Title: The Law of Horus

Rating: R

Summery: Takes place during Harry�s 6^th year. A new law during the summer places Hermione in situation that she doesn�t want to be in. It�s called the Law of Horus, a marriage law to try to save the wizarding world. This law takes her to places that she�s never been before and she finds hope in the most unusual places.

Chapter Seven: Horus Strikes

� Never in all my time at Hogwarts have I seen such disgraceful behavior from my own students,� hissed Snape in the Great Hall that night at dinner. Pansy, Vincent, Gregory, and Draco were standing in front of the staff table. � As a result of your actions, you�re expelled from Hogwarts.�

� What!� Yelled the four.

� Don�t what me,� hissed Snape. � You attacked my wife and attacking a pure-blood�s wife is the most disgusting thing that a student can do. I want you out of here tonight.�
Professor Dumbledore stood up and walked over to them. He didn�t have a twinkle in his eyes, but they were filled with the same fire that Harry had seen on more then one occasion.

� Hand in your wands,� he ordered. They pulled out their wands and Dumble gae gave them a wave and they were gone. That night the carriages took them away and everyone at Hogwarts breathed a sigh of relief.

� You did the best thing,� said Tonks. � They attacked your wife.�
� I know that,� Snape hissed. � I just never thought that I would become attached to her so easily.� Tonks smiled at him and then left him to his thoughts. When he returned he saw that Hermione was busy reading her Transfiguration book. When she saw him she raced over and hugged him.

� I heard what happened,� she said, her voice small. � I�m glad there gone.�
� I know you are. It�s just I�ve never actually expelled anyone before.� She smiled at him.

� You�re the Head of House and that�s your job,� she explained. � I wouldn�t have expected you to do anything less.�

� Thanks.�

� Oh so how did the whole speech that I wrote go. I mean I worked really hard on it, seeing that you were more worried about other things at the time.�
� It was well written,� he admitted. � I thank you.�

� It was nothing,� she said, smiling. � So how did Harry and Ron take the whole expulsion thing?�

� I don�t know, never asked. Of course I�m not to trilled about the idea of having to talk to them, period. They are still a pain.� Hermione giggled and suddenly a loud pop appeared and there was food on the table.
� Who sent this?� Hermione asked. Severus took the note and opening it, groaned. � Well.�

� You read it.� She took it and smiled.
Dear Hermione and Snape (if your there),
Dumbledore requested this to come down. He was really worried about you and didn�t want you to starve to death. Enjoy.

P.S! Professor McGonagall refused to include lemon drops, or anything else that had lemons in it.

Hermione put the letter down and started at once on the food that they had given her. It was all fried, which she loved. She popped a French fry in and moaned.

� This is good,� she commented. � Love this stuff.�

� Yes and gain seven pounds in the process,� he remarked. Hermione again giggled and continued to eat the dinner that had been given her.
� Why don�t they serve this in the Great Hall?� Hermione asked, when she had finished her first portion of food.

� Because we believe in a balance meal,� said Severus. � This isn�t balance.�

� Well they need to change thing a bit,� she told him. � I don�t like to much balance in my life.� She took a long drink from her strawberry shake.
� Well I�m more worried about next month,� Severus said. � Next month we�ll be married for two months and that�s when the Ministry finds out if you�re with child yet.� Hermione scowled at this.

� Well I can tthe the Ministry were they can go,� she hissed. � Anyway I don�t know if I would have those horrible spells that women have or not.�

� Well we can find out tomorrow, if you want?�
� That would be great,� said Hermione. � I would really like to know, and then Fudge can leave us alone.� Severus sighed.

� He won�t until Poppy tells him that the child is magical.� Hermione did a wonderful impression of a cat�s hiss at those words.

� Fudge this, Fudge that, Fudge can take Fudge and shove up where the sun don�t shine.� And for the first time Severus Snape did something that Severus Snape never did, he laughed.
The next morning they both went to see Madam Pomfrey to check if she was in fact with child. She was so nervous about the whole thing that she paced more then she sat down. Finally the nurse appeared.

� Follow me,� she ordered. � You stay,� she told Severus. Both women disappeared behind the curtain and he had to wait.

� Hay Severus what are you doing here?� Remus asked.

� Finding out if Fudge will be leaving us alone,� Severus muttered. � What are you doing here?�
� Oh nothing much. Professor Dumbledore wants to give me the position of Care of Magical Creatures teacher. I told him that I would take it.� Severus moaned about this. What he needed another year of making the potion for him. When Madam Pomfrey appeared she motioned for Severus to come around the curtain, while Remus was allowed to talk to Hermione.
� So what is the verdict? He asked.

� She�s pregnant,� Poppy, answered, a smile on her face. � However if it�s magical I won�t know until the third month, along with what sex the child will be. I think that you two should get ready for that day to arrive.�

� Thanks,� said Severus.

� Oh by the way are their twins in your family?�
Professors Dumbledand and McGonagall were thrilled at the news, at least in the minds eye of Dumbledore Fudge wouldn�t have his way. However news that Hermione was expecting managed to escape all in part to a very nosy painting of Professor Dippet. The Gryffindors were torn between happiness and horror at the fact that another Snape would be with their kids when they went off to Hogwarts.

� They should ban that family from attending,� hissed Dean. � The Snape�s are the worst wizarding family ever.�
� I think it�s sweet,� said Lavender and Ginny, both who started to giggle madly.

� At least Hermione won�t have to worry about being married off to Malfoy,� Harry told Ron a week after the news had reached the school.

� Ya and we know how bad that would be.�

� I wonder what old Malfoy is doing right now?� Asked Harry.

� No idea.� However at that moment Harry�s words were coming true. Draco had heard about the Snape family fulling the qualifications and was now hopping mad.
� I�ll get you for this Snape,� he hissed. � If it�s another thing coming. I�ll kill you all and then I�ll kill that stupid boy that you�re trying to protect.�
