Chapter 58 ~ Goings On

Chapter Fifty-Eight

Goings On

Dear Remus,

It was such a surprise and a delight seeing you in Hogsmede yesterday. I do wish we’d had some time to say more than a quick hello but you know Professor Flitwick and his Apparitions lessons. I already have my license, thanks to you, but I think having the extra practice is good. Of course, Won-Won would have butted in and we wouldn’t have time for more than a hello anyway since he’s telling the world all about being Keeper for Gryffindor even though he’s not exactly the best Keeper they’ve ever had. If I ever hear anyone call Ronald Weasley “Won-Won” again I may just end up in Azkaban for casting Unforgiveables.  “Ronald” isn’t exactly an attractive name but “Won-Won” just makes it worse. Harry is doing fine with his lessons with Dumbledore. He’s not saying much about them but I think they are really helping him grow up. I worry so much for him.

I’m so jittery. It’s growing every day. I feel like I’m missing something – some vital clue in a puzzle that I don’t even own. I suppose it has something to do with the Horcruxes.  I don’t even know what I should be preparing for. I’m sure I should be preparing for something, though. I’m reading a book about lifesaving spells, plants, and potions since I can’t think of anything else to do. I hope I never have to use any of this but I assume that I will.

We found out that Draco Malfoy is using the Room of Requirement. What do you think that means? It can’t be good. He also seems to have managed to lock the door. I’ve been looking for a spell to open it but I can’t find one. Ideas?

Love,

Hermione

Dear Hermione,

Seeing you again – even if it was just for a bit of a wave --- was very nice. Thank you for doing so. Many are afraid even say hello so it’s nice to be remembered in public. I do remember Professor Flitwick speaking of the interesting adventures his classes got up to! Did you know that Peter splinched his first and second times? He was so nervous that he tried to go home, as well as to the fountain. It was a mess! Filius said that there are one or two each year. Was it Neville? We always assumed it’d be Neville, that poor kid (I always assumed his grandmother put a hex on him to keep him from running off to fight evil like his parents).

Won-Won isn’t the best name choice for a young man, even a keeper, but I can’t say that I’m one to complain about a name. My parents weren’t high on originality. My mother, being Muggle, thought it was terribly clever and my father was too busy irritating non-humans to be bothered with another choice since he had a similar name (challenge for when you’re bored – find it!).

Harry is keeping in sporadic touch with Sirius, which is a comfort. I admit to worry myself but while he’s under Dumbledore’s care he is in the safest place possible. I also worry for you and hope that you’ll stay safe on school grounds, as well. Yes, I know that you’re learning some excellent defense spells, but not having to use them is far better than the alternative.

Draco Malfoy has me concerned. Have you told Professors Dumbledore or McGonagall? Knowing you, I’m sure not. I will mention it in the next Order meeting. In the meantime, CAREFULLY try "Geenclos", "Antiser", or "Desbloquejaràs". Do not get caught and be sure to have Harry and Won Ron with you just in case.

There’s nothing new here. Sirius and Jasmine are deliriously in love. As happy for him as I am, all of that cooing is getting sickening. I miss having my own home to escape to. Arielle is, as always, a treasure, and I find that reading to her – or being read to at this point --- is great fun. I also find that I am quite brilliant at playing dolls, as I’m willing to use different voices with them. Are all young girls like this? Do they ever go out of it? Do you still play with dolls?

With love,

Remus
