It can't be all smooth sailing now can it? Time for our couple to have their first fight.
"Mwello?" Ginny mumbled sleepily into the phone.
"It's late. You were sleeping. I shouldn't have called." Lucius deep voice filled her ears and sent shivers down her spine.
"No. It's alright." She said, suddenly wide awake. "I was waiting for you to call. I guess I just fell asleep."
"I know. I wanted to be home earlier. But there was a last minute meeting that ran longer then I had anticipated. I've only just now gotten back to the manor."
"I'm glad you called. Did your business go alright?"
"After a fashion. I think we finally have all the problems worked out." She heard him yawn loudly. "Excuse me. I am a bit knackered though. But I didn't want to go to sleep until I'd talked to you. I've missed you."
Ginny blushed and smiled. "I've missed you too."
"What are you doing tomorrow? Are you working?"
"No. I have the day off."
"I have a meeting around 11:00 with my solicitor, but after that I have the whole day free. I thought we could spend it together."
"That sound lovely." She paused for a second. "Lucius?"
"Yes love?"
"Would it be alright if I planned the day?"
He chuckled softly at the shy tone in her voice. "I think I would like that very much."
"Good." Ginny let out a sigh of relief. "Do you have any muggle clothes?"
"I have a few business suits."
"Let me guess." She laughed. "Armani?"
"Naturally. Why?"
He heard her sigh heavily into the phone. "Just dress as casually muggle as you can and wear comfortable walking shoes."
"I'm sure I can manage to come up with something. Where would you like to meet?"
"The Leaky Cauldron? Around noon?"
"I look forward to it." He yawned loudly again.
"Go to sleep Lucius." She laughed. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Good idea. Good night."

Ginny sat at a table outside of the Leaky Caldron, sipping a cup of tea. It was a beautiful crisp fall day, the temperature was prefect, the sky was a clear blue and best of all, there seemed to be no threat of the famous London rain. She had positioned herself so that she would be able to see him walk down the street from his solicitor's office. She was lifting her cup to her lips when he turned the corner and came into view. Her breath caught in her throat and her cup hung in the air, frozen halfway between the table and her lips.
He was dressed all in black, black v-necked jumper, black trousers and shiny black boots. His long blonde hair was loose and moved gently with the soft breeze as he strode purposely towards her. She managed to find her breath and set her cup down just as he reached the table.
"Ginny." He smiled warmly, as he leaned down to kiss her cheek, his finger tips running over the bare skin of her shoulders. She had worn an off the shoulder cream colored jumper and brown suede boots for the afternoon.
He sat down across from her and ran his eyes up and down her body. "I love the sweater and the boots, but you seem to have forgotten something."
She wrinkled her nose and looked down at herself puzzled. "What?"
"Your skirt."
Ginny turned crimson and pulled at the hem of her micro mini, acid washed, denim skirt. "It's meant to be this way. It's the style."
"And thank Merlin for that." He laughed, eying her bare thighs with obvious appreciation.
"Oh you. Would you like a cup of tea before we go?"
"I would love one. What kind?"
"Chai?" She sounded nervous. "Do you like it?"
Lucius eyebrows rose in surprise. "I love Chai tea." He picked up the pot and poured some into his cup. "Seems awfully progressive for old Tom though. I wouldn't think he'd serve it here."
"He doesn't. I brought my own. He did provide a pot of honey and a bit of cream though. Do you need sugar?"
"No." Lucius said, spooning honey into his cup. "This is just how I take it." He took a small sip and returned the cup to his saucer. "This is just one of the things I truly admire about you Ginny." He said, leaning back in his chair to look at her.
"That I travel with my own tea?"
"What? No." He snorted laughter, before continuing. "That you know what you want and you make it happen. That you don't wait, you take."
She took a sip of her tea and shrugged her shoulders in embarrassment.
"Don't shrug your shoulders." He chastised. "You have an absolutely brilliant business sense. You should be proud of that. I was very impressed when you approached me with your offer. It is an incredible business plan. I might even call it flawless."
"Are you just saying that because you want in my knickers?"
"No. The getting into your knickers is just a bonus. So what is on our agenda for today."
"It's a surprise. Finish your tea and we'll be going."
They excited The Leaky Cauldron on the muggle side and begin to walk down the street. Lucius reached down and captured her hand in his. Ginny smiled to herself at the warm feel of his hands in hers.
"This way." She said, when the reached a corner. The continued walking, heading towards the river. "Have you done much sight seeing in London?"
"No I haven't. The majority of my time spent in London is for business purposes; client meetings, surveying properties, business dinners."
"Then I hope you enjoy this." She said, stopping in front of a boat ramp.
"The Thames River tour." He read aloud from the sign, following her to the ticket counter.
"We need two day passes." Ginny told the attendant, reaching into her skirt pocket for her money. She looked up when Lucius grabbed her hand firmly and pulled it away. Reaching into his own pocket, he pulled out a large wad of muggle money."
"But Lucius." She said, trying to push his hand away. "I invited you. I should..."
"No." He said firmly, handing the money to the attendant and taking their tickets. "No." He repeated sternly when she again tried to argue. "Would you like to go all the way to the top? We'll get the best view."
She nodded and turned to slowly climb the stairs to the top of the boat. She paused and turned around to look down at him. "I have my own money you know. I do work."
"I am aware of that Ginny." He stepped closer to her, trying to get her to continue up the stairs.
"Just because I knobbed it up with my credit cards, doesn't mean I can't handle money."
"I wasn't trying to imply that you couldn't handle money. Didn't I just tell you how impressed I am with your business sense/? Can we please drop this and just go to our seats." His eyes pleaded with her.
Ginny huffed and turned around, climbing to the last flight of stairs. "So it's just 'Me Tarzan, you Jane' she muttered. She gasped when he was right behind her, spinning her around to face him. She moved away from him, her back pressing against the railing.
"If that's the way you need to look at it then yes, that's how it is. Call me a chauvinist, call me archaic, call me a caveman. I don't give a fuck." His voice shook with controlled rage. "Everyday I wake up to a world that doesn't make sense to me anymore. Everyday I'm told that everything I was ever taught to believe is wrong. Not just wrong, criminally wrong. And I'm quite sure that's true. But that doesn't change the fact that those thoughts and beliefs have been drilled into my head since I was a child. So everyday I try to adjust and adapt and change my thinking to fit this new world. And even though I'm trying, business contacts that I have known for over 30 years still won't look me in the eye." He took a deep breath and continued. "The only thing I can hold onto from my old life is the fact that I am a man. And as a man, I will pay for things when we go out, I will open doors for you. Get used to it. It is one of the only things left in my life that still makes sense to me. So I am sorry if I have offended you. But I am really trying here. So please, cut me some fucking slack."
Ginny's eyes were wide with fear as he stood over her, breathing heavily, his eyes angry.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, turning quickly, and running up the remaining stairs. She moved down the aisle and selected a seat. It was the middle of a work day and the top of the boat held very few passengers. She didn't think anyone had overheard their heated exchange.
Lucius followed slowly behind her and settled himself into the seat next to her. He cursed himself for having lost his temper, knowing he had frightened her.
Ginny stared out over the Thames as the boat slowly glided past the London sights. His angry words still rang in her head. "A world I don't understand" "Everything I was ever taught to believe in is wrong." She tried to put herself in his position. What if she was being told that she had to hate muggles. That she could no longer be friends with Hermione. What if she learned everything her Mum and Dad had taught her was wrong. She shuddered a little at the thought.
"Are you cold?" He asked softly.
She started to tell him "No. She wasn't." But she nodded her head instead. "Just a bit." As she had predicted, he raised his arm and placed it around her shoulders. His finger tips lightly stroking and caressing the side of her neck.'
"Would you like to get off here and do some exploring? We could go up in the Eye."
"Maybe on the way back." She placed her hand on his thigh, palm up and was happy when he reached down and laced his fingers with hers.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, turning her head to stare up at him. "I acted like a right prat."
"Yes you did." He squeezed her hand gently. "But that did not give me the right to lose my temper. For that I'm very, very sorry."
Still looking up at him, she whispered. "I am so intimidated by you, that sometimes I just don't know how to act. I'm really not usually like this."
"I know." He turned and kissed her gently on the cheek.
Ginny relaxed against him and started to enjoy the trip. She pointed out different historical sites to him and he pointed out different buildings and businesses he either owned or had once owned.
"What is it you do exactly?"
He laughed. "I'm an Entrepreneur."
"I know that." She huffed. "But what do you do?
"I make money." He said simply. "Either by loaning money to or financing new businesses. I am also involved in mergers and acquisitions of failing businesses."
"Draco said you're investors in London are causing you problems."
He nodded his head curtly. "What I do requires a great deal of capital. I get that capital from investors." He sat up and looked around. "See that building over there?"
She nodded.
"I had a great deal of money invested into that building. When my investors all pulled out at the last moment and I was forced to sell it at a significant loss."
"But don't your investors lose money too."
"Quite a bit. But at the moment they seem more willing to lose money then be associated with me. Despite the fact we have enjoyed both profitable and successful ventures over many years. That is why I had to go to Japan. I had to hold an emergency meeting to try and stop my Japanese investors from pulling their funds from a very large, very lucrative business deal."
"Did it work?"
"I think so. Let's get off at the Tower pier and do some exploring, shall we?" He asked, kissing the top of her head.
She nodded her head in agreement.
