: I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you there, babe, : came into his mind as he looked around the table to gage each man's reaction to his words.
There was a sudden snort in his mind that did not come from Rodolphus, followed by... : You would. I sometimes think you love killing just a little too much, Rodolpus Lestrange. :
A soft chuckle sounded. : You may be right about that, Admiral, but only those that deserve it, or need killing. Rabastan and I do not kill for the fun of it, nor do we kill for the thrill of it, like a few I could name. We kill because someone NEEDS to be killed, and the Colonial Armed Service refuses to do so because of their belief that anyone can be rehabilitated eventually. Which we both damn well know is not the case...There are just some people, like Tom Riddle, like my former wife, that enjoy hurting others to much. :
: All too true. You had better be in my office when I get there, Major. You have some explaining to do, and we have quite a few things to discuss. Including this so called Peace Offer the President and the Council are looking at. :
: So they really did sue for Peace? I'm on my way as we speak. I just got off the shuttle. :
The telepathic link that had been between Rodolphus and Roark Sr. shut down as suddenly as it had become active. It was then he heard something from a source that truly shocked him. 'Very good, Roark. That was exactly the answer you needed to give them, my grandson. :

Roark's head jerked up suddenly as that memory slammed into him. His grandfather was NOT telepathic. There should have been no way he could have heard him.
Yet he had.
Then there had been that conversation between Rodolphus and Roark Sr. By all rights, though both WERE telepathic, he should never have been able to hear that either
But he had.
"Blessed Kobol! What the hell was going on? I...heard then! Not just Rodolphus's conversation with the Admiral, but what my grandfather had been thinking as well,"
: Of course, you did, babe. You are one of the most powerful telepaths I have known to exist, and we were likely still linked when I spoke with the Admiral. :
: Rodolphus, : he breathed, feeling that so calm, so reassuring and steady presence in his mind.
: Hello, Darling, : came his reply.
: But...HOW? : he asked of him. : How was I able to hear not just you and Admiral Roark, but my grandfather? :
: How is anything that you seem to be able to do, possible? : he asked. : I need to see you, Rory. There is something that we need to discuss. :
: I'm not sure that's such a good idea just yet. You have not reported in yet. If I saw you now, before you had, I would have to arrest you. Bring you in. :
A feeling of deep amusement. : You could certainly TRY, my love, : he told him, the amusement now coloring his voice.
: Why. Rodolphus? Why haven't you been in to report? Why haven't you come to see me? :
: God, babe, you have to know that I wanted to, that I wanted nothing more than to be with you throughout the entire healing process. I love you, Roark.. :
: You have a fine way of showing it, Rodolphus, : he shot back with all the hurt and uncertainty he had been feeling since he had woken up. Only to learn that his lover had not done what he was supposed to have. : Why? : he asked, a slightly plaintive tone to his tone.
: There was something I needed to look into. Something very important or I would have been at your side throughout your recovery. :
: I'm still recovering, Rodolphus. :
: I know, and if you will let me, I will be by your side for the rest of it."
: You have to know I would like that very much, Dolph. So...what were you looking into that was so important? :
"Well, it wasn't anything that pertained to Tom Riddle or his Organization. I'll tell you all about it when I see you. :
: Then whatever it is, it must have had something to do with us. :
: It does. :

Commander Jacob Adama entered his office to find his grandson standing at the windows of his office, staring blindly down into the Square. As if he sensed his presence, Roark turned, their eyes meeting...holding.
His grandson really did have the most stunning eyes. Hell, if the truth were to be known, Adama thought, his youngest truly was a very handsome young man. From his silky-looking midnight hair, left to fall to his shoulders, the ends curling against his uniform collar. Those silver eyes in a strong, slightly angular, almost oval-shaped face. His body was very fit, lithe, and lean, and he obviously took very good care of himself.
"Roark," he said, also thinking that his beloved grandson was looking just a little too pale...and stressed for his comfort. Moving into his office toward him, he asked, "Do I need to call for Severus or Sebastien?"
"No, Grandfather, that won't be necessary. I'm..." a pause as his lips quirked slightly, "alright. Grandfather--" he broke off, stopping himself as if he remembered where he was suddenly. Drawing himself up, despite the increasing discomfort such a move cost him. "What is happening? Am I in some sort of trouble?"
"No, Rory, you aren't in trouble, though I think you should have thought twice before allowing that Terminator into your bed. I told Harry the same thing when he came in for his Inquiry."
"Is that perhaps why he's barely speaking to you?"
"Unfortunately, yes. I understand they were your informants, and that they were undercover specialists, but the fact remains they are Terminators," he told him, seeing his silver gaze grow stormy with every word.
"And therefore are unacceptable as lovers, is that it?"
"They are," he told him, a slight frown curving his lips.
A soft whistle. "I see. If that is indeed what you said to Harry, that would explain why he barely speaks to you or comes by the house. Well, I am going to tell you the same thing he obviously has. It is a very good thing then that it was our decision, and really none of your business then."
"Roark Christopher Peverell Potter!"
