Harry led Tom to the green parlour as soon as dinner was over, while Severus and Lucius retired to the blue one across the hall.
Tom wrapped an arm around Harry’s waist and leaned in to nibble at his neck. “I can’t wait until you inherit and I have you under me. I’m going to lick you all over, and—”
“That sounds rather explicit. I do not approve.” Severus said.
Tom heaved a sigh and switched to Parseltongue. //I’m going to do things to you—//
“English, please, and change the subject.” Severus’ voice interrupted.
Tom and Harry both turned to glare at the open door and, as one, replied in Parseltongue, //fuck off!//
“That sounded rather uncomplimentary, you two. Do we need to separate you?” Severus asked.
Harry growled. “Come on, let’s go to my room, where we can have privacy.”
“You will not!” Severus snapped.
Harry scowled and got up. “Fine.” He muttered softly, “Since we can’t talk freely, let’s do this!” He planted himself in Tom’s lap and began kissing him.
Tom hummed his approval and joined in eagerly.
Lucius chuckled. “Sounds like you made it worse, old friend.”
“With Harrison, I usually do.” Severus sounded resigned.

Harry sat down in his seat heavily, leaning into Neville. “Wake me when we’re there.” He said tiredly.
“Didn’t you get any sleep last night?” Neville asked.
“Not enough.” Harry answered. “I was too wound up. Marvolo is keeping something from me and I don’t know what it is and it’s interfering with my peace of mind. Sleeping is hard when you’re preoccupied.”
Neville nodded. “Alright, that makes sense.”
Theo came in and sat across from Neville. “If I didn’t know you two were practically brothers, I would be worried about you leaning on him like that.” He told Harry. “Luckily, My Prince, I trust you.”
Harry yawned. “Good for me.”
“He hasn’t been sleeping well. Marvolo is keeping secrets and Harry is taking it hard.” Neville explained.
Theo frowned. “That’s unusual, isn’t it?”
“Very.” Harry confirmed. “He doesn’t usually keep secrets, but I’m hoping it’s nothing bad and letting him have it. If I don’t get told by my birthday, I will start digging then. He has a little time to broach whatever the subject is.”
“I hope it’s nothing bad.” Neville said.
Harry hummed in agreement, then leaned into him more heavily and fell asleep.

Harry was trying to pay attention, really, he was, but Adalrico Bulstrode made Pureblood etiquette so boring.
Still, it beat having Severus and Sirius drag him through all these stupid rules kicking and screaming, so Harry was doing his best so he didn’t have to learn it all over again over the summer.
He had better ways to spend his time.
“Lord Selwyn, do you know your standing?” He asked, jarring Harry out of his stupor.
“Um.” Harry answered. He had learned this from Marcus, if he could just remember what he had said... “Yes.” He said, remembering the details. “I am third in rank, just below the Malfoy family. As the last of my line, I have an obligation to produce at least two magical heirs to the line, and at least one extra each for the Potter and Prince Lordships if I so choose to separate the three.”
Adalrico smiled. “Very good, you have a firm grasp on how this works. I will suggest that you separate those lines as much as you can, because too much power makes someone a target for line theft, as you have learned.” He advised.
Harry nodded his agreement. “Yes, Sir, I plan to.”
“Very good. Now, when dealing with a family of higher standing than your own...”

“I hate Muggle studies!” Draco complained, throwing himself onto the couch, since Harry had taken the chair and out-ranked him in the Hopefuls. He didn’t want to upset the other teen, who seemed moody enough already.
“At least you don’t have to take Pureblood etiquette.” Harry groused over his listing of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, in order of rank. “Does this look right?” He asked, passing the list over.
“Black, Malfoy, Selwyn, Lestrange...” Draco’s eyes ran down the rest of the list as he mouthed the surnames. “Weasley are not last. Gaunt are. Weasley are second-to-last.”
Harry snorted. “Marvolo will be so upset.” He said, fixing the list after Draco handed it back.
“Yes, well, his family sunk low.” Draco muttered. “Never tell him I said that, of course.”
“Of course not. He won’t hear it from me.” Harry assured him.
“You’re going to send someone else to relay that I said that, aren’t you?” Draco asked suspiciously.
“Would I do that?” Harry asked sweetly.
Draco glared. “Yes.” He said.
“Promise I won’t.”
“Alright. Now, what is ‘electricity?’”
Harry laughed and settled in to help Draco understand the Muggle way of life.

Sirius was a riot in History of Magic.
“...and then snake-face aimed his wand at Prongslet here,” He pointed his wand at Harry, “and bam, right in the kisser! Spell backfired, blew him into dust, and Harry was left all alone. He should have gone to his Dad at that point, but Dumbledumb sealed Lily and James’ wills and he was left elsewhere. We had peace for, oh, thirteen years, most of which I was locked up for, so I can’t relay any first-hand evidence except that Dementors suck balls, but then last year, snake-face made his grand reappearance!”
The class was in stitches, and Sirius was thriving on the hilarity. He was truly in his element.

The next couple of months passed quickly, and before the students knew it, it was time for OWLs and NEWTs.
Harry was stressed, but he completed his tests as best he could, doing well on the practicals at the very least, and after his final test, he headed down to see his father to complain about how wrung-out his brain felt.
He found that Severus was not in his rooms, and he found the man in his lab, toiling over two potions. “What are those?” He asked.
“Polyjuice,” Severus pointed to one, “And your mate’s special potion for the event over the summer. 5-hour duration.”
Harry frowned. “Okay, but why? And what event?”
Severus looked up in surprise. “He didn’t explain...? Clearly not. Go talk to that idiot and have him tell you what stupid plan he has come up with to clear his name.” He said in irritation.
Harry frowned and left the room, heading to Tom’s rooms. He went in and found the man grading tests. “What stupid plan is Dad talking about that he’s brewing potions for?”
Tom huffed. “Of course he told you!” He set his quill down. “I had an idea. We need to stage a fight this summer, preferably right after school lets out, and you need to pick one of your group to pretend to be you. You will pretend to be me, I will take a potion to make me look like I used to, and you will ‘kill’ me. We need to test how to make it look real, but as I have horcruxes still, if we make a mistake, you will just have to help me come back. It wasn’t too hard last time.” He said lightly.
Harry stared at him for long moments. “So that’s what you’ve been keeping from me: your stupidity.”
“It will work!” Tom snapped.
“What if it doesn’t?!” Harry shot back. “I’m not going to kill you!”
“Which is exactly why it should work; your heart won’t be in it!”
Harry groaned. “I can’t believe you!”
“If you won’t do it, your father has agreed to play as me, and we will find a substitute for you.” Tom said evenly.
“That would never work; we need another Parselmouth.”
“Slytherin’s locket, one of my horcruxes, bestows the gift. And it has not been destroyed yet.” Tom revealed.
Harry nodded. “Fine, I’ll do it.”
Tom smiled. “Good choice. Come here and cuddle me. I’ve had a trying day.”
Harry laughed and went to sit on his lap. He looked down at the test he was grading and laughed. “She thinks pixies are dangerous?”
“They can be, but not to the extent she thinks they are.” Tom agreed. “I fear this will have to receive an A.” He sighed. “Two of the Slytherins already have earned Ts.”
“Troll?” Harry whispered. “Who?”
“I shouldn’t tell you.” Tom said reluctantly.
“If you want them to improve, you should. I can tutor them next year.” Harry offered.
Tom frowned. “I won’t be here next year.”
Harry gaped at him. “What?! But why not?!”
“This whole plan is so I can be a hero and ease my way into the Ministry. I plan to run for Minister next year, while you are here with your Hopefuls and father to guard you. With Dumbledore removed, there is little risk now.”
“The seventh-years still don’t like me.” Harry told him.
“And they will be dealt with by your father, but you hardly need protection from those only one year older than you; you are resourceful, powerful, and have a strong support system. You will be fine.” Tom assured him.
Harry pouted. “I’ll miss you.”
Tom lifted his chin with a finger and kissed him gently. “I will visit you, My Love. And you will be learning to Apparate before we enact my plan; you will be able to sneak out and visit me if you feel you must. I will never turn you away.”
“I hate the plan already.”
Tom laughed. “It is necessary. Besides, Luna has suggested that you may inherit as early as this summer. If you do, we will need to share quarters here. The bond requires closeness for at least the first year.”
“Oh. Well, that’s good, then.”
“Go spend some time with Neville and your other friends. Have fun for the rest of the week. You will have a lot to do once you leave Hogwarts for the summer.”
Harry groaned, getting up and heading toward the door. “Work, work, work. That will be my summer.”
Tom smirked. “Oh, but if you do inherit, I will make sure that work is most enjoyable.” He purred.
Harry flushed and left in a hurry.
