It had been a week since Severus had seen anyone, seen Yuki. He had been avoiding everyone; staying away from order head quarters; out of
Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley. He hadn't left his house since the day he found Yuki in Knockturn Alley. He didn't expect to see her down
there, and he wished she hadn't seen him down there. No doubt Remus and them now have told her everything about him and she'll see him just the
same as everyone else. He was not looking forward to the time when he would have to meet with her. She probably wouldn't let him inside her
mind again. Which he really didn't mind all that much. He didn't want her back inside his head again and seeing all the things he longed to
forget. But he knew he had to go back to number twelve. He knew he had to go back inside her head and thoughts. He had put off seeing her for
too long: a week. Someone would contact him if he didn't show up soon. So when he could put it off no more Severus apparated outside of number
twelve, and drug himself to the door. It was the first time he felt wrong for just walking in and not knocking. But once inside he could hear
sweet laughter coming from the kitchen area and was drawn to the room. No one noticed him at first and he stood in the doorway watching. It was
Remus, Sirius and Yuki, sitting across from each other and talking. There was a book in Yuki's hands but she kept looking up from it at Sirius
who had nothing but a drink before him and was talking animatedly. Remus' laughter was not as bold as he sat next to Sirius, listening to him
jabber on.
"Hello there Professor Snape," Molly said from behind him. Severus, and everyone else, turned around. Molly walked past him into the kitchen
and Severus was left to endure the stares at everyone in the kitchen.
"Hello Severus," Yuki said.
Severus could not reply and ended up just staring at her till she looked back down at her book.
"To what do we owe the honor of your wonderful presence, Snape?" Sirius asked.
"I'm here to do that of which Dumbledore had requested," Severus told him coldly.
"Well maybe she doesn't want to today Sevy," Sirius said as he leaned back in his chair. "I mean who would want you in their head?"
"Sirius," Remus warned. "Perhaps you can use the empty room upstairs, no one will bother you there." Remus suggested.
"Moony, you would leave a poor defenseless girl alone with Snivilly?" Sirius sat back up in his chair.
"I'm not some poor defenseless girl," Yuki said in the smallest voice, "We can use my room Severus."
Yuki nodded her head towards those in the room and walked out past Severus. He followed her up the stairs and into her room. It was very
strange to be in her room. Though it was not decorated or there were no personal things about he still felt as though he was invading some
personal space.
"I figure we can do it here in case the same thing happens as before," she told him.
"Very well."
Yuki pulled two chairs to the middle of the room and sat them across from each other and took a seat. Severus followed and sat across from
her, keeping his hands tucked in his lap.
"Will I pass out again?" she asked him.
"I don't know, thats never happened before."
"Well then, why did it happen to me?"
Severus thought for a moment, looking into her bright green eyes but keeping out of her mind. "I'm not sure. I think maybe because you are
muggle and magic had a different affect on muggles."
"I was the first muggle you had ever down that too?"
"No..." he told her.
"But then why did none of then have the same effect then I?"
It felt like twenty questions and Severus did not want to play. He did not want to tell her his theory on why he thought it had that affect
on her. tell her that why he forced his way into her mind he was also pushing himself out, blocking himself. She would question him on that and
he wasn't willing to answer.
"I think we should get to it I don't have all day," he sternly said.
Yuki looked down and fiddled with her hands. "I'm sorry." she softly said.
Severus immediately felt sorry for his own reaction to her. "Lets just...start."
Yuki nodded her head but did not look back up. She appeared very submissive to Severus and for some reason he didn't like her in the
position.
"You have to look in my eyes for it to work," he told her.
She looked up at him and he was struck again by her green eyes. Just like before they felt as though they were looking into him. He
had to fight the urge to look away. He looked at her so long and forgot about his task till she blinked. He closed his eyes for a second, shook
his head, and concentrated on her eyes.
Swirls of green flowed together, light shining from behind and casting into Severus' mind. The fog rose and vanished and before him was
the long haired girl. She was young, maybe twelve, but she had already very feminine features. She was running through a forest, a thick forest
and the deeper she ran the thicker it got till the light vanished.---a mist rose in the dark and blew away--heat: it was hot, no humid. A steam
was emanating from something. The room was dark save for a red light being cast from the hot coals in a large basin in the middle of the
room.--the steam spread around the room covering the light and dispersed quickly--A girl, wearing a torn white dress. She was on her knees on
a dark marble floor. Her head down, her body shook, her arms and legs were covered in dark, purple spots. But her face was down, she could not
be seen. A tall figure, all in black came from the shadows behind her. he started to step into the light--The light vanished as the fog came
back and swept him away---the space filled with green again, a faint almost lifeless green. It formed into two round spots with long black
lashes extending from them.
Severus blinked and Yuki came back into focus. Her eyes looked glazed over and her breath was shallow. She didn't move nor blink and Severus
worried it was worse then before; thinking she must have saw something of his own memories.
"Yuki," he called and reached his hand to her shoulder. She shook herself out of it and looked at Severus in confusion. "Are you alright?" he
asked her.
"I...think so," she sighed. "Did you see anything?"
Yuki clutched her chest and tried to regulate her breathing, all the while waiting from Severus to answer her.
"Very little, and it was in more bits and pieces," he told her.
"Then how are we ever supposed to find anything out?"
"I'm going to try and piece everything together, it will take some time," Severus said.
Yuki looked a bit disappointed but still tried to catch her breath.
"Perhaps you should rest," he told her and moved to the door. Just as he was turning the handle Yuki stopped him with another of her twenty
questions.
"Were you really a deatheater?"
Severus slowly turned around to face her. She looked back at him and asked him again silently. She really wanted to know and somehow, Severus could tell, she didn't mind the answer.
"Yes"
"Oh, will you be back tomorrow?" she asked him.
Severus had had no intention of coming back so quickly, so he was throughly confused when he answered her. "Yes." He walked out of her room and closed the door behind him. And he left number twelve without saying goodbye to the others. They watched him walk past them out the door and resumed their usual activities just the same.
