Chapter 60
"Harry Potter."
Slowly, he lowered his arm and peeked with one eye. Once he was sure he wasn't about to get blinded, he opened both of his eyes and looked. However, the moment he took in his surroundings, he froze out of shock.
He was no longer in the Head's Office—or rather, he was not in Hogwarts anymore. The whole place looked more like a underground tomb of some sort.
Nefertiti's tomb.
Unbidden, that thought came to mind, and at the same time, he found the source of the person who had called his name.
The woman looked not a day over forty, yet there was a regal aura surrounding her, even with that amicable smile on her face. Her dark hair cascaded down her back, and though her skin was dark, her dark eyes stood out like onyxes. She wore a simple white-colored robe and donned no other adornments.
"I'm in Queen Nefertiti's tomb," Harry said out loud.
The smile on the woman's face deepened and she nodded. "Yes, you are."
Harry shook his head. "But that's impossible. I didn't Apparate here, and Apparition can't happen inside of Hogwarts. Unless that box transported me here … but why?"
"You are the person who fits all the qualifications of my box," the woman said, her voice gentle and soothing.
"Your—you mean that box? That box that Riddle have. But he's gotten it from Dietfried, who'd gotten it from—that means, you are—"
"Yes," the woman replied. "I was once known as Queen Nefertiti."
However, Harry had hardly recovered from his shock yet. He didn't know the details of Egyptian history, but if this woman was who she claimed to be, that meant that she was over three thousand years old.
"Once known …?" he finally asked after he found his voice again.
"I am no longer the queen," Nefertiti answered, "and to use that name brings back so many different memories … memories that I no longer need or want."
"But … if you're her, that means you're over three thousand years old," Harry said.
"Yes, I am," she answered.
Harry fell silent, staring at her in disbelief and at the same time wondering if this was another ploy by Riddle.
"You do not have to worry. Tom Marvolo Riddle will never know what happens here," she answered, as if she had read Harry's mind—or perhaps she did.
And for some inexplicable reason, Harry believed her.
When he did not speak, she opened her mouth again. "You wanted to open the box for the Coin of Charon, did you not, Harry Potter?"
Slowly, Harry nodded his head. "Well, Riddle told us that the Coin of Charon was hidden inside the secret compartment."
Nefertiti smiled again. "He was led to believe so, yes."
Disappointment stabbed into Harry's heart when he realized that it meant that the coin was not inside the secret compartment.
"Then … then it's all a legend. There's no Coin of Charon inside the box … but Draco did buy a Coin of Charon at Borgin and Burkes in the original timeline, so it can't be all a legend. It just … can't be," Harry said desperately.
"There are no Coins of Charon, Harry Potter," she said almost apologetically. Then, a kind smile appeared on her face. "But I can grant you one wish."
"A wish?" asked Harry, a frown marring his features.
"Yes."
"What kind of wish?"
"Any wish you want," answered Nefertiti, "but be careful what you wish for, Harry Potter."
Her words opened a whole box of opportunities right then and there. So many different wishes and all of them involving Hermione. An alive Hermione. However, there was one that stood out the most, and he knew without a doubt that that was the one he was going to choose.
"I wish …"
He closed his eyes, sucking in a deep breath. He didn't know if he was right or wrong in making this decision, but … it no longer mattered.
"I wish that what happened in Borgin and Burkes never happened, that we never got sent back into the past."
A blinding light erupted in front of him, and before he could do anything, he was knocked out cold.

With a groan, Harry came to, and rubbing his eyes with the back of his left hand, he patted around his head, searching for his glasses that had fallen off. After putting them on, he glanced around his surroundings.
Borgin and Burkes.
His heart started to race as he wondered if the wish he had made in Nefertiti's tomb really did work.
"What happened?" Ginny asked groggily.
"I don't know. Maybe Malfoy cast a spell incorrectly or something."
Harry's heart soared upon hearing Hermione's voice. She was alive. She really was alive.
"Shut up, Mudblood," Draco—no, it was no longer Draco. They were back to the original timeline.
Surprisingly, Harry felt a sense of loss that he thought he wouldn't have felt. The friendship he had built up with Draco Malfoy was now dust in the passage of timelines and histories.
"Harry, are you all right?" Hermione's concerned voice reached his ears as her worried face appeared in front of his eyes.
"Yes … yes, I'm fine," he said, pushing himself up to sitting position.
He gazed at her, and uncontrollably, a grin appeared on his face. She was alive again. Without warning, guilt simmered like a cauldron of potions, bubbling and scorching his nerves. He was now the only one in the world who knew about the relationship that could have happened between Tom Marvolo Riddle and Hermione Granger. Although he never harbored good feelings towards Riddle … well, he still felt horrible towards Hermione. It was her life, her choices, her relationship. To ruin all of it for her …
"We should go and find Ron. He's bound to be worried by now," said Hermione.
But there was always Ron. They would've been together anyway if Hermione hadn't been sent back into the past, and she wouldn't miss Riddle because she'd never known him.
"Okay," Harry said, swallowing the hard lump in his throat.
After shooting annoyed glances towards Malfoy, Ginny and Hermione walked out of Borgin and Burkes, leaving only the two wizards there. For a moment, Harry couldn't help but wonder if some things from the other timelines did somehow affected what happened in this timeline. He would bet his wand that Ginny and Hermione wouldn't have felt the least bit comfortable, leaving him with Malfoy alone, especially after the duel they'd supposedly just had.
"How long have I been out?" he heard Draco—no, Malfoy, muttered on the side.
He whipped his head around and stared at the blond. Upon seeing this, Malfoy put on a scowl and snapped his jaws shut. At the end, Harry decided to remain silent, despite the many things that he wanted to say to Malfoy, and walked out of Borgin and Burkes where the two witches were still waiting for him.
Well, should be waiting for him.
A smile appeared on Harry's face as he witnessed Ron and Hermione snogging as if there were no tomorrow a small distance away from him.
All was well.

The End.
Not really.
You've been trolled with a fake chapter. :)
By the way, you can all thank Nerys for the addition of the Romione snogging scene at the end.
