Sorry I didn't manage to get another chapter up last night. I realised how far behind I was on my reading lol but to make it up to you I worked on this chapter while I was in work today, so don't tell my boss. Any and all reviews welcome! :)

lemondropfan64 - Defiantly my Slytherin side hehe. I don't think i'll introduce another prophecy but there has already been mention of Fawkes waiting for this moment, so I guess it's more of a legend than a prophecy that will be covered and privacy will come soon, but sorry not this chapter.

The Undiscovered - I hope you still love him after this chapter.

Chapter 6 – A Step too far

Severus groaned at the annoying little house elf. ‘This is just what we need’ he thought.

‘Play nice Sev’ Harry lightly reprimanded him and placing a kiss on his nose.

“Dobby, not that I’m not happy to see you but why are you here?” asked Harry.

“I is here to serve the great Mr Lord Harry Potter-Snape Phoenix Sir! Mr Fawkes gaves Dobby the phoenix brand, I’s can senses when you need me sir! Dobby can be here’s all dayes everydayes, at any point, whenever needed, always ready Mr Lord Harry Potter-Snape Phoenix Sir!” After this lengthy explanation Dobby promptly bent over and flashed his bottom to the bonded pair.

“Argh! Dobby! Cover yourself!” Severus screamed! “My eyes! My eyes!”

On the other hand Harry couldn’t believe what he was seeing. On Dobby’s let butt cheek was a brand in the shape of a phoenix in flight. Harry rounded on the sniggering Fawkes. ‘How dare you brand Dobby! How dare you brand anyone! What right to do you have to used that symbol?! MY symbol! YOUR Lord’s symbol! Only I should ever use it. How. Dare. YOU!!’ he roared at him breathing heavily. During his rant the room had gone absolutely quite. Dobby was looking over his shoulder, still flashing his butt, and looking at Harry with a mixture of awe and trepidation. Severus, forgetting for the moment about Dobby’s butt that was dangerously close to his face, was watching Harry with unadulterated lust in his eyes. He was magnificent, muscles rippling under his skin close to the surface. Fire started to dance along his skin, starting at his finger tips, curling round his hands and spreading up his arms and finally wrapping around his whole body. The flame was fuelled by his anger.

Fawkes gulped. He knew he’d gone too far and he was going to pay but he wouldn’t look away, he wouldn’t miss the first blaze for anything.

Harry erupted in an almighty flash blinding Dobby and Severus momentarily. Harry was no longer in the room. In his place was a majestic and breathtaking phoenix. The largest one he’d ever seen and the flames were still lashing over its body. Without another word Harry swooped at Fawkes and clutched his wings in his giant talons. Fawkes whimpered and lowered his eyes knowing he was in trouble. With that Harry or should I say the Phoenix Lord flashed out of the room with Fawkes in his grasp.

“For all that is holy, will you please cover your arse Dobby!” Severus muttered.

Fawkes couldn’t believe where he was. He’d only heard about this place in the legends of his kind. This was the place where fire was born, where phoenix’s were created. The walls were made of solid fire as was everything else in the room. He didn’t think that his Lord would have known about this place yet but he guessed that he gained certain knowledge when he transformed. This wasn’t looking too good for him. He could still feel the anger pulsing off his Lord. It didn’t help that he was being kept in a cage made entirely of fire and he was trying to keep his feathers away from the bars. You see, normally fire can’t harm a phoenix, but if a fire cage is created by the Phoenix Lord than it can. It’s not a pleasant feeling to have your feathers singed, especially when you’ve never felt anything like it before because the flames have always been your friends. For the first time in his life he was scared of the fire.

Harry could sense the thoughts running through Fawkes’s mind and feel his emotions. His fear helped calm Harry down, helped ground him again. He didn’t want this, didn’t want to be someone… something people feared. He just wanted his mate. Wanted his human body back and wanted to feel Sev’s arms around him again. He let out a heart-rending trill and visually seemed to slump.

Sensing what was wrong, Fawkes sent out a wave of peace at Harry. Which caused him to look over at the fire caged before he dismissed it with a wave of his giant wings. Fawkes immediately flew over to Harry and nudged him gently with his beak, letting him know that everything is okay. ‘It will all work out My Lord. You can easily go back to your mate and change back with only a thought. It’s that simple. I’m sorry about the brand. Truly I am. I never wanted you to get angry about it. There are others out there worthy of the mark and a few who actually have a bit of phoenix in them, they just need you to bring it out in them.’

Harry just sighed, ‘Let get out of here. You can tell me about the others later. I’m too tired and I just want Sev’ and with that he flashed away with Fawkes.

Severus was staring into his fire place watching the flames. He never realised how beautiful they were before. They reminded him of his Harry. Oh how it felt so good to be able to say that. He wasn’t going to be alone anymore and he was going to have a family. But first the Dark Lord had to go. There was no way he was going to let him harm his mate or his child and the old man wasn’t going to be able to interfere either.

While he was thinking of ways to help his mate Harry flashed back into the room startling Dobby who was sleeping on the sofa. Harry didn’t waste a minute before transforming back to his human form and rushing to Severus and jumping into his arms.

“Are you ok my little spark?” he asked the man curled up on his lap.

Harry gave Severus a funny look that made him look like he was sucking on a lemon. “Little spark? I don’t like that one Sev. Think of something else and I’m fine.”

“Luv, clearly something is wrong; you’re never fine when you say that. Talk to me… or don’t you trust me?” he asked while giving Harry puppy dog eyes.

Harry sighed, “I hope you know you won’t be allowed to use that line again anytime soon? Of course I trust you Sev. I missed you. I was so angry… I don’t want to feel like that again, I don’t want to turn into HIM. Love me?” he pleaded.

Severus couldn’t deny him anything so pulled him closer and tenderly kissed him. “Always Harry, always” he said in-between kisses.

“Dobby be going to Hoggywarts and be making you’s quarters he be. Will be best quarters. Best in all of Hoggywarts. I is moving both your things I is. All nicely moved they’ll be!” he announced before snapping his fingers and disappearing.

Severus broke the kiss and looked at the place where Dobby once was. “He better not have said he was moving my things! All my ingredients! He’ll ruin them! OMG! I have to stop him! Come on Harry, quick!” and with that he grabbed Harry around the waist and apperated to the gates of Hogwarts.
