A/N: I decided to have letters between Drew and Hermione only to make it a little easier. Plus they kinda get to know each other. In the next chapter things start to pick up a little and we finally get to see Drew and JB reunited!
Chapter 7: Strange Letters Part 2

This pounding in his chest what is that? This fast pace beating makes no sense. How did this happen? Why is the heart racing? Why is the mind focused on a person? What is wrong?

Dear Hermione,
Are you enjoying your holiday? I trust you are actually enjoying some peace and quiet and not studying. I had a long night. We have a case and we can't seem to find any leads. Every where we turn there's a dead end. I'm not exactly sure where to go from this point on. The person or thing doesn't leave a trace after they are done with the victim. Need less to say this is the hardest case Angel and I have ever had. Of course Cordelia, Wesley, Fred, and Gunn do what they can. But something is missing and I can't seem to put my finger on it. Enclosed are my case notes. I hope you can see what I can not. A fresh pair of eyes may help us catch this person.
What is interesting about the killer is that he or she seems to strike only once a month. We have ruled out werewolves because there's always a mess when they kill. It's always on the 13th of every month. We have looked up as much as we can but nothing comes up. We are at a loss and hope with your help catch this person. Your help on the last case helped us very much. Angel would like to fly you out here one day and work with him. I smiled at the thought. Just so I can see you. I won't keep you any longer from your holiday. Take all the time you need to look over the case notes and get back to me when you have your conclusion. Thank you again Hermione for your help.

Dearest Drew,
Thank you for asking about my holiday I am enjoying myself, truly. Nothing like soaking up the sun rays in the south of France. I have already finished my school work for the summer and have just found out I am Head Girl. I was thrilled when I received my badge. My good friend Michael is Head Boy and he is also my study partner. I have looked over your case notes, and it is indeed, strange that this person only picks the 13th of each month to choose some one. I have noticed that he or she likes their victims around the ages of 21 & 25. Another thing that I have noticed they are either students or graduated students of certain university.
I have enclosed my own notes so you may take a look and I hope this helps you in any way. I also do hope that you are getting sleep. Tell Angel I would love to come and visit on day. Maybe after I finish at Hogwarts and spend my summer over there before I head off to university myself. I could also look at schools there. That is if you intend to stay in the place where you are. It warms my heart and makes me smile at the thought of you. I do have good news for you but I will tell you another time. I would like you to solve this case first and then I will tell you my good news.

I would like to offer my congratulations on making Head Girl and your friend Michael on Head Boy. A very big thank you for helping us with the case. We have caught the person and HE picked that specific date because it marks the day of when he made a deal with a demon, or so he thought. It was all in his mind. He thought the demon would like young "offerings" it made him wealthy and powerful. What is this good news that you speak of? Did you find the city I am in and you would like to visit sooner? The thought does make me smile. I never had this much correspondence with a woman before. Of course there was my last girlfriend in my last city. But that was more of a infatuation. We both loved the thrill of a good fight. Other than that I never really had any feelings for her.
But you there's something different about you. I feel as if I can tell you anything and it makes me feel as if a weight has been lifted. I look forward to your letter and I can not wait to read it once the owl has come. Angel of course teases me about it but some days I just send him a jinx his way. He actually thought he was getting by just by killing people, sometimes I wonder what the world is coming too. Harry would love to work with Angel and fight the good fight. That is my news Drew. I broke up with the great Harry Potter himself. Yes, me Hermione Granger broke up with Harry Potter. Of course the papers went through the roof when the word got out. The "official" statement is that 'Harry Potter and Hermione Granger have decided to cool off their relationship due to focusing on finishing Hogwarts at this point.' I laugh at that statement when the truth is my heart is for another. Ron is beside himself and has taken Harry's side. I couldn't care less. I am free from the Potter shadow and everything that comes with it. That is my news I wanted to share with you.

To answer your question yes I am sleeping well. I do however have a new battle scar so the count is up to about thirty I believe. Ex boyfriend you say? I recall you mentioning a Harry but I had no idea it was THE Harry Potter. Of course the papers would reword everything you say or anyone else. Your heart is for another? How is this one different from Potter? I do apologize for using his last name. I do not know him yet I do not like him. I found out just recently my parents when to school with his and they were not the best of friends. There's always been a rival between our families. I did my research and it was all because our great great great great grandfathers were in love with the same girl.
If you ask me that just a silly thing to be rivals over. Long story short the girl picked my great great great great grandfather. According to the history Potter didn't like that and staged a prank that backfired. Thus, the rivalry began and has stood since. I can not ask my father if this is true because he and my mother died when I was just barely a year old. But my father figure told me stories of them and I plan to live up to my family's name.
I have this strange feeling that you and I have met before but I do not know what you look like at all. If you have brown eyes and long brown hair that is a little bushy but yet tamed, then yes I have seen you before. In Diagon Alley when there was an attack a while back. But I don't see you being her.

I am glad you are sleeping well. Is the sleeping with or without the potion. I just owled Professor Snape and asked him how long some one is supposed to be on the potion and he said about two months. Any more than that then you need to start waning yourself off of it. Do not take it every night. Otherwise it can be very addictive. Yes it was THE Harry Potter I was with from my second year until now. We had our run and I just needed to move on to some thing new and exciting. The one that now has my heart is a some one I never truly expected. He has taken me by surprise and I hope one day he feels the same as I do.
That is really interesting about your family and Harry's. I must do some research as well. I wonder if Harry knows. I wonder if Remus knows anything of that story. I'm so sorry to hear about your parents. Do you know what happened to them? Harry lost his parents around the same age I believe or he was one. I can not remember entirely. Some times when he speaks I don't listen. He does the same to me.
As for my eyes and hair....I can honestly say you described me perfectly. So was that you I saw in the alley? Were you and I trying to disarm each other? Oh Drew tell me it isn't so.

I am so sorry for the cold letter. It relieves me to know that you do not want to stop writing. I feel as if you and I have this connection. When I was in coma I heard this voice telling me to open my eyes. It was your voice. I remembered it when I heard you and Potter shouting at each other that night. I was co lead in that attack. I guess this is as good time as any to tell you the truth about me.
I was brought up by Robert Dragonus. He is the Dark Lord that has raised me and my brother Jon. Jon is not my family brother. He too lost his parents the night I lost mine. We were brought up on how to defend ourselves and also slowly learning how to lead attacks. Diagon Alley was our first attack on our own. We did well according to him. It was after that attack that I decided to leave that life and to see if I was on the right side. Now I am questioning if if even should stay and fight for the same side as most of my enemies. It was actually you who changed me that night. I hope this doesn't ruin your thoughts or feelings about me.
