A/N Just a little idea that’s been running through my mind regarding this story. I hope you enjoy a look into the future for the triad, plus two.

Epilogue (Four Years Later)
“Da, I fie!” Lilly Potter Marlston exclaimed, squealing in delight as her little broom hovered a foot off the ground, slowly moving over the immaculate green lawn on the side of her family’s ancestral home. Her shoulder length black curls glistened in the afternoon sun as her green eyes sparkled at Harry, who sat on the ground close by, next to her other father, Draco.
Harry clapped and cheered, “That’s my girl,” proud of his daughter’s agility at the ripe old age of one and a half years.
“Fodder, I fie?” Scorpius Malfoy Marlston asked, standing next to Draco and holding out his little broom. Not wanting to be outdone by his twin, he anxiously stomped a foot on the ground, impatient.
Draco smiled at his son and ruffled his blond hair with his hand. “What did I say about patience, Scorpius?” He laughed as the toddler stomped his foot again and grunted, “No!”
“Don’t tease him, Draco,” Harry admonished. “Come here, Scorp.” Harry took the training broom out of his little hand and muttered a quick charm to make it hover a foot off the ground, just like Lilly’s.
Scorpius clapped and yelled, “Yay, I fie, I fie.”
Draco stood up and lifted him onto the waiting broom. “There you go. Better catch up to your sister.”
“Wiwwy!” Scorpius shouted at her, making sure she noticed he was now moving on his broom toward her.
“Whee,” Lilly laugh, mischief in her eyes, as she tried to turn her broom away from her pursuing brother.
“Those move awfully slow,” Draco frowned. “I think a bit more speed wouldn’t hurt.”
He felt Harry’s hand moving over his calve, tugging on his trousers and urging him to sit back down with him on the lawn. Draco sat as the other man wrapped his arms about him, nuzzling his neck. Draco sighed, content, and watched as Harry lifted one hand toward the children, causing their brooms to turn back in their direction before they got too far away. Then they picked up a bit of speed. The toddlers’ laughter grew as they smacked their hands down on their brooms and yelled, “More, more.”
“Those two are fearless,” Draco smiled, proud of his children’s bravery. “You just watch. I’ll bet they’ll make the Quidditch team in their first year.”
“That’s a bit rare,” Harry muttered against Draco’s neck, enjoying his clean scent and sun warmed hair.
“You did it,” Draco reminded.
Harry laughed softly. “Yeah, thanks to you taking Neville’s Remembrall.”
But Draco wouldn’t accept that his children would be anything less than spectacular. They were beautiful, smart, and already showing magical abilities. They both were able to levitate things they wanted, but couldn’t reach, from high places. He knew without a doubt that the twins would be at the top of the magical world some day.
They relaxed together, watching their children chase one another, their laughter contagious.
“Oh no!” a female voice called out from the side, causing Harry and Draco to jump in surprise.
“Shit,” Harry mutter under his breath.
“How could you?” Hermione frowned angrily as she hurried toward the children on their broomsticks. “How could you two allow this? Didn’t I say this was too dangerous? They are too young to fly!”
“Mudder, I fie!” Scorpius said as Hermione bent down and scooped him up into her arms. She hurried over to Lilly and did the same, holding both toddlers in her arms. Lilly struggled a bit, unhappy to be taken from her broom. “No, I fie!” she cried, hand reaching toward her hovering broomstick.
“I’m sorry, darling, but it’s too dangerous to fly. Maybe in another year…”
“Fie,” she cried, fat tears beginning to fall. Scorpius looked at his sister’s tears and his eyes watered as well.
“Now, now, sweethearts, its nap time and if you sleep well I will have a surprise for you when you wake up,” she crooned, trying to distract them. She threw an angry glance toward Draco and Harry, who guiltily stood up and gathered the brooms.
“Bugger!” Hermione called.
The half-goblin house elf appeared next to her instantly. “Yes, Mistress?”
“Time to put the children down for their nap. ”
Bugger bowed. “Yes, Mistress. ” He waited as Hermione set the children down next to him and took their hands, walking slowly as the children toddled next to him.
“And no sweets,” she called after them. Bugger was notorious for giving the twins whatever they asked for, so wrapped around their little fingers he was. She knew they’d try to finagle some cookies and milk from the faithful old servant.
“Yes, Mistress,” she heard Bugger reply.
“I mean it,” she called again, not quite believing him. He had such a soft spot for the children.
“Yes, Mistress,” came the distant reply.
When they disappeared into the house, Hermione whipped around, hands on her hips. “Didn’t you hear me say that I didn’t want them using those broomsticks until they were older?”
“Love, they were as close to the ground as they would have been if they were walking. How could they possibly be hurt?” Draco replied. He knew it was her own fear of flying that interfered with her rational, but there was no way to make her see this, not when she carried the banner of the protective mother as well.
“But they were moving. They could have been thrown off. The momentum…”
“Again, it was as fast as they can run,” Draco tried.
Harry had his hands in his pocket, watching the exchange with amusement.
Her eyes snapped to him. “What’s so funny? You think the safety of our children is funny?”
“You honestly think we’d put the children in danger?” Harry asked, calmly. “They loved it, Hermione. Didn’t you hear them laughing? We were watching them the whole time. Have some faith in us. ”
“I just… it’s just…,” she struggled. “I can’t stand to see them hurt. I know,” she rolled her eyes, tearing up, “I’m too overprotective, aren’t I? I don’t want them to think I’m no fun. ” As usual, she hated this part of herself. She hated when her fears reared their ugly heads. She wiped at her eyes as Harry and Draco surrounded her with their arms. “Being a parent… it’s not easy, you know. ”
“That’s why you have us, too, love,” Draco said, kissing her temple. “We are all in this together. We are a family. ”
She basked in the warmth of their arms and kissed them both softly. “I know,” she whispered.
“Come on, lets go check on them,” Harry said, pulling them both along.
They went up to the nursery where Bugger was placing a blanket over them. The two toddlers were cuddled up together, sleeping, arms and legs tangled in an embrace as their cheeks touched.
“Bugger, why isn’t Lilly in her own crib?” Hermione asked.
“I tried, Mistress, but Master Scorpius levitates Miss Lilly into his crib,” the servant replied.
“What?” Hermione exclaimed, surprised. “He can levitate his sister?”
Draco smiled. “So powerful already. ”
“They look so sweet together,” Harry whispered. “Let’s not disturb them. ”
The four of them smiled fondly at the twins. They were adorable in their need of one another. Hermione knew twin magic was very powerful and the children would be connected all their lives. She had been doing extensive research on the subject ever since she found out that she was pregnant with twins.
She wondered what part of herself they would have as they both resembled their respective fathers. Lilly had Harry’s dark hair and sparkling green eyes, while Scorpius looked like all Malfoy males, smooth blond hair and grey eyes. Light and dark, cuddled up first in the womb and now in life. Those two were inseparable and did not like to be out of sight of one another. Their emotions were also very connected, as one seemed to feel whatever the other was feeling.
Hermione had also read that it would be good for the twins to be involved in separate classes and activities when they aged. She worried that Lilly and Scorpius would not take to that very well when the day came. But they were still young, so that would be something to deal with at a future time.
She felt Harry’s hand lightly stroking her back and moving to her arse. “Let’s go take our own nap, shall we?” he murmured huskily in her ear.
Hermione smiled softly, her heart filled with love for her family. Her husbands, her children, her friends - there was nothing more she could possibly need than all she had at this moment.
OOOOO
A/N So there you have it - a little glimpse into the future. I haven’t forgot about their seventh year, Legacy of the Pendragons. I just haven’t had the time to devote to that complicated plot at the moment.
One question I have for anyone who has read this epilogue is this: would you like to see a fiction with Lilly and Scorpius Marlston as older teens? I’ve been tossing the idea around in my head about the fiction with these powerful twins, perhaps something on the dark side. And if you would like this, what would you like to see happen?
Fans of What a Witch Needs might remember how this fiction was shaped by the responses of viewers and many people had some great ideas that I incorporated. So if this second generation fiction appeals to you, what would you like to see happen? I’m open to all suggestions at this planning stage.
Thank you, and I hope to hear from you.
