Waking, Draco sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He looked over at the time only to then frown. Harry had said he was an early riser, but it was already going on ten. He'd thought Harry would wake him up when he'd gotten up. Rising he put on some slippers while running his fingers through his hair leaving it a bit messy, but not in the spikes it had been when he'd gotten out of bed. "He was probably more tired than he thought," Draco muttered to himself. His concern over Harry pressing on him wasn't quite as strong as the need pressing on his bladder at that moment. He decided to use the bathroom first and even brushed his teeth before crossing the hallway to check on his house guest. He knocked on the door lightly in case Harry was still asleep; not hearing a reply he opened the door and peeked within. He could see the bed was empty which caused him to frown. Walking further into the room he looked around in case Harry had collapsed. "Harry?" He called out as he glanced around the room. Seeing the bathroom door closed he walked over to rap on it, but again not hearing anything he opened the door and pushed it open. Looking in he spotted the messy top of Harry's head as the boy leaned back in the huge tub that left the prefect's tub looking small. He came further into the room relaxing a bit now. "Hey Harry; had me worried there scarhead," he said using the name now as a nickname and friendly; not in the mean fashion he'd used it before.
Harry had woken up about an hour before and after using the facilities had looked at the bath longingly. Cleaning spells only did so much and he was still a bit sore so he thought a long soak in the tub was just what he'd needed. It hadn't taken all that long to fill the tub which he knew would have taken forever in the non-magical world. It was times like this that he really loved magic. He'd swum around in the water, scrubbed his hair and body, and then just relaxed against the side. It was like this that he heard Draco's voice. He turned his head a bit to look up at blonde. "Sorry about that ferret," he said with a grin that showed he wasn't all that sorry. "Wasn't my intention, but this thing was way too tempting, although I think you could fit like twenty of me in it."
"Yes, well, when they were built community bathing was more common. It can also be a great deal of fun to have many people in there with you," Draco said with a wink. He knew his parents had often shared their tub with others; not that he wanted to think about all that happened when they had.
"Interesting," Harry stated. A grin slowly slid over his face as he turned to face Draco. "So it's meant to be shared." He reached up and suddenly pulled Draco into the tub with him.
Draco came up sputtering and smoothing his hair back. "Oh I am so going to get you for that," he told him before splashing water over at him. "I cannot believe you did that." He moved to where he could sit and started taking off his pajamas in the water. "You just wait Harry, I will get my revenge."
Harry just laughed. "I'm the son and godson of the Marauders. I have to do a prank now and then," he told Draco. He watched as the blonde threw his pajamas onto floor. "Besides you said it was meant to be shared; figured I'd share it with you. Why waste all the water to run your own bath?"
"You know who the Marauders are?" Draco said and then it dawned on him the rest of what he'd said. "Your dad and Sirius, correct?" Everyone at Hogwarts knew of the Marauders; they were legendary pranksters that even the Weasley twins didn't match up to, not yet anyway. He reached for the shampoo and began to wash his hair. He had to admit that Harry had a point about running his own bath.
"Yes and Remus," Harry told him. He moved to the side once more and leaned back against the pool. "Peter Pettigrew was the other one. Prongs, Padfoot, Moony, and Wormtail," he explained. "They all had nicknames for their animagus forms. Dad was a stag so Prongs, Sirius was a big dog they called padfoot, Peter was Wormtail the rat, and Remus was Moony because of him being a werewolf." He sighed softly missing Sirius. It was nice talking about him though, even if he had to mention that traitor Wormtail while doing so. "They all became animagi to help Remus when he transformed. They'd hide in the Shrieking Shack during the full moon nights. That's why it became known to be so haunted, but it actually isn't."
Draco listened and when Harry stopped for the moment he went under the water to rinse his hair. Coming back up he reached for the soap and a flannel to wash with. "Are you sure about that? I was attacked by a ghost a few years ago there. Something not there threw snowballs at Crabbe, Goyle and me; I was even dragged through the snow. I saw a floating head there too," he said slowing down in his speaking as he watched Harry start laughing.
"Remember me showing you my invisibility cloak?" Harry asked still laughing.
"That was you? Why you..." Draco broke off as he threw the flannel at Harry. "That scared me you know. Why were you using your cloak?"
"I wasn't allowed to go to Hogsmeade at that time," Harry explained still grinning. "Uncle Vernon hadn't signed the permission form. I was only allowed to go starting fourth year because Sirius signed it as my godfather. So using the cloak I went into town." He hadn't shown them the map yesterday, although he'd planned to. He saw no reason not to and thought perhaps Snape already suspected what it was from that night when he'd caught him with it, but had forgotten with everything else they had found. He moved to get out of the tub grabbing a towel to wrap around himself and then another to start drying off.
"Makes sense," Draco said enjoying the bath water for the moment. He glanced over at Harry as he got out of the tub. "I picked out some clothes last night that I thought might suit you," He said. "I figured you were tired of pajamas."
"I am and I want to thank you for letting me use your clothes," Harry said while finishing drying off. He still had some of the hand me down clothes from Dudley, but he was glad not to have to wear them since they were far too big for him and some were ready to fall apart.
"Well I was not about to let you go around starkers now was I?" Draco said as he too got out of the pool. He wrapped a towel about his waist and then began drying his hair off. "How about we go over to my room and we shall see what you like all right?"
"Good idea. You know now you look like a drowned ferret," Harry teased before rushing out of the bathroom before the wet towel Draco threw at him could possibly hit. He waited by the bedroom door laughing. He was a bit drained from rushing out, but it felt good to laugh and joke like he was that he didn't care that he was still recovering.
Draco was glad to see Harry in such a good mood. Yesterday had been emotionally draining for Harry and he knew that things wouldn't be good for a while. There was just so much for Harry to deal with that he figured that Harry's emotions were going to be going up and down like the Whomping Willow tree. He'd let Harry enjoy the good mood for as long as possible. He followed the brunet out and then led the way over to his room. "Just know your hair is even messier when wet. Is it always that way?" He asked.
"Afraid so," Harry said with a shrug. "From what I've seen I inherited it from dad. I've tried everything to get it to lay flat, but nothing seems to work."
"Mmm I will think on that," Draco said. He showed Harry the clothes he'd picked out for him. "I tried to find things that were not too fancy. Have you ever thought of growing your hair out? I mean past your shoulders; the weight might pull it straight."
"No, I hadn't, but maybe I should. Might take a while," Harry said while looking through the clothes. "These aren't fancy?" he asked with a mocking tone to his voice. The shirts he thought were made of silk and he wasn't even going to hazard at the material for the pants. He sighed and picked out a pair of brown pants and a tan shirt. He slipped them on feeling a bit odd wearing something this expensive.
"Yes those are not fancy," Draco told him not bothering to look at what he was picking out as he got dressed himself in black pants and a red shirt. "You know you do have magic for a reason. We will check with Severus later, but I am sure he has a hair growth potion. Those look nice on you. Just have to resize them a bit," He said as he pulled out his wand and used a spell that quickly resized the clothes to fit Harry's smaller frame.
"Wow, thanks Draco. I wish I had known that spell before," Harry stated as he looked down at the clothes and liking how they fit. "It would have come in handy." Looking up he saw Draco's look of curiosity. "I had to wear Dudley's hand me downs. They were always way too big."
Draco just shook his head at that. He couldn't believe that those muggles had forced Harry to wear such large clothes. They could have easily have bought Harry his own. He went into the closet to find some shoes for Harry to use. Thankfully they looked to be about the same size. Shoes didn't always like to resize well, he wasn't sure why. "Here try these on," he told him.
"Not bad," Harry said once he had them on. He watched as Draco got his own shoes on and then walked over to the door. "Where are we headed now?"
"I thought we would eat downstairs in the dining room," Draco told him.
Harry's stomach growled at the mention of food. He was really hungry, which he knew was a good sign to pointing to him feeling better. He couldn't believe that two days ago he'd been near death's door. He'd actually welcomed death at that point so long as the pain would have ended, but he was very grateful that had not happened. He felt better now than he could ever remember. "Lead the way. I think I'm almost hungry enough to eat a hippogriff," he stated.
"How about eating as much as the Weasel eats?" Draco asked. He saw Harry's look and laughed. "Even over at Slytherin table we see how much he shovels into his mouth. You would think his parents could teach him not to chew and talk at the same time."
"His mother always harps on it as do we, but he doesn't seem to listen," Harry said with a shrug. "Well at least Ron can say he is famous for something."
"Yes, making us all lose our appetites," Draco said laughing. He led the way into the dining room and sat down at the head of the table. He motioned to the seat beside him for Harry to take. He saw no reason to have him half way down the table like his parents always did with him. This way they could talk. The moment he sat down breakfast foods appeared on the table for them to select from. "So do you have more theories about the Weasleys and Dumbledore?"
"Tons actually," Harry said as he selected some food to place on his plate. "Once my eyes were opened and I really started to think about things I found many details that just didn't add up right. It was actually a bit weird thinking back on it and how I didn't notice at the time. I realized that after what the Dursleys put me through I was just so grateful at having friends and people to care about me that I just didn't notice. Maybe that is why Dumbledore wanted me to go back there every year; it's a theory anyway."
"That it is," Draco said as he piled food onto his own plate. "So tell me some of these theories."
"I'm curious myself," Severus stated as he joined them in the dining room. He sat down across from Harry and began to fill his plate. "Good morning to you both."
"Good morning Uncle Sev," Draco said as he gave his godfather a glare for surprising them the way he had. "Please don't startle us like that again. You really need to walk with some noise."
"It would be nice, but I think he practices the stealth walking so he can catch students out of bed," Harry said with a grin. He took a few bites of food in-between talking making sure to swallow before saying anything.
"Of course, I must catch them unawares," Severus stated, "especially Gryffindors. Now what theories do you have about the Weasleys and Dumbledore? I have the feeling the more we know the better prepared we shall be."
Harry thought for a few moments trying to put everything in order so that it would make sense and so he wouldn't forget anything. "I'll start with the Weasleys and Hermione; I'll go by year so that way it is easy to follow," He told them. "Then I'll tell you about Dumbledore the same way. Well I already told you where their finances didn't make sense and how Ron joining me on the train seems orchestrated. Hermione attempted to stick her nose into our business right from the beginning. While on the train she knew a spell to fix my glasses that I never found in the first year books and stated she'd mastered several others already obviously doing magic outside of school which she knew was against the rules. Once at Hogwarts she'd eavesdrop on us all the time. I'm sure you remember when you tried to get us into trouble with that duel," He said and saw Draco nod. "Well she tried to stop us and ended up going the whole way to the room with us along with Neville since he got locked out of the tower. On the way back we just happened to end up on the floor that was off limits and Hermione knew the Alohomora spell when the rest of us didn't. This action allowed us to see Fluffy and she was the one who noticed the trap door underneath. She kept pushing on the subject wondering what it was; she did the same when we found out the name Nicholas Flamel, which curiously she had the book that contained the information on him in it. Looking back I'm not even sure how she ended up as our friend. I think, though, after we rescued her from the troll she just latched on really and with her pushing about the mystery going on we didn't question it."
"Makes sense if she was to spy on you," Draco stated. "She had to become your friend somehow or another and obviously make sure you found out certain information. How did you end up rescuing her from the troll anyway?"
Harry looked over at Severus and figured there wasn't much he could do about it now. "Well Ron insulted Hermione and she ended up in the girl’s bathroom crying all day. When we were heading back to the tower I realized that she was still there and had no clue about the troll so I made Ron go and help me find her but the troll got there first."
"They could not have planned on the troll, but her being upset might have been arranged in hopes you would comfort her," Severus stated. "Seems to me when we found you in the girl's bathroom she said you two came to her rescue after she tried to take the troll on her own. She made you two appear heroes to her foolish behavior, endearing herself to you. She took the opportunity and it seemed to have paid off.
"Well we got a bit off point. I didn't think that was arranged at all. It's just the spells she knew that we didn't and the way she seemed to want us to investigate the mystery that bothered me. Now the next really odd thing is Christmas," Harry stated. "Ron had stayed over and on Christmas morning I had a present from the Weasleys. It was a handmade knitted sweater. I was thrilled because I'd never received a present before. Now, though, when I look back I don't remember them giving Hermione a gift nor did I see any of the twins' friends with sweaters or any of Ron's other friends like Seamus, Neville and Dean. Since Mrs. Weasley had barely met me at the station and I hadn't met Mr. Weasley at all why would they bother to send me a gift?"
"It does seem odd," Draco stated trying to hide his anger at the thought of Harry not receiving a present for Christmas before he was eleven. "Especially considering they didn't appear to give anyone else gifts." He'd finished his breakfast and now leaned back in the chair listening to what Harry had to say. "You think they knew you didn't get gifts from the Dursleys?" Seeing Harry's nod Draco thought about this. "Which means Dumbledore probably also knew, told them and had them send the gifts; thus making you feel more like a family member."
"That was my thought. Then came the summer when all my letters to Ron and Hermione never arrived nor theirs to me because Dobby was stealing them hoping that if I didn't think my friends cared that I wouldn't go back to Hogwarts," Harry explained. "Hermione could have come over since she lives closer to me or even called, it's a muggle thing like using the floo to contact others. Anyway, instead of doing either of those things, Ron and the twins steal their dad's car, fly over to my house in the middle of the night fully prepared to rescue me from my room where there are bars on my window, and then fly us all back. When we arrived back at the Burrow Mrs. Weasley stated that she and Mr. Weasley were going to come that Friday to talk to me to see if everything was all right. See anything odd with that?"
"Why would the parents check on you? They don't know you or your guardians," Draco stated. "What would they have done if the guardians refused to see them? Or if you'd all gone away on holiday and no one was home?"
"They had the tools to take off the bars?" Severus asked and saw Harry nod. "How did they know you had bars on your window that they would need to remove in order to get your out?" he asked. "That they knew they would have to get you out of a second story room and would need to be in the air? They would have had to have someone who informed them of the situation there. They acted before their parents could. I take it they did not get into much trouble for their actions?"
"No they didn't. I spent the rest of the summer at the Burrow being mothered by Mrs. Weasley and made one of the family," Harry told them. He too had finished eating and was just talking now. "In fact my letter from Hogwarts with my school supplies came there. Mr. Weasley made the comment that Dumbledore never misses a trick. In retrospect I have to wonder what their agenda was with all of it, especially with showing me how Mrs. Weasley had to empty their accounts in order to pay for everything for school."
"She was hoping you'd offer to help out," Draco stated. "I have had a few people at school attempt that. They try to get me to buy things for them when we go to Hogsmeade thinking because I have money and they do not I should be willing to buy their things; never works on me."
"It is possible," Severus stated while sipping his morning tea. "I have to admit their behavior does seem odd. Were there other instances after that Harry that make you think that they were not your friends before that conversation you heard?"
"Mostly little things, but they add up. As you know in second year we drove their enchanted car to school because we missed the train. That was Ron's idea figuring it was the only way we could get there and yet later on he told me he always wanted to ride the Knight Bus. Why didn't he suggest using that instead of driving? Or we could have gone to the Leaky Cauldron and floo'd to Hogsmead. Either way though, there were options available that wouldn't have caused us to get into trouble with the Ministry or with the staff at school, but instead he insists we fly there making us break how many laws? And in the process makes me appear to be attention seeking once again doesn't it? In third year Ron stating that I only got away with accidentally blowing up my aunt because of who I am. In fourth year he was jealous of me getting into the Tri-Wizarding and very mistrustful of anything I did. We had a big fight, but suddenly after the first task he wanted to be friends again. Totally out of the blue; almost like someone put him up to it. In fifth year yet again he stated I always got away with stuff. Mr. Weasley took me to the World Cup along with all his children and Hermione. Ron was allowed to take two friends with him, but none of the other children brought friends. If I were the other children I'd be upset that Ron was allowed that," Harry stated. "Mrs. Weasley went to Diagon alley to get all our things for school since the World Cup might last too long for us to do it. I never gave her my key for my vault so how did she access it to buy my things?"
"I would think that Ginny and the twins would be upset at such an occurrence. Children usually prefer things to be fair for all," Severus stated. Taking a bit of the food he thought about the vault usage and shook his head. "She would not be able to get in without your key. The goblins would not allow it; so either she was able to sign at the stores and have it billed to your vault or there is another key to your vault she had access to."
"That was my thought as well," Harry stated. "One reason I want to get an accounting of all my finances. I also found some of Hermione's actions questionable. In second year Hermione knew all about the polyjuice potion and was able to make it successfully on the first try when the book for it was in the restriction section."
"She did this on her first attempt at making it?" Severus stated in shock. "You do not even learn that until sixth year potions. To do that with ease she would have had to have practiced it prior to that year. Do I even want to know why you were making it? Never mind, you can tell us about that later. A fourth year possibly could make it, but a second year without practice is highly unlikely unless she had assistance."
"It seemed odd to me as well especially with getting the ingredients for it since they weren't standard for us that year," Harry stated. "She was the only one to figure out it was a basilisk that was petrifying everyone. I know she's the smartest witch of her age, but you would think someone older would have figured it out before hand especially since the chamber had been opened before. Not to mention that Ginny, who grew up in a wizarding household, should have known better than to continue to write in an enchanted diary the way she did. Once she knew about it she should have taken it to McGonagall or Dumbledore, but instead she continues to use it and let it posses her? It just seems odd especially considering what her father does for a living. Sorry side tracked back to the Weasleys," he said with a shrug.
"It's alright Harry," Draco told him. "It is easy to get side tracked when dealing with all this. I have to agree Weaselette should have taken it to her head of house when she realized that it wasn't a normal diary. Any pureblood would have. Now a muggle born I could understand not realizing how dangerous it was but she should have," he added.
Harry nodded and sighed. He knew Ginny had been foolish that year, he just didn't know why. "Back to Hermione, she was convinced the firebolt I received for Christmas in third year had to be from Sirius and when I refused to accept it she went to McGonagal who took it from me. There was no indication that it would be from him, but she was positive there was something dangerous about it. Here is something for you to think about; how many teenage girls are allowed to stay with a male friend for weeks at a time without a parent objecting? Or refusing to go on a Christmas vacation with the parents in order to stay with said male friend and his family? Let alone both of them arriving at the order weeks before me and not allowed to tell me one thing about it."
"My parents attempted to get Pansy to stay here for a few weeks hoping I would take an interest in her, but her parents wouldn't allow it; stating it would cause too many to gossip about her reputation," Draco told him. "I am almost afraid to find out what you have on Dumbledore. I mean I am sure what you said could all be explained away by themselves, but together it sounds as if they were manipulating you to do certain things," he stated. He stood up and stretched. "How about we go into the parlor where we can be more comfortable?"
"Sounds good," Harry said as he saw Severus standing up to walk with them. "I always thought it a bid odd that my parents had never left a will. I mean here are two people with a mad man after them and they have to go in hiding to protect themselves and their baby and they don't make a will; if nothing else to make sure their child has a guardian you approve of? Of course we found one now, but why didn't anyone question the fact that none was found previous to this? Also, Severus maybe you can answer this one; when Voldemort attacked why didn't my parents just apparate out of the house?"
"I am afraid I cannot answer that one," Severus stated. "They should have been able to even if they had it so no one could apparate in they should have made it so they could apparate out."
"Exactly and Hagrid originally took me from Sirius at Godric's Hollow because Sirius wanted to go after Wormtail. No one at that time thought Sirius was guilty. Did you know that Sirius was never given a trial?" Harry asked. "He was just thrown in Azkaban by Barty Crouch and that was it. If a trial had been done with a pensieve and veritaserum he would have been found innocent which means I would have never gone to the Dursley's since he was my godfather. I find that very convenient considering Dumbledore told me I had to live at the Dursley's because of the blood wards. I had to live with someone who was of my mother's blood and if I did it would continue to protect me from Voldemort. Now we know there were no blood wards, but I was thinking even if there were they wouldn't have worked. Dumbledore said I had to consider the place home and I never did. In fact I've considered Hogwarts as my home since first year. At the beginning of third year I left the house with every intention of never going back so again the wards would have gone down. Then of course even if they were still working in fourth year Voldemort used my blood to build himself a new body. He could have passed through the wards at any time."
Sitting down Severus nodded, "Then we have the letter which states he knew that Black wasn't their secret keeper. He should never have allowed Black to go to Azkaban. Even if the rest wasn't known Dumbledore should have demanded a trial for Black. As Chief Wizard of the Wizengmont it was his duty to do so, but either way when Black escaped and was about to be kissed Dumbledore should have stepped in and prevented it."
"Instead he said he had no power to prevent it and had Hermione and I use a time turner to go back and save him," Harry stated sitting down on the couch with Draco. "It kept Sirius on the run, unable to have me with him, but Dumbledore could use him. You both have seen, I'm sure, how Dumbledore claims to care about me and other students." Seeing them nod Harry continued, "Then why would he leave a baby just over a year old wrapped in a blanket on a doorstep on November first in the middle of the night? He left me there for my aunt or uncle to find in the morning with no protection what so ever. Let alone I could have woken up at any time and wandered off." Harry saw them both cringe at that information. "Over the years Dumbledore did have Mrs. Figg spying on me, but she only saw me a couple of times a year. When my letter from Hogwarts first came it was addressed to Harry Potter, the cupboard under the stairs, etc. My uncle wasn't happy and actually tried to get away from the letters. The final one to get to me was addressed to Harry Potter, on the floor. At that time I was sleeping on the floor in this hut in the middle of nowhere. I think it's pretty clear that Dumbledore had to have a locator spell on me that told him exactly where I was."
"Do you think Dumbledore still has the locator on you? If so then he might know you are missing if not where. The wards here should stop it from working," Draco stated.
"When I went back to check on the wards I left a decoy there. If Dumbledore checks his locator for you it will show you still at Privet Drive," Snape stated. "I knew there was one since I was in the Order. Dumbledore wanted to keep a close watch on you although he told us it wasn't placed until last year. He stated that with your penchment for getting into trouble it was needed."
Harry snorted at that one. "The fact that the trouble usually is set up doesn't count I suppose? Did you know Dumbledore goes around Hogwarts invisible? I found that out first year when he found me at the Mirror of Erised. My invisibility cloak, it was my father's, Dumbledore gave it to me that first year and made sure at the one point when I had to leave it behind it was returned to me. He wanted me to investigate what was happening that first year. Don't you think it's odd that the protection for the Sorcerer's Stone was so difficult that a few first years were able to get through?"
Severus frowned at that. He had not been happy when he'd heard how the trio had gotten through all the defenses. They never should have. "I admit the different defenses should have been stronger since you three and Quirell were able to get past so easily. Quirell knew what they were and was able to research how to get past them, all except that damn dog. That was one thing he hadn't planned on, but as you know he eventually got the information out of Hagrid."
"Yes, well, Hagrid is not the best secret keeper ,but I already knew how the Mirror of Erised worked and it was fairly well known that Ron was a champion chess player yet Professor McGonagall made her obstacle a chess set," Harry stated. "I think it was very convenient that Dumbledore showed up immediately after I stopped Quirell and Voldemort. He'd left for the Ministry earlier in the day and we didn't go after them until after curfew, why wasn't he back earlier? I think he wanted me to face him." He sighed and shook his head at that before continuing to the next year. "Dumbledore let Hagrid be sent to Azkaban even though he knew Hagrid was innocent in second year. Again he had the power to prevent that from happening and he didn't. Did either of you find it odd that we studied mandrakes the year we had people being petrified? Other second years haven't studied them so why us? How about the fact that the opening to the Chamber of Secrets is in a sink with modern plumbing? Someone had to update it after Salizar Slytherin and thus knew about the chamber. Or why Lupin was hired third year and why did he ride on the train? He's the only teacher I have seen ride on there and interesting enough it was Hermione and Ron who chose the compartment he was sitting in saying again that the train was full, yet we'd only been to part of it. I figure he was hired because he was a friend of Sirius' and would know how he thinks so could protect others. I found it interesting that as soon as Sirius re-escaped Remus' secret was out. Did you do that Severus; out him to everyone?"
"I did not. If I was going to out him as a werewolf it would have been far sooner than the last few weeks of school," Severus stated with a slight sneer to his voice. He had known Black and Lupin had blamed him for that incident, but it had not been his actions that had caused the man's secret to get out.
"You think Dumbledore did since he had no more use for him," Draco stated, "and then blamed Uncle Sev to make the animosity between them worse."
"That's exactly what I think. Then in fourth year Dumbledore doesn't realize that one of his closest friends has been replaced by a Death Eater. He forces me to honor a contract I never signed up for and as a minor shouldn't have been held responsible for. When he learned that Voldemort was back he got a gleam in his eyes over the news," Harry pointed out. "In fifth year Dumbledore wanted to keep me in the dark where if he'd told me what was happening Sirius might still be alive. Every year I asked him why Moldyshort was after me and he wouldn't tell me. He would lie and say he didn't know when in fact he did know. Last year, after Sirius died, he told me that five years before I had arrived at Hogwarts and that he had known he had condemned me to ten dark and difficult years. That I wasn't a pampered prince, but as normal a boy as he could have hoped under the circumstances and that his plan thus far was working." Harry let out a snort at that. "Some plan huh? He then went on to show me in a pensieve the prophecy he'd heard from Trewlany before I was born. Basically because of this prophecy Moldyshorts thinks I'm the only one who can defeat him. He knew and didn't tell me nor did he even attempt to prepare me to battle against Moldy Voldy. Add to that he allowed that miserable toad Umbitch to use that blood quill on me and others, which makes me wonder how much he cares about the students of the school."
"I like your variations on their names," Draco said with a snigger. "It works for them both." He wasn't happy though about the rest of what he'd heard however. The thought that Dumbledore had planned on Harry to be hurt, to have lived in a house where he wouldn't be loved or cared for was sickening. Why would he have done that?
"You have given us a great deal to think on. I take it you have more theories?" Severus asked and saw Harry nod. "I figured as much. I have a few of my own as well, but I think they can keep until another time until we can digest all this and I for one would like to think about a few things before adding my own thoughts to the mix. For now I believe it to be time we head upstairs so that I can break that block Dumbledore has put on your magic," Severus stated as he stood up. He waited for the other two to do so as well and then began to walk with them. He was hoping he could break the block as quickly as possible. The longer something like this was on the harder it could be to remove. It would be painful for Harry and exhausting for both of them. "Draco head down to my room and get several bottles of pain relieving potion, we shall need them."
"Yes Uncle Sev," Draco said before heading down leaving Severus and Harry to go into Harry's room and get ready.
"Severus you said this would hurt me," Harry said as he moved to lay down on the bed figuring that was probably best for this. He was feeling a bit nervous about this even if he was trying not to show it in front of the other man.
"I will not lie to you Harry, it will hurt," Severus stated. "It shall feel like being hit with the cruciatus curse. Right now think of your magic wrapped in chains that go through and around it. I have to break those chains and pull them out of your magic. Once I start I will not be able to stop. Try to get as comfortable and as relaxed as possible."
"I think I'm about as ready to start as I'm going to be," Harry said now lying on the bed, although not very relaxed he was comfortable. Without any warning he felt Severus begin. He fought against crying out with the pain, but after a couple of minutes he wasn't able to stop the screams that echoed about the room. Just when he didn't think he could take anymore it was over. He felt this surge of power go through him as if he could do anything. He looked over at Severus and saw him swaying on his feet. Without thinking about it he had a chair come sliding over behind Severus so the man could collapse into it.
Draco had arrived back during the procedure. The screams made him want to stop Severus, even if he knew he couldn't. He watched stunned as Harry brought the chair over. "Bloody hell," he muttered. "Harry you did that without a wand and without saying anything." He walked closer to the bed and handed Harry the pain relieving potion. "Here drink that."
"Thanks. I don't know how I did it. I just wanted the chair there so he didn't fall," Harry said before downing the potion. He took one more potion before collapsing against the bed. "Think I'm going to sleep now." Now that the surge was over and he wasn't in pain Harry was drained of all energy.
Draco nodded and watched as Harry quickly fell asleep. He turned to check on Severus noting that he was barely awake at this point. He helped his godfather down to the man's room and into bed. He had the feeling that things were going to get very interesting. He left both alone to their rest placing a monitoring charm so that when they woke he would know and headed back downstairs to do some checking of things on his own.
