Gwydion looked over at Ryder in surprise, then he looked at Harry, then at Roark, and his forest green eyes widened as their faces had gone pale. "And no one thought to tell us the two of you were sleeping with the Terminators that have been hired to kill you...WHY?!"
"Because they were asked not to," came the answer from Harry, his tone one of, 'Hello? Obvious.' "The fewer who knew about this, the safer they were. As it is, far too many know that Rabastan and I, and that Rodolphus and Roark are lovers."
"Gwydion," Greyson said as his brother opened his mouth to comment on that. "I'm quite sure we'll get the whole story," he looked at them, a dark brow raised. "Well, boys?"
Roark shook his head with a deep sigh. "How is it that I can be so deeply in love with the man, and yet know so little about him?"
Harry gave him a wry look. "Yeah, same here. Every time I think I have him figured out, he throws something else at me, telling me I really knew nothing at all."
"Hello? Terminators. Tom Riddle's men--"
"Gwydion!" Greyson snapped at him, pointing a finger at him. "You are not helping with your sarcasm, little brother, so can it."
Gwydion looked over at his eldest brother, saw just how irritated he was, and gave a nod, deciding to throw in one more comment. "Fine. Just saying though."
"Grey." Roark reached out to lay a hand on his, and when he looked at him, gave him a shake of his head, a wry smile curving his lips. "Don't. It's alright. He HAS a point. Rodolphus and Rabastan DO work for Tom Riddle. His number one and number two. They ARE both very hard, stone-cold and very deadly killers. Their kill count alone these last few sectons {weeks}--" he broke off, looking over at Harry. "You know, now that I think about it..."
"Riddle's men," he breathed, his emerald eyes going wide in sudden realization. "All those kills...they've been Riddle's men, his Terminators, and others that got in their, or OUR way somehow. Granted, they've made it look like, in some of the cases, like someone else did the actual killing."
A nod. "It's almost as if..." he drifted off, looking down at his hands now, thinking of a way to tell them what he wanted...No. What he NEEDED to tell them.
"As if what, Roark?" Robin asked gently, squeezing himself between Harry and Roark, wrapping an arm around each of their shoulders.
"They are two totally different men when they're with us," Harry said when Roark didn't immediately say anything, finding himself relaxing against Robin, even as Roark did the same. "There is what everyone else sees...what they WANT them to see. Then there is this side of them that only Roark and I see...The side of them we were never SUPPOSED to see."
"Harry's right," Roark said suddenly, looking up from his hands.
"Right about what?" Damien asked as his husband drew him down into his lap.
"Relax babe," he told him in a near whisper that was still heard, 'they'll get there. Just give them time."
"That we were never supposed to see them for what...and WHO they truly are. Though who they TRULY are is still up for grabs. They never intended to let us get as close as we have...as close as THEY have. Things got out of hand so quickly between us," he tilted his head back to look at Robin with a slight grin twisting his lips. "You know, it's a good thing Sebastien isn't as jealous of me as Rodolphus is of you."
A snort of amusement from Harry. "You should have heard Bas on the subject, I think I can thank God I was sedated or he'd have thrown me on the bed and--" he broke off suddenly, his face going pink as the Durin's began to chuckle. "Um...yeah, anyway."
Robin looked at him, shook his head, then returned his gaze to Roark. "Sebastien, darling, knows that he has absolutely no reason to be jealous. Your Rodolphus, though...? He knows nothing of the sort. He has no idea I'm no threat to him, OR to his relationship with you." He gave him a grin. "But don't you worry, he'll learn soon enough."
"Hum...my Rodolphus," he murmured, his smile vanishing, the sparkle that had been in his eyes, dying. "How can he be my anything when he doesn't trust me?"
Robin tapped a finger to his nose. "I think he trusts you a whole hell of a lot more than you think he does. Think about it," he said, a brow arching. "The man is, after all, married, and by all accounts, it's an absolutely horrid marriage. Yet he stays with her. He started a relationship with you...was willing to open his heart...a heart he had closed off when he had been forced to wed a crazy bitch. He comes to you nearly every night, spends the night with you...makes love to you, and unless I am very much mistaken, he has saved your life several times?"
"What?" he gasped in surprise.
"I happen to know for a fact that several of those laser shots that took out more than a few of those men aiming for you on any number of those raids, did not come from any of us, though it CERTAINLY looked like they did."
"They DIDN'T?" he looked over at Harry, saw him shrug.
"I'm not surprised," he said.
"Damn him! He's taking way too many risks! If anyone else happens to be paying as close attention as you all do, they're going to begin to notice...and to wonder. They'll put two and two together, and it'll get back to Riddle," he shook his head. "I'm going to have to have a talk with that idiot about that."
"It wasn't always like this," he said with a sigh. "It was supposed to just be the one night. But as Lex, Tyler, and Jordan said, the kind of passion...of desire that was between us, it was just too hard to resist...or to deny for very long. We just couldn't seem to stay away from each other, and the more we tried, the stronger the feelings became. And the times we saw each other in the City Square...Oh KOBOL, how we burned."
"Agreed," Harry spoke up. "It was just sex, and just the one night. It was never supposed to go any further, but then it happened again...and again. The harder we tried to stay away from each other, the more we couldn't. As time went on, things began to change between us."
"That's putting it mildly. The more time we spent together, the more we WANTED to spend together. Then..." he paused, looked over at Harry, saw his nod, and went on, "then we realized we had fallen in love."
"So tell us about it," Kaden said as he took a seat on the carpeted floor, his back to Greyson's legs. "Tell us about them."
"Alright, but what we tell you can go no further than this room," he told them, looking at each of them in turn. "Their lives are going to depend on it."
