Chapter seven
Lucius Malfoy strided up the gravel drive towards Hogwarts. He couldn't believe the information Draco had given him. How could Snape be shagging a mudblood? It was just unethical. She was also a student. The worst part was the fact she was...Hermione Granger. Best friend of Potter. Things had to be put straight. First he'd talk to Snape, then decide if he was going to take further action. He proceeded to the great oak doors and opened them, going into the entrance hall. Then nervously glancing around he went through the door that led to the dungeons and Snape's office. The stone stairway twisted its way down and the torches in their brackets, flickered, casting dark shadows around the stairs. Lucius made his way to Snape's office.
Meanwhile, Hermione and Snape were getting enthusiastic in his office. Hermione was draped over his desk and most of her clothes were on the floor. Snape was on top of her, kissing her neck and caressing her thighs with his hand. Hermione's legs fell open and he leaned in to kiss her more deeply. There was a knock at the door, which made both of them jump and Snape got off Hermione. She sat up and retrieved her robes, quickly slipping them on. Trying to hide her other items of clothing, Snape opened the door.
"Lucius." Snape acknowledged gravely.
"Severus." He said and walked into his office. Hermione was sat on the sofa at the back and Lucius observed her, amused. "What may you be doing here, Miss Granger?"
Hermione blushed and realized that Draco must have told him.
"I...was just about to serve my detention." Hermione faltered.
"I see. Draco has told me some very disturbing news." Lucius looked at Hermione and Snape in turn and smirked at their faces instantly draining of color.
"What has he told you?" Snape asked nonchalantly.
"Well..." Lucius chuckled." You really need to be told?" He raised his eyebrows.
"It's none of your business, Malfoy." Snape said through gritted teeth.
"Oh, I think it is." Lucius said darkly.
"How?" Snape asked irritably.
"A mudblood?" He said simply and gestured to Hermione.
"How dare you!" Snape pointed is wand at Malfoy.
"Now, now, now." Lucius said, raising his hands in mock surrender. " I will give you two days. If you haven't ceased your torrid affair by then, I will take action."
"What sort of action?" Snape asked uncertainly.
"I will go to Dumbledore." Lucius opened the door and walked out, before they could say anything. Snape pushed the door together.
"I'm afraid your have to leave then." Snape said to a panic stricken Hermione.
"Surely Dumbledore wouldn't trust Lucius?" Hermione said, completely ignoring him.
"We can't be to sure." Snape paced the length of his office. " How will he know that we have stopped seeing each other?"
"The marauder's map." Hermione said suddenly. "I don't know how he has it, but that has to be the way he knows we're together."
"Yes..." Snape said." We're going to have to end our affair then."
"No!" Hermione yelled in alarm. "But I suppose we could for a few months and then when it's blown over, start it again."
"That's a good idea. Lucius said he would give us two days to end the affair, so by rights that means we can see each other up till then." Snape explained.
Hermione gave him a suggestive smile.
"Where were we before we were so rudely interrupted, Miss Granger?" Snape said in a lighthearted tone.
"You were just about to fuck me over your desk." Hermione stood up and removed her robes. She still had on her underwear and Snape felt himself go hard at the sight of her body.
" Right, come here then." Snape grabbed Hermione and pinned her against the wall.

Hermione walked back up to Gryffindor tower. That had certainly been some session with Snape. As she walked along the corridor, Hermione heard something in an apparently empty classroom. She looked through the door window and what she saw nearly made her collapse. It was Draco Malfoy and Professor McGonagall- over a desk? Urgh, that's disgusting, Hermione thought. Then a brilliant idea struck her. If he was blackmailing her about Snape, she could do exactly the same thing. She waited outside the door, out if view and tried not to listen. This was going to haunt her now.
After a while, Draco came out of the classroom, looking very pleased with himself.
"So Malfoy." Hermione revealed herself. "Let's say we call a truce. You get your father not to blab to Dumbledore and I'll keep your disgusting secret." Hermione folded her arms.
"What are you on about, Granger?" Malfoy asked threateningly.
"Professor McGonagall?" Hermione said with a laugh. "I thought you have more taste."
Malfoy looked at Hermione with an insolent stare. "It wasn't my choice."
"Yeah, yeah." Hermione raised her eyebrows. "Well, you better go and tell your father that the blackmail is off. Other wise I'm going straight to Dumbledore with my new found information."
Malfoy stormed off and Hermione gave a satisfied smirk. That's done it.

The next morning in the Gryffindor common room, Parvati Patil, one of the senior prefects, came to speak to Hermione.
"You're wanted in Dumbledore's office." She said and then went. Hermione's heart jumped. What could he want?
She jumped up and raced out the portrait hole. This could be bad. Very bad. Hermione ran along the corridors until she got to the stairs that went up to Dumbledore's office. She stood on the steps and they went up. She didn't even have to state a password.
When Hermione stepped off the rotating stairs she knocked on the oak-paneled door.
"Come in." Dumbledore's distinct voice called out. She entered. Snape was sitting down before Dumbledore's desk and there was a chair next to him for her to sit in. She took it.
"Now, Lucius Malfoy and Draco Malfoy have made some very serious allegations against you, Miss Granger. Severus." He nodded towards Snape. "I'm afraid that I have found out these allegations to be true."
Hermione's heart pounded.
"How?" She asked urgently.
"I can not divulge that information, Miss Granger." Dumbledore said seriously.
"So what is going to happen?" Snape asked calmly.
"I am sorry Severus but you're going to have to be transported." Dumbledore peered at them over his half-moon spectacles.
"To where?" Snape asked, panicked.
"Durmstrang." Dumbledore said simply.
"What!" Hermione shrieked. "But that's in Germany!"
"We don't know that for sure, Miss Granger." Dumbledore corrected her.
"Well all the facts point that way." She said vaguely. She looked at Snape. "What are we going to do?"
Snape shook his head.
"I bid you go and pack, Severus." Dumbledore said firmly.
"Yes, Albus." Snape got up and exited the office.
"So Miss Granger, how did you and Severus get together? Rather an odd couple don't you think?" Dumbledore looked inquiringly at her.
"I don't know." Hermione hung her head. She had to talk to Severus! There was something she had to tell him. "Could I be excused?" She asked, getting up. Dumbledore nodded and Hermione rushed from the room.
As she rushed through the many corridors, she found herself getting lost. Even after all the years she'd been at the school. Finally, she ran down the marble staircase and saw Snape just about to go out the door. He only had a trunk with him.
"Severus!" Hermione raced across the entrance hall. She stopped when she got to him.
It was lunchtime and most pupils were coming out of the Great Hall, having just finished their lunch. They stopped and watched Hermione and Snape. They were intrigued, as she'd just called him Severus.
"Don't go," She pleaded. Even though she new he had to.
"I'm sorry Hermione, but I've got too." He took her hand. Cornelius Fudge, minister for magic, was standing behind Snape, looking quite stern.
"Come on, Severus." He said impatiently.
They ignored him.
"I love you though." Hermione whispered. She didn't want the crowd of students to hear that.
"I love you too." Snape said quietly. He made to go, but Hermione kept hold of his hand.
"One other thing." She said. Snape looked up. "I'm pregnant."
Snape's mouth dropped open. "W-What?"
"I'm pregnant." Hermione repeated.
"Come on, Severus." Cornelius said gruffly.
"I heard." He told her slightly faint. "I have to go."
"Write to me." Hermione said as his hand slipped out of hers.
Snape nodded and he turned away, walking out of the great oak doors. They slammed shut behind him. Hermione felt tears sting her eyes. Pregnant? A tear fell down her cheek. What if he didn't write? He would. She knew he would. What was she going to do?
