Walking with Draco and Severus into the Witch's Brew felt strange to Harry; the main reason being he had a glamour on which hid who he was. It was nice not to be stared at or whispered about like every other time he'd come to Diagon Alley. He'd never really been to a restaurant before and it was exciting to be there. The closest he'd been to something like this was the Three Broomsticks or the Hog's Head in Hogsmead and those just didn't compare to this place. This was a very fancy restaurant and he was really glad he'd taken Draco's advice on what to wear when he'd gotten dressed. He was wearing another silk shirt, this time a green one that matched his eyes, along with black slacks, but he also had on robes that were black trimmed in green and silver. He wasn't sure what the material the robes were made from, but they were the nicest he'd ever seen or worn. They were soft and silky at the same time and they flowed about him with ease. Smiling, he took a seat at the table and nodded to the lawyer who was already there waiting for them. "Mr. Wells it is good to see you again," he said to him.
Hearing the voice Mr. Wells lifted an eyebrow with some surprise on his face. He'd been wondering how Harry Potter was going to eat out with them considering how society viewed not only the-boy-who-lived, but Professor Snape and the Malfoy family. The glamour was top notch and he doubted anyone would realize who it actually was. "It's good to see you as well Harry," he said with a smile. He nodded to Draco and Severus. "Good day gentleman."
"Mr. Wells," Draco said as he sat down. "I want to thank you for how much you have managed to accomplish in such a short time. I was curious did you have any trouble with getting the emancipation?"
"I too, want to thank you. I have to admit I am curious on that as well," Harry stated. He'd been overjoyed when the letter had come the day before with the information on what the attorney had finalized at that point. The gag orders for magazines and newspapers including The Daily Prophet were in place and the attorney had started the lawsuit for past writings, although Wells had written that the suit would take longer to finish. Wells had also stated that he arranged for him to be fully emancipated so that he was now legally an adult. There had been no details in the letter as to how it all had happened, but it had been delightful to read, especially when he came to the part in the letter about how the DMLE was going to have the Dursley's arrested using their muggle counterparts. Harry wasn't exactly sure how the two worked together, but he had known they did so in the past when Sirius had escaped.
Wells waited for the waiter to give out the menus before answering the questions. "Actually it was simple at least until Dumbledore arrived on the scene. I had waited until almost the end of the business day to try to avoid him interfering and it almost worked too. How he found out, I am not sure; he must have someone in the scheduling area who contacted him. Since this was not considered an issue to constitute going before the whole of the Wizengmont it was handled in another chamber with only five members ruling. I presented the will you had found along with the evidence given to me by Professor Snape to argue that you should not be with the Dursleys. I then presented the fact that you are wealthy in your own right, thus able to support yourself, and as the only remaining member of the Potter name you did need to take up the mantle of Lord Potter. The members had deliberated and were just about to give their decision when Dumbledore arrived and interrupted the proceedings. He attempted to discredit the case by arguing that since you were not there with me that I had to be working for Death Eaters and not you. He was informed that he was out of line and should not have interrupted without knowing all the facts of the case. From what I could see, they ignored his comments since they declared unanimously to emancipate you. The headmaster seemed to lose some of his twinkle and then stormed out of the court room."
"I am sure he was not pleased," Snape stated. "The man does not like to have his plans being opposed or interfered with." Although he said all this emotionlessly, he was thrilled at knowing that one of Dumbledore's plans had been derailed. He gave a half a glance at the menu before setting it down knowing what he would order.
"Yes, well it worked out well since one of the members of the Wizengmont ruling on the case was Amelia Bones," Wells informed them. "As head of the DMLE she was very interested, not only in the files on the Dursleys, but why it was that Headmaster Dumbledore had not realized a student of his was in such a situation. We had a bit of a chat about the things that were discussed in court and she plans to assist us in looking into matters," he said with a conspiratorial grin. "If at a later time we want to fill her in on what we are researching I do believe she will keep it a secret until we are ready to strike against our target. In the mean time, she sent me a message this morning that your aunt and uncle were arrested on charges of child abuse and attempted murder while your cousin is now in foster care. It seems his Aunt Marge did not want to take custody of him."
Harry couldn't help but chuckle. It was all just too good for him not to. He wished he would have been a fly on the wall to be able to see Dumbledore storm out the way he had or to watch when Uncle Vernon or Aunt Petunia had been arrested. It would have been such fun to watch. Let alone the thought of Amelia Bones helping them to nail Dumbeldore. He knew with her on their side they really could do it if they found all the evidence. He looked over at Snape and then Draco to see what they thought. Severus gave the faintest of nods and Draco reached under the table to give his leg a light squeeze. "I believe we should include her and fill her in on what we know, what little there is we can prove that is. The rest I'm afraid is just theories."
"It's a start Harry," Wells told him. "Have you ever pulled on a piece of yarn from a sweater Harry? You've seen how it all unravels. Well that is what will happen with Dumbledore. We've pulled a bit on the yarn and we'll pull more as we find it so that sooner or later he will unravel as well."
"I hope so," Harry said. He glanced over the menu unsure of what to order. He reached up to rub between his eyes due to the headache he had. He knew it was from all the work they had done the day before along with still recovering from his injuries. Yesterday he'd had to check out his magic, which meant he had to start from first year spells and had to attempt each one before going on to the next year. With the power boost he had now, spells worked differently; where before he had to put all of his magic into a spell he now had to hold back on them. Through trial and error, they had discovered that while he could do most spells without a wand or non-verbally, there were only two he could do without either; accio and lumos. He could summon things to himself without really much thought at all and when he made light a small orb appeared in his hand, which he could then send to float anywhere. He looked up surprised as Severus set a pain potion in front of him. He nodded his thanks before taking it and going back to the menu although even with the headache gone he still wasn't sure what to order.
Seeing Harry's uncertainty Draco leaned closer and whispered, "I would recommend the steak with the shrimp if you want to go with something safe, but if you would like to try something different there are several entrees that are quite good here." He had found out the day before that Harry had never been to a restaurant. He'd wanted to find the Dursleys and hex them again. He would have understood if the Dursleys had never gone to one themselves; however, that had not been the case. No, he'd learned Harry had not been included on such outings and the few times they had taken him anywhere had been when they had no other choice. That behavior and treatment he found totally unacceptable.
"I think I'll stick with the steak," Harry said not sure about the others even though they had descriptions beneath the names. He set the menu aside even as the waiter came to take their order to then quickly vanish again once they gave them. "The Goblins sent a letter yesterday asking for a meeting after the reading of the will," Harry informed Wells. "I'm assuming it has to do with the state of my bank account. Will you be able to attend?"
"Of course," Wells stated. "I had actually received a copy of the request and had planned on going to the meeting if you wanted me to be there." After that, the rest of the conversation went to Harry filling Wells in on some of his theories about Dumbledore and the Weasleys.
~~~~~~~~
Stepping into the conference room that the will would be read Harry noticed that they appeared to be the first to arrive. He checked the time and noted they had arrived there with a good ten minutes to spare. He wondered who all would be there at the reading. He figured Dumbledore, more than likely Tonks with her family, and he hoped Remus would be there. He wasn't sure if the Weasleys would be there or not, but he really hoped they wouldn't be. He didn't want to deal with Ron or Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, not to mention Ginny and her crush upon him. He did plan to go and see the twins later that afternoon if there was time. He wanted to check to see where they stood in all this. He really didn't think they were his friend just to spy on him for Dumbledore.
"Good afternoon I am account manager Silva," The goblin said as he came around the desk towards the group that had just come in. "We should be beginning shortly. Lord Malfoy I believe you stated that Lord Potter would be joining you. I do not mean to question however Headmaster Dumbledore sent a note this morning confirming that Lord Potter would not be in attendance since it was too emotional for him." Gringotts of course had been notified when Harry had been emancipated so knew Potter was now to be called by his title even if he had not received the family ring since the ring was held at the bank.
"Now isn't that interesting?" Harry stated to the group while trying not to chuckle as he imagined what Dumbledore would do when he saw him there. He bowed slightly to the goblin, "I apologize account manager Silva for coming in here not as myself, however due to some in our society who cannot respect my privacy I thought it best to hide. If you do not mind me asking when did Dumbledore first state that I would not be coming?"
"Lord Potter it is an honor to meet you," Silva stated surprised that Harry had apologized for most wizards acted as if they were far superior to goblins, thus never needing to apologize to them. "He contacted me right after Lord Black was cleared of all charges requesting information on when the will would be read and stated at that time that you would not be able to come. Our bylaws, however, state we must attempt to contact you. I decided to contact you earlier then the other parties involved hoping that perhaps with more time to prepare you might change your mind. When my letters were returned I sent out the other summons with requests for information about you. I received a response from him about the same time I received Lord Malfoy's letter. Since I had the confusion I wrote back asking him if he was sure of your inability to come, he stated he would check with you and would inform me as soon as possible."
"I see. If you do not mind, I would like to keep my glamour on until after everyone arrives. Perhaps you could ask him when he last spoke to me about the issue? I am curious what he has to say," Harry explained. "If you are uncomfortable with such subterfuge I will of course remove the glamour now."
Silva grinned showing all his teeth. He, along with most of the goblin nation, did not like Dumbledore and he also knew that Dumbledore was in trouble with the owner of the bank and its managers due to the Potter account. It had come to light that the goblin in charge of the Potter account had violated many of the banks policies and Goblin law all at the request of Dumbledore. He also knew that Lord Gringotts planned to see Goblin justice done for Lord Potter and would insure Dumbledore paid the full measure that they could dole out. "Lord Potter I will gladly ask."
"Please call me Harry," he told him grinning to match. He had the feeling that the afternoon was going to prove very interesting.
Silva was now indeed shocked; for never had he had a wizard or witch given him such permission. "Thank you Harry. Please make yourselves comfortable," he said motioning to the chairs that were set about the room. "Once everyone has arrived we shall begin or in fifteen minutes; if they have not arrived by that time then we shall proceed in their absence."
"Harry that is a slytherin tactic, I knew there was a reason I liked you," Draco said softly with a grin. He walked with the others over to the one group of chairs to take a seat; from here, they would be able to see whoever came into the room. "I just might have to save this upcoming session to a pensieve. I suspect that I am going to struggle not to laugh."
"Just remember Draco you do not want to reveal too much to others," Snape stated only to grow quiet as he heard the noise of the Weasley brood arriving. He scowled as he watched the red heads parade in along with Granger, speaking loudly and discussing what they thought Black had left them. It only impressed him again, on how little class they had. He could care less about blood purity or money, but no matter one's status it did not mean one could not have manners. He was not sure why he'd been summoned to the reading. Black and him had never gotten along and he saw no reason for the man to leave him anything, still he was not about to ask others what they thought on the matter.
Ron frowned as he saw the group already there. "What are Malfoy and Snape doing here?" je asked of his family although he doubted they knew. He frowned and scowled as he glared at Draco and Snape. He had no idea who the other man was but he figured it was another death eater since he was sitting with those two. "Sirius wouldn't have left anything to them," he spat out saying the word them as if he were discussing something loathsome.
"Ron I am sure whatever the reason for them being here we shall find out," Fred and George stated together as they came in behind the rest of their family. They sat down a bit apart from everyone else, both deep in thought with concern over Harry since they hadn't heard from their friend since school let out. They had hoped he would be here and they could check on him. They watched as the rest of their family members sat down in the center section of the room. They had learned since moving out of the house just how much their mother had been manipulating different members of the family, but especially their father and Harry. The last straw had been when they had discovered their mother teaching Ginny how to slip love potions to Harry and hearing their mother state that she'd used potions on their father for years to control him.
Silva checked the time just as Dumbledore, Remus and the Tonks family walked in as a group. He motioned for them to have a seat. "Headmaster, I wanted to double check with you about Mr. Potter," he said using the mister instead of Lord just in case Dumbledore was not aware of the man's emancipation status. "When was it you spoke to him last about not coming? Is there any chance he might change his mind?"
"I spoke to him just this morning and I'm sorry to say he was far too upset to come to the reading," Dumbledore stated not wanting anyone to know that he hadn't spoken to Harry about the will. The last thing he needed was Harry finding out he had more money or perhaps owned a Black property; either of which could cause him trouble. He was still trying to figure out how Harry had gotten in touch with an attorney and petitioned for emancipation. Unless of course, as he thought, it wasn't Harry who had done it, but a Death Eater in hopes of getting close to Harry. He had checked his tracer and it showed Harry was still at Privet drive. He had checked with the guards and although they had not seen the boy, he knew that was not uncommon. According to the guards, no one unusual had been to the house however, he couldn't be sure of Mundugus' report. The man was notorious for abandoning his post if he felt like it, but Dumbledore doubted it mattered since the man had only been on duty a few times. After he'd questioned everyone and checked the reports, it had been far too late the night before to go to Privet drive; besides he felt it was a moot point. He knew the Dursleys would keep Harry in a state where he would not be able to come to the will reading. No, he would go eventually, but closer to the time school begins. He would talk with Glander, the goblin he had in charge of the Potter account, and arrange for whatever Sirius had left him to be cut down to a fraction of the amount giving Harry some reassurance, but not enough to make him think he could live on his own.
Harry raised an eyebrow, his wand twitched and he let the glamour fall away. "You know Dumbledore if you are going to lie about me you should make sure where I am before doing so," he stated coldly. He sat there with his hands resting in his lap and his wand at the ready. He glared over at Dumbledore waiting to see what the man had to say for himself. He made an impressive image as he sat there looking very much the lord he was now. He looked very aristocratic and handsome without his glasses and in the expensive clothes that Draco had loaned to him, especially with his hair now much longer from the potion Snape had given him the day before. Instead of the shaggy mess that wouldn't lay correctly it now flowed down to the middle of his back and was tied loosely at the nape of his neck.
"Harry," several voices called out at once as they saw the man sitting there between Draco and Snape.
"Harry, my boy, I thought it best to talk to you later about this. I know how upset you have been since Sirius' death and I did not want to further upset you," Dumbledore stated in his best grandfatherly tone. His mind racing to try to figure out how the boy could be here when his trace had told him he was still at home. His eyes went to Snape and he suspected that the man had betrayed him, but that would have to wait. For now, he'd have to try to get back on Harry's good side and try to figure out how to explain his lie. His eyes twinkled as he looked at Harry once more. "I had planned to come over this evening to discuss the reading with you."
"Harry what are you doing sitting there with Malfoy?" Ron asked loudly with disgust in his voice. He glared at Draco, hate shining in his eyes. "He's a bloody Death Eater. Have you forgotten what all he's done over the years?"
"Harry what is going on with you?" Hermione asked him. She couldn't believe after all Malfoy had done to them over the years Harry would seem so comfortable sitting with him. He should have been over there with them. Of course, she had wanted to distance herself from the-boy-that-lived, but Dumbledore had pointed out that if she stopped spying so did her financing for her education.
Ginny looked longingly at Harry. "Oh Harry I've been so worried about you," she said. She still loved him with all her being even though she'd dated other boys at school. She'd only dated them to try to make him jealous. She had every intention of being his wife, no matter what. Her mother had promised her that it would happen in time and that she just had to be patient. She couldn't believe how good he looked. She couldn't wait to be on his arm and for everyone to be looking at them. Soon she would be Mrs. Ginerva Potter and she would be the one sitting next to him not that blonde ferret.
Remus was very confused as he looked over at Harry. Voices were overlapping and he was trying to sort them out. He couldn't believe Dumbledore had lied to them all this way nor could he think of a reason for him doing so. He could also not figure out why Harry was with Malfoy and Snape. Nothing was adding up right, but he was not going to ask Dumbledore on it. He would talk with Harry, but before he could get a chance to ask Silva was speaking.
"Quiet," Silva stated to everyone and once the voices had stopped, he nodded once. "We are here for the reading of the late Lord Sirius Orion Black will; other matters shall have to wait until later. Headmaster Dumbledore your presence is requested by Lord Gringotts for after the reading." He did not wait for Dumbledore to say anything, but continued on. "Everyone who was asked to attend is now in attendance except for Narcissa Black Malfoy who is currently in Azkaban. Lord Black not only gave us a written version, but a voice recording of the will." He lifted his hand to tap an orb sitting on his desk and Sirius' voice could be heard.
"I, Sirius Orion Black, being of sound body and mind affirm this is my last will and testament. All right now that I have that part taken care of, I first want to say to those of you here I don't want anyone to feel sad about me going. I am sure I went out fighting; just the way I would want to. I have very few regrets in life so do not worry about me. Now to start things off, to Remus Lupin I leave fifty million galleons. Remus I know you don't want the money, but let me give it to you. You have been like a brother to me and I want to give you this freedom. Please take the money and use it for yourself so you can make your life what you want it to be. Along with this, I had the Goblins check; you have no debts upon you Remus of any kind. Any debts you might have owed from your teenage years you have since repaid. Do not let him or anyone else tell you differently. I also leave to you a letter that the goblins will give to you. Use the information it contains well," Sirius voice stopped as Silva touched the orb. He held out a sealed envelope and a key waiting for Remus to come up.
Remus' eyes were red with unshed tears as he got up and went to the desk. He took the letter and key in hand. "Thank you," he said softly before going back to sit down. He looked over at Dumbledore glaring at him. The man had told him he still owed him for letting him go to Hogwarts; that he had owed him a debt for each year. Then when Dumbledore had found out Remus would have done anything to help Harry the man had tried to say that the debts weren't cleared at all since he was doing everything for Harry and not for the debt. It seemed Dumbledore had been lying to him all along. His fist tightened around the letter and he looked down at it. He wanted to read it, but he decided to wait until after the formalities were done.
"Well I suppose I shall go to my fellow pranksters next; to Fred and George Weasley I leave you each five hundred thousand galleons plus an additional five hundred thousand for your business. This world needs some humor in it and you two are the ones to provide it now. I just have one word of advice a joke or prank should never, ever cause harm. I believe it is a lesson you two already know; I only wish I had learned it as early in life." Again, the voice stopped as Silva paused it to hold out the keys to the twins.
"Thank you," the twins said as they each took their keys and sat back down this time though they sat down closer to Harry and even further from their family. They were a bit stunned by the amount of money for they had never expected such from anyone.
"Speaking on such a lesson to Severus Snape I first offer you something I should have given you many years ago; my apologies. Although I doubt we shall ever see eye to eye on many subjects I think we can both agree I was a right git to you when we were in school and I continued to be one even years later. I should have let go of the past. This will never make up for what I did, but I do leave you a selection of rare potion ingredients I was able to gather during my travels."
Snape sat there not realizing the voice had stopped and that Silva was holding out his key. The last thing he had ever expected was for Black to apologize. He blinked several times thinking perhaps he had heard wrong, but he knew he hadn't. A throat clearing brought him out of his thoughts. He rose and took the offered key. He nodded to Silva and sat back down unable to speak at this time due to his emotions being too close to the surface.
Silva touched the orb again for the reading to continue. "Well let's see if I can't shake some things up some more after making Severus speechless for a change. Andromeda, Theodore, and Nymphadora I welcome you back into the Black family, may my mother roll over in her grave," he voice said with a chuckle. "This will re-instate the standard Black family allowances for you dear cousin and for your daughter along with setting up a dowry for her; additionally I give you the Black residence located in Primrose Hill and fifty million galleons."
Andromeda was sniffing and wiping her eyes as she stood up to take the key and papers that Silva held out to her. She had never hoped to be brought back into the family let alone have so much given to her. "Thank you," She managed to get out before sitting down once more. She leaned against her husband grateful for his arm about her as she tried not to break down.
Tonks knew her mother had gotten everything from the goblin so hadn't gotten up. She couldn't believe they had been welcomed back that way. She was used to not being part of the family, but she knew how much it had still hurt her mother to be ostracized like that. "Dowry?" she whispered only to have her mother shush her. She was curious on the allowance, but what did she need a dowry for? She didn't need to pay a man to marry her after all. It wasn't as if this was the seventeen hundreds anymore and she wasn't going into any arranged marriage.
Silva nodded and then let the will continue. "Now to my other cousin Narcissa I offer you the chance for freedom. If you do not want to follow your husband any longer then I shall declare your marriage null and void since he broke your wedding contract on several occasions. If you take this chance I will give you a house and an allowance, but if you do not then I shall give you nothing."
Silva stopped the reading and looked at those present, "This was sent to Mrs. Malfoy in Azkaban, however she refused to have her marriage nullified." He then tapped the stone twice, which set it to the option of her not accepting.
"Well I did not think you would take it but I had to offer; that does not mean I shall not offer the same chance to your son. Draco if you no longer wish to follow your parents and need asylum from them say so now." Silva stopped the voice and looked at Draco.
"I am free of my parents so I believe it is a moot point," Draco stated, "however, if they were still free then yes I would take the chance he offered."
Silva nodded and tapped the stone once. "It's good to hear that you made this choice Draco and that you do not blindly follow your parents' footsteps. I know that is not an easy path to walk upon. I give you in trust fifty million galleons in which you will get an allowance from until you are seventeen and the Black residence in Godric's Hollow. The goblins will assist you in becoming emancipated or if need be a guardian for you."
Draco shook his head surprised by what Sirius had offered. He'd never met the man and he'd tried to help him. He stood up and took the offered key and papers from Silva. "Thank you." As he sat down, he saw Ron and Hermione glaring at him. He was curious if Sirius had given him so much what he had given to the children he thought were friends to his godson.
"Harry, I wish I had been there for you earlier; I should have escaped and helped you far sooner. It is one of the regrets that will always be with me. I have arranged with the Goblins for them to get you emancipated and if not then to have Remus to be your guardian, either way you will be rid of that family of yours. Don't let anyone tell you that you have to stay with them. I'm leaving you the Black retreat, which is in the United States somewhere, I don't remember where, but the Goblins do and have all the necessary documentation, a copy of the Black Library and seventy-five million galleons in which you will get an allowance from until you are seventeen. I also leave with you a letter that I hope explains some of the rest that is said here today."
Harry too was fighting not to cry as he stood up. He could care less for the money, but would have been grateful for the assistance to get free of the Dursleys. He wondered if this was the reason why Dumbledore had not wanted him to be there or if there had been another reason for it. He took the offered key and papers from Silva. "Thank you. Just wish he was here instead," he said softly before sitting back down.
Silva nodded knowing the depth of the emotions coming from some of the members there. He tapped the stone letting the will continue. "Well now then let's see who we have left here; ahh yes Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. When I first met you, I had thought you were wonderful and supportive friends for Harry like James and Remus had been for me. I am relieved to have found out the truth before I wrote this will. I was shocked and dismayed to find out how little you actually care about Harry. I have a few words of advice; look up and learn the definition of being a friend. It does not include betrayal or spying upon said friend for another. You did both for the worst reason ever, profit," Sirius voice spat out. "Therefore instead of receiving the same amount as the twins I leave you each one thousand galleons since you did help Harry at times even if it was for ulterior motives."
There were several gasps as this part was announced. Ron had an angry look on his face as he stood up. "I get a lousy thousand and the ferret gets fifty million? Fred and George get five hundred thousand and I get a thousand? Where the bloody hell does Sirius get off doing that? I did more than help." He was really irate. He'd been expecting a lot more than that after hearing what the twins and then Malfoy had been getting. Everyone knew he was Harry's best friend after all, not that bloody ferret. He was the one who had put his life on the line not the twins. He earned that damned money and he wanted it.
Hermione couldn't believe what Sirius had done and said. She glanced over at Harry who didn't seem at all surprised by the man's revelations. She walked over to take the key and then sit back down without saying anything. She felt bad in some ways for doing Dumbledore's orders, but she'd needed the money. Her family had refused to pay for Hogwarts. It had been the only way she'd get her magical education.
"The will is valid. Do you not want what was given?" Silva asked snidely. He hated how humans would argue about such items at times when it was not seemly. He watched as Ron stomped up and snatched the key before sitting back down. He nodded and tapped the stone once more.
"Well, let us continue on shall we? To Molly and Arthur Weasley I leave you ten thousand galleons for the way you did help Harry even though you had your own agendas. Molly I found the submitted contract and I want you to know that I had it nullified. Dumbledore had no legal standing to make it in the first place. I also leave your daughter Ginerva one thousand galleons and the advice to look for love elsewhere for after talking with Harry I know he does not see you in such a manner."
"What contract?" Arthur asked looking over at his wife. He had known Ron and Molly had both informed Dumbledore of anything Harry said or did and he knew he should have said something, but he had not seen any harm in it. Now though he was wondering and thinking perhaps he should have put his foot down. What all had they been doing that he hadn't been aware of?
"Not now Arthur, it doesn't matter," Molly said standing up to take the keys for not only herself but also her daughter. She glared at Dumbledore angry that the contract had been nullified. It had all been arranged that Ginny and Harry would marry. They would get access to the Potter wealth via Ginny. She was so tired of being poor and not able to buy everything she should be able to or to have the prestige she should have. She had to marry the younger brother who had no money or title; at least his brother had the title of Lord Weasley; of course the fact that her brother-in-law was thirty years older than her and married was beside the point. She could have done better then Arthur, but she'd foolishly let herself get with child and had to marry him only to then find out that contraceptive charms did not work on Arthur. She soon became stuck with a brood of children she had never planned on.
"It was a marriage contract between Harry Potter and Ginerva Weasley," Silva explained.
"What?" Arthur glared at his wife. "I cannot believe you did that." He got up and walked away from his wife to sit over near the twins. He knew exactly why she'd attempted to do it and although he had known she was upset at them never having much money he had not thought she'd go that far. He leaned forward to speak to Harry. "Harry I am sorry. I hope you will speak to me after this."
Harry nodded to Arthur before glaring over at Molly and Ginny. Ginny was now crying; he knew it didn't have to do with Sirius, but the breaking of the contract. He couldn't believe they'd been able to make a contract to begin with or think he'd have agreed to it. He crossed his arms and sat stiffly as the reading continued, although he saw only Dumbledore left.
"Albus Dumbledore I leave you this sack of lemon drops may you choke on everyone of them. We both know what you have done. I also state that from this day forward the Order of the Phoenix may not use any of the Black properties again and you personally are forbidden from stepping foot within any of the Black properties."
Dumbledore managed to hide his emotions, although his eyes had lost their twinkle. He had not expected any of this. He knew he had lost Harry for now and by the looks of it several members of the order. He would have to do a great deal of damage control after this was all done. He stood up and took the sack offered. He sat back down and tried to give the impression that he was not angered by any of this.
"Now all that is left is the bulk of the estate and the title of Lord Black. I leave all of which to my son, Arcturus Alphard Black, also known as Alexander Levelle Harris. At this point, I was not able to contact you, but I was able to find where you were last.
