Chapter 6
Feeling himself flipped onto his back, Harry moaned as Sirius' mouth locked on his. Clinging to his husband, wrapping one arm around him, he held him close. It was mid-morning and they hadn't left their bed yet. Though there was a ton they had to get working on today, this had started, something both of them liked.
As the snogging becoming more passionate and deeper, Harry groaned into Sirius' mouth when the alarm shrilled. Breaking off the kiss, he silenced it then looked up at Sirius, panting heavily. Seeing the tell-tale flush on Sirius' face and how he was giving him that 'look', Harry sighed. Shaking his head, he cleared his throat then said, “Far be it from me to be the wet blanket in this, but we have to get up. Not only do we have to get to the realtors, but to Gringotts. We have appointments with both. As much as this is going to be tricky to pull off, we can't end up distracted and cutting it too close. We both know what happens when we do that, Sirius.” After saying that, Harry began willing his hard cock to wilt. There was too much to do and plenty of time later for fun.Looking down at Harry, wanting to say fuck it and press on, Sirius then groaned. Harry was right. This was plenty bad, so they didn't need to end up rushed to get there and take care of it. That always led to them not staying as alert as they should be. No, this could wait.Flopping on his side, pulling Harry close, he sighed. Looking at the clock, he nodded. “We need to get moving. Not only do we have to make damned sure we have all the paperwork, but eat, get dressed and everything else that comes with it.” Leaning over and kissing Harry, he grinned then said, “We're going to finish this later, though! That I damned well guarantee you!”“No arguments from me there,” Harry told him, grinning himself. Sighing, he looked at Sirius then smiled a little. Reaching out, he stroked his husband's beard and admitted, “I like it this way.” Sirius had grown it out a tad. It was something like what he had after escaping Azkaban, longer than normal and not as styled, but cleaned up, not appearing as unkempt. He was used to the normal style, so this was odd, but good looking.Smoothing down his longer than normal beard, Sirius chuckled, “Maybe I'll keep it then. Just used to doing what I've always done with it.” Reaching out, he ran his fingers over the day's growth of Harry's then reminded him, “Don't shave this morning. It's odd enough looking on you that it'll throw some off.”“I won't,” Harry assured him. Sitting up with a groan, pleased his erection realized it wasn’t going to get what it wanted, thus going down, he added, “It's coming off when I get home, though, because it's already itchy.”Sitting up himself, though not happy to do so as it meant they had to get on it and deal with a highly stressful day, Sirius coached, “If you give it a couple of days, you'll get used to it. That might be something you want to try, Harry. Either that or let me do a small growth charm on it. It can help.”“We'll try that tonight and see if I can handle it,” Harry told him, sliding to the edge of the bed. Shaking his head then scrubbing both hands through his shaggy, shoulder length hair, he said, “We better not shower together either. Even if we don't press on with the fun, we both end up mucking around then we'll get behind.”“True,” Sirius admitted, getting out of bed. After a good stretch, he told Harry, “You go first and I'll set the elves on brekky. Then we'll get everything together and hope like hell this trip doesn't end in a disaster of some kind.”“We can hope,” Harry told him, standing with a groan. “Right—we need to get on it. The faster we get this done, the faster we can get back here and have some fun!”Giving Harry's naked arse a light swat, Sirius grinned, “Oh, we're going to have fun, that's for damned sure!” Hearing Harry laugh as he trudged towards the shower, Sirius watched that fine arse until it disappeared into the other room. Sighing, he grabbed his robe then went to get it all started. He already didn't like the idea of this and had a sense of foreboding, so he wanted it done as fast as they could possibly manage to stave off any chance of problems.
Coming out of Gringotts at about two in the afternoon, Sirius was pleased. So far, so good with this. They'd managed to get into the Alley and navigate to the bank without anyone looking oddly at them. Though there were some cautious glances, something Sirius understood as it was to do with what was going on, most ignored them. He and Harry were speaking German to each other, something they had to learn in Chile, the same with Spanish, so they would look more like tourists. They didn't want to use Spanish as that would give them away as Chilean. Chile had a distinctive dialect with Spanish, so they didn't want to use that in case they needed to head back there to hide. After all, the less clues the better when it came to this nightmare.
Acting like he was looking at the standard tourist map of the Alley, Sirius told Harry, keeping his voice down, “Right, we're almost done. We just head down the Alley, out through the Leaky then we vanish into Muggle London. I say we get a cab, find something to eat then get the hell home.”Looking at the map, though glancing around at all the bodies in the Alley, Harry said, “We need to.” Seeing one of the shop names, he grinned then told his husband, “I would love to see Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes though. Want to lay odds that it's Fred and George that own it?”“I bet they do,” Sirius nodded, folding the map and tucking it in his jacket with the mass of paperwork they had. “We can't, though. That's too great of a chance.” Putting a hand on Harry's back, he guided him down the Alley, eyes darting all over.“I know,” Harry sighed, making sure to keep an eye out. “This was a big enough chance that I don't want to try anything worse.”Making sure to keep one hand on his wand, though trying to appear he wasn't, Sirius kept the other hand on Harry's back, guiding him along. Thankfully, it wasn't much of a walk and it was plenty busy, so they weren't likely to end up noticed.Talking quietly to Harry, trying to act like a tourist and pointing out various places, more because they had changed so much or they weren't there long ago, Sirius was pleased when they came out to the place the Leaky was. Making a beeline for that, they were stopped when there were suddenly shouts and people rushing in their direction. Oh no, that wasn't a good sign.“Bollocks,” Harry muttered when the scene came into view. There was no getting through the Leaky as a good sized group of Death Eaters, in full regalia, other than a few, where standing there, starting to fire off spells at a couple people in the other direction. Eyes drifting the way the idiots were focused, he groaned. Though it had been a decade, he knew the two on the receiving end.Ron looked the same, though he was bigger, taller and built like the twins had been. The other—the bushy hair was enough to tell him it was Hermione. She was quite beautiful now, but the hair was the same. Sighing, he told Sirius, as Ron, dressed in what he knew were Auror robes, was trying to protect the both of the best he could, “I think we need to do something here. No chance I can just walk off. They'll end up dead as they were caught alone.”“Agreed,” Sirius nodded with a groan. “Right—let's see how many wands we can get to buy time so someone else can get here before we all end up dead.” While he knew this was going to probably be the bit that gave away who they were as the DMLE was likely to get involved, he couldn't stand there and watch them die. That's what it appeared the evil arses were shooting for, too. The curses they were firing off were meant to either kill or torture. Whatever this was about wasn't for a bit of playtime or show. Ron and Hermione just had the bad luck of being caught alone.Lifting his wand, Harry grinned, getting the whole bit about how many wands they could get. “Winner gets to pick the fun?” He asked. That was normal, too. They'd had a few run-ins with some arses over the years, so the standard for the two of them was to see how many wands they could manage to grab. It was something like a contest with the prize being the winner got to pick whatever bit of fun they wanted to partake in. The basilisk ride was after Sirius won in Thailand when they got caught in the middle of a mess.“Of course,” Sirius grinned, leveling his wand at the action. Sobering up, noticing his cousin Bella in the middle of the mess, he sighed, “Just be careful. These jackarses play for keeps.”“Nothing to worry about,” Harry assured him, wand leveled at the woman cackling madly, the one without a mask. “We've got the drop on them and they won't be ready. That should buy some time.”“Right—let's do it!” Sirius said, firing off a spell that wrapped one of the tall ones in a rope of thorns then summoned his wand. Casting a spell to strip off the mask as the man struggled against the binding, losing as those thorns and rope would just tighten the more he struggled. Grinning when it was revealed who it was, he chuckled, “Lookee there; I got Lucius Malfoy's wand!”“Good one,” Harry said. Upending the loud one without a mask, Harry hung her upside down by one foot from a sign. After summoning her wand, seeing her still struggling, he cast a strong Stunner on her. “She's a nasty piece of work, isn't she?”“My cousin Bella and you have no idea,” Sirius muttered, plastering Rabastan to a wall, sticking him there, and summoning his wand. “She moves, you Stun her again. That's one we don't want to tangle with.”Seeing someone turn their way and level his wand at them, Harry slammed him straight into a wall, back first. Watching him crumple and not move, he summoned that ones wand as well, then pulled his mask off. “Looks like Draco followed in Daddy's footsteps,” he snorted, shaking his head. “Not surprising there.”Seeing another focus on him, a big, bulky one, Harry sent him straight into some trash bins, his head knocking on a lamp post. Summoning his wand, pleased that he didn't move, he stripped off the mask and chuckled, “And Crabbe. Another that's not a big shock. Want to bet Goyle is in that mass somewhere?”“Wouldn't surprise me a bit,” Sirius said, putting up the best shield he knew. They had gotten everyone's attention, unfortunately. The up side was that Ron and Hermione were able to take cover. Firing off spells to defend them, Sirius tried to blast as many as he could.Casting his own shield, Harry followed suit, no longer worried about getting wands as the arses were now focused on them. “The DMLE better get here soon. We might be good, the same with the other two, but we cannot hold all these fools off for long.” Harry sighed, doing what he could.Doing a quick test, ducking spells, Sirius sighed as he realized that there were anti-Apparation wards up. He assumed that's why Ron and Hermione hadn't tried using that method to get out. Dammit! That meant when help did come, they couldn't get out that way. Oh well, they'd deal accordingly.Firing off spells meant to drop the arses, Harry jerked when there was suddenly a whole other mass of bodies in the Alley that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Taking in the robes and patches on them, he nodded, “DMLE, Hitwizards and Aurors. The Cavalry has arrived.”Though that was good, Sirius knew that they had just bought hell for themselves being there. The DMLE would want to talk to them because they saw what went on and helped. Oh yes, their secret was about to be out for the world to see. Lowering his wand, Sirius muttered, hoping like hell he wasn't overheard, “You stay planted and hold off answering any questions as long as you can. I'm going to send a message to our Solicitor to get his arse here as fast as he can manage. Try not to give up who you are until I get back. If they get twitchy and try to force the issue, get the fuck out. The minute they recognize me, most are going to get who you are.”“Got it,” Harry nodded, watching the law tend to what was left of the arses. “Just hurry.” He assumed that Sirius was headed to the small Post Office not far to send the fastest owl he could find. Their Solicitor was near the Ministry, so it wouldn't take long for him to get here.Patting Harry on the shoulder, Sirius turned and took off, planning to get the message off as fast as he could. Then he was going back to glue himself to Harry's side. No chance Harry was taking this on by himself.Standing with a hand on Ron's arm, Hermione was still shaking slightly. The whole attack still had her on edge, not to mention just who they had faced. While there had been problems with several over the years since the war had kicked into high gear, this was the first time she really had to face an attack like this with just herself and Ron. The mere thought that they had gotten caught somewhere safe, the Alley, which was full of people at the time, by a small army of Death Eaters was bad. Add on that they had targeted her and Ron was worse.
Still unnerved, though waiting for the standard and to give statements, she looked in the direction of the only two that had bothered to step in and help. While the Alley had been busy, everyone else had vanished, leaving her and Ron to go it alone. They had sent off a message, of course, to get help, but that would have taken time for people to get here. What they had been trying for was to ease their way down to the twin's shop. It had been too far away, though. Now they had two people they didn't know to thank for helping.Watching the older of the two men leave and head back the other way, her brow furrowed. There was something familiar about him, though she couldn't put her finger on it yet. Of course, she only had some brief glimpses as they had been paying more attention to defending themselves than worrying about who was helping. Shaking her head, she was wondering what was happening. The older one wasn't trying to leave the Alley, but going the other direction. There was no way out from that end. The other was just standing there, like he was waiting, as he watched the DMLE work. Smiling just a tad, she didn't think the two realized they were probably getting a huge reward for what they had done because the bounty on Death Eaters was high. There was actually a real reward for some of them as they were wanted criminals. After her eyes drifted back to what the DMLE was doing and Ron, who was conferring with his boss, she gave a pleased nod. Three of the really big Death Eaters were in custody. Bella, Rabastan and Lucius out of the mix was very good for all of them. Draco—well, she couldn't say she was upset he was as caught well. While he looked plenty hurt after meeting that wall, St. Mungos would have him fixed up quickly. The same with Crabbe. There were a few others sprawled out or in cuffs. Wonderful! The more out of this nightmare, the better off they were all going to be!Turning back to the one man that helped, she focused on him, brow furrowed. Though he kept looking over his shoulder, probably for the person he was with, she saw enough of his face that she thought she recognized him as well. She just wasn't sure where she knew him from. And it was poking her hard, which meant she knew him more than in passing. Now she was going to have to figure it out or it was going to make her completely mental! No, this wasn't a bad feeling, like the ones she had to stay wary of, but it was there and she wanted to know.
Glancing over his shoulder, Harry was hoping Sirius would return, fast. Though part of him wondered if his husband shouldn't just stay away. Sirius was the most recognizable of the two, so it would probably give it away faster. As he thought about it, he gave an internal sigh. No, it was inevitable; who he was would come out.
Nodding to the Auror that came to talk to him, asking him to wait so he could give a statement, Harry sighed. Oh yes, it was coming out. This would all be on the record and it was coming. If he just disappeared, it would make it all the worse as Sirius might end up held as a material witness or something. Shite! Hoping Sirius got their solicitor here fast, Harry shifted from foot to foot, watching them tend to the injured and taking statements. Part of him wanted to just vanish, but another part knew that was probably a bad idea. Let their Solicitor get here and handle it.Glancing down at the other end where Hermione was standing, Harry couldn't help but grin. She looked great, honestly, despite being disheveled from the battle. Seeing her look at him, he thought over what he wanted when it came to seeing her. Since she had held off telling everyone what really happened to him, at least that they could tell, since no one had actively looked for Sirius to get him back, he figured she could keep another secret. Well, at least until it came out.Locking eyes with her when she looked his way, he grinned hugely. Lifting his wand, he changed the color of his contacts to clear and winked. It wasn't much, but as swift as she was, he figured she'd catch on quickly enough. Changing the contacts back to the blue he had before, he continued to look at her, grin growing. Then he waited to see if she would catch on.
Tuning out what the DMLE was doing, Hermione focused on the man standing there. When she saw the grin, her brow furrowed more. That grin—she knew it from somewhere and her brain was in overdrive trying to figure out where it was from. As she watched him lift his wand and wave it over his eyes, her own widened when the green showed, then the wink. It was then the pieces began to slide into place.
Seeing the memories of Harry play out then the pictures she'd see in the papers since then, her eyes began to tear as she realized who this was. Hands flying up and covering her mouth as she began to shake, she took in everything about him. Oh, he looked amazing! He was so far beyond that skinny runt of a boy that they weren't even like the same person!Unable to help herself, she dropped her hands then took off in that direction, planning to hug the stuffing out of him. Of course, she would stay mindful not to say his real name, though she was sure that was coming out with what just happened. When she got close enough, she launched herself at him then hugged him tightly, sniffling, as she muttered, making sure to keep her voice down so no one else heard, “It's really you!”“It's me,” he told her, hugging her tightly, voice low enough that no one else could hear, though there wasn't anyone close, thankfully. Giving her a tight squeeze, he really didn't know what to say, eyes burning. This was great!Breaking off the hug and backing away, Hermione looked him up and down, grinning. Hands flapping slightly, she told him, “Oh Merlin, you look wonderful! You're unrecognizable!” Honestly? She didn't know what to say to him after all these years, just happy to see him once more.Grinning, he told her, keeping his voice down, “Thanks! And you're beautiful!”Smiling bigger, hands flapping once more, she was tongue-tied. This—she never imagined he would get so handsome and tall!Stepping closer, Harry told her softly, “I thank you for this. You gave me a wonderful life, Hermione. Without you, I'm not sure what would have happened.”“Oh, you're so welcome,” she beamed, taking in everything about him. Glancing around, she asked, now putting together who it was that was with him, “Where is—you know.”“He'll be right back. He's gone to get our solicitor as we'll probably need him,” Harry explained.“You're still together,” she observed happily.“Very much so,” Harry grinned back, holding up his hand so she could see the wedding ring. “What you did—it's made both of us very happy.”Taking his hand with one that was trembling, Hermione looked over the wedding band, eyes wide. “You're married?” She asked in a voice that quivered and rose in pitch slightly. If it was true, it stunned her, but she wouldn't object. As long as they were happy, it didn't matter.“Yes,” Harry told her with a nod, still grinning. “It just came naturally.”“I'm so happy for both of you!” She squealed, hugging him tightly again. Keeping a tight hold on him, she said, “This is wonderful! I'd wondered for so long how you were and if you were happy. It's amazing to know that you are.”Hugging her again as she squeezed the stuffing out of him, Harry patted her on the back, “We have a wonderful life and are happy, thanks to you.” Looking over her shoulder, he chuckled a bit as Ron looked in their direction, an expression on his face that told him there was a bit of wondering there. Quietly, he said, making sure that the hand with the wedding band on it could be seen by Ron, “I think your fiancé is getting a tad jealous.” He knew from the Prophet that the two were engaged, something that really didn't surprise him with what he remembered of the two.“Let him be,” she said, not letting loose. “I'll explain it to him later.” She then looked up when she heard someone coming. Grinning once more when she saw who she now recognized as Sirius, she let loose of Harry then latched on to the other man, hugging him tightly. “Oh, you look wonderful, too!”Laughing, Sirius hugged the witch and gave her a pat on the back. “So do you, Hermione.” Lowering his head though keeping watch, seeing Ron looking their way, he added, “And we can't thank you enough for all you did for us.”“You're welcome,” she said, voice muffled as she wouldn't let loose of him.“Here I was worried about what you might be dealing with,” Sirius told Harry, chuckling. “I didn't factor in getting the life squeezed out of you by someone.”Laughing at that, Harry told him, “Yup, was hugged and squeezed.” However, the smile slid off his face when Ron began making his way over in their direction. Quietly, keeping an eye on his old friend as he approached, “Did you get something off?”Patting Hermione on the back as she let go, Sirius nodded. “I did. I was able to use the Floo at Gringotts to get in touch. He's on his way here with every legal paper we have. Nothing to worry about.”“Oh, I think there's plenty to worry about,” Harry sighed, shaking his head. “We'll manage, though.” Putting a hand on the beaming Hermione's shoulder as she stood between them, he waited. Oh yes, everything was about to get far more complicated for them. The hell they were trying to avoid was now imminent.
