Severus woke the next morning with the strong intent to find anyone in his house and shoo them out. It was to be the start of a peaceful summer, and he didn't want to find his ex students passed out all over his house. Not to mention, the fact that Malfoy Manor was so huge, there was room enough for everyone to have stayed there. Yet, he knew he'd be greeted by the sight of others passed out in his sitting room or even in the kitchen, as Adrien seemed to have a magnetic pull for people to flock around him. He knew Harry and Draco were there, because he'd heard them come in, taking no care to be the slightest bit quiet in their drunken state. Needless to say he'd enchanted his room to block out any incoming noise.

He laid quietly and content for a while as he watched Hermione's expressions in her sleep. Her hair had gone back to normal. A smile traced his lips as he noted the blue and black makeup she'd been wearing was smeared in evidence of his and her activities after the party.

The party. Ugh. Had he really been in the same room during that horrible sight during truth or dare? Severus grimmaced at the thought, but he was all too happy that he had been far too gone to really care. At the very least, he was glad he knew he didn't watch the ordeal. He knew Draco especially was a fucked up kid. While he and Adrien were a lot alike in ways, Draco was a bit of an exhibitionist, and a downright 'attention whore.'

Severus rubbed his eyes, preparing himself for the worst, and quietly rose from the bed, as to not disturb Hermione. He cracked his door open and peeked out, almost surprised to see that no one was passed out in the hallway. As he made his way down the stairs, lo and behold, there was Draco passed out in the middle of the floor, Harry not too far away. The Kendra girl was sprawled out across them with her head on the blonde's chest, while her legs were draped over Harry's middle. He made his way into the sitting room where he was horrified to find Pansy asleep in his armchair. It made him sick to think the girl had fallen asleep, reveling in his lingering scent. He shuddered as he made his way to the kitchen. Despite finding people passed out around his house, he was, at the very least, pleased to see that no one was naked.

He couldn't help but wonder if last night's events was how it all turned out during the many parties in the Slytherin Common room, but he quickly waved it away, deciding not to think about it.

Deciding to be a total arse, he first put the kettle on with the intent to make himself some tea, then grabbed a large pot and a wooden spoon. With a devious smirk on his face, he began banging at the pot rapidly and loudly to startle all of them awake.

"Get up, and get out of my house!" he tapped the pot harder, and they all startled quickly, but slumped back, resting their aching heads in their hands and groaned.

"What the- can I at least have a moment to get my bearings?" Draco grumbled as Adrien and Luna came down from his bedroom.

Severus discarded the pot and the wooden spoon and smirked as he crossed his arms over his chest, looking around at all of them, no doubt with hangovers.

"Seeing as how none of you really understand your own limitations when it comes to alcohol consumption, I am inclined to not hand out hangover curing Potions. Happy graduation, get out of my house."

Adrien burst into laughter at his father's antics before he bade all of his friends goodbye, and watched them apparate out.

"Finally. My summer, void of my students, begins." Severus remarked almost happily as he poured himself some tea.

"You really are a snarky arsehole." Adrien laughed.

"All that aside, Adrien, I've been wondering what you would like to do for your birthday." Severus said, sitting down at the small table.

"My birthday? Um... Well... I don't know." he replied, thoughtfully stroking his chin.

"We could go to Disney World." Luna joked.

"Oh fuck that. I don't know,.. What did you have in mind?" Adrien asked Severus.

"Nothing with sand and sun."

"Obviously."

Luna giggled just as Hermione came to join them. "Topic?" she asked, seeing them all sitting at the table.

"Adrien's birthday. We're trying to figure out what to do for it. You also missed the fun." Severus smiled slightly, obviously proud of himself.

"Oh, what did you do?" she laughed, knowing it had to be good for him to smile like that.

"Rapped on a damn pot with a wooden spoon, knowing it would give everyone a bloody headache as soon as they woke, and tossed them out without a hangover Potion." Adrien laughed hard at this.

"That's horrible!" Hermione laughed as well. "So what are the options for Adrien's birthday?"

"Well... We could... Go to a nice dinner or... We could stay here and get pissed... Or... We could just not do anything for it at all." Adrien finished with an almost sad smile on his face.

Severus narrowed his eyes at him. "Why would we not do anything for your birthday?"

Adrien shrugged. "I've been thinking on it, and it just seems like it's another day. Not to mention the idea of being borderline immortal is rather depressing, and I'll have many more birthdays to speak of after it, and it's just a horrible thought to me."

Finally the truth was out. It did eat at Adrien as much as it did, Severus.

"Adrien..." Severus began softly, staring quite seriously at his son. "I implore you not to think about that part of it, otherwise, you'll drive yourself into madness. It bothers me too, to no end. However, I take comfort in knowing you will have more of a chance than anyone alive today to make a difference in the world. You have already made a difference in mine. So yes, I want to do something for you for your birthday, even if you don't want it."

Hermione smiled sadly toward Adrien. It broke her heart to see he look etched in his expression. It was a look she had rarely ever seen on him. It was comparable to the look he held when he saw Salia Halberstram's dot next to Severus Snape's on Harry's Map. It was more pained though.

Adrien buried his face in his pale hands and closed his eyes; the idea of the long, cold, dark hallway that lead to what seemed like eternity emerged in his thoughts. It was suddenly interrupted by Luna's delicate hand on his back.

"It will be okay, Adrien... It will be special, I think." she said softly, and sweetly as usual.

Adrien dropped his hands and looked to her and smiled.

"Fine. Alright then. But I'll leave you lot to mull it over amongst yourselves, because I don't know what I want. I've got all I want right here." Adrien said, gesturing around the three of them.

Severus smiled sadly. "Okay then. We'll talk more about it soon."
