this chapter; please review! E-mail addresses get you update alerts. ~ FA
