Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Poter, I make no money off of this. I write for fun. This wonderful series of books is written by the fantastic JK Rowling. |
Ok so I got into a bit of a rut for this chapter and I had to force it out. Why? Because I have a nasty habbit of abandoning stories a few chapters into them because I can't think of filler all the time. Sorry if this reads out a bit forced. NEXT CHAPTER WILL BE DARK! It won't be for the faint of heart at certain points and will involve rape, bondage, and other things. There, I warned you. I'll put another warning at the chapter top but for now, you're safe. This chapter is simple character development and devious planning.

Draco was looking forward to a bath. He hadn't had a shower last night and nothing sounded better than kicking back and relaxing in the tub. The elves had, of course, already filled the giant bath with steaming water and as his hand rested against the door he could feel the heat pouring out of the cracks. He carelessly unbuttoned his shirt and tossed it onto the carpet, and tugged at his trousers. A few profanities left his mouth when he lowered his pants to reveal his simi hard cock. In the mirror across the room Draco stole a glance at Mai. Not only was she fully clothed but her eyes were closed tightly, as though willing away the situation would help. He silently pulled off his boxers and walked over to her, if she wouldn't undress herself he'd be happy to do it for her. His hands pulled and tugged at the soft fabric until it loosened and fell from her body. Morning robes were so less formal and others and easier to take off. Peaking around her front he noted that her eyes were now clamped shut and her body was trembling. He wanted to think it was from the cold air of the room but knew it was only because of her fear for him. She thought they were going to have sex again, and she was clearly petrified at the thought.
Draco let go of her shoulders and strolled past her to the bathroom door. His bathroom was even more extravagant than his own damn room. The ceiling was made of a thick glass and allowed the room to be bathed in sunlight. There was a massive pool/tub in the shape of a large sea turtle. At the fins of the turtle were large and powerful jets along with seats, these could be closed off and kept at a separate temperature than the rest of the pool. The head of creature was a large animated stone, shaped and charmed to move like the head of a real turtle. The neck stood at it's tallest 12 feet in the air and a large waterfall ran down it's back, along with a slide that zig zaged around the neck before landing you in the 18 foot depth of the pool. Inside the water were many fish of all different shapes and sizes, fish that could adjust to what ever temperature he set the water onto. Finally around the pool's outer rim was a light current, enough to float in if he so chose, and above it there was a large multi-spout contraption that would rain down shower water if he so chose. It was in the very least over the top, but Draco loved it. Most of his time was in fact spent in this room, swimming helped him clear his head. He lead the still blinded (by her own will) and stiff Mai into the steamy room and to the water's edge.
First he felt it with his own toe, she was still bound to be a bit sore and he didn't need her burnt on top of it all. Finding the pool to be warm without scalding he took a step into the shallows and tugged on his wife. At first she lifted a foot but at the noise of water sloshing as Draco entered she slammed it back down into the sea foam green tiles of the floor. Her large grey eyes snapped open and she reared back with enough force to knock him over. " What the hell is wrong with you!?" A now soaked Draco screamed at an extremely panicked Mai. His grip was slippery on her wrist, threatening to loose her all together if he didn't keep a firm hold. "I will not willingly allow you to drown me! NOW LET ME GO!" She hissed loudly, smacking his hand with stinging force. "I will do no such thing! Now get in. You are dirty!" He pointed to the caked blood that Severus had not Scourgified. Mai would have none of it though. She kicked her feet out and pulled until she was free of Draco and bounded for the exit. In a flash he grabbed his wand and shut the door. He had to move carefully so as not to trip as he gave chase to her around the large room. Finally he cornered her, hands held up, and let his wand fall. "Ok, just because we had some disagreements last night doesn't mean I'd bloody drown you! I'm not a horrible person! Last night was your fault for being so stubborn and hot headed!" He insisted, holding out a hand for her to take. Draco hadn't been this worried about her harming him before. She was scared the night of the rape but he'd been in a rage, he'd been armed and ready to protect himself. Afraid... yet human in her fears Draco had felt confident enough to force himself on her. Right now, Mai looked anything but human. Every muscle in her body trembled, her chest heaved erratically, he doubted it was possibly her eyes grow any wider or dart about the room any faster, hair was frazzled and laid stuck to her face from sweat, and her feet padded against the floor, as if marching in place as she looked for a way out. Draco felt like he'd cornered a beast instead of a woman. It became real to him in that very second that her ears and tail weren't just ornaments, they weren't just there for no reason. They were physical manifestations of the animal inside.
The bands around her wrist shook and glowed, desperately attempting to keep her magic and deadly personal weapons at bay. "Ok, let's just all... settle down ok? I won't hurt you if you just get in the water. I won't even get near you!" He insisted, in a flash his hand jutted out and took a hold on her damp arm. She yelped and tried to pull back but his hand was drier now and he had a grip of steel. Still his voice remained sickeningly calm as he tried to coax her toward the water. The closer they got the more frantic she became. Not knowing what else to do, Draco wrapped her into a hug, thinking the contact would soothe her. He was very wrong. With a strength he didn't know she possessed her knee made contact with his unprotected organ and his grip loosened. Draco was pissed off now. All he wanted to do was take a bloody bath! How dare she attack him! He reached up from his doubled over position and grabbed her hair before she could escape, literally throwing her into the water behind him. He was trying to take some deep breaths and calm himself, he hadn't the time to punish her right now. Slowly he lifted his hand from his now painfully throbbing member and winced, perhaps Snape had a potion for numbing pain.
The sound of frantic splashing drew his attention back to his wife. In about 10 feet of water, she was clawing at the surface and bobbing from under the water to above it. He stood there perplexed for a moment, wondering what was going on... panic struck him as she started spitting out water and screaming for help. She was drowning! Without a second thought he dove into the pool and grabbed a hold of her. "Shhh sh sh shh settle down I've got you!" He begged, trying to pull her to the shallows. Mai couldn't seem to rationalize and continued to struggle. When they stood in no more than three feet of water, near the edge, he thought she would settle. Instead she clawed at the tiles until her nails broke off. No matter how hard he tried to force her, she wouldn't be still. He tried everything, smacking her across the face (much harder than necessary), shaking her, yelling, talking nice, simply holding her. Mai wanted OUT! And she would apparently settle for no less. Her fingers were now bleeding from trying to get out of the pool and the fish huddled in a distant corner, fearing for their lives. "Get me out of the water! GET ME OUT OF THE WATER!" She finally started to scream, at least she was becoming a little more human in her fears and verbalizing. Draco finally gave up, and let her crawl out and to the door, collapsing in a heap. Her face was stained with tears and her body shook with sobs. He washed himself, and went over to pick up his wand to mutter a quick cleaning spell on Mai. She was still in hysterics. With a sigh he wrapped a towel around his waist and apperated out of the room and to the dungeons with a pop. There had to be something he could use to settle her down.
He was thumbing through the cupboard of potions when Snape walked in. Casually the professor sighed, "Is there a reason you are raiding my private stores Mr. Malfoy?" The older man seemed more upset that Draco was into his things than Draco being stark naked less than three feet away. "Um yes well you see my new wife is apparently a mental case and I need something to calm her down. Ah! Here is a calming drought!" He said grasping the bottle. Snape's hand was over his in an instant. "I will not allow you to use my private stores to keep your woman at a controllable level." He seethed, his obsidian eyes locking with the younger Malfoy fiercely. Draco wasn't in the mood, "We have an appointment to make!" He challenged right back. Snape was not about to sit here and argue back and forth like a little child. With methodical slowness he straightened his robes, "Then by all means invade your father's stores." The words were said through a cruel grin. Severus knew very well that Draco would never go to his father for anything... especially not his wife. While Lucius would give Draco what ever he pleased it would not come without the price of wanting to know why his son needed it. With an annoyed glare Draco leveled with the older man. "What exactly do you want?" He snarled under his breath. Snape's lips turned up into a nasty and cruel smile, "One night. I want one night... with her. In return I'll let you invade my stores at any time for the next three years and I won't breathe a word to your father." His sneer was sick and almost pleased in a way. Draco wanted to refuse him. He didn't really want to share his wife with anyone. But the more he thought about it the more he had to admit the plan could be useful and benefit the both of them. He doubted the professor would even go through with it. From the smell of him he was a little drunk and disorientated himself. "One night... and one night only." Severus smiled as Draco agreed and they shook hands on it. If he hadn't have been drunk, and if he hadn't have been so lustful and angry with Draco, Snape would have realized that he'd just made a huge mistake...
~~~~~~~
She hated him. Mai was quite certain of that fact. The man she'd married was an ass and not only did she hate him... she'd never been more afraid in her life. It was odd and scarey the way his moods changed. Within the past half hour he'd tried to hug her, squeeze her in two, screamed in her face, shook her violently, petted her hair, spoke softly, encouraged her, and half drowned her just to jump in and save her. At the moment Mai was considering drowning as a practical solution to her problem. How long could she live with a man that was clearly insane? Her reaction to the water had been normal. She dared a glace back over to the extravagent bath and shivered. You'd think that growing up on an island would cure and pathological fears of the water but that was far from the truth. As a pup she could remember having 4 brothers one day and then after a storm, there was just her. Barely even her. She'd almost drowned herself. When her mother returned to the den so see the last remaining child she'd bore cowering in the corner and crying the old bitch had only shrugged and said she could always try again. Once Mai even over heard her talking to the shaman of the tribe about her and her brothers. "They were a bad bunch. I suppose a hen as to lay bad eggs sometime hm?" The cold snide voice of her mother rang in her head. "Mai is still here. She shows promise." The old man had tried to defend her. "Promise? For what? The girl is a handful. Undisaplined, foolish, naieve, hot headed, clumsy, tell me which of those comments you find promising?" She'd hissed. Mai shook her head and tried to stand on wobbly legs. She didn't want to think about her mother anymore... at the moment Mai wasn't too keen on thinking at all. If the words would stop ringing through her mind she'd be a much happier young lady. Plopping back onto her ass, Mai burried her face in her hands and tried to force herself to stop sobbing. Two weeks after the talk with the shaman, three weeks after the flood, Mai had been 'mysteriously taken' by the men from the fighting rings. All because of water. The only good thing that came from water, was water you could drink. It wasn't like she needed it to clean herself anyway. They had fire and spells for such things as cleaning your house and yourself. Methods that allowed her to hide from her fears like the coward she was.
A loud pop littlerally jerked Mai from her thoughts. With a tiny flinch she peaked an eye open to see Draco. Did these people walk no where?! It was damned lazy! In his hand was a large glass of water, something she was desperatly needing. Both the heat from this room and her frantic fit had drained her resources. She ripped it from his hands and scooted away from him. It was drugged. She knew that in some way he would drug her. At the moment she didn't care WHAT he gave her. Even poison was welcome. The water splashed against her tongue as she tipped the glass back and gulped it carelessly. She could hear Draco muttering a spell and felt a slight tingle as he cleaned her body with a few simple words. Thankfully he seemed to have given up on this whole 'bath' concept. He simply turned and began to fuss over his own hair in the mirror. Mai almost snorted, this family was quite fond of their reflection. She wondered if it showed them for who they really were if they would still be so keen... she highly doubted that. It was slow, but Mai began to feel much more relaxed. Her breathing returned to normal and her heart rate slowed to a resting tempo. She felt conflicted as what ever he'd given her pushed away her fears. On the one hand she was relaxed on the other... this was yet another thing he could force her to do if he pleased. Even her emotions seemed to have to fall under his control. The man was bleeding mad. She noticed his heavy stare leveling on her. "We haven't got the whole day! Malfoys are not late!" He scolded, gripping her arm and pulling her onto her feet. Mai wanted to say she wasn't a Malfoy and didn't give a damn about being late to his appointment. That's a wizard thing. Just so you know. Toitaz never join names. They each keep their own name. It's clear to all who was mated and who wasn't. They didn't need to strip one or the other of their name in order to claim a female.
She let him comb through her hair, even managed to mask her disgust because of the effects of the potion. He dressed her in a pair of his mother's robes, they swallowed her whole but at least, she wasn't 'whoreish' which was another thing she didn't understand. Draco felt intimidated by other males. That was obvious. He wouldn't have made it a second in her world. Alphas and mates couldn't care less if their mate walked around naked, so long as the others knew not to throw a single glance in their loved one's direction. She snorted, males scarecly even cared where their mates were so long as they returned home when needed. The same was said for most females too. Such insecurites were petty and childish to Mai. She should have been able to wear what ever she wanted and he should accept that. He wouldn't though. Human males were notoriously touchy. With little prtest she allowed him to grab her and and apperate away... she was far too drugged to put up a fight.
Perhaps he'd meant for this to happen or maybe he was just too stupid to read the dosing labels for potions. Did wizards have those? She groaned for the millionth time within the hour and struggled to stay on her wobbling feet. Mai was tired. They hadn't even done much of anything and she felt like she'd been hit by a truck. Her pale hand went to rub at her temple again and she glared furiously at the band around her wrist. If it wasn't for this damn thing! She would take the head off of this woman's shoulders. 'Madam Malkin' meant well but if she pricked her one more time with a damned needle Mai would kill her. She'd already be dead if Mai had any weapons or means at all to do so. They'd been here well over an hour and it appeared as though her husband had a hell of a lot more fashion sense than she. For a moment she had to remind herself that he was even biologically a man. Males in her culture just didn't care. If they did then she'd never been told about it. However to males the color of their wife's attire seemed increasingly important. Mai had tried to talk to Draco about it but her words came out jumbled and slurred. For the entire time he'd been holding to her hips with a vice grip. Either he was staking some sort of claim, or trying to keep her up right, in only annoyed Mai more.
An amazingly sharp pain in her hip caused her to lurch back to reality. Out of reaction and sheer suprise (possibly even reflex) Mai stomped her foot down hard on the raised pedistal that she was standing on. Her foot made loud and hard contact with the hand of the old maid. She yowled in pained and stumbled back. "You just stepped on me!" She hissed. Mai simply growled, if the woman was looking for an apology she would have to search else where. "And you've stabbed me going on twenty times. We're even." She snarled. An audible gasp came from both Draco and the old lady. It was starting to set in that perhaps she'd made a mistake. "Out! Get out of my shop!" She insisted, waving her hands at Mai as if she were shooing an owl out the window. A red faced Draco jumped down and scurried over through the sea of isles that she'd stormed down. "Madam Malkin you'll have to forgive her. She has never been taught an manners." He was pissed, very very pissed at her. "Mr. Malfoy this behavior is unexcuseable! I'm a highly respected robe maker and I'll have you know that going out of my way to make an entire personalized wardrobe is difficult enough! I needn't be attacked on top of other stress!" Every word she spoke was louder than the last. Mai watched from afar as she flexed her wrinkled hand and her husband wiggled his way back into her graces like a worm. Money was clearly the most important thing to these people. "Fine. I'll finish the job." She said, counting out the last of the galleons that Draco had slipped her. "But after this I won't be roped into doing anymore for you!" Her hands waved him out of the way and she headed back over to Mai with a scowl. With a bored and almost lifeless look, the younger woman turned her attention back over to the mirror.
He hadn't dressed her poorly but he had taken away just about all means of comfort. Apparently she had needed robes for 'all' occasions and even undergarments! Mai was certain that this thing called a 'bra' was put on her only to torture her. The more the potion wore off, the more antsy Mai got. Five hours. Yes, FIVE! That's how long she'd been subject to play dolly for her new husband and an overly enthused wardrobe maker. It seemed that with every new garment the old woman put on Mai she got happier and more excited. Draco's anger how ever did not disapate at the old woman's had. For the rest of the time since the tiny and accidental altercation he'd sat on a tiny pink stool with his legs crossed and a scowl on his face. Mai was surprised when he said nothing upon leaving the shop. They stood outside the door and had a stare off. He seemed like he couldn't make up his mind over something. Finally he simply sighed and reached up to touch her face. Mai couldn't understand why. She really didn't understand when he pressed his lips to hers. And it was almost laughable her level of confusion when he asked, "Why won't you kiss me back?!" Her poor attitude was increasing by the second. "Why? To make you look more normal?" She bit crossly, trying to pull out of his arms. His gaze was intense now. Hungry even. "We could be normal. If you would try." He mumbled, pressing his lips against her neck and frowning against the skin as he felt her body tense up. "Do not fool yourself into thinking that this will ever be a realtionship outside the boundries of a contract..." She whispered, trying to keep herself together. His hands stopped roaming her body and he practically shoved her back. Mai couldn't help the slight yelp as her body collided with the wood post of the shop door. He looked positivly murderous as he lifted his hand to strike her. There was a tiny bell sound from behind her and a curious Madam Malkin staring at the two of them. "Is something the matter?" She asked cautiously, knowing that she shouldn't prod. Draco glared and grabbed a hold of Mai's hand. "Nothing at all. Thank you for your service." It was disgusting how genuine and kind he sounded. "Oh no problem at all! Any time!" She even smiled at Mai and surprisingly... Mai smiled back. The woman had just saved her from a lot of hell... but people couldn't save her every time and Mai was starting to wonder just when all this luck was going to run out. She would never have imagined how quickly she'd get her answer. Mai tried to surpress a shake as they apperated back home and into the parlor. Draco was still fuming as he leaned to whisper in her ear. "We're having dinner as a family and I'll warn you to be on your best behavior. It's one thing to have to deal with me tonight... it's another to have to deal with my father
