Bryce was quickly becoming part of the family. He was even dubbed "Uncle Bryce" to Severin, and he was very gifted when it came to children. Often when Adrien or Luna couldn't get him to sleep, Bryce was usually the one who was able to do so. Adrien had called him a life saver, and Luna was gracious. Which is why Adrien decided he wouldn't have Bryce's life the way it was. Adrien pulled Severus aside after the summer began, and the two engaged in a hushed conversation.

"I don't feel it's right that his parents are being the way they are about his sexuality." Adrien told Severus.

"What do you propose we do about it, Adrien? Threaten them?" Severus chuckled at his own idea, and soon kicked himself for it when Adrien got that look in his eye. "No, Adrien. It's best just to leave it alone. We can be his family."

"No I can't leave it alone. He's become a really good friend to me. Just give it some thought okay? At least go talk to them. You're persuasive." Adrien said.

"I don't believe being intimidating is persuasion." Severus sighed. "Fine. I'll give it some thought, and I'll talk to Hermione to see what she thinks about it."

"Yes." Hermione said joining into the conversation. Severus hadn't seen her coming to investigate.

"Yes?" Severus asked arching a brow at his wife.

"Yes. He deserves for someone to stand up for him. Look at him." Hermione said. They all turned their attention toward Bryce laying on a blanket on the floor with Severin making different colored butterflies flow from his wand for the baby's entertainment.

Severus abruptly walked toward the younger wizard. "Bryce. Have you heard from your family lately?"

Bryce looked confused. "No... Why do you ask?"

"Adrien, Hermione and I don't feel it's right the way they're treating you about this... Sexuality of yours."

Bryce blushed slightly. "So... What should I do about it?"

"It's not about what you need to do about it, Bryce,-" Adrien said coming to lean against the wall. "It's about what we want to do about it." he winked.

"Oh.. Oh god, no. My parents are muggles."

"I am aware of that. What is your father like?" Severus asked.

"He's just a drunk mostly. Began drinking himself sober when I got into school. What are you going to do to them?" Bryce asked.

"Just going to scare the living fuck out of them." Adrien laughed. "I've got my ways."

"How so?"

"Bryce, if I show you something, you have to promise me you'll never tell anyone about it. Okay?"

Bryce nodded slowly. "Yeah, sure, Adrien.. I won't tell a soul." he watched wide eyed as Adrien shifted into the majestic black cat.

"Fucking wicked. I'm sold." Bryce laughed reaching out to pet Dartagnan like he was just a normal housecat.

"At Hogwarts, the students were all convinced I kept a Panther as a pet." Severus rolled his eyes.

"This is fucking awesome! Okay. Yeah. I'm down for this idea. Entirely." Bryce said still ruffling Dartagnan's fur.

"Alright then." Adrien said, shifting back into his human self. "We'll go tomorrow."

"But... Are you an animagus too?" Bryce asked Severus.

"Yes. But my form is much smaller."

"No one else but Luna and Hermione knows though, Bryce, so I can't stress enough not to tell anyone." Adrien said.

"I'm not going to tell anyone. I'm glad I'm in on this bit of information. I thought you two were interesting, but this is a whole new level." Bryce laughed.

"So it's settled. Project scare the fuck out of Bryce's parents shall commence." Adrien beamed happily. "I've been dying for a bit of fun."

"Alright, Bryce. This is your chance to play hero to your parents, and hopefully, it'll work out in our favor. What my father and I are going to do is, I'm going to shift, and we're going to walk in there while they're unsuspecting. He's going have a word with your mother and father while I stand behind waiting for anyone to object. When that happens, Dartagnan will come out of nowhere and pounce on your father. When you hear his shouts, I want you to come in, and stun me."

Bryce's eyes grew wide. "S-Stun you? You're crazy, Adrien."

"Yes. I am. After you stun me, my father is going to grab hold of me and we're going to apparate back home. You can choose to stay here and talk things out with your parents, or you can follow. Let's do it."

Severus placed the over-sized hood over his head to take careful measure to ensure that they couldn't see his face and entered the house. Adrien shifted into Dartagnan and followed far behind while Bryce disillusioned himself and waited outside. Severus took slow steps through the house scanning the rooms he passed for anyone inside. He stopped abruptly outside of the sitting room and drew his wand as the sound of the television reached him. Dartagnan gave Severus's leg a tap with a giant paw to let him know he was prepared. Severus nodded and entered the room where he saw two very plain looking muggles that called up memories of the Dursleys.

Bryce's mother looked as if she was going to scream when she caught sight of the black figure coming into the room.

"Do not scream. Make one sound, and I will hex you into oblivion." Severus warned; his tone a low growl.

"Wh-what do you want?" they both exclaimed recoiling at his demand.

"You." Severus said, pointing his wand at Bryce's father. "You dismiss your own child for his sexuality. That's quite a heinous act and a betrayal of your own humanity."

"Who are you?" Bryce's father asked, voice shaking.

"It matters not who I am." Severus said calmly. He gripped his wand harder as Bryce's father made to grab for the gun beneath his armchair. Severus was reading the man's thoughts loud and clear.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." he said taking a step closer to the man.

"My son is a queer. No one in my family has ever been queer! He doesn't deserve to be a part of it!" Bryce's father exclaimed, signaling Dartagnan.

The woman screamed as she caught glimpse of the giant cat bounding around the corner. Severus had to resist the urge to laugh, as the man's face morphed into one of pure horror upon seeing Dartagnan himself.

"No! Please!" he shouted trying to move from the armchair. No sooner than he stood up, he was on his back on the floor with the great cat hovering over him. Dartagnan growled loudly and menacingly; his green eyes boreing deep into the man's. "Please, whatever you want, please! Jane, do something!"

"Wh-what am I supposed to-"

"Petrificus Totalus!" Bryce shouted, pointing his wand at Dartagnan. A blast of red light erupted, and the cat fell limp. Severus quickly jumped to grab hold of his son, and disapparated.

"Bryce! Oh my... You saved our lives, son!" his mother gushed, rushing over to her son to wrap him up in a hug, but he pointed his wand at her. She stopped quickly seeing the gesture. "Bryce.."

"It's pretty fucking sad that it takes me "saving" your lives for you to want to accept me." he said, staring at his father who was still shocked lying on the floor.

"Bryce, we always accepted you." his mother lied.

"I'm not a child anymore. I'm not going to believe a word of it, just because I desperately want for it to be true. If you two want me around, you're going to have to prove it. But until then, I'll be gone." and with that, he disapparated back to Snape Manor.

"That. Was. Fucking awesome!" Bryce shouted bursting through the doors where he found a very winded Adrien and Severus, who seemed to be laughing their arses off.

"Oh, oh gods.." Adrien breathed. "That was just too fucking good. You should have seen your father's face!"

"What happened after we left?" Severus asked.

"I told them it was sad that it took me "saving" them for them to want to accept me into their lives. Basically, I told them they needed to prove it to me, but until that happens, I'll be gone." Bryce explained.

"Good. Really good. Don't play into their games. Make them work for your respect." Severus told him.

Bryce nodded and smiled fondly at the two men before him. "You two are the best. All of you are. Thank you all so much. For everything."

"It's no trouble. We like the mischief and trickery." Adrien winked at Bryce before bursting into another fit of uncontrollable laughter.
