Remus and Dora walked in to Snape’s private sitting room to find it empty. Remus tuned his keen hearing so that he could find him and sure enough he was in his private lab working on something. They walked in to the lab, the dark man was wearing a black under shirt with black pants and was working hard over his cauldron. Remus had been in a meeting with Albus when the man came back from the date and he hadn’t wanted to bother him too late in the night. From the look of things it hadn’t gone well or else one would think that maybe he’d look relatively happy.
“Is everything okay?” Remus asked cautiously as he kept Dora being him. Severus looked startled as he lifted his eyes to the werewolf standing near the door.
“What?” He looked confused and then nodded his head slightly “Oh, the date. Yes, it went quite well I believe that Hermione had a good time”
“Did you kiss her?” Tonks asked with a grin.
“Of course not” He said curtly “I did hold her hand but I didn’t want to push things”
“Understandable” Remus said and shushed his wife “Look, Dora and I are going to go to the Weasleys house for dinner, why don’t you come with us?”
“Why would I want to visit that annoying family of redheads?” He asked.
“Because” Dora said brandishing a letter that not even Remus knew she had. His wife had merely said that it would be sweet to invite Severus so he and Hermione could spend more time together considering that she can’t invite him on another date “I got this, this morning”
“And what is that?” Severus asked her, raising an eyebrow.
“’Dear Tonks,
I went on my date last night blah, blah, blah. Had a good time blah, blah, blah. Went to museums and out to eat blah, blah, blah. Cute butt blah, blah, blah…oh here it is: As I am pretty sure that he is the man I will choose tomorrow at the Ministry I would like to see him again. I can’t invite him on a date again as we only get one date but they can’t stop us from seeing one another one more time before the decision is made. Could you and Remus please invite him to the dinner at the Burrow tonight?’”
“A nice butt?” Remus asked.
“Out of the whole letter that was all you heard?” Tonks asked her husband with a smirk.
“Sorry” He blushed a little “So, Severus. Are you going to come with us tonight?”
“What time?” He asked, his face had gone pale when he heard that it would likely be him chosen as her husband and the color had yet to come back.
“We are leaving at one” Tonks said.
“Why so early?” He asked with distaste.
“So you have time to spend with her” Remus answered for his wife, his light green eyes flashing golden as he gave a flirty look at his wife.
“I’m done here” Severus sighed “Why don’t I take your brat until one…you two, please do whatever you need to do to keep from jumping one another on the dinner table tonight”
“Really?” Remus grinned and tried to pretend to put a fight while Tonks dragged him away from the lab.
Severus looked at the toddler who was standing in the doorway looking around, no doubt looking for something to ruin. He walked over and picked the child up and brought him back to the sitting room, he locked the lab and sat down on the couch letting Teddy walk around and play with things. Babysitting a toddler was a little simpler than he assumed it would be as he just wandered around and played with things. About two hours in to it he had lunch and then dozed off leaning against Severus’s side while he read to him. Severus watched him sleep and wondered what it would be like to have his own child sleeping against his side and if it would be different than this. These were the thoughts going through his head as he too dozed off and that was how Remus and Tonks found them a little after noon when they entered. Teddy was sprawled out on his back with his arms behind his head and Severus was leaning against the arm of the couch with his legs stretched across the floor.
“Awe” Remus whispered to his wife “I’m tempted to take a picture”
“And I may be tempted to poison your next batch of Wolfsbane” Severus said without opening his eyes.
“The good news, Severus” Dora said “You being a light sleeper means that you’ll be up with the baby while Hermione sleeps”
“How is that good news for me?” Severus asked, standing up.
“I said it was good news” She reminded “Not that it was good news for you”
“Get dressed” Remus said “We’ve got to be there in half an hour”

Hermione got her letter from Tonks telling her that Snape would be coming with them and that he was babysitting so she and Remus could have sex which made her laugh as they’d been begging her to babysit for that very reason. Hermione spent her morning putting together the ‘Weasley Family Newspaper’ that she was in charge of. Ginny and Harry were in charge of the recreational things that they did after the meal, Molly and Arthur were in charge of the food, Fred and George were in charge of the entertainment during the meal. They had started the family newspaper so everyone could stay in touch with one another even if they couldn’t make it to the dinner. She took a shower at eleven thirty and was dressed by twelve thirty when she decided to head over to visit before everyone showed up.
“Hermione” Molly greeted as she walked over and hugged “You look amazing”
“Thank you” She blushed “Just a dress I’ve had forever and never had a reason to wear before”
“The reason now?” The older woman asked.
“Don’t have one” She laughed “I just wanted to look pretty”
“Well you do” Molly said as they walked in to the house.
Hermione had chosen a daring white and red summer dress, it was mostly white with red flowers along the skirt part and a thin red sash. She also had a red headband in her hair which was pulled back in a fashionable ponytail. Everyone was there by one fifteen and after the hugs and kisses were passed around conversations started up. When Remus, Tonks and Snape showed up though a pin could have been heard hitting the ground.
“What are you doing here?” Ron asked and Luna put a calming hand on his arm.
“We invited him” Remus said.
“Ronald!” Molly hissed “Don’t be rude to my guests”
Hermione smiled as she walked over and greeted Remus and Tonks. Then she turned shy eyes to Severus and asked him to get a drink with her which he did. Teddy was being passed from person to person as were all the children but Hermione avoided holding them.
“I was hoping you’d come today” She told him as they sipped their wine and walked around the yard “I wanted you to see something before the others do, that way we can have our secret for a little while until it comes to light for them”
“What is it?” He asked and she handed him one of the family newspapers and watched his face carefully.

Hermione Granger Has Picked A Husband!
The Marriage Law went in to effect two months ago and this reporter (Hermione Granger) thought that it was a stupid law. While I think that it is a bit chaotic and not thought out well, I see now why we need this law in place. The Ministry gave the list to the men who contacted the woman of their choice, they were given one month to choose the woman, then given one month to talk through letter, one date and then the decision on who they’d like to have court them for the next year.
Some in my place have rushed and got married right off the bat and I wish them all the luck in the world. I on the other hand have been conversing with a few different people until I was forced to make a choice and say goodbye to the others. Some, like Cormac, couldn’t keep mentioning my breasts out of the letters and never got a letter back. Others, like Gregory Goyle, were very interesting to talk and therefor was one of my favorite people to talk too. However, rules are rules and I have had to make my choice so after the most amazing date I’ve ever been on I’ve decided to marry Severus Snape.
Please everyone, remember we are all adults and the past is in the past. If you attack Severus even tonight before I make it known at the Ministry you are attacking my husband and therefor you are hurting me as well.

Severus raised his eyes to hers and a slow smile spread across his lips. He was nervous, terrified in fact but there was something the felt right about the situation and he wanted nothing more than to hug her. When she saw his smile and gave one back and slowly moved in to his opening arms realizing that she fit perfectly within them. He held on to her for a moment longer before they walked back to the party, Hermione took a deep breath and made her way to the table where she laid the papers down and then she and Severus stood talking to Remus and Tonks. There was array of swearing and she noted that Ron had a paper in his hand and his swearing caused everyone to pick the paper up to read what pissed him off.
“Hermione” Ron said “You can’t marry that git” He glared at Snape “He was a death eater!”
“I was acquitted, Mr. Weasley” Snape pointed out.
“Hermione…” He started.
“Please read the last thing I wrote about remembering that we’re all adults here” Hermione reminded them before going in to the house.
“Hermione” Molly said as she, Ginny, Angelina, Alicia, Fluer and Tonks came in “Are you really sure about this?”
“When you’re being forced to get married due to a law” Hermione said with a smirk “Do you really have the luxury of time?”
“No, but…” Molly started but Ginny smiled slightly.
“Being married is awesome” Ginny told her “A little strange but you get used to it”
“You are just going to be okay with her marrying Severus Snape?” Molly asked “Not that he isn’t a good man or anything but…well…his age and you hardly know him not to mention he was your professor”
“Mum” Ginny said “You didn’t see her when she got home from either date. Snape is the right choice and it is true that they don’t know either other but they will” She smiled “A little sacrifice is a good thing sometimes and it’s not like their getting married tomorrow they will only be courting” Hermione gave her smile and mouthed ‘thank you’ to her.
“Well then” Molly said “I guess you won’t be swayed”
“I won’t be” She said firmly.
“Then all I can say is good luck” Molly hugged her “And I hope he makes you happy”
“Me too” Hermione whispered.
