Hermione walked slowly back towards her house. From where she stood she could see that Lidia was home and Loki was setting a plate of something in front of her, it was something that she liked because she was smiling brightly. Hermione smiled as well but her smile quickly turned in to a frown, she was fighting with something in her mind and she needed to figure it out soon. When she walked in the door Lidia let out a scream that sounded as if she were being tortured and then ran to her mother hugging her tightly. Hermione smiled and felt her throat tighten when she realized that her little girl was crying.
“Liddy-bug” Hermione said softly “Why are you crying?”
“B-Because” She hiccupped “I m-missed you so much” She wiped her nose on the back of her hand “P-please don’t leave us again”
“Oh baby” She said softly and knelt down to look her daughter in the eyes “I did leave and I am not proud of myself for doing it. But I would never have even entertained the idea of never coming back to you, you are my daughter and I love you more than anything in the world, do you understand me?”
“Y-Yes mama” She said nodding her tiny head.
“And I missed you beyond words” Hermione pulled her daughter in to a tight hug “I dreamt about you at night, thought about you all day and prayed for you at all times”
“I missed you too mama” She said quietly and then headed back to her seat to finish her dinner which Hermione could now see was indeed her favorite dinner of chicken nuggets, French fries and salad (and she could do without the salad).
“Please tell me” Hermione said walking over and kissing Loki on the lips “This” She gestured to the food her daughter was scarfing down “Isn’t all that she’s been eating while I was gone”
“No” He answered “This is the first time she’s had it. I wanted a quick dinner so I can get her in to bed”
“Why would she need to be in bed” She whispered to him.
“Oh I don’t know” He answered “I’m in need of some help” He took her hand and slid it over the front of his pants with a smirk.
“I would just love to help with this particular problem” She purred squeezing the handful “However, we have another problem to work on”
“Ron and Luna” He guessed.
“Their lying” She told him with a smirk as she got up and started grabbing some French fries “About him cheating on her, I think it’s their way to make us make up by helping them with their ‘problem’”
“What is your plan?” He asked with a knowing smile.
“What makes you think that I have a plan?” She asked “What I was expecting you to have a plan?”
“Were you?” He asked with his head cocked to the side.
“Well” She looked at him weighing her words in her head because she knew that he liked to make the plans “Not really”
“What do you have then?” He asked.
“I was thinking that we break up” She said and when he looked ready to fight she put her finger against his lips “We make them think that I went home and we fought because...I don’t know you have some hair-brained idea that Ron should be able to have a woman on the side and I think he should be faithful” She smiled “We had a terrible fight and decided that we are just too different so you went home and I stayed here with Lidia”
“Okay” He smiled the mischief they were spinning was sparkling in his eyes “We are going to have to talk to Lidia and get her in on this one, we know that she can keep a secret. We’ll need to talk to Thor in to saying that I am there and completely heartbroken...I’m not so sure he can keep a secret” She pushed his arm “And you are going to have to be completely heartbroken and depressed. We need to make sure that they feel like utter shit for pulling a prank on us that ended in our relationships demise”
“I love it” Hermione said “And I love you”

Lidia was pretending to sleep in the grass while the other kids played around. Lidia was very good at her act and when Luna ‘woke her up’ she yawned and rubbed her eyes. Luna smiled warmly at her but the little girl glared back at her and sat up stiffly keeping her eyes locked on something in the distance.
“Liddy-bug” Luna started
“Don’t call me that” She snapped “Only people I like are allowed to call me that”
“Lidia” Luna was taken aback “What’s wrong?” She tried to lay her hand on her shoulder but the little girl pushed her away “Why are you so tired?”
“Because mummy and daddy were yelling at each other all night last night” She said glaring at Luna “Then he left...its all your fault!”
“My fault?” Luna asked her eyes going wide with worry.
“You and Uncle Ron’s fault” She said “You are having problems...and...and...they were fighting over it” She put her face in her hands and burst in to tears “H-he said that they were too different and she agreed...he’s gone” She sobbed louder “He left...my daddy left”
“Oh Merlin!” Luna stood and ran in to the house telling Ron to watch the kids before stepping through the floo in to Hermione’s home. The brunette had dropped her head down when she heard the floo connect in her living room and she worked up some more tears (she had cried to make sure that her eyes were red and watery)
“Hermione” Luna said as she ran over to the table “Oh my goodness, what happened?”
“We broke up” Hermione sobbed “H-he said that R-Ron should be able to have a woman on the side” She blew her nose loudly “And I told him that was mental because he should be completely faithful to you because you two were married and then...then...” She started to sob uncontrollably.
“Then what happened?” Luna asked feeling her heart sink lower and lower in her chest until she was sure it was being melted by the acids in her stomach.
“He said that if that was what I was expecting then he had no interest in marrying me” Hermione slammed her head back down and cried even harder, the actual thoughts of Loki leaving her making the tears fall faster and the sobs wrack her body even more.
“I am so sorry” Luna breathed “This wasn’t meant to happen...”
“What do you mean?” Hermione asked raising her tear-filled eyes to her blond friends stare.
“J-just that our problems shouldn’t have become yours” Luna said after a minute or so of hesitation and Hermione frowned at her. She knew that Luna was only trying to help but she had hoped the girl would have admitted what happened right away so the lie wouldn’t have to continue too long. But there she was lying again and Hermione knew that it was a lie, she knew that it had all been a hoax and the look in Luna’s eyes had only confirmed it. She guessed that they would be playing a new game now and all because Luna wouldn’t admit defeat and tell her what they had done. Why couldn’t she and Loki just have a normal life together?
A/N: So the games begin! Sorry it’s taken so long but between the birth of a friends baby and spending time with her, my birthday and work my life has been pretty crazy and on top of all that I had writers block when it came to this story but I worked it all out!
