Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Poter, I make no money off of this. I write for fun. This wonderful series of books is written by the fantastic JK Rowling. |
Ok, first let me answer some reviews here.
Unneeded, yes this is supposed to be a marriage from hell XD! But I assure you it gets better.
FolkloreForlorn Thank you very much! This is my first Harry Potter fiction and my real first 'fanfiction'. I usually write originals and was a little worried about the format. There is a chance Mai won't end up with Draco and if she does then something drastic will happen to make him see the error of his ways. There won't be many more violent bloody rapes (if any) but there will be at the very least some dubious consent. Unfortunately this story won't be happy for quite the while as both men she could end up with have major issues.
purefaith91 Haha I'll see what a couple others think but I really am leaning toward the Snape plot. It won't go just like that actually and it won't be so happy right off of the bat but it'll get there! Snape has major issues just like Mai and it would be weird to me if he got right over his entire personality and started to love Mai. And LOL pothead is a funny word. He isn't particularly a pothead as he doesn't smoke that much. In this story Snape can have a bit of a temper and he drinks and smokes lightly to take the edge off of it and keep himself under control. In this story it is also not illegal in the wizard world so he breaks no rules XD. Thank you for your kind review and I hope I do not disappoint!
I also want you to note that Draco isn't a monster. He was rash and violent but he DID have to have sex with her that night or the contract wouldn't work. I will explain more extensively later on.
Draco Malfoy had a shitty day. It was but 7:43 and he had already declared that this was a shitty day. For one thing, he like a little pussy, he'd run from the room after raping his wife. He'd slept fitfully in the next room over. Not only had he bedded a virgin but he RAPED her. Treating a woman with... experience like that was one thing, it could rarely cause damage. Treating a virgin like that could very well damage her womb for the rest of her days... and Draco was going to have children if it killed them. Now to top it off there was nothing to do at work. Could you imagine?! He'd been gone from his job for over a month and upon arrival his secretary said he had no formal work to do and proceeded to flirt with him! She practically begged him to fuck her so he threw her over her desk and played with her a bit. It didn't turn him on. Nothing turned him on. All he could see was his wife, and that this WASN'T her. In an angry huff he'd smacked her ass and fired her on the spot, storming out his office to see his father at the ministry.
He sat perched in a high back leather chair, as though nothing had ever happened and he had never left the position. His hair was tied back into a thick pony tail behind his head and he was bent over a massive stack of papers swearing under his breath. On his right side was a half empty bottle of Ogden's and he was clutching a crystal glass with all his might. Alcohol was a shared love between the two men and Draco didn't dare speak out his arrival. He simply stood in the door until his father became aware of his looming presence. The grey, dilated eyes of Malfoy senior raised from the parchment, "Draco? What the devil are you doing here? You're supposed to be on your honeymoon." He stated bluntly. Draco was sure by now that his father had not slept last night and instead spent the time nursing glass after glass of firewhiskey. He slumped into a chair and caught the bottle that his father carelessly threw his way, taking a crude swig off of the bottle itself. "Damn boy was she that bad of a lay? With that ass I would have thought-" He stopped talking at the deadly possessive glare his son was giving him. Obviously the quality of sex was not his issue and he'd taken offense. The older man gave a sigh, "What do you want Draco?" The sound of his father's voice did nothing to settle his teetering nerves. "Irapedherandshewasavirgin!" Draco blurted before slapping his hands over his mouth like a toddler who'd just told on their best friend for cheating at Quidditch. "Boy what the hell is that supposed to mean!" His father boomed, a couple of people down the hall could be heard slamming the doors to their office in fear. "She was a virgin... and I raped her. How the bloody hell can I face her now?" He took a giant gulp of Ogden's from the bottle and tossed his head back as the burn trickled down his throat. Lucius only shrugged, "I've never had to rape your mother Draco... but I assume it's the same as any other punishment. Buy her things, act nice, show here you aren't dreadful all of the time..." The man sneered playfully at his son, "Even if you are." In no mood to joke Draco shoved himself out of the chair and clomped down the hall like a drunken horse. His father was right and he had shopping to do.
Draco was now certain that there was no way she could be angry with him by the time today was over. In fact, she'd probably adore him and come to his bed quite willingly out of gratitude... or so he thought in his demented little head. From shop to shop he couldn't shoo her from his mind for the smallest of instances. He refused to buy her perfume because upon entering the shop he'd decided that he adored her sent just as it was. Finally he'd settled on some sweets and a house elf before heading to the robe shop to make an appointment. Now he was finally home. His mother was in a frightful mood and that didn't help him at all. He took a seat at the table's head and grabbed a piece of toast, slathering gooey, seedy, strawberry jam across it. "Where is Mai?" He asked casually, half expecting her to be in bed still. "Don't talk with your mouth full Draco!" Was the only response he got from his mother, who sat stiffly in a wicker chair outside on the patio in the sun. It was nearly 10:30 and she had not only changed from her dress robes, but had seemed to resume life as normal. This made Draco frown, "Mother you should be in bed." He said quite sternly. "I'll decide where I should be thank you very much! Why don't you go find and tend to your own wife and quit pestering me!" He could have sworn that he heard her voice crack as she spoke... but he had little choice but to let it go. With a long exasperated sigh Draco lifted himself from the chair and trudged toward his room. Part of him was not looking forward to this discussion at all, but another part was just happy to lay eyes on her again. To know that she was really there and that this wasn't all a mad dream.
He took a deep breath and fingered his door knob. His ear pressed against the door for indicators of any sound or movement. Both relieved and a bit concerned at the lack of noise he hastily opened the door to reveal his room being tidied up by the elf he'd just bought his wife. If jumped about 3 feet in the air before bowing lowly to him, "M-master. Yidya was not expecting yous so soon. She will finish her work right away master!" It scrambled across the floor and began to frantically cast spells and make the room spotless for her master, but Draco could care less. "Where is she?" He seethed silently, a deadly growl to his tone. "M-m-miss d-did not l-like Yi-d-d-ya m-master. She orders h-her away and w-ent to eat with Lady Malfoy." His frown creased further and he turned on his heel, taking the steps two at a time. Before rationalizing his behavior he circled his mother and grasped her shoulders in an angry, desperate plea. "Did you let her out?!" He shouted, darting his eyes around the garden. "Draco! Good heavens! Release me this instant! I am your moth-" "DID YOU LET HER AWAY!?" He screamed in interruption. The escape of the girl meant many things, and none were good for him or his family. His mother swatted at his hand, "Draco Lucius Malfoy you will remove your hands from me or so help me I'll let your father hear of this!" She hissed through her teeth, looking more furious than he'd ever seen her. Slowly, he let his fingers loosen and then threw them in the air in anger. "Your wife is down stairs being treated for your carelessness Draco. Surely Severus will be finished with her shortly! Keep your knickers in a twist like that and ill or not I'll swat your obstinate bum myself!" She paused and raised her head from the book she'd been reading, Draco thought she looked very much like a swan. "Honestly darling it is one thing to use discipline but the girl could barely walk! Hasn't our reputation been tarnished enough without you treating your bride like a common street whore?" She asked in a snide tone. There was his mother all right. Always concerned with looks and reputation. Draco was in no mood to be scolded though, he was already fidgeting and looking toward the doors through the parlor for his wife. "I assure you mother if I knew any other way to-" He stopped and both of them locked eyes for a moment. He did know another way... they both did. "Are you going to inform father of my mistake?" He hissed moodily. His mother seemed to think for a very long time before shaking her head and sighing, "I have no desire to have that demonstration given by him. Be more careful Draco! We are rebuilding ourselves in society and I suggest you get on board like it or not!" She scolded after him as he stalked away from her mid-sentance.

Snape was right. Her husband was indeed screaming for her but she could barely bring herself to move and greet him. The palms of her hands were coated in a cool sweat as she tried to swallow her fear. Draco didn't wait for her to come to him. He rudely burst open the basement doors to find her tenderly fixing her robes. The damn things were too blasted uncomfortable for her tastes. She leveled her eyes onto his and they both stood there. Mai sure as hell wasn't in the mood for making friends, and probably never would be. Draco on the other hand looked like an awkward child struggling to ask someone to a ball with him. His smile was tight and very forced, behind it she could see anger starting to bubble up. What had she possibly done this time? She'd barely seen him for 30 seconds and he seemed cross already. With a settling breath she shook off her nerves. He'd just have to get over it. At the sight of her mouth opening to speak Draco seemed to perk up considerably... until he heard what she had to say. "I would like my own garments back, these are simply dreadful." She'd said quite bluntly. The smile from his face fell at not only her words but her tone. She was defiantly still upset with him. Slowly, methodically, he made his way down the remaining marble stairs. The bottom of his shining black dress shoes clicked against the stone and increased her fear as he closed the space between them.
Surprisingly he did not raise his hand to hit her, even though that was all she'd expected. Instead he made his way behind her and wrapped his heavy arms around her waist. His chin propped up on her still tender shoulder and she tensed considerably as he breathed in and out against her soft hair. Her heart was thudding madly inside of her chest and no doubt Draco could feel it as he ran his hands over her body. "D-did you not hear what I said- ow!"She yelped as his arms contracted painfully around her waist and forced some air from her lungs. Effectively silencing her. "Of course I heard you. Your opinion is simply irrelevant. I've seen whores with more clothing on than those scraps of cloth and Malfoy women do not dress like whores!" He snapped, quite finished with her attitude. Mai snarled obstinately and tried to pry herself from his grip. "I'll have you know that those garments are both traditional and-" "Enough!!!" He yelled, spinning her around and grasping her shoulders with a shake, "I said NO! Are you too stupid to understand no!?" His breath reeked of whiskey, even in the middle of the morning. It was hot and sticky against her face as the tip of his nose hovered only centimeters away from her own. Mai turned her head, not admitting he was right but signaling she had no desire to fight with him. The action only served to make him angrier and he shook her harder, "Are you listening?!" He bellowed in her overly sensitive ears. As much as she tried to make her self speak, her stubborn nature wouldn't let the tongue loose. She flinched visibly as his hand lifted. "Mr. Malfoy I would ask that you would not bludgeon your wife in my quarters especially so soon after I have finished mending your previous mess." The haunting voice of an ex-professor stopped Draco's hand from flying across her face. His eyes cleared slowly and he seemed to take full knowledge of what was going on. His grip loosened and fell from her shoulders to grasp her hand firmly but not in a painful manner. "Of course Professor. We'll get out of your way." He said mostly out of habit. Mai looked over Draco's shoulder discreetly to see him scowling in a deadly manner, "See that you do." He hissed, turning on his heel and leaving once again.
Draco seemed slightly relived at the absence of the older man and gently tugged on her hand. Deciding to drop the earlier confrontation, it was useless anyway as she would never get her old clothes back, he lead her up the stairs into the hall. "Have you eaten?" He asked, sitting her down at the table before sitting at the head of it himself. "Yes." She blatantly lied through her teeth. She wasn't hungry but she doubted that answer would do any good. He eyed her suspiciously over a glass filled with that orange drink. "Do not lie to me Mai. I'm being very patient with your poor attitude but I will not continue if you do not make an effort yourself!" He snapped, filling a plate with a ton of food that she hadn't the slightest idea what it was. The plate lowered in front of her face and she sighed, the words of Severus rang through her mind. It would be better to simply give up... or in her case less painful. She drew the line here though, there was no way she would eat food that she didn't know what it was. Her long pale finger pointed, "What's this... and don't say 'food' because I am aware of that much." A long pause followed her words as he watched her, "You have never seen waffles and pouched eggs before?" He said incredulously. Mai shook her head and simply waited for him to continue. Instead of explaining though he snapped his fingers, "No issue." He mumbled. Another annoying pop signaled the arrival of an elf. She felt as though cold water had just been thrown over her head. Her ears flattened and her teeth bared as it cowered in her sight. Draco shoved it closer to her with his foot, "Tell it what you would like to eat." He said simply. Draco himself flinched at the laugh that came out of his wife, it was so stark and hard that it sounded more like a bark than an actual laugh. "I wouldn't let one of those creatures near anything I ate! Unless I chose to eat the little bastard myself!" She hissed, her face only inches from the 'house elf' as Draco's mother had called it. Her husband seemed to pale at her suddenly violent mood. "You do not like the elf? I bought her for you." There was a thinly laced threat to his tone but Mai couldn't care in the slightest. "As your mother previously told me and as I told her no I do not like elves. Any of them." She hissed lowly. For a second Draco looked offended but dropped it, she didn't need to know that everything at the table was made by elves.
Mai picked at the food, which wasn't particularly bad, with a somber expression. Suddenly she felt very tired. Her eyes raised to see Mrs. Malfoy stand up from the patio and walk inside to sit at the table with them. Draco seemed to ignore her for all intensive purposes but Mai wasn't so lucky. "You know I was thinking... you should have a proper wedding dear." She said sweetly, pouring another cup of tea from the steaming pot. Tired of arguing Mai merely stared at her, "A... wed-ding?" She asked slowly. Knowing so little was starting to annoy her. She wasn't stupid and didn't want them to think any less of her than they already did. "Yes. You know, since the ceremony with your people was informal and... a bit abnormal." Narcissa said with a gentle smile. Mai tilted her head, "What was abnormal about it? Besides the fact that I did not wish to bond with him it was all fairly standard. We did have sex." She stated bluntly. Both Draco and his mother almost coughed up their drinks. "My we're just.. coming out and saying it now hm?" Mrs. Malfoy seemed exceedingly uncomfortable for reasons Mai couldn't explain. For this reason she quickly changed the subject. "Well Mai is an interesting name... spelled M-y? Like it's said or?" Both women stared awkwardly at each other. "No, M-a-i. It's from the Native American language. Meaning coyote." She set her fork down and began to once again look for water in the many pitchers on the table. Draco put down the paper and perked a brow, "Coyote?" He asked. Mai simply wiggled the ears perched on top of her head. "It's a small feral canine. Note the ears and tail." She bit back, quite hatefully. Mai didn't enjoy answering questions about herself. People need to mind their business and not prod! "Darling perhaps you and Draco would get along better if you would speak in a more acceptable tone." Narcissa suggested with an angry glare. Again her husband ignored her sour mood and stood from the table. Mai looked up at him as she poured a glass of water for herself. If she was lucky he would leave and they would say nothing to her the rest of the day.
"We have an appointment with Madam Malkin later this afternoon." He said... as though Mai had the slightest clue whom that was. His probing eyes told her it would be best to follow him... even if she didn't want to. Cautiously she stood from the chair and rounded the table. Albeit reluctantly she even let Draco take her hand and begin to lead her back up to their room... as if she didn't know the way or was stupid. "Sorry I had to leave last night." He said stiffly. Mai bit off a snide remark and settled with not speaking to him at all. Even if her silence angered him, it couldn't upset him as much as her harsh words. Draco seemed to think that she wanted his companionship... and Draco was very wrong in his assumption. Why was he acting so... normal? Was this typical for wizards when they mate? To beat and rape their wives? Mai wasn't sure and was sincerely confused at the nonchalant way he insisted on acting. She sighed as they reached his door... this was going to be the first of many long days.
