A/N Aaaaah I am so so soooo sorry. My computer had to be factory wiped so I had to copy and paste the story from fanfiction dot net. My many many apologies but I will give you 3 chapters today.
"Wait, what did my brother do", Ginny practically screamed at Hermione.
"He kissed me on the cheek as a good bye. There is nothing strange about that."
"Well, I understand that, but when he does it after saying he doesn't want to leave it means something."
Hermione stared at Ginny and wondered what was going through her head. There was no way Fred liked her in that way.
"Now hang on a second, Ginny. There is no way your brother likes me that way" Hermione stated while shaking her head minutely.
"I don't know, 'Mione. He really does seem to like you" Ginny stated with a frown. "Why can't you see that?"
Hermione laughed. "How can you think he likes me? He has never made any moves of any kind."
Ginny stared at her friend. She couldn't believe how oblivious the know-it-all was.
"You do realize he checks you out every time you wear a new outfit right?"
Hermione gaped. There was no way Fred checked her out. She wasn't good looking in her mind at all. She still considered herself to be the buck-toothed, bushy haired know it all from her Hogwarts days. The girl that Draco Malfoy, now one of her best friends, had made fun of.
"No, he didn't Ginny" Hermione said with a sigh. "Let's just get me ready to go okay?"
"Okay, I will have you looking perfectly sexy in no time."
Two hours and three glasses of wine later (Hermione knows her limits) the girls were done and Hermione looked amazing. Ginny had completely revamped her look.
"Ginny I think you went a little over the top", Hermione said nervously. "We're only going to a club."
"Nonsense, 'Mione. You look spectacular."
"I don't know Gin. This dress isn't too short?"
"Of course it's not Hermione! It's the perfect dress for clubbing!"
"I guess I'll have to believe you then, but if I start getting groped I am going to blame you" Hermione said mock angrily.
Ginny smirked at her. "Why would you have such a problem with you getting groped?"
"I have a problem with getting groped by strangers."
"So if say Fred groped you, you wouldn't mind?"
Hermione gasped, utterly shocked by her best friends assumptions.
"I cannot believe- Actually I can believe that you would come to that assumption. Yes, actually I would mind but it wouldn't be as bad. Plus I wouldn't feel bad if I hexed him silly."
Ginny was utterly surprised by her best friends' statement. She had made the assumption that both Fred and Hermione liked each other, but she hadn't really believed it. Fred had been panting after her since she started working at the shop. Hermione had been less obvious but it was still plain as day. Well, it was obvious to everyone except Hermione and Fred. They were two of the most oblivious people she had ever met. Hermione was standing in front of her mirror looking at what used to be her body. She couldn't believe that two hours can take her from being a frumpy bookworm to being a beautiful woman. She wouldn't believe it if she didn't know that Ginny was a witch as well. Never in all her days had she thought she would look this. She had never been an exceptional beauty. Well she had never thought of herself as an exceptional beauty.
"Ginny", Hermione snapped while waving her hand in front of her face. "Are you all right?"
"Oh, what", Ginny asked shaking her head. "I'm fine just stuck in my thoughts."
"Oh, okay", was Hermione's comment.
Ginny started picking up her stuff.
"It's five till, 'Mione. Are you ready?"
Hermione pondered the question. Was she ready? She honestly didn't know. Well she would have to be ready wouldn't she? Fred wouldn't wait forever. Hermione walked down the stairs slowly in her heels. She thanked Merlin that she had remembered comfort and safety charms. She knew that if she hadn't she would be on her face at that moment. She got to the bottom of the stairs where Ginny was waiting and looked at her.
"I am ready. Nervous as hell, but I am ready."
Ginny beamed at her and opened the blinds a little.
"That's good because he's walking up the path now."
Hermione straightened a little more and went to stand a few feet away from the door. Her mother had taught her some etiquette and one rule was to never answer the door right away, always give it a moment. If you opened it right away you looked impatient and it made you seem rude and ill-mannered. She waited for his knock and then another few seconds before clicking forward in her heels.
Fred paced through his and George's flat above the shop nonstop. George, he could tell, was about to throw him out of the window. George hated it when he paced. It made him feel claustrophobic.
"Fred, stop it now! I am sick of your incessant pacing."
Fred looked up at his brother. He was nervous about picking up Hermione. He was nervous about the club. He was nervous about everything. She meant so much to him that losing her would seemingly mean the end of his life.
"I'm sorry Georgie. I am just so nervous about this club thing. I can't believe I asked her to do this. I know how much her privacy means to her and I practically blacked mailed her into letting me pick her up."
"It's going to be okay, Fred. You just need to calm down and get your confidence back. Oh and by the way if you don't leave now you will be late picking her up."
Fred jumped into action. He ran around making sure he had everything he needed.
"Okay, George, here I go."
"Good luck, Freddie. Just remember to be calm."
With one final wave and a hasty see you there, Fred walked out of the door to the official apparition point and left with a pop.
~~~~~~FHG~~~~~~
Fred walked slowly up to the front door and knocked gently. He knew Hermione well enough to know that she would have been close to the door so he wouldn't have to ring the doorbell or knock too loudly. After waiting a couple seconds, which he knew didn't have to exist, Hermione opened the doors. Fred's jaw dropped. He had never seen her looking so un-Hermione. It was strange seeing her with straight hair that went to the small of her back. The make-up Ginny had applied was subtle yet noticeable when you looked. Her dress was a perfect mix between classy and sexy that suited her style perfectly. A short cough pulled Fred out of his reverie before he could see the shoes she was wearing. He knew they were high heels because of how tall she was. There was no way she could have grown that much (4 inches) in the 2 hours that he hadn't seen her.
"As soon as you finish staring we should go. We can't keep George waiting."
Fred looked up startled that she had spoken. It was in that soft, gentle voice that always made people pay attention.
"Um, yeah, we should go", Fred said quietly, not quite trusting his voice to be any louder than that.
They both walked outside. Fred kept sneaking glances at her before he finally spoke up.
"You, um, look beautiful tonight", He said slowly hoping she would accept the compliment.
"Thank you, but most of it was Ginny's doing", was the quiet reply.
"I doubt that, but whatever you say", Fred said with a small grin.
Hermione flushed. She was used to Fred complimenting her but not like that. He normally smirked when he complimented her. He made it seem like a joke half the time. She also wasn't sure if he was actually complimenting her. It was extremely difficult to tell when he was being serious because he always has this mischievous gleam in his eyes that just can't go away. Fred looked at her and noticed that she was thinking extremely hard about something. He thought about it and realized that she was unsure about the compliment he paid her. She was seriously trying to figure out if he was serious about it. He pulled her to the side and into his arms for a close hug.
"You are the most beautiful women that I have met. You do not need to worry about me joking about this."
"It's not that I don't believe you, it is just that I haven't felt this way before and I am not sure what it is", Hermione said to Fred's chest.
"Oh my sweet little bookworm, you really did have a hard time with Ron."
Fred knew this was the wrong thing to say the moment he said it. She had stiffened and then struggled to get away.
"Hermione, what's wrong? Why are you responding like this? What did Ron do to you to make you this upset about it?"
Hermione shook her head against his chest not wanting to tell him what was wrong. She didn't want him to go to Azkaban for murdering his brother. She really did like him despite swearing up and down to Ginny she didn't. She wouldn't be able to live it down if she was the reason Fred was sent to Azkaban.
"Please don't make me tell you Fred", was heard although it was muffled against his shirt.
Fred looked down at the witch.
"All right, Hermione. I will drop it, but I want you to tell me when you are ready and think I am ready to know."
Hermione nodded against his chest and grabbed his hand. She looked up at him.
"Shall we go? I believe George will be upset if we are any later than we already are."
Fred looked at his pocket watch (a gift to all wizards on their 17th birthdays) and let out a string of obscenities.
"If George kills me make sure no one finds out, okay" Fred asked with a somewhat pained and somewhat mischievous look.
Hermione laughed at his joke and nodded. Fred looked at her while she laughed and thought she was the most beautiful women in the world. He noticed the way her coffee colour eyes lit up when she laughed to make them look more like caramel. Her chestnut hair bounced a little and she laughed from the tips of her toes and not her chest. He couldn't help but stare at her.
"Well, milady, shall I escort you to the apparition point?"
"I would appreciate that very much, kind sir." Hermione giggled as they walked to the apparition point. She was already having fun and she wasn't even drunk yet.
Fred made everything easier for her. He helps with everything, especially pulling her out of her random funks. They usually happened after she saw Ron, but sometimes if something her of Ron she would slip into a funk that couldn't be reversed except through hard work and laughter. Fred wrapped his arms around her when they got to the apparition point and told her to get ready and hold on.
~~~~~~FHG~~~~~~
George was waiting at the apparition point. He was tired of waiting really. They were ten minutes late. Ten minutes. He knew that Fred wasn't the most punctual person but he had hoped that having Hermione with him would make him be on time. Finally he heard the pop of arrival he was waiting for. He turned and saw Fred and Hermione standing there sheepishly.
"Were you two trying to give me a heart attack", George whisper yelled.
"I am so sorry, George", Hermione said before Fred could speak.
"It was my fault really", Fred interjected. "I distracted her for a moment."
"A moment", George practically yelled. "You are twenty minutes late! That's not a moment. That's 10 moments and several interludes."
Hermione giggled. George swirled around to look at her. He was shocked to hear her giggling. It was just a surprising noise coming from the uptight bookworm he knew. The sound made her seem like she was back in Hogwarts walking around with her friends.
"George", Hermione said soothingly. "We should go. Let's not fight about this please. It's supposed to be a fun night remember?"
Fred and George both looked sheepish and nodded.
"All right then. Let's go to this stupid club you guys have been talking about."
Hermione grabbed the two of them and started walking before the boys had really comprehended what was being said. Hermione was surprised when they got to the club and the boys started dragging her to the front.
"Wait, what are you guys doing? What about the line", Hermione asked in a slight panic.
"Chill out 'Mione. We own half of the club. The owner needed some more money so we opted to put some money in it", Fred said cheerfully.
"Okay, but who is the other owner?"
"Fred, George, Granger lovely to see you", drawled Draco Malfoy standing in the doorway.
Hermione turned to the twins.
"He's the other owner?"
"Yes, Draco is the other owner. He's a good one too."
Hermione looked at Draco for a minute before reaching out with her hand.
"I apologize, Draco. That was rude of me. I should not have judged before hearing the truth."
Draco took her hand and shook it looking a little baffled as he did though.
"No problem, Hermione. You guys should go through now. The people in line are getting riled by the fact you cut. They don't know you own half the bar."
Fred and George nodded. Hermione stood in between the boys and looped her arms through theirs. Together they walked in looking ready to party.
