Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or the characters of said fandom. I do not profit from my writing, it's simply for my enjoyment. |
A/N: I HATE this chapter. I had such a hard time writing it, thus why it took me so long. I figured I couldn't leave loose ends when it came to Xavia, so I tried to write something that would kind of fix everything up so I could get to the part of the story I'm anxious to write. I am sorry it took so long, but with having major writers block and not actually wanting to write this particular chapter, I've had a hard time just sitting here and forcing myself to write this out. I know this chapter is probably shit and might not make much sense. But, I promise the next chapter when I get back to Ginny will be MUCH better.
If anyone is interested in why I'm having such bad writers block is because things in my life have gone crazy. When I started writing this story I was engaged. That ended badly. I got a job that stressed me out worse then any stress I've ever been through. I had room mate and friend issues. I quit my job and started working a different one and now my daughter and I are sick for the 8th time this year. I'm exhausted and tired all the time cause of the sickness, but now that I'm working this new job I don't have such long hours and have and will be devoting more time to my writing. Maybe, just maybe, I can get this story completed.
I do apologise that this chapter is horribly short, but it's really just a quick chapter to tie up some lose ends. I'm praying the next chapter will be much longer.
Secret Affair: Love and Despair
Chapter 8: All Things Are Possible
Xavia laid on her bed, fully dressed and prepared to greet the morning. Her cheek throbbed painfully reminding her of the events from the day before. Her fingertips cautiously touched the skin. Wyatt had never struck her before. He had never struck a single person in his life. He was always such a kind boy, loving and gentle. Had she really hurt him that bad that he was so desperate to keep her away from him?
A melancholy sigh passed between her parted lips. She had messed up when it came to him and deserved more then just a knock to the head. Months she had lied to him telling him that she loved him when in fact her heart lied with another, as did her body. Hot guilty tears spilt down her cheeks. How could she have let this happen?
She slipped off the bed only to seat herself on the windowsill. With a heavy heart she stared at the grassy fields below. Once she had realized that she didn't love Wyatt she should have said something. The words should have slipped from her mouth, pouring onto him and releasing him from a loveless relationship. Selfish she had been to keep the relationship going, wishing to hold on to the happiness he had given to her.
If she had only broken up with him last year as she had intended to, when she had realized her feelings for him were less then what she believed... He wouldn't be going through this. His heart wouldn't be so badly broken and abused. Her less then noble intentions on keeping their relationship had done nothing more then cause more damage to him. For at the time, she had always found more reasons to stay than to leave.
Had she known that Blaise wanted a relationship, she would have never felt compelled to keep her relationship with Wyatt. Yet, such was the way of things that she had not known. Even knowing this now, she could find that all the blame still fell to her. It was still all her fault everything had happened how it did. It was her after all that allowed things to get this out of hand.
Now, she knew that Blaise wanted her and was willing to go against his own house just to be with her. The knowledge caused her heart to flutter in happiness, deepening her guilt. What happiness would Wyatt have until his heart mended? Would now really be a good time to come out to the school about her relationship with Blaise? Would Wyatt think she was trying to rub it in his face?
Bringing her legs up, she wrapped her arms around them and buried her face in her knees. Did she deserve such happiness after all she had done? A soft sob escaped her lips when the only answer she could come up with was no. After everything that Wyatt had done for her, had helped her with, she had repaid him with lies. All of the wrongs he had done to her in their relationship did not warrant what she had done to him. Yet, the only thing she could regret was not telling the truth and ending her relationship sooner. She could not bring herself to regret anything she had done with Blaise, for her heart truly belonged to him.
The sound of the dorm room door opening startled her from her depressive thoughts. Her glassy silver blue eyes raised connecting with soft chocolate ones. Ginny stood motionless in the doorway with a look of worry on her face. Xavia had missed breakfast and lessons were beginning. It was unlike the studious girl to miss school even when she was ill causing for concern.
“Are you alright,” Ginny asked softly as she approached the crying blonde.
“I'll be fine,” Xavia attempted to smile through her tears.
“Is your cheek bothering you?”
“The pain is manageable.”
“Vi, I know you have been through worse with your old foster families and orphanages, but... you don't have to pretend. We won't think less of you,” Ginny hated the sudden lifeless look that appeared in her eyes, changing the beautiful silver blue to a dull grey.
It wasn't a widely known fact that Xavia had been abused in her years of foster care. Many of the children she had met in her situation had similar tales, but she preferred to keep her's hidden. The summer between second and third year, she had finally gained the nerve to tell Molly and Ginny about her abuse. After receiving their support she told Wyatt, who in turn told his parents. The whole reason the Lavericks' chose to foster her.
Her voice was just as emotionless as her eyes, “it's not my pain I'm concerned with.”
“You can't change what happened,” Ginny sat down in front of her, “you just have to make the best of things. After all, it's only a matter of time before he finds happiness, right?”
“I broke his heart.”
“It would have happened either way.”
“But this way was worse! Far worse!”
Ginny pulled her distraught friend tightly against her chest, cradling her like a child, “after everything that has happened in your life, I think you deserve happiness. All of us can agree that the happiest we have ever seen you was after you and Blaise started seeing each other.”
“I do not deserve happiness,” Xavia shook her head in denial.
“Things will get better. You can't let this guilt eat you like this. This isn't like you. Remember, what happens happens.”
“I have to apologise.”
“Then you will,” Ginny smiled softly.
“Today,” Xavia nodded, “I will speak with him today.”
“Are you sure that would be a good thing?”
“It's what needs to be done... I should also speak with Colin before lunch...”
“I already spoke to him. I told him everything that has been going on between us, Blaise and Draco. He is upset, but he wants us to do what makes us happy. Thou, he feels guilty. He says it's his fault that Wyatt found out this way.”
Xavia frowned, “has he already gone to class?”
“No, he is downstairs in the common room... He is as worried about you as I am.”
The blonde gently untangled herself from Ginny's arms and made her way to the door, as her hand touched the cool doorknob she paused, “the trio... are they still going to keep us apart?”
Ginny appeared behind her, placing a soft hand on her shoulder, “when Harry and Ron finally calmed down they agreed it would be impossible to keep us apart after so long of always being together,” a bright smile appeared on her face, “they even said as long as you and Blaise are in a public place I can be there, but as soon as you two want to be alone, I have to come back here.”
“I'm sorry.”
“Whatever for?”
“Because of me,” her hand on the handle fell limply to her side, “you started seeing Draco. And once again, because of me, you can't even see him.”
Ginny laughed softly and opened the door, “don't worry about me. I'm not upset with you. Besides, I hardly think Wyatt finding out about all of this was your fault.”
“Yeah, but it's my fault we are...”
“Oh stop,” the redhead gently nudged her friend out the door, “everything will work out in the end. Now, go down there and reassure Colin you are okay.”
“But, Gin.”
“No buts! Enough of this guilt induced depression! Today is a good day! The trio aren't going to try and stop me from hanging out with you, they are writing an apology letter to Mum telling her they are sorry about snooping in your business and Blaise loves you and wants to be with you! You have always been the one telling me not to let the bad overshadow the good.”
Xavia gave up trying to argue, she had things she had to do today and all of it needed done before lunch. Steady sure steps guided her down the stairs and into the common room. Colin was the only one there. He was seated on the large couch, facing the fireplace. Xavia noted that his hair had been mused relentlessly, the sandy brown locks sticking up in every direction.
Nervously she lowered herself down onto the plush seat next to him. She bit her lower lip and placed her hands in her lap. All thoughts on what to say eluded her, leaving her completely speechless. She couldn't bring herself to look him in the face, her eyes glued to the small coffee table in front of her.
“I'm sorry,” Colin blurted, rushing to say the words before he lost the nerve.
“What do you have to be sorry for,” Xavia asked in a tone so low he could barely make it out.
“I took that picture. I shouldn't have even tried to blackmail them. But, Dennis... He keeps getting into trouble with the Slytherins and I'm worried about him. I just... I wanted him to have protection and it was the perfect blackmail. If I had known it was you I never would have gone through with it! But, I never... I honestly didn't even think it was possible that you were...”
“Having sex with a Slytherin,” she covered her mouth with a hand, stifling a giggle.
Colin flushed, “I'm sorry, Vi.”
“You were doing what any good brother would, trying to protect his younger brother,” Xavia smiled at him, finally gaining the courage to look into his concerned eyes, “I'm just glad that you aren't mad at me. My biggest fear,” tears built once more, “was losing you.”
“You're my little sister,” he wrapped her up in a loving hug, “while I might not always agree with things you do, I'll always be here for you.”
“I love you, Colin,” she sobbed into his neck, clinging to him for comfort.
“As I love you, Vi,” he kissed the side of her head.
Ginny stood at the foot of the stairs watching her two best friends. It was a heart warming sight. Xavia was finally able to let go of all her pint up fear, to allow herself some peace of mind at least concerning Colin. The happiness of knowing that their small little family was simply becoming stronger rather then breaking even put Ginny's mind at ease.

Xavia sighed, leaning against the wall besides the Charm's classroom. The blonde girl nearly jumped out of her skin when the doors opened and students began to crowd the hallways. It felt like hours before she finally caught sight of the brunette she was looking for. With a surge of courage she didn't feel she moved forward into the fray, chasing after her ex-boyfriend and his group of friends.
“Wyatt,” she called out softly when she got into hearing distance.
He stopped in his tracks, his whole body going tense. His friends turned around, watching her with questioning eyes. She gave them a nervous smile as she came up beside the stiff boy. She had never once sought out Wyatt during class hours. Her education was the most important thing to her and she never did anything to jeopardize it.
“What's going on, Johnston,” one of the boy's said in way of greeting.
“I was just hoping to talk to Wyatt.”
How odd, Wyatt had yet to tell his friends of their breakup. They were still treating her fairly and looking at her no differently then they ever had. Her greeting was one of the usual ones she had always received since she started dating Wyatt. But, why? Why would he hide this from them? He had never been one to keep a secret. So why would he do so now? He couldn't be trying to protect her reputation... could he?
“Guess we will see you later,” one of his other friends grinned.
The group of boys waved and walked off, headed toward their next class; History. Xavia looked up at Wyatt, his eyes were downcast, staring hard at the tiles of the floor. Gently she laid a hand upon his arm, pulling him out of his reprieve. His head snapped up staring straight at her with a look so filled with guilt it brought fresh tears to her eyes. Turning, she lead him down the hall and into an abandoned classroom.
She waited until he seated himself before she began pacing the dust covered isle, “Wyatt, I know that no matter how many times I say it 'sorry' will never be enough. But, nevertheless, I wanted to apologize for everything I have put you through. After everything you did for me, you deserved to know the truth and I didn't give that to you. I was selfish and wrong.”
“Why didn't you tell me,” he whispered miserably, looking everywhere in the room but her.
“Because you made me happy. You made me feel loved and cared for. I actually felt like there was someone in this world other then Colin and Ginny that truly cared about me.”
His voice rose in anger, “if I made you so happy then why did you cheat on me with him?”
Xavia sank down into a chair, “he made me feel things I had never felt before. Pure and raw passion. Ecstasy and pleasure. That was what started it, but what kept it going was him. He took the time to get to know to me, all of me, and at the same time let me know him. He understood what I needed and when I needed it. He never expected anything of me and let me be myself. He makes me happy. Happier then I ever thought possible.”
“If he made you happier, then why didn't you leave me? Why did you let me think everything was fine between us? Why did you lie to me? “
“I... I didn't think Blaise would ever want to sully his reputation with a goody-goody Gryffindor girlfriend. I was selfish. I didn't want to give you up for a relationship that would probably never happen. I was convinced that if Blaise knew I... well... if Blaise knew I wanted...”
“I get it,” Wyatt gritted his teeth, “just finish the sentence.”
“I believed he would leave if he thought I was getting serious. For the last five months I had believed he was also sleeping around with other girls. And I hadn't realized what my feelings were for him. But, I didn't want to risk losing our relationship for something that I believed would never happen and at the same time I didn't want to give up what I had with Blaise.”
Realization flashed in his eyes, “he would though, wouldn't he? He actually wants a Gryffindor for a girlfriend. He actually cares about you.”
Xavia nodded, “yes. He does.”
“I could see it... in the picture. The look on his face. He truly looked happy and the way he held you... it showed just how much he loved and cared for you... I couldn't see your face, but I'm sure, you looked just as happy and in love,” his voice wavered and tears trailed down his cheeks, “I'm sorry. I over reacted. I was so angry, so hurt and you looked at me like you always used to when I was upset. Like you loved me and wanted to comfort me. I didn't mean to punch you... I just... didn't want you to touch me.”
“I do love you,” she moved over to him, kneeling down on the floor between his legs, “and I do want to comfort you, but I know it is my fault that you are even hurting in the first place. I deserve far more then that single punch. I don't blame you for hitting me and I'm not mad at you for any reason so there is no need to apologize.”
“You do not deserve to be hit! I am not apart of your previous families,” he hissed between his teeth, taking a calming breath he continued, “there is nothing that can be done now.”
Silence filled the air for several minutes before she spoke again, “your friends... how come they don't know?”
Wyatt laughed bitterly, “do you think I would tell them? They would laugh in my face and tell me 'I told you so'.”
Xavia reeled back, falling onto her bottom, “what?”
“They warned me when you stopped wanting to have sex that you were finding it somewhere else,” he scowled, “they said that you didn't want it any more because you found someone who could give you better. I told them they were wrong. You would never do that. So really, I should have known. They have been telling me since the start of the school year that you had someone on the side. I just refused to listen.”
“I'm...”
“Don't apologize,” he snapped, “I don't want to hear it! You aren't sorry for seeing him and you are probably already dating him!”
“I'm not sorry for being with Blaise,” Xavia stood, dusting herself off angrily, “I'm sorry that I caused you pain! I am sorry that I hurt you. I never wanted to hurt you and I didn't mean for things to turn out this way!”
“I know, you never mean to hurt anyone. You never speak your mind. You always let us walk all over you and do what we want. If for once you would just push aside our feelings and care about your own sometimes, you wouldn't create such a mess trying to spare everyone's feelings.”
“But you matter to me,” she snapped, “you all are my world! What is my happiness if you can't be happy?”
“I'll admit you broke my heart,” Wyatt sighed, “but, I should have seen it coming when we started spending less and less time together last year. When you stopped telling me you loved me.”
“I should have told you then. There were many times I tried, but I just couldn't get the words out. I couldn't confess my feelings, or lack there of. I honestly made a huge mess of everything,” her eyes stung as tears began to spill, “I'm so sorry. I'm such a horrible person. I'm so selfish.”
He picked her up and pulled her into his lap, “out of all the years I have known you, this was the first time you have ever been selfish. You have always given up everything for everyone around you and never did anything for yourself. It hurts knowing that you found someone who makes you happier then I do. That knows you better then I do. Xavia, I truly do love you and I want you to be happy. But, for right now, I think it's best we stay away from each other. I need time to heal.”
She sobbed, “will you ever come back?”
“Eventually,” his voice was rough from his heartbreak, “but, listen to me. While what you did was wrong, everything will turn out how it's suppose to in the end. Don't dig yourself into a depression over this. I'll be hurting for a long time,” he clutched her hard to his chest, “and I'll probably not be able to look at you with him. But, if you ever really need me. I'm here for you. Always have been, always will be. I just... I don't want you to be sad because of my pain. I want you to be happy.”
“I hope that you find happiness again soon,” she whispered brokenly, “I hope that the pain fades quicker then you believe it will. I don't want to see you hurting.”
“Don't worry about me, okay? Just worry about you. Besides,” he gave a watery chuckle, “Zabini looked really upset this morning when you skipped breakfast.”
“He wants our relationship to be public. I wanted to tell you before hand so that it wouldn't hurt so much when you saw it,” she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, hugging him tight, “I am so sorry. I know there is nothing I can do or say that will fix your heart and that truly wounds my own. I hope one day you can forgive me.”
“A little time goes a long way,” he reassured her, “now we should go. While no one will truly know I missed History, I doubt the same would be said for Potions.”
~~~£~~~
Once more she found herself waiting outside of a classroom. She had been unable to bring herself to go to her last morning class. Lucky for her, missing school today wouldn't cause any trouble, she had permission from Madam Pomfrey to rest for the next few days. This time when the doors opened and the students exited the classroom it didn't startle her. Glares, sneers and heated looks were tossed her way from the Slytherins filing out. The Gryffindors gave her a curious glance, wondering why a sixth year would be standing outside their class.
A head of black hair and one of platinum caught her attention. The boys were lagging behind their fellow students, the last two out of the classroom. A small genuinely happy smile spread across her face at the sight of her boyfriend. How she had longed to use such a word when it came to him. How good it felt to know that they no longer had to hide and sneak around. No more excuses, lies, or fumbled half-truths.
“Blaise,” she called to him.
Several students still within hearing range looked at her in confusion, continuing on their way when they convinced themselves it had been their imagination. It didn't take long for Draco, Blaise and Xavia to be the only three occupying the hallway. The boys approached her. Blaise was tense, his body seeming to radiate fear. Draco was calm, a large smirk stretched across his face.
“I'm sorry I wasn't at breakfast,” Xavia took a step away from the wall, “I thought I'd make it up to you and walk to lunch with you.”
“Why weren't you at breakfast,” Blaise asked calmly.
She sighed, “the truth is I was depressed and couldn't get myself out of my dorm. Ginny had to talk some sense into me. I just... I needed to say sorry... to Colin... and Wyatt.”
His body stiffened further, “when did you speak with Laverick?”
“A little under an hour ago. He skipped History to talk with me. I wanted him to know, about us, before he had to see it. I didn't want to hurt him further. I didn't want to push him further away with him not knowing and getting his heartbroken even more by seeing us together. He... took it well, but he told me to keep my distance from him for now on.”
The smirk on Draco's face widened, “looks like I was right Blaise. She truly did pick you over Laverick.”
Xavia looked between the two, “what do you mean by that?”
“Blaise here thought you changed your mind about being with him and possibly went back to your ex.”
Boldly she stepped up and wrapped her arms around Blaise's shoulders, pressing her small petite body against his large muscled one, “you worry too much.”
He smiled, nuzzling his face into her hair as he placed his hands on her hips, “it's hard not to when everyone reminds me how long you and him have been together and that I'm just a no good Slytherin to most Gryffindors.”
She laughed, “have I ever been like 'Most Gryffindors'?”
“She has you there,” Draco snickered, “I'm going to head down to lunch, I don't feel like starving till dinner.”
Xavia blushed when her stomach decided to rumble, “I guess skipping breakfast wasn't the best idea.”
Blaise entangled his right hand with her left, tugging her along towards the Great Hall, “let's get some food, if there is still time afterwards we can meet up.”
They walked for a few moments in silence before Xavia finally asked the question that had been bothering her, “so how are you dealing with not being able to see Ginny?”
Draco scowled at her, “it's annoying to say the least, but I'm sure,” he continued mockingly, “I'll get through this.”
“I was only asking,” she huffed, “it can't be easy going from seeing her five times a week to not being able to see her at all. I don't even know how I would cope in her shoes to be honest.”
“You wouldn't,” Blaise grinned, “remember the time when Laverick demanded you spend the whole week with him, you still found ways to sneak around it.”
“But I had it easy! Wyatt is Hufflepuff, so he would never know I'm sneaking from the common room. Ginny on the other hand... Harry is Gryffindor and he will spend his time watching over his shoulder to make sure she doesn't do something he disapproves of.”
“Just my luck,” Draco murmured under his breath.
Xavia grinned, “cheer up! Things will blow over in a week or two, maybe a month at most, and everything can go back to the way it was.”
Draco shook his head, “somehow that coming from you isn't as reassuring as it should be.”
She sighed, frowning, “you don't understand.”
“Then help us understand,” Blaise pleaded, “you say your depressed, but last night you seemed as if you were the happiest girl in the school.”
“You guys know what it's like to be alone, to have no one. I didn't even have family,” she whispered pathetically, “there was not a single person in the world that loved me or cared for me. I was alone, truly and utterly alone. When I started coming here I was scared out of my mind. I feared this place. I thought it would be like my orphanage, just on a lot bigger scale. I never thought it would be like this.
“Ginny was the first person to ever speak to me. She didn't seem to mind my closed off nature, or the fact that I barely ever said anything. Colin followed soon after and the two made it their goal to help me regain my voice... To feel comfortable with talking around others. It took longer then they expected, but in the two almost three years it took them to get me out of my shell I found myself loving them as if they were my family.
“Finally for once in my life I had people who loved me, who wanted to be around me and know every secret no matter how horrible or painful they were. They were interested in being a part of my life, for the rest of my life. That, in and of itself, was the greatest thing to ever happen to me, and still is to this day. They taught me how to be myself, how to love and let others love me. They opened my eyes to a world I never thought existed.
“Then I met Wyatt. At first I was hesitant. I didn't want to date anyone, who would want the emotional baggage of someone like me,” she gave a harsh laugh, “but, Ginny convinced me that if it's something I wanted to do to go for it. Wyatt was the third person to ever show any kind of love or affection for me. Soon after the whole Weasley family saw me as a part of their family, even Harry and Hermione thought that way too.
“To go so long without knowing love, without having friends or family and to finally have them was a shock, it was something I had denied myself for so long. Sometimes to this day I still fear that I don't deserve such wonderful people in my life. And knowing I did something that could cause me to lose one or more of them,” her voice wavered, “it hurt me, more then I could ever imagine.
“I don't ever want to lose any of the people that have cared for me, that have shown me true love and compassion. They are all I have had my whole life, they are the very thing that kept me going when I felt I couldn't move forward any more. They are my support and the very foundation for my happiness. Because, they are the only ones... that ever gave me the only thing I ever truly wanted.”
“So you are happy that you are with Blaise, but you are afraid that being in a relationship with him will cost you some of your friendships,” Draco nodded, “it was one of the main reasons Blaise thought you would never pick him.”
“While I don't wish to lose any of my friends, I can't deny my own heart,” Xavia gently squeezed said boy's hand.
“You might not lose any,” Blaise said adamantly, “but, after today we will have a lot of angry house mates on our hands.”
“With Ginny and Colin by my side, and Harry, Ron and Hermione, I think I'll be able to make it through, but what about you two? Even Draco will receive harsh treatment for befriending me,” she glanced nervously at the blonde male.
“I think we have been through worse,” he pointed out, “we will get through it.”
“Don't worry about us,” Blaise grinned, “we will still be feared from all our past doings.”
“Until they start the see the real you and realize you two are just a couple of pushovers,” Xavia snickered.
“Watch it Johnston,” Draco glared harshly at her.
“Well, until you two prove that you are actually good people, Harry will do everything in his power to keep Ginny away from you,” she shrugged, “so your best bet is to drop all acts now, the sooner you do, the sooner Ginny will get her freedom.”
“She does have a valid point. Harry will be suspicious for a while when we suddenly stop being the school bullies, but the sooner he realizes that we are good the better,” Blaise nodded, “for both parties.”
The three bickered a little bit more on the proper method to gaining the Golden Trios trust. Throwing around ideas on which way would work best. Their discussion ended only when the Great Hall doors came into view. Xavia let out a soft squeal of excitement, her stomach hurt from being so empty. Draco rolled his eyes at the overly excited girl as he opened the doors for his friends.
As the couple entered the hall, hand in hand, the silence was deafening. They pretended not to notice. Blaise confidently leaned over and kissed Xavia gently on the lips before walking off to his house table with Draco. The blonde boy waved to the equally blonde girl in parting. A happy smile settled on her lips as she took her customary seat beside Colin. He flashed her a grin, grateful that she had chosen not to skip another meal.
“It's good to see you,” he slug an arm around her shoulder, giving her a one armed hug.
“As it is you,” she leaned into him for a moment.
Ginny spoke up as the blonde began piling her plate with food, “we were worried you would skip lunch too.”
“No, I got everything I needed to get done before lunch,” she grunted.
Their normal conversation seemed to snap everyone from their reprieve. The whole hall erupted with chatter, whispers, and exclaims. Draco and Blaise tuned out their house mates, their prattles about them being traitors were unimpressive. Xavia, Ginny and Colin continued on as if it was just another day, talking to each other like they did ever meal period.
Seamus seemed to have other plans when he suddenly cut in, “bloody hell! That was you in that picture! I remember seein' you with red dyed hair on Valentine's Day!”
“So what of it,” Ginny demanded, “it's not like there isn't plenty of other students that sneak off into unused classrooms.”
“And have sex with the enemy,” Dean raised an eyebrow, his question instantly quieting the whole table.
Xavia swallowed the bite of food in her mouth, “what does it matter who I am with? It is my life and my choice. It doesn't effect you.”
“Like hell it doesn't effect us,” Seamus snapped, “have you ever thought he was just using you?”
“Then let him,” Xavia waived it off.
“You can't be serious,” Neville gasped.
“And why not? It's my body, not yours. What do you care? It's not like I'm going to suddenly turn evil and start kicking others around. Being with Blaise hasn't changed me yet, what is the worry,” she challenged.
Colin cut it, “she has been happy, happier then I have ever seen her. She deserves this happiness for as long as it lasts! Don't try to take this away from her.”
“Even you agree,” Ron asked sharply, “I thought you would feel like we do, that she is making a mistake.”
“I can't say if this is a mistake or not,” Colin shrugged, “but it's her choice, her life.”
“So you are just going to let him use her and then break her heart,” Dean challenged, “is her happiness now worth the pain she is going to feel later?”
“And who says she is going to feel pain,” Blaise drawled appeared behind them.
Xavia turned in her seat smiling up at him. He gave her his genuine smile he used to only reserve for their private times. He held out his hand. She happily placed her's in his, letting him pull her up from the table. He wrapped his free arm around her waist holding her flush against him.
“What are you playing at,” Seamus demanded.
“I'm playing at nothing.”
“There has to be a reason that you are sneaking around with her,” Neville piped up.
“Of course there is a reason, want to hear it,” he raised an eyebrow waiting for their response.
The whole hall quieted waiting for Blaise to give his answer. Many people held their breath, unsure of what kind of response he was going to give. Xavia and Ginny even watched him curiously. Draco rolled his eyes, waiting for the answer he knew his friend was about to give.
“She is a vixen,” he snickered when she smacked his chest a bright blush fanning across her cheeks, “she tricked me into falling in love wit her.”
“I did no such thing,” she giggles, burying her face into his neck, “it was you who tricked me.”
“She has a point, you know,” Draco sauntered up next to them, “after all it was you who convinced her to see you.”
“Who's side are you on any way,” Blaise glared at the blonde boy.
Draco held up his hands in defence, “I'm not on anyone's side here. I'm pointing out the obvious.”
“Doesn't matter how it happened, I fell in love with her, and that is what matters,” Blaise stated firmly.
Ginny couldn't stop the large cheesy smile that spread across her face or the small squeal that slipped from her lips. She was so excited for her friend.
“It's so sweet,” Ginny gushed, “you two are perfect together!”
“Thanks Gin,” Xavia smiled brightly, “before we cause an even bigger scene, let's go find somewhere to eat breakfast, Draco can tag along. I'll see you in class, Ginny, Colin!”
“See ya, Sis,” Colin called out, waving to her.
“So,” Ginny smirked, an impressive recreation of Draco's, “what do you have to say to that, Dean? Seamus? Neville?”
“That's...”
“But...”
“How...”
“Impossible,” Ron whispered, watching the three happily walk from the Great Hall.
“The impossible just become possible,” Colin laughed, “if there are any people in the world that can do that, it's Ginny and Xavia. Their wills are strong enough.”
“You bet they are,” Ginny gave a small victory cry.
