Close to a centar {hour} later, they entered the office he and Harry shared. As soon as the door hissed closed behind the last person, two pairs of arms wrapped around him, both men knowing just how tense he still was.
"Sh...we have you," came the whisper into his ear.
Uncle Zac.
"It's okay, Rory," came from the second man holding him. "We have you, my nephew. Just let go of your anger. Let yourself relax."
"Uncle Zac. Uncle Apollo," he breathed, leaning into the two of them, letting them hold him, give him what comfort they could.
"Hush," Zac said softly, tightening his hold around him slightly. "Just be quiet a few microns {seconds}. Clear your mind. Let whatever it is go. You are not alone, Roark."
Roark did just that. He stood silently in their arms, his head resting against Apollo's chest, his eyes closed. Slowly his mind cleared, his anger...his frustration...everything just melted away, allowing him to relax, if only for a few moments.
Finally, they released him, both immediately reaching out as he lifted his head, watching them grab Harry and pull him into the same hug they had had Roark in. "Bright Kobol, how we have missed you."
"Just as we've missed the two of you," Zac told him as he released Harry to turn and smile at him.
"Agreed. Two yahrens {years} is two yahren too long to have been separated from you two scamps and your antics."
They both chuckled at one of the many nicknames they had been given, Roark stepping back from them, his arms lifting. "Well, Captain, Lieutenant?" he asked of them. "What think you?"
They both looked at him closely, noting more than a few changes their youngest nephew had gone through since they had last seen him nearly two yahren {year} ago. He had, they both saw, lost some weight, and he looked more tired than he usually did. It was as their eyes rose to meet his, however, that the biggest change hit them, making them look at each other.
A lover.
Great Lords of Kobol, they each thought, hiding their surprise from him. Their innocent little nephew had a lover. "Well," Zac began into the silence of the room, everyone waiting patiently. "I know one thing. That Port Manager was right. You are stunningly gorgeous."
"Uncle Zac," he said, his head dipping, face flushing with embarrassment. He turned away to go to his desk.
So, who was he? they both found themselves wondering. Who was this man who had sexually awakened their beloved nephew? Or, more to the point, who was this man their nephew was in love with?
"Harry," Apollo said as the two turned to look at him. "I trust you are well?"
Harry grinned. "Never better, Uncle," he said, meeting both their eyes, however briefly, knowing they saw the same thing in his eyes that they had seen in Roark's. "Am I right in thinking we have Grandfather, Admiral Roark, Commander Thorin, and the other three to blame for all of you being here?"
"You do," Greyson answered as he moved to lean a hip against a corner of Harry's desk. "After reading the reports that Roark sent home, and hearing Logan and Kili's verbal accounts, how could they NOT send us? And how could we not come?"
"Especially after two attempts were made on Logan and Kili's lives," Dylan told them.
Roark looked around the room. "They're furious with me, aren't they?"
"Did you really expect them not to be?" Sebastien asked of him as he shook his head. "Well, they definitely weren't happy that you tried to keep them from returning after they had finished looking into what you needed them to. On the other hand, they DID understand the moves you made behind their backs." He met his eyes, held them. "As do we."
"Rory," Harry turned in his chair to look at his brother, "I asked you at the Spaceport, now I'm demanding. Just WHAT, exactly, did you do?"
A sigh as he turned his head to look at him. "I asked grandfather if he could see about getting them both posted to either the Galactica or the Solaria."
Harry stared at him for a moment, then began to shake his head. "No WONDER they aren't happy with you. I wouldn't be either if you pulled something like that with me."
"HELLO?! Standing right here!" Kili snapped out, looking at them with a frown,
Roark's head snapped around to look at him, meeting his dark brown eyes. "I AM sorry, Ki, but I honestly believed it was the right thing to do. Given what our circumstances were...that we had lost our entire team...I just couldn't see losing the two of you. Nor could your family." He gave a nod to the bandaged shoulder. "Will you be alright?"
"Just don't do something like that again. Logan and I don't need to be protected, and yes, I'm alright. It was only a scratch. It was the poison that did the most damage."
"I DO hope he is dead, Kili."
An almost feral-looking grin appeared. "Oh yes, Harry, dead as dead can be after Dad got done with him."
Chuckles all around. "Well, that's good, but you both still have active contracts out on you. I am not at all happy that you came back here, though I understand not leaving a job undone feeling, there have been more attempts on all of our lives and more close calls than I care to think about."
"I thought Rodolphus and Rabastan had the sole contract on you and Harry?"
"They do, Damien, and as they like to remind us every time they see us in the City Square, those contracts will not stop other Terminators who are looking to get into Tom Riddle's good graces, from trying to take us out. Come to think of it," he said with a shake of his head. "Rodolphus HAS been looking exceedingly pleased with himself of late."
"Hum...mm," Harry's head tilted slightly, looking thoughtful, then he grinned. "Now that I think about it, so has Rabastan."
"Why is that, do you think?"
"Probably because they get to deal with the stupid idiots when they fail." He chuckled suddenly. "Those two DO love their jobs, and it's made things a bit better for me and Harry."
"How so?"
"Well, in Rodolphus' words, 'I'm so busy dealing with all the idiots taking potshots at you, I don't have the time to deal with you as you deserve to be dealt with. As long as this keeps up at regular intervals, the longer you and your brother continue to live.' It's a win-win, as far as we're both concerned. I get to keep living and working to destroy Riddle, and he gets to deal with incompetent, moronic Terminators."
"Rabastan has pretty much told me the same thing," a smirk, "All the while rubbing his hands together and grinning manically. He even told me once that he wished Bellatrix would try so that he could finally deal with the crazy bitch."
"Ah...well then, as long as they're both happy. They really don't like her, do they?" Suddenly, Kili's brow shot up and he looked from one brother to the other. "So you see them quite often do you?"
Shrugs. "Often enough. They like to keep us informed on what's happening on their front. We also never did find those disks Tristyn spoke off."
"Of course you didn't. Did you really expect to?"
"No, not really, but I thought we'd keep looking all the same, just on the off chance we did come across them. Anyway, that was only a very small part of why I wanted to keep you and Logan out of here. We KNOW Ardyn is our leak. We know that he murdered Kale, ordered Tristyn's murder, and that he was the one that hired the Terminators that followed you and Logan to Caprica. "
"There is just this little matter of proof." Harry said as soon as Roark finished. "We can't arrest him on circumstantial evidence, and that's all we have. He's covered his tracks very well."
