"From the looks of this file," Colten began, "you've been very busy," he said instead of what he WANTED to say, "and very thorough. You've gotten about halfway through each of these lists."
A nod. "We have, and now that the woman is dead, things are likely to begin moving once again," Alexei said, watching the others read through the files they'd been given. "Once we--"
Roark, who had been looking around his office at each of the Officers that had been sent to help them, studying each of them carefully, suddenly noticed something...something that was out of place but shouldn't have been. Jumping to his feet, he moved quickly, bringing everyone in the room alert for possible trouble, some even reaching for their weapons,
They watched as he moved to the sideboard, above which he and Harry had placed an oil painting of Caprica Bay. Reaching up, he turned the painting just enough to pull the folded paper taped to it free. Replacing the painting, he opened the paper and began to read what had been written there.
A slow smile began to curve his lips as he looked up. "Explode is more like it, Lex," he said, handing the paper over to him. "From one of our friends. There's probably another one som--" the door hissed open suddenly to admit a darkly frowning Severus.
"Alright, who's the daft moron--" he began with a furious scowl, only to freeze when he saw the twenty men crowded into the office. "WHAT the--Are they INSANE? TWENTY TEAMS? Just where are the rest of you?"
"Seeing to our apartments. How nice to see you again, Severus." Aiden said as he got to his feet, stretching. "Dacian asked me to give you a hug from him, but from the look on your face, I think I'll just stay right here, shall I?"
Severus looked at him and snorted, amusement flickering through his dark eyes. "You do that, Aid. When I get my hands on that--No, never mind," he said with a deep sigh, running his hand through his hair. "We're likely going to need every one of you before this is over."
"Agreed, and while I wasn't happy they were sent here...they're here now, so we may as well make use of them."
"Gee, Rory, a great way to make us feel welcome," Damien said as he threw him a half amused, half-exasperated look.
Harry got to his feet and came around his desk. "You're welcome, Damien. It's just that we're tired of seeing our friends, our fellow warriors, die." He looked at Severus, a brow arching. "So, daft moron?"
"To disturb me when I'm in the middle of working," he growled darkly, midnight eyes snapping with irritation once again. "THIS," he held up a folded sheet of paper," just appeared on my workbench as I was gathering up the last of the ingredients I needed for the potion I was working on. It's from one of our friends. He says Riddle has a trafficker coming in from Piscia, as well as three shipments of drugs. One from Libra, another from Leo, and the third is from Cancer."
"We got one too," Roark told him with a nod to the note that Greyson now had. "We have shipments going out to Scorpia, Taura, and the third is to Saggitara. We also have two shipments from traffickers listed. One from Cancer, the other from Taura."
"Now all we're going to have to do is figure out when and where," Harry said as he took the crumbled note from Severus' hand, smoothed it out, and read it. "Hopefully that won't be as hard as it sounds as there are only a few places left that he can land them, as well as leave from." He looked up. "Was the potion ruined?"
"No, it just needs to simmer for the next twelve centars."
"What is it you're brewing, Severus?"
A grin. "I'll let you know if it works, Grey. Harry, what are you thinking on so hard?" he asked.
"How to put a stop to all of this. Ardyn? I think we're going to need," his head tilted slightly, a thoughtful look on his face, doing some swift calculations in his head. They had twenty Counter-Intelligence teams, forty men, but..."What do you think, Rory? About fifteen from the Garrison?"
"Hum? OH! Yes...yes, that would be good, I think."
There had been a very slight pause, noticed by all of them who were paying attention to him, which was all of them. Boomer's dark eyes were narrowed on Ardyn, watching his reactions, while Zac suddenly frowned, as he looked at him. Both of them thought the same thing.
There was something wrong. Something very...OFF with their friend, but what it was neither of them could put a finger to. "Of course," he answered, looking between the brothers. "What do you plan to do first?"
"Well, until we get those landing and takeoff points, there's little we can do there. There's a new illegal gambling hall that just popped up a few sectons {weeks} ago near the end of Waterplace Hill. A new Pleasure house on Aqualeen Avenue near the canal, and a new drug den a few buildings from there. We're all going to have to be extra careful though. Riddle has given his people a shoot to kill order."
"Sounds like our...friends may have taken a few too many risks of their own to get this much information in one go."
"Hum...they're probably feeling much like we do, Dante. This needs to end. And it needs to end now. For that to happen, more risks are going to have to be taken. We are going to bring this to a head as quickly as we can."
"Roark?" came the sudden question from Ardyn, drawing several eyes to him.
Roark turned to look at him. "Ardyn?"
"Any idea who our friends so close to Riddle are?"
'Even if I did know, I certainly would not be telling you,' he thought. "None. Only Admiral Roark, Commander Thorin, Dacian, Gabriel, Raphael, and Schyler know who they are, and none of them are talking. Kale knew, but he said nothing to Logan, Fili, or Kili."
"I think," Harry spoke up then, "that we'll find out who they are only when THEY decide to let us know, and not before."
"When would you like to get started, Rory?" Dylan asked, giving him a grin.
"Are you guys ready to get your feet wet, so to speak?"
"Absolutely," they all answered, which got smiles from the Peverell Potter brothers.
"Let's get this started," Aiden told them as he moved to the map that Roark was now looking at, noticing the pins in some places. "Is this all the spots he's either shipped from or dropped from?"
"Yes. He's been using the dead shipping and land routes, switching them up frequently in the hopes of confusing us. Sometimes it's worked. The smaller map," he pointed to the map on the other side of the painting, "is of the Capitol, Aquarian City. The red pins are the illegal gambling halls, Pleasure houses, and drug dens that are still up and running. The blue pins are the ones we've closed down. The yellow pins are from where his whores are walking the streets, the green ones are from where his drugs are being sold. The black ones represent his auction places."
They each moved to study both of the maps. "Very thorough, boys," Greyson said, looking at them with a wide smile. "There's more blue than red on the maps. Good."
"Thanks. One other thing, Except for those in this room, and with your partners, we discuss nothing with anyone. What is said in this office stays in this office."
"Agreed. How many leaks do you actually have?"
