Christmas eve, this night had always been a favorite to Lidia because it seemed to romantic. Hermione had brought up the tradition of opening one present the night before and then when they thought that everyone was sleeping, Loki and Hermione would dance in the living room before the roaring fire. It was their love story that Lidia wanted for herself, it was something that she had always wanted to experience. Someone to love her so completely that he would fight for her against anything and everything just to be with her, to tell her he loved her. Lidia stood in the window of the attic watching the snow fall silently outside, covering the world in a fresh white blanket.
“What are you watching?” Remus asked coming up behind her and kissing the side of her neck
“I was watching the snow fall” She answered “Thinking about how beautiful it is” She turned to look at him and smiled because he was now watching her.
“Funny” He said “I was thinking about how beautiful you are. You find beauty outside of the house and all around you but I find beauty only in you” Lidia smiled and kissed him which of course turned in to a snog-fest that ended with her on the bed and him between her legs.
“Not here” She said “Once we get back to school then we can but not right over my fathers head”
“Understood” He sighed and leaned on his side and looked back down at his body and groaned “Sure you don’t want to help?”
“Sorry” She smiled.
“Okay” He said and looked out the window and then smiled “Wanna build a snowman?”
“It’s after midnight” She pointed out.
“Are you afraid of the dark?” He asked “I won’t let anything get you”
“Let’s go” She smiled.
They dressed quickly and warmly and Lidia led the way down the back stairs in to the kitchen ignoring the sounds of soft music coming from the living room where her parents were dancing. They slid outside and ran through the deep snow in to the front yard laughing as they threw snow at each other. He ran over and picked her up kissing her deeply before falling backwards in to the snow bringing her with him. She sat on him and kissed him deeply before pulling back and sitting up smiling at him, she pushed her hair back with one hand before looking up. The sky, though spitting out millions upon millions of snowflakes, was clear light blue with wispy clouds and overfull with bright shiny little stars. She looked at him and her eyes filled with tears of happiness as she realized that in five years on Christmas Eve they would be doing this lying or sitting in the snow, going to build a snowman and completely in love. Like her parents danced every Christmas Eve they would play outside like children.
“I’m going to marry you” Remus surprised her by saying “I’m going to make you my wife”
“Really?” She arched an eyebrow “Like I’d fall for you...old man”
“That” He said “Was a low blow”
“I know” Lidia pouted “I think I need a spanking”
“Hmm” He moaned to himself “As fun as that sounds...and it does...we need to get to work on that snowman”
They stood and found perfect snow that would be great for a snowman and they made their perfect snowman. It took almost an hour and by the time they were sneaking back in to the house the music had been shut off but the fire was still roaring in the grate. Sitting on the couch Lidia cuddled in to his side and watched the shadows on the walls as he held her close. Finally, he yawned and laid down pulling her on to his chest and kissing her forehead before they both fell asleep. Neither of them were awake to see Loki sneak down the stairs and cover them with a blanket brought from her old bedroom.

“Are you and Remus going to have a baby?” Lidia heard as she opened her eyes and saw her sister standing before her with wide curious eyes and she heard Remus give a soft snort in her ear.
“No, Gabby” Lidia wiped her eyes with her palm “Why would you think that”
“Because Lanni told me that she lays on her stomach because it’s more comfortable for the baby” Gabby said and motioned to Lidia who was lying on her stomach on top of Remus.
“I assure you Gabby” Lidia said as she readjusted her body on top of his “I am not going to have a baby”
“Oh” She looked sad “I wanted a baby in the house”
“Ask mom and dad” Lidia said “Because Remus and I will not be having a baby until after college”
“But you are going to have babies, right?” Gabby asked.
“Sure” Lidia said “Someday”
“MUMMY!” Gabby ran off in to the kitchen “Lidia and Remus are going to have babies someday!” They could hear laughter coming from Natasha who apparently was a morning person...when Severus was around that is “I’m going to be an aunty”
“Bet you anything Loki comes in and drags me outside by my throat for knocking up his little girl” Remus whispered making Lidia laugh.
“I bet they will have babies” Hermione said “Lots and lots of babies, just not right now because they are in school and are too busy for a baby right now”
“Which is what I told her” Lidia said standing in the doorway with Remus behind her, she looked around the table “Where’s Scorpius and Lanni?”
“Draco invited them to spend the holiday with them” Hermione smiled “He also wanted me to give you these” She handed Lidia three envelopes and smiled, Lidia took them and sat down at the table opening the first one.
Dear Miss. Granger,
I wanted to send this letter of thanks to you for what you said to my father. Since your visit a short while ago he has been eating and though he doesn’t converse with anyone he is looking better already. The Healers told me that due to his PTSD there will be many ups and downs for him and if we (my wife and I) come across something that seems to bring out the ‘ups’ in him that we should allow him unlimited access to it. I am not trying to say that you are an object of any sort but I would be okay with it if you wanted to visit him. I would like it actually, you made him happy if only for a few minutes and that something for so long I thought was impossible. He has enclosed a letter to you and I don’t know what it says but thank you for giving him something to think about and look forward to.

Lidia smiled and opened the second letter when turned out to be a formal invitation to the Malfoy New Years Eve ball that they had every year. It was something that everyone knew about but almost no one got in to, not even her parents got invited to. Only the most important people got invited to this ball, it was like being personally invited to live in the Minister of Magic’s house for a year...it’s something that everyone strived for but very few actually got to do. She had an invitation for her and one other person, she knew that she would bring Remus of course because showing up with anyone else would be out of the question.
“What’s that?” Hermione asked motioning to the invitation that was clutched tightly in her hand and making her smile widely.
“An invitation to the Malfoy New Years Eve ball” Lidia grinned “Mr. Malfoy invited me and one other person”
“And who were going to bring?” Remus asked with a flirty grin as if he didn’t already know.
“I was thinking about asking Kale, what do you think?” She asked.
“I think he wouldn’t live long enough to see that night” Remus said sweetly as she leaned in and kissed him before turning back to her other letter.
Dear Miss. Granger,
This letter will be short as I don’t know you well enough to have much of a conversation with you. However, I am told that you have a boyfriend that you will likely bring to the ball so asking you to accompany me would be out of the question but an old man can dream, can’t he?. I was hoping that you would at least keep one dance free for me if that suits you alright.

Lidia bit her lip and smiled while shaking her head, that man was probably quite the skirt chaser in his day and if he looked anything like Mr. Malfoy or Scorpius he probably got in to the skirts easily as well. She penned a single “I’ll think about it” to Lucius Malfoy and a thank you to Draco Malfoy and then went on with her Christmas as usual.

A/N: Okay. So I didn’t think about it but Draco did know Lidia however he never really saw her much after the camp because of her family life then on to an all-witches school and in Hogwarts there was always a rivalry between his son and her. So he honestly hadn’t spoken to her or really even seen her for long periods of time, now the camp was closed down due to his fathers release from prison and Draco’s having to take care of it. But that doesn’t mean his good work is finished, there is more to Draco than one might think.
