Full House
Blaise groaned as he heard yet another screech from the front room. He went to investigate, but there were too many kids here.
Their front rooms were overflowing with kids again, and he spied poor Caronwen toddling her way through the mayhem.
He swooped in and plucked her up, tucking her under his arm as he tried to find the source of the screeching, but he was almost sure that it had merely been an overexcited child.
“Dad, do you need a hand?” Ethan asked him.
“Can you take your sister for me?” Blaise asked, holding out Caronwen.
“Sure.” The sixteen year old took Caronwen and popped her on his hip.
“Who screeched?” Blaise asked.
“Oh, that was just Eurei. It was playful, Dad.” Ethan insisted, and Blaise finally managed to calm down.
They were just five days from Christmas, they couldn’t really go out to shop to get gifts, so most had been done online, unless they rushed to ask Max to get them things from the supermarkets and retail parks he frequented for their weekly shop, and the one time he’d had to go to Diagon Alley for potion ingredients. That had turned into a three hour trip and Max had come back looking like a pack mule with how many bags he was carrying, despite that all the bags had been shrunken and stuffed into other bags, and with a weightless charm on them too. It wasn’t a wonder that Max hadn’t gone back to Diagon Alley after that, or if he did, then he didn’t announce it to them.
Harry didn’t like any of them going out, though. They had to protect their Faerie twins who were still living at home, and were only ten years old. Blaise understood, he didn’t want to leave the safety of their home either.
At least he hadn’t wanted to leave their home until their ten children still in Hogwarts had come home. It was bad enough their twelve year old triplets had come home weeks early, without all of the other moody, emotional teenagers being home.
Mace in particular was very moody these days. He was seventeen, and almost graduated. He was a fully-fledged dominant Dracken, and he really didn’t like being in his parents’ house because his genes were telling him he should have his own, ready for when he mated.
Blaise closed his eyes and tried to let it go. Their unmated dominant boys were all the same, and they wanted to be out of the house as soon as they could after their inheritances. He had felt the same when he’d had his inheritance, but he had mated young. He’d barely turned seventeen when he’d mated to Harry. Mace was now older than he had been when he’d mated to Harry, but both Max and Nasta had been much older, and they had managed to control themselves, though both admitted that their teenaged years, just after their inheritances, had been the worst, and it hadn’t really calmed down until they had flown the nest and gotten their own spaces.
Blaise hoped that they could survive the next few years with the moody dominant Drackens, but Mace was definitely the worst of them all, and despite Max insisting that it was because Mace was more ready for a mateship, Blaise believed that it was because his twin, Evie, had mated early, just two months after their shared inheritance, which had been almost two years ago now. In fact, their granddaughter, Alexandrine, had turned a year old yesterday.
Blaise scrubbed a hand through his hair and looked around at the carnage. There were too many of them, and that was with some of them being up in the teen lounge, or in their own bedrooms. The younger kids were all overly excited to have their big brothers and sisters home, and Blaise needed a break…or a net.
He slipped into the kitchen and made himself a coffee. He couldn’t decide if Harry and Max had gotten the better end of the deal or if he had, considering they were both upstairs ploughing through the wrapping pile.
“Leo! Leo!”
Blaise looked up as he heard the screeching from the other room, and his eyebrows lowered. He went to investigate yet again, and sure enough their Leolin had come to visit.
“Leolin, how are you?” He asked, embracing the tall, strong, twenty-two year old. He was wearing that damnable sword on his hip again.
“Fine. Things in the city are getting a bit much, so I decided to come home for a few days. I can stay, right?”
Blaise narrowed his eyes on his son. “You don’t even have to ask, Leolin. Don’t let your mother hear you ask either, you know that sort of thing sets him off.”
Leolin grinned. “Where is he?”
“Wrapping gifts, let me go and get him. He’ll be mad if you go in and see something he doesn’t want you too.”
“Where are Cyn and Kallie?”
“In the study room, they’ve got a tutor over.”
“Are they on their own?!” Leolin demanded.
Blaise chuckled. “Your dad Nasta is with them.” Blaise assured gently.
Leolin eased down a little. “I’ll wait until they’re done, then.”
“They won’t be much longer, this is their last session until the New Year.”
“Can I have tea?”
Blaise snorted. “You’re too much like your mother.” He complained, even as he waved at Leolin to sit down and he went to boil the kettle again, thankful that he’d made his own coffee already, so that he could drink it before Nasta came out of the study room.
Their older kids had all been dropping in lately, to drop off gifts for them, for their siblings, and to pick up their own presents. It looked like they’d be keeping Leolin for Christmas though. That would make Harry happy, they didn’t like any of their kids spending the holidays alone. They were expecting Calix to drop in on them too over Christmas, as he didn’t have his own family to celebrate with either. Even if they did have families they always had an open invite to come to dinner, but as with most kids once they’d flown the nest and gotten their own families, they wanted to celebrate at home.
Blaise believed that they just wanted to have Christmas in peace, without a house of forty others all screeching and screaming.
Braiden and Farren both had two children each, with another one on the way in the next year. Eva had three children and was pregnant again, Ave had two children and was expecting twins next year, and their Evie already had a child too. Then there was their oldest grandchild, Nicholas, who was five years old and coming on amazingly well.
Blaise shook his head and made tea, taking the tray into the family room before he went to go and call Harry to tell him that Leolin was staying for Christmas. At the very least it would make Harry so very happy that one of their ‘flown’ children was coming back for Christmas.

A/N: Day 8, and its Blaise’s turn for a bit of torment…even if it is mostly his and his mates’ fault that their house is full to bursting. Kids and grandkids all living under one roof. Nasta did good in making sure they had enough space when he planned out their mansion.
