"Now, there is another subject we need to discuss."
Rohan held up a hand, a true, warm smile now curving his lips. "Let me guess. The triplets wish to remain here."
"They do indeed," came the answer, "or, at least, Colton and Jaeden do. Kaeden is of two minds as to what he wishes to do, but I think, as he will not want to be separated from the other two, he will remain."
"I'll speak to them about it, of course, but if they wish to remain, I see no reason why they shouldn't. They've been the companions of your twins and Harry since they could walk. When I spoke to Jaeden a few weeks ago, he had become Hunter's companion."
"He has, and speaking of Harry and Hunter...have you seen them yet today?"
"We have," Aidyn answered with a grin, "though we saw Hunter when we arrived this morning."
"Did you? How so?" Sirius asked.
"Balcony," was all he needed to say, prompting yet another round of laughter, and shakes of several heads. "They're both nervous, of course, and very excited, though for much different reasons. It took us some time to calm them both down, even with Jaed and Cole there to help."
"Are they alright?" James asked quickly, suddenly looking a little worried for his two youngest.
"They're fine, Uncle James," Aidyn answered with a shake of his head, "but I think we are going to have to return sooner, rather than later."
"Why? Is there a problem that needs to be addressed?"
"Not a problem, per se. At least, not yet, but if we let it go for too long, it could become a problem. Hunter's magical core has undergone a growth cycle, as has his Force abilities, which neither should have done until he turned sixteen. What is really becoming worrisome is how the boy's psychic gifts, especially their empathy is responding to their strengthening magical and Force abilities."
"How so?" James sat forward. "You're worried. Why?"
"Their empathy has gotten stronger, especially Hunter's. and his projective empathy has opened much earlier than it did in Harry, and at greater strength."
Sirius moved, feeling James' anxiety triple. Sitting forward in his own chair to lay a hand on James' arm. "Calm down," he ordered his best friend. "Whatever is happening with Hunter we will, as we have always done, handle it."
"As I am sure everyone is aware, Hunter's psychic gifts awoke much earlier than they did in any of us that have them, even Harry and Kili, and theirs opened pretty damn early. The problem with Hunter is not so much that they have awakened so soon...that we could have handled easily. What the problem is, is that they are at near full strength. With the proper training, he's is going to be more powerful then either Aidyn and I are. At his age, it worries us, but that is not what the true problem is."
"Then what is it?" Sirius asked, then watched as Rohan looked at Aidyn, who looked back at him, and shrugged. "Aidyn? Rohan? What is it?"
"They're linking," came softly from Aidyn. "His magic, as if sensing that his Force and psychic abilities could become a problem, is wrapping itself around...intertwining with them as if to contain them. We have absolutely no idea why, or even HOW his magic is reacting like it is. Harry's magical core has nearly doubled, and is doing the same as Hunter's. The only thing we can assume is that their magic, being the dominate of all three, senses that their Force and psychic abilities are dangerous in and of themselves--"
"Which they can be if allowed to remain uncontrolled." Corvus spoke up as he looked at them.
"Yes, and their magic is moving...taking steps to protect them."
"You make it sound like their magic is sentient."
"In a way, it is, but don't ask us how. As I have said, I have no idea why their magic is reacting as it is. We would have to ask those that have made it their life's work to study magic."
"Namely, Albus Dumbledore, or the Dark Lord, Voldemort?"
"Yes. Let's take their empathy...if Harry OR Hunter, but especially Hunter, were to become to emotionally or mentally distressed, there is a very good chance everyone within the Palace would know something was very wrong, if not exactly what."
"Look, we don't want to scare you...any of you, but you need to be prepared, warned. At Hunter's age, at the strength they're gifts are now at, ESPECIALLY in Hunter, they could stop an angry, out of control crowd with a single word, or..." Rohan broke off, shook his head, an unsettled look in his silver eyes.
"Or...what, Rohan? What has you so unsettled?"
"They could kill them."
