@HollyBee: Wow, thank you so much! This means so much to me, seeing as I'm always kind of insecure about my writing! I've tried to stick to the characters as I have come to know and love them while reading the books. I hope you like this next chapter too!
@DaFossil: Yeah, I was thinking the same. I hope I'll be able to keep her reaction realistic :)

Hermione entered the Gryffindor common room, feeling confused as ever. Harry, Ginny and Ron were sitting by the fireplace. They looked up at their friend as she entered. They looked somewhat shocked and Hermione remembered how she looked, bloody.
“I got rid of it” Harry whispered to her as she sank into one of the couches.
“What?” she asked, giving her best friend a confused look.
“I got rid of the book, you were right, it’s dangerous” he said. Hermione nodded.
“Good” she answered. Her friends looked worried.
“Are you okay, Hermione?” Ginny asked. Hermione was lost in thoughts, and she hadn’t heard a word they said.
“What?” she asked again.
“I asked if you were okay” she whispered again.
“I’m not sure” Hermione answered.
“Is Malfoy okay?” Harry asked. Hermione thought about what she would tell her friends. Would she tell them about the dark mark? Would she tell them that Draco Malfoy was in fact a death eater?
“No, he’s definitely not okay” she finally said.
“Did he die?” Ron asked, looking both worried and a little bit relieved.
“No he’s not dead, Ronald” she said.
“But what then?” he asked.
“Just not okay? Alright? Never mind him, what did you do to the book?” she asked.
“They hid it” Ron explained.
“Where?” she asked.
“In the room of requirement, no one will ever be able to find it there.” Ginny explained. Hermione saw as Harry and Ginny made eye contact before both looking away and blushing. Ron, of course, was oblivious.
Hermione entered the bathroom and locked the door behind her. She sank to her knees against the door, her mind still trying to understand everything that had happened. Tears were running down her face. She had been so scared when she saw Draco laying there, on the floor all bloody. It felt like her heart had broken into a thousand little pieces. But he was a deatheater. Everything about him went against everything she stood for. She had slept with a deatheater, spent hours talking to him, being close to him. Maybe it was all just a plan to get to her, to break her. He had gotten to her, otherwise she wouldn’t be sobbing in the bathroom by herself. He had probably hexed Katie, that’s why him and Harry were fighting in the bathroom. She felt like Draco was two different people. The person she had spent time with and the cruel deatheater. Or maybe he was just one.
Hermione undressed and let herself sink into the hot water. Part of her hoping to erase any trace of Draco on her body and soul. But she knew that was impossible. Even if she didn’t want to, he was part of her. She let her body sink under the water until she was fully submerged. What would she do now, would she tell Harry and Ron? Would she fight Draco? Where was this wicked universe taking her?
She would have to tell Ron and Harry, and she would have to tell Dumbledore. If Draco was working with Voldemort, they needed to know. The room of requirement! Draco had been doing something in there too? What if he was up to something? If he hexed Katie, he was clearly trying to murder Dumbledore. Hermione couldn’t just let that pass her by, she couldn’t just be a bystander. She had never been before and she was a Gryffindor, for god’s sake! She would tell Dumbledore first, he would know what to do, he would tell her what the next step was.
Hermione walked into Dumbledore’s office. The beautiful phoenix Harry had told her about was sitting on his place, looking at her inquisitively. “Ah, Miss Granger, what can I do for you?” the kind old man smiled at her.
“I have some information that might prove important in the fight against Voldemort” she said seriously.
“Is that so, come, sit down and tell me all about it” he smiled as he pointed towards the chair before his desk. Hermione had the weird feeling that he already knew what she was going to tell him.
“Well, it’s about Draco Malfoy, sir” she said.
“What about mister Malfoy?” he asked, his eyes still glistening with amusement.
“He’s a deatheater” she said quickly.
“Is that so? And how do you know this?” he asked.
“I saw his arm, when I was with him in the hospital” she explained.
“Ah yes, I would see how that would happen, well, Miss Granger, there is no need to worry, I’ve known about Mister Malfoy ever since he took the mark” he answered.
“You did?” Hermione asked, surprised.
“Of course, nothing happens under my roof that I don’t know about, it’s my job, you see.” The headmaster smiled at her reassuringly.
“Do you also know that he wants to kill you, and that he probably cursed Katie Bell?” She looked at him, how could he be so calm.
“Yes” he simply answered. “And, if I might say so, Miss Granger, I think you knew that too, before everything even happened, you are, after all, the brightest witch of your age” he smiled suggestively. Dear lord, was there really nothing this man didn’t know.
“Best be on your way, miss Granger, wouldn’t want you to miss dinner” he said and Hermione got up and left.
“Oh, and Miss Granger, always remember, help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who need it” he rephrased his previous statement just before she walked out the door.
