Hermione was getting ready for the dinner party, she had actually gone out shopping looking for an outfit that would be suitable. It wasn’t so much that she wanted to impress the Malfoy’s or Andromeda and she didn’t really care that it would be the first time she was meeting her daughters boyfriend, it was Teddy. Even though she was still a little horrified by his interest, she was excited too. She wanted to look sexy for Teddy but not in a noticeable way, she didn’t want or need Andromeda to notice anything.
“Mum” Rose said “I’m leaving now, Scorpius wants me to join him for tea and then apperate with his family”
“That sounds good” Hermione said looking at her daughter and frowning. Rose was starting to really develop and the bright red spaghetti strapped dress was a little too short and the top dipped a little too low for her taste “Honey, before you leave go up and change your dress please…that one is a little too short”
“But its new” She whined pouting a little. Hermione rolled her eyes and pointed her wand at the hem of the dress lowering it to her knees.
“Now just go and get a cardigan” Hermione advised and Rose bounced off up the stairs leaving Hermione to go to her own room.
She heard Rose floo out of the living room as she got in to the shower. When she was out she did her hair in to an elegant knot with some tendrils hanging down, she put on neutral colored make-up and then went back in to her room. She had spent a lot of time reading romance novels as of late and half-expected Teddy to be waiting for her. The room and house was empty, she opened her closet and took out the bag from the shop that she had been to the night before. The only way to explain the dress was to say it was a salsa dancing type dress, black with red flowers around flowing bottom, a wraparound top that dipped low to show the tops of her breasts. At the last moment she sprayed on her favorite sunflower scented perfume and then applied red lipstick.
A house elf held the door open for her as she walked in she gave her cloak to the little elf. She smiled at Andromeda who walked over and hugged her, telling her how beautiful she looked and how happy she was there. Andy walked over to the door again when the Malfoy’s entered after knocking only once on the front door. Hermione raised her eyes to see Teddy walking down towards her, his eyes were on something in his hands but when he raised them he stopped. Her breath caught in her throat as she assessed his presence, he wore black trousers and a white button down shirt that wasn’t tucked in and the top buttons were undone. The minutes seemed to turn in to hours as he looked at her, his hair turning from light brown to dark purple with the black tips, a color she was starting to realize told her that he was aroused.
“Teddy” Andy walked over “What are you just standing around for?” She pulled him down the last few steps “Come say hello”
With great difficulty Teddy managed to make his hair go back to light brown. He found that when it was a formal setting he liked to look like his father as much as possible, it was an old habit that he picked up when he was little. His clear green eyes kept looking at Hermione and he was sure that she had worn that dress to torture him. All his meditation, learning to understand his body and learning how to keep his desires at bay seemed to leave him completely and he was an inch from ejaculating the minute he saw her in the entrance hall.
“Shall we go to the dining room?” Andromeda asked and everyone followed her. The dining room was a large room with a long, shiny wooden table that had seven settings all with name tags. Hermione’s was in between Draco and Teddy.
“Is this a normal setting?” She asked looking from Draco on her left to his wife Astoria who was sitting across from him on Andromeda’s left “I mean shouldn’t Draco and Astoria sit by one another, I don’t mind moving” Her word ‘moving’ came out higher pitched than she had meant it to be, but Teddy had walked behind her and ran his large hand over her ample backside.
“No, Hermione” Andromeda answered with a smile as she and the others sat down, Hermione quickly following suit “In the pureblood world a husband a wife don’t sit together, it is a good way to make sure that everyone gets to spend time together and not just the married ones” Hermione nodded “Therefor, she is on my left, he is on my right, the two young love-birds are together and you and Teddy are together so you can talk…it’s all formulated perfectly”
“Okay” Hermione breathed as she felt a large, manly hand on her right knee.
“I would like to make a toast” Draco said “To my cousin Edward…”
“Teddy!” The multicolored haired man snapped in irritation.
“To Teddy” He said bowing slightly “For figuring out your future and going for it completely. May every conquest be just as worthy”
“Thank you” Teddy said and they all drank. The dinner was filled with questions about his classes and what he would be taking. Hermione listened closely and tried not to notice the way his fingers were drawing shapes on her knee. He was teasing her and she was starting to get a little brave so instead of letting him have all the fun she smirked and slid her hand under the table. Before she could lose her nerve she move her open hand on to his and slid it upward to her thigh causing him to inhale half the wine he had been sipping. He turned his head slowly and looked at her, raising an eyebrow at her daring before gently pinching her.
“Teddy” Draco called the younger man over as Astoria, Andromeda and Hermione all said their goodbyes to one another a few hours later “Come with me” Teddy followed him in to the floo room “What are you doing with Hermione?”
“What do you mean?” He asked innocently.
“Don’t lie to me, Edward” Draco said, he only used Teddy’s given name when he was honest-to-god serious with him “I saw the way you were looking at her when you came down the stairs, I saw you run your hand over her bottom and I saw you putting your hand on her thigh”
“Draco” Teddy said looking to the door to make sure that they were still alone “I am in love with her”
“In love?” Draco repeated with a scoff “You are a kid…”
“I am a man!” Teddy snapped “I am seventeen…at my age you were in a war! A year later you were in prison and a year after that you were married were you just a child then?!”
“Yes!” He hissed “Teddy, you have your whole life to live. Go to college, meet a nice girl…meet a few nice girls have fun and be your age you don’t have to be your age”
“I am being my age” Teddy snarled “In case you didn’t notice I am going to University, I have my own place and a job. I was the top of my class and I have a plan for my life but damn it I know for a fact that my future life will include Hermione one way or another!”
“You make it sound like she has no say in this what-so-ever” Draco said.
“She is going to love me if she doesn’t already” Teddy said confidently.
“One thing you need to know” Draco told him “If you push her or demand that she do something that she isn’t ready for, she will hate you for it”
“She will love me” He repeated secretly happy with the information that he was given “Are you okay with this?”
“No” Draco answered “And I never will be”
“Teddy” Andromeda called him over “Hermione is leaving, why don’t you walk her back to the cottage”
“Of course” He said grabbing their cloaks.
“Rose, are you going back to your fathers?” She asked.
“I have to” She answered “Dad and Lavender are bringing us to a Quidditch game tomorrow”
“Sounds fun” She said “I will see you on Friday, we will finish our shopping and your father and I will bring you to the train”
“Sounds good” Rose said giving her a hug “Have a good night, mum” Hermione blushed at the implication behind her daughters words even if she didn’t mean it that way.
Hermione and Teddy walked through the cold air, both suddenly shy to be in the others company. The air was surprisingly cold for an August night and Hermione couldn’t help but think that it would indeed be another freezing and lonely winter. There were no words to be spoken, Teddy was lost in his own thoughts and Hermione was too taken aback with her own actions that night to say anything to him anyway. At the door they stopped and she turned to look at him, wondering what it was that he would say to make her head spin tonight.
“Thank you for attending the party” He said respectfully “I appreciate it…I start my classes on Monday and work all weekend so I will see you later”
“Oh” She smiled “Yes, thank you. Good luck with your classes”
“Thank you” He said, he turned away then looked at her again, taking her hand and kissing it gently “Good night”
