It was the August before Lidia’s sixth year and it found her back at home with her mother, father and annoying siblings. Newly nine year old Levi was a brave and yet overly active little brother with a hero-complex that was always looking for a damsel in distress, then when he found none he would make one. At age five (almost six as she kept reminding everyone) Gabriella was a giant bookworm, she would read anything, write about everything and also liked to do finger paints and watercolors. Lidia had spent the first part of her summer waiting for her OWL marks and spending time with her boyfriend of almost four years, Kale. Finally, she got her results and after seeing what she assumed she would get (all her OWL’s) she and Kale had celebrated. She now stood in front of her mirror looking at her expression while Delilah sat on her bed giving her a knowing look.
“Aren’t I supposed to be glowing or something?” Lidia asked.
“That only happens when a woman is pregnant” Delilah rolled her eyes “When you lose your virginity you just...feel different, on the inside. You feel like more of a woman, like you can do anything, be sexy and in charge. Do you feel like that?”
“Kind of” Lidia answered, sitting down with a wince on the bed.
“How was it?” Delilah had really become her best friend and was the only female she felt comfortable talking to, other than her Aunt Sif.
“It hurt” She answered “I mean...I knew from all the talks I’ve had with my mother and the sex talks in school and all the stuff you and the other girls have told me and said about sex that it wasn’t a really comfortable experience the first time but...that really hurt!” She lowered her eyes and blushed “And I accidently set fire to a tree”
“It does hurt...wait...a tree?” She gave her a surprised look “Where the bloody hell did you lose your virginity?!”
“Well I couldn’t very well have sex in the house now could I?” Lidia asked “So we snuck out last night, brought a couple of blankets, went in to the woods and talked and looked at the stars and then...you know” She blushed.
“So...how or why did you set a tree on fire?” Her friend asked.
“I didn’t plan it or anything” Lidia said “I was shocked by the pain and my magic went a little crazy and I caught the tree on fire. I put it out but it happened, after that it he gave me time to get used to the feeling and then...it happened and yeah. I don’t know what you want me to say about it”
“Was it good?” Delilah asked, exasperated.
“Yes” She answered “I mean it was painful but it got better, I really don’t understand what everyone is going on about it being the best experience in the world but it was good. Why are you laughing?”
“Because” The other girl laughed harder “You didn’t have an orgasm. It couldn’t have been that good or else you wouldn’t be able to shut up about it”
“Does that mean he’s done it wrong?” Lidia asked.
“Not wrong” Delilah told her “It’s just he doesn’t have his own experience, give it time”
“Fine” Lidia rolled her eyes.
“Okay, I’ve got to go” Her friend said with a smile “I have a date”
“Good luck” Lidia said and watched her leave.
Lidia stood in front of the mirror against and wondered for a while if her parents would figure it out. Her father she was sure already had the general idea, he had found her birth control potion last week. He had been too freaked out to say anything about it though, thank merlin because that would have been rather embarrassing but at least he hadn’t freaked out. Her mother was a different story, in her second year when her father left her mother during her Christmas holiday he had remained away from her for another month or so before he came home. They had many talks about what would happen when Lidia came home and when that summer came it was hard but they managed to get along. They fought a little over what classes Lidia should take but they came to an agreement and as long as Lidia did the best she could in every class she took and every year she attended Hermione would leave her alone. They even managed a relationship of sorts, they shopped together, talked about classes and shared a few jokes together. Hermione taught Lidia how to cook, the healthy foods she should eat and what she should try to avoid unless it was after a break up or during a menstrual cycle. Before her third year Loki had given her an owl that she named Phoenix that she loved so much but he got sick and died only eight months after she had gotten him. That summer her mother gave her an orange cat that she named Ember, he was the most perfect cat anyone could ask for. That helped make some more things easier between the two as they now shared a common interest, felines.
“Lidia” Hermione said from the doorway “Are you excited about this upcoming year?”
“Yeah” Lidia said “I’m going to study hard as usual but I am going to take this year to focus more on things for college, you know tutoring the younger students, helping out in town things like that”
“Are you still considering France?” Hermione asked delicately “I was thinking about taking some classes there myself now that Gabby is in school”
“That’s great” Lidia offered “I am going to put in an application there but I have a few different places that I want to check out”
“Like where?” Hermione asked.
“Russia” Lidia answered “They have a decent Law program, Germany has a great Potions program and Italy has a great Charms area. However, America offers an amazing Law and business program with and wonderful potions lab with good professors”
“What is it that you are interested in?” Her mother asked.
“I think I want to learn about running a company in the magical world” Lidia said “I want to be a leader and maybe even become Minister of Magic at some point”
“Of course you do” Hermione chuckled “You are just like your father, well good luck then”
“Thank you” Lidia said with a grin.
Loki was standing in the kitchen watching as his son made dinner. Tonight they would have taco salad with Spanish rice it was an easy meal but made it possible for Levi to make. He loved helping him cook, it was really one of the only things they had in common because even though Thor could do almost anything he couldn’t cook and Loki could so for once his son came to him for lessons in something. Hermione walked in to the kitchen with an amused sort of look on her face and sat down at the table pouring herself some tea from the pot he made earlier. She looked at him and smiled before standing up and wrapping her arms around his waist and kissing his neck.
“I love you” She whispered.
“I love you too” He answered.
“I was just up talking to your daughter” Hermione said.
“My daughter?” Loki asked “When did she stop being our daughter?”
“When I realized that she is just the female you” Hermione answered “She wants to take college courses on how to run the world”
“That’s my girl” Loki laughed.
“Talking about me?” Lidia walked in.
“Where were you last night?” Gabby asked from where she was sitting “I had a nightmare and you weren’t in bed”
“Where were you?” Hermione asked and Loki raised his brows at her.
“I went for a walk” Lidia said.
“Alone?” Loki asked.
“I was with Kale” She answered.
“Levi” Hermione said keeping her eyes trained on Lidia and Loki “Gabby, why don’t you two go and wash up for dinner”
“Okay” They said in unison and walked away.
“Lidia” Hermione said “Your father told me that while he was cleaning the family towels out of your bathroom the other day and found a birth control potion”
“Okay” Lidia all but whispered.
“Is there something that you wish to tell us?” Hermione asked.
“I’m sixteen” Lidia pointed out “Kale and I talked about it in May and we decided that if I got all the OWL’s that I took then we would celebrate by...losing our virginity to one another”
“In case you didn’t realize by finding the potion” Lidia said “I am being safe, there’s a lot I want to do with my life and I don’t want a baby right now. I purchased a sixth month supply and have been taking it every month as instructed since May”
“There is no way I can be pregnant” Lidia told them “Please, don’t be mad at me”
“We’re not...” Loki started.
“The hell we’re not!” Hermione snapped “Lidia, all I have ever asked is that you be responsible and here you are giving yourself away!”
“Hermione!” Loki hissed “She is being responsible and that is all we can actually ask for. Lidia please continue to be responsible like you’ve been so far and tell us if you need anything”
“I will” She promised and before Hermione could say anything the younger kids came back in time for dinner.

Kale and Lidia were walking around their pond, their hands were entwined and they weren’t really speaking about anything in particular. They had been together for almost a full four years which was longer than anyone else in the entire school, they knew better than anyone else knew them, even their parents. Severus kept telling them that he was expecting them to get married and have children and though Kale told her that he wanted a good house-wife Lidia knew that she wasn’t interested in that kind of lifestyle, at least not right then.
“So” Kale said “Your mother Floo’d my mother and told her about the fact that we had sex”
“I know” Lidia sighed “I’m sorry”
“It’s not a problem” He told her “I just want you to know that if anything was to happen and you got pregnant I would marry you and we could have a family”
“I know” She said again “Thank you, but I am being careful. Plus, you have college next year and I have my seventh year. I’m going to try to become Head Girl, you know”
“I’m Head Boy this year” He reminded her “So no sneaking out after hours young lady or I may have to spank you!”
“Promises, promises” She sang out as they came to her front door, she stopped and looked at the front door “I have to clean up the attic, told my mum that I would while she was gone”
“Okay” He said “I won’t push my luck right now”
After they kissed goodbye Kale apperated away and Lidia made her way up to the attic. She set to dusting and organizing everything that she found, there was so much that she remembered from her past in there. Like the first picture of her and her father, her beating up Thor, her old camp brochure and a picture of the first time she set her father on fire. She was laughing over that picture when she heard someone calling out to her, she listened closer and followed the voice to the far end of the attic and started to move stuff back.
“Bloody hell” She heard, finally she pulled away the last thing and found herself looking at a picture she kind of remembered.
“Who are you?” She whispered.
“Severus...” He started.
“Snape” She finished “Oh sir, I haven’t seen you in years...well...I mean I’ve seen your picture at the school but you’re never in it”
“Who are you?” He asked, looking confused “Have I been sold?”
“No, sir” She answered “My mother had this painted years ago, I thought you were gone though”
“Lidia?” He asked in horror.
“Yes” She said excitedly “What are you doing up here?”
“I pissed your mother off ages ago” He said “She put me up here and forgot about me then”
“Well” Lidia said as she stood and headed down the stairs “You will just come to my room with me”
