She couldn’t believe him! Reading does NOT mean you are boring. How many times has her reading save them from doom? Too many to count. Oh the nerve of that boy!
Hermione fumed as they finished the rest of their shopping. They decided to get it done early so that when Harry arrived at Grimauld, they could spend time together and help him get his things. She knew he was not happy at his relatives and that they treated him like crap. She even asked Dumbledore if he could live with her instead, but Dumbledore gave the same speech about blood protection. It infuriated Hermione that nobody was trying to help him! She was so lost in her thought that she didn’t even notice when they arrived back at Grimauld Place.
“You ok Mione?” Ron asked as he walked towards the kitchen.
“I’m good. Just thinking about Harry,” She could hear Ron grunt in anger at the mention of Harry.
He was still angry at him. Even though he was proven innocent about putting his name in the Goblet, Ron still wouldn’t admit he was wrong for what he did. Everyone had tried to talk him into writing Harry a letter, but he refused to write him. Hermione sighed. There were days when she wondered why Ron was friends with her and Harry. As she was putting her school supplies in her trunk, a brown owl tapped on her window. She went to it and waited to retrieve the letter until it was settle on the back of her chair.
“Thank you. Here.” She handed the owl a piece of biscuit before she sat down on her bed. She looked up and the owl was waiting for her.
“I’ll be quick about getting you a reply. You can eat more biscuit if you like.”
The owl hooted and began preening one of its wings.
Dear Hermione,
I received your letter today. Things have been going better than ever this summer. I don’t want to explain in a letter just in case it falls into the wrong hands. It was good to see you today at the books store even though you didn’t recognize me. I want to invite you, just you, to dinner at the Leaky Cauldron. I need to explain some things to you and get your help if you will lend it afterwards. I don’t want Ron to know what is going on. I fear that he and I will be falling out as friends for good once word of what I am planning gets out. Please send a response on that dinner invite. I hope to see you soon.
Harry
‘When did he see me at the book store?’ Hermione sat stunned trying to figure things out. She wrote back with a date and time she could meet for dinner and sent it off with the owl.
“Dinner time!” Molly called up the stairs.
Hermione made her way to dinner, her mind whirling with all the possibilities of what could be going on.
“Harry agreed to be a silent partner for our shop.” She heard George say as she walked through the kitchen door.
“Oh really? What will he be doing?” She asked as she grabbed a plate.
“He will be signing off on all our pranks. Since he is the reason we are able to afford a shop he should have some say in what goes in it.” Fred replied as he passed her a basket of rolls.
“Oh how lovely! Maybe he can keep you under some sort of control.” Molly said, glaring as the twins gave a snort of laughter.
“Mrs. Weasley, my parents wrote and would like to have dinner with me at the Cauldron this Saturday. Is it ok if I go?” Hermione asked as she cut up her veggies.
“Of course, dear! Just make sure you are back by 10 pm or the wards will lock you out.”
Hermione smiled as she dug into her food. She couldn’t wait to hear what Harry had to tell her.

Draco was lounging in the library when a plain brown owl flew through the window to him. He removed the letter and went to get the owl a treat.
“Here you go. If you are to wait for a response, there is a perch by the window you can rest on.”
The owl gave a quiet hoot and flew to the perch. Draco sat back down in his chair to read the letter.
Malfoy,
I have no idea what I have gotten myself into. I need help with proper Wizarding etiquette because I have no idea what my title would be or how to address others and so on. Also, I need help with vault and property management. You and your family are the most, oh I don’t know, noble I guess is the word I’m looking for, that I have ever met, as far as manners go, it only seemed fitting that I should learn for who I see is the best in these fields. I would like to arrange a meeting between us to start us off on better terms and hash out all our differences. Start with a clean slate so to speak. I would have written directly to your father about titles and what-not but I don’t know how to sign my letters now. Oh, please thank him for me for all that he has done and if him and your mother want to join in on the meet so that we are all on the same foot I wouldn’t mind.
Thank you,
Harry
He couldn’t believe himself. Harry was clueless and it made Draco want to laugh at how panicked he sounded in his letter. He stood and went to his father’s study.
“Father, another letter from Potter arrived.”
“Really? What did it say?”
“He says thank you for all the help you gave in getting him emancipated. Also, he wants to set up a meeting with us. He wants to start over and clear the air between our two houses.”
“Well that is mighty adult of him. Anything else?”
Draco had to hold back his laughter. Lucius watched as his son composed himself.
“He wants us to teach him etiquette along with vault and property management.”
Lucius couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Potter was risking a lot by reaching out to them in the first place. They would be risking just as much if they helped him.
“Invite him to dinner tomorrow night.”
Draco nodded and went to send off his response. He was over joyed that they were finally going to clear the air with Harry. Maybe, just maybe, he would help them get free too.
