The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzy

The hallway was dead silent for a moment and then Sirus and James exploded at once "Why the hell is he here?" "What the fuck!" Hermione wasn't sure which boy said what though she did notice that Remus and Peter kept their mouths shut.

"Because," she paused for dramatic effect, "one, I want him here, two he is even better at Potions then I am, three he can help acquire the ingredients we need, and four did I mention I want him here." She gave Sirus and James a haunting looks."You were given the choice of inviting Lily, you didn't want to James, and the rest of you don't really have anyone in your life you trust to that degree," She turned back to Severus making eye contact, "I on the other hand would trust Severus Snape with my life."

This seemed to end the argument although more out of shock then lack of protest but she would take it and be grateful. Hermione walked back and forth in front of the wall across from the tapestry and thought of a safe place to brew the potion and meditate to become Animagus, suddenly a door materialized. She beamed at the started look on the faces of the boys and was not at all surprised by the look of boredom that was on Severus' face. "After you guys."

The room was done like a meadow and it took Hermione a moment to realize the room had given her the Barrow. Her heart suddenly hurt, home, how she missed her friends. She loved these people and was more then happy to be there friends but she would always miss Ron and Harry the rest of the Wesleys and 'her' Remus, McGonagal, Dumbledore, and Sirus. Silently Lupin put a hand on her shoulder surprising her and bringing her back to reality, "Sorry," he mumbled, "you left us for a moment."

Hermione smiled a little shakily, "Nothing to be sorry for I was just thinking." she studied the room the meadow was great relaxing and calm but where would they brew? Suddenly the back wall Transformed into there own little piece of dungeon complete with a table and shelves for the ingredients. Her smile grew more firm, "Alright, lets discuss how to acquire the ingredients and then we will begin practicing meditating." She turned to face the boys.there was a large blanket spread out on the grass and taking off her shoes she settle comfortably on it.

The boys eyed each other but shrugged and settled down as well, Severus eyed them all before choosing to sit on the grass near the blanket but not on. "Severus." Hermione looked at him as if he had just made some grave offense.

"Alright," He huffed moving onto the blanket giving the Marauders a death glare to rival all others when they dared chuckle at him.

"That's better," Hermione said with a smile, "Now what we need,"....

The conversation developed for the next hour or so plans on how to acquire the ingredients most of which could be found in the stores in the dungens the only things they would need to retrieve from a store were Three scales from a Kappa, and a cup of a phoenix's rebirth ashes.

"I think we should conclude with practiced meditation." Severus said with a slightly relaxed air. Hermione agreed they had been at it for hours and she was tired but to her surprised it was Remus who agreed first causing the rest of the Marauders to eye him and Hermione to smile.

So it went they worked on meditating and acquired the ingredients needed except for the Kappa scales and the phoenix ash. When all the ingredients had been gathered except the last two they began looking more thoroughly at how to acquire those.

At dinner about half way threw October Peter received a letter and let out an excited squeak. "We have to meet." he said before almost running out of the hall letter clutched in hand. The boys looked at each other and rose to fallow almost running over Severus and Hermione on the way in from the library on there way out. "C0ME ON!" Peter yelled down the stairs flying up another stair case faster then the others believed was possible. The whole group ran after him they walked in front of the wall the door appearing almost instantly they all walked in to see Peter placing a vile on the self with the rest of the ingredients.

"Peter, how did you-" Hermione asked still mildly in shock over coming across the puggy boy supplying what they needed.

"My mom, it took a little convincing and I didn't want to say til I was sure but she got them." His beaming smile spoke volumes about what it truly meant to him to finally participate in the true adventure part of becoming an Animugus.

"We had better go back to dinner we're bound to have made everyone curious with that exit." Sirus said with a smirk.

"Black is right," Severus said with a smirk of his own inside he was elated one step closer to the potion. He studied Hermione as she looked at the scales before placing a status charm on them. "Are you coming Hermione?" The others had already left the room.

"I'll be along in a moment Severus I want to read up on this," she plucked a book from one of the shelves and he sighed knowing it would be hours before she was done. He exited and walked down the hall. Not even five minutes later Hermione fallowed him satisfied that Peter had actually managed to acquire the real ingredient. She was about to round the corner when she heard Malfoy speaking to someone.

"We do not like the amount of time you have been spending with that Mudblood Severus. Have you changed your mind already, given up so easily on vengeance for the next pretty face, your love for her is a joke you know everyone says so, she will pick that half blood Lupin before you every time, have you not noticed the looks they give each other it would surprise me if they weren't already lovers using you for what ever it is they need." His voice was cold like ice causing her to gasp and back away from them. She walked into a podium holding a vase which shattered upon the floor and she was running.

She ducked back into the room of requirement only now it was jumbled with all kinds of things. she ran down one row and then the next and another becoming thoroughly lost. Finally stopping to catch her breath she looked around her and sucked in a breath there right in front of her was Ravenclaw's Didam. she took a rag off of a near by chest of drawers and reached for the Didam. Looking down at it and franticly thinking what next.

Dumbledore. He would have the answer. So finding her way back to the entrance and peaking out to make sure she was a lone she quickly found her way to his office knocking at his door. "Professor, Professor Dumbledore please!"

Suddenly the door opened and there he stood hat slightly ascue and breathing a little heavy. "Ms. Granger is everything alright?"

With out preamble or permission she pushed past him into the office. "I have found one of the things I was looking for and I don't know what to do now but I knew that you would, you're Dumbledore if you don't have an answer you find one, or make one, or- I don't know but,-" She paused finally looking around her environment there on a bird perch sat Faux eyeing her with curiosity, "Of course why didn't I think about it I should have come to you weeks ago. She turned to face a very puzzled twinkly eyed Dumbledore. "I think my dear you will need to explain just a little bit better."

Hermione paused wondering what she could say and what she couldn't. "Tom made Horcuxs and I have to destroy the ones I can."

Dumbledore eyed her for a moment before nodding, "That is not all I have a feeling." It was a question with out a question.

Unwrapping the didam she held it out to him, "He used powerful things from the founders. This is one of six that I know of."

Dumbledore studied the didam before taking it and placing it in a self behind a shelf. "It will remain safe there until we can devise a way to distroy it, can you possibly tell me what else you are looking for I may be able to help."

"Well." She thought for a little while. "Marvolo Gaunt's ring, you are the one that found it and destroyed it. Slytherin's Locket, which is in a cave or Grimmauld Place I'm not sure it depends on the time it was taken, Hufflepuff's Cup, it was in Lestrange's vault although I can almost guarantee it isn't there yet and I don't know where it would be before that. Also Tom's Snake he wouldn't have made that yet. Um o the Diary! Of course he would have made that one already although that may still be in his possession or Malfoy may have it we destroyed that one when he tried to...oh sorry I can't say but um that's about all I know."

Dumbledore seemed to digest this for a moment. "Alright then, is there anything I can help you with, while I try and find more information on these things?" Hermione looked from him to Faux. "would you happen to have a cup of Faux's ashes?" and to her complete and utter astonishment it was that easy. She had the ashes the didam and was well on her way to saving the world.

Im not a fan of this chapter is is sort of kind of all over the place. The next chapeter will be from Severus' point of view and it will start from Lucius conversation. and I have none of that writen but the chapeter after that is half writen because I heard a song and just had to... I look forward to posting that I'm pretty sure that will help speed me along... Hope you guys are enjoying my crazy story I swear it will get to a relationship with them just taking longer then I thought...
