Hermione P.O.V.
After gathering up enough courage to bring Viktor his cloak and to do it by myself, I am treated like the lowly bookworm I am. Running through the halls with tears running down my face, I make my way up to the common room and curl up in one of the big chairs facing away from the rest of the common room. Trying to make myself as small as I can, I throw a blanket over me in the attempt to hide from my friends and think in peace on why this is happening.
I thought that we had a good time last night, it was nice to finally meet the guy who saved me and thank him in person. But the way he and his friends were acting at dinner was not the guy that I saw yesterday, I wonder what changed in twenty four hours. Sighing I curl up tighter and close my eyes and wait for sleep to greet me.
“Oh ‘Mione…” I think I hear Ginny “Come on love, wake up.” Yup that’s her.
“I don’t wanna, leave me ‘lone.” I call from under the blanket. Feeling her tug on the blanket, I wrap it tighter around my body.
“Hermione you know I can’t do that. At least let me take you up to your room so you can sleep in a bed.”
Poking my tear stained head out of the blanket and sit up, I see her and Harry sigh, while Ron is in the background laughing.
“Oh love, I am so sorry. I wanted to wring those Bulgarians necks when I saw them laughing at you.” Harry says softly.
“’Mione, did you really think that you were going to get a Bulgarian guy? You? The Hogwarts bookworm?” Ron laughs
Tears start to fall down my face even faster and a feel Ginny wrap her arms around me pulling me towards my room.
“Don’t listen to Ron, he’s just a jealous git.” Nodding my head, I let Ginny pull me away while I listen to Harry lay into Ron. Once we are upstairs, I let her tuck me in and let sleep greet me for the second time this evening.

Over the next week, I ignore everyone but Harry and Ginny, and stay hidden in the library when I am not at class or eating. Keeping up with my makeover than Ginny did at the beginning of the year, I wanted to keep my head high and not let this one boy affect me so much.
Keeping this confidence, I stroll into the Great Hall for breakfast on the last day of the entering the tournament and make my way to Ginny. We have taken to sitting with our backs towards the Slytherin table so we don’t have to see the Bulgarian guys laugh or talk about us when we eat.
Picking up a bacon sandwich, Ginny and I start to eat and converse about the day. Since it is the last day to enter the tournament, classes have been cut short so people can watch those how are eligible enter. We finally decide that we are going to meet up after lunch and make our way into the room with the cup after we grab a sandwich to take with us.
By the time that we finish our discussion, mail is being brought in by the owls and like clockwork Viktor’s owl lands in front of me with a message tied to its leg. Untying the letter for the enth time this week, I give the letter to Ginny like all the others and give the owl a piece of bacon before it flies off. Not wanting to read to read what he has to say, I have been diverting all his mail to Ginny. Not caring if she reads them or not, I just don’t want to have my heart broken before anything starts to get serious.
Turning back to my food, I dip my head with a sigh and push back my plate. I guess Ron was right and I was a fool to think that a little makeover would help me in the field of dating. I should probably just stick to my books, they never seem to hurt me. Telling Ginny that I will see her at lunch, I leave the Great Hall and head for my first class of the day not noticing a pair of silver eyes that follow me.
Quickly walking to Transfiguration, I head inside and sit down at my seat. Pulling out my book for the class, I start to read what we are going to be doing in class today. A few minutes later, Harry comes and sits down next to me. Ever since Ron started making fun of me, Harry and Ron have been on edge with each other. Not wanting to be in the middle of our fight, Harry tries his best to play mediator but knows that Ron is in the wrong with this argument.
Transfiguration goes by quickly and so do the other three classes that we have before lunch. Harry and I make our way to the Great Hall and meet up with Ginny. The three of us grab sandwiches and some pumpkin juice before making our way to the room with the Goblet of Fire. Finding a couple of spots in the front row of the benches that are set up, we start to munch on our sandwiches and wait.
The first person to arrive is the one of the girls from Bauxbatons, walking through the age line she throws her flowery piece of paper in the cup. Everyone claps and cheers, she turns with a blush and quickly exits the room. It is not long before Cedric Diggory enters and he throws his name in, again everyone cheers and claps for the only Hogwarts student brave enough to enter the tournament. A few minutes before the time limit is up, Viktor and another Durmstrang student walk in. Watching them stride purposefully to the cup, they throw their names in and another round of cheers and claps.
I give the guys a polite golf clap and face my fears and look up at the two Bulgarians. My eyes meet his and a quickly look away and back to the book in lap, not noticing the hurt look on Viktor’s face. Pretending to read, I look up covertly and seem him give a sad sigh before being pulled away by the second Bulgarian guy.
Closing my book, I lower my head trying not to cry. Slowly I get up and make my way to the library, even though we were not given any homework for this weekend, I still want to do next week’s readings and it is the perfect excuse to be alone. On my way to the library I notice a group of girls surround a couple of guys, as I get closer I notice that it is Viktor and his friend. The tears that I have been trying to hold back finally let loose at the sight in front of me and I push my way past with silent tears streaking down my face.
Quicken my pace, I make it to the library in record time and head for the back corner where no one knows about the reading nook under one of the windows. Climbing into the nook, I cast a silencing spell and start to sob. I knew that it was too good to be true, why would I even think that someone like Viktor would go for someone like me.
Finally crying myself out, I undo the charm and pull out my books and quill. Leaning back against the wall, I open my potions book at start to take notes on the potions that we will be brewing the upcoming week. I am too engrossed in my textbooks and notes to notice that someone is standing over me. They clear their throat and I jump at the noise, closing my eyes I calm my breathing before opening them to see who has found me. Slowly I open my eyes and look at the direction of the noise, a pair of silver eyes meet mine and I gasp before looking away and turning back to the materials in front of me.
Kneeling down next to me, Viktor tries to take my hand, but I quickly pull it away from his grasp.
“Mimi, please look at me. I vish to apologize for the vay I haff be acting.”
Stealing up my nerves and look at him, I can tell that he is upset because of the look in his eyes but I don’t care. The past week or so have been hell for me and he is not getting away that easy.
“Why should I listen to you? You were a complete and utter gentleman for a few days and I thought that we were getting along just fine. But when I tried to return your cloak to you and see if you wanted to study together, you and your friends treated me like dirt. So give me one good reason why I should listen to you Mr. Krum.”
Bracing myself for an answer, I look straight into his eyes and wait. After a few minutes of silence, I pack up my bag and stand up.
“Since you have nothing to say, then I shall be leaving you Mr. Krum. I can’t thank you enough for saving me and for the flower, but I am not the type of woman who will have her heart played with. If you can come up with a reason for me to listen to your apology and reason behind your treatment to me, come and find me.”
I push passed him, leaving him gaping as I retreat back to the common room and wait for Ginny so we can go to dinner. Once in the safety of the common room, I have so many questions that fill my head. Should I give him another chance? I should at least listen to his apology, I mean he did come and seek me out. Would I just be one of “those girls” if I let him have another chance? But if I don’t give him another chance, then I could be missing out on a great relationship and opportunity.
Growling in frustration, I finally come up with a plan. I will listen to his apology and reasons for why he acted like such a jerk and IF I decided to give him another chance I will lay down some ground rules. This whole event as made me question myself even more.
Ginny comes in to the common room just as I am done finishing my plan and homework. The two of us head to our rooms to drop off our bags before making our trek to the Great Hall. On our way down, I realize that it is finally the weekend! Hoping for some peace and quiet tomorrow, I put a slight bounce in my step and the two of us happily make our way to dinner.
