There were no more interruptions, allowing them to finish their lunch, and work in silence, steadily making their way through the files before them. They paid no attention to the passage of time, until...near fourteen hundred centar {hour} their door chimed.
"Come," came Harry's distracted call to the visitor beyond.
The door slid open. "I've brought you two something to eat since you didn't appear to join us for lunch."
"We didn't miss lunch, Ardyn. Elaina went over to the Cantina for her lunch and brought us both back something to eat," Roark said without looking up from the file he was currently looking through.
"I see," he said, taking the tray he carried to the small coffee table before the couch, and setting it down. "I'll just leave it here for you to snack on should you get hungry."
"Thank you, Ardyn," Harry told him, looking up from the file he had just turned the last page on, closing it and putting it aside, pulling another one to him and opening it.
Ardyn looked from Roark to Harry, back again, clear irritation on his face. "What are the two of you looking for so intently?" he finally asked.
"Information," Roark answered, closing the file he had just finished, put it back in its box, and pulled out another. "We've missed something."
A frown appeared. "Missed something? You went through those files with a fine tooth-comb. What information could you think you've missed?"
"We'll know when we find it," Harry told him, finally stopping what he was doing to look at Ardyn, finding him staring at his brother, the look on his face...in his eyes..."Is there a problem, Ardyn?" he asked.
"No, of course not. You went through those files how many times? What is it you think you've missed?"
A shrug. "A very good question, and as Harry said, we'll know when we find it." He looked up then, a midnight brow arching. "Have you got your team together?"
"Almost."
"Then perhaps you should get back to that, hum? I'd like to be ready to move as soon as we get the location of those landing sights." He lowered his head again to the file before him, reaching blindly for his mug. He didn't see the fury that flared, but oh, had he felt it.
Not that he really cared. Ardyn needed to stop thinking he was interested in him when he clearly wasn't. Finding his mug empty, he got to his feet and went to the sideboard.

The beeping began in the silence, just when the fifteen hundred centar {hour} struck, bringing two dark heads up to glance at the clock. With a smile beginning to curve his lips, he turned to find Harry already on his feet, in the process of putting away the files he was currently working on, reaching behind him for the scarlet jacket.
Doing the same, Roark got to his feet as their laptops shut down, excitement beginning to stir. It was time to head home, to put into motion the plans they had each formulated. They quickly put their desks in order, grabbed their satchels, grabbed and put inside the files that yet remained for them to go through, and slid their laptops into place before securing the latches and picking them up.
"Ready?" Harry asked, seeing the building excitement in his brothers eyes, feeling his emotions, and know Roark felt the same from him.
"Past ready," came his answer, moving around his desk, silver eyes dancing. "I need to make a quick stop in Market Square for some ingredients."
Harry nodded as he met his brother. "So do I. Let's get moving then, brother. We have a lot to do before they arrive," he told him as they headed toward the door, stopping briefly to grab their black leather jackets and pull them on over their uniform, black leather gloves going on their hands.
They had just secured the door to their office when the call came. "Harry! Rory!"
They turned as one, smiled. "Hey guys, Ardyn."
"You done for the day?" Ethan asked, moving to Raork's side to lay a hand on the back of his neck. : Ah...good, : he spoke privately to him, slipping easily into his mind. : They may not be as strong as they should be, or as I would like, but at least your shields are back up, : "Are you two headed home now?"
"After a brief stop in Market Square for a few ingredients for our dinner's yes," came the answer with smiles as Sebastien now moved to stop in front of him, slipping a finger under his chin to lift his face to his, studying him carefully.
"I want you to take those tablets I gave you again tonight, a centar {hour} before you go to bed. You too Harry."
"Sebastien," they both said on sighs.
"You need to sleep, Roark. You both do. Take them, get a good eight to nine centars {hours} sleep. We're at a point now that a few missed centars { hours} because you slept in aren't going to matter all that much. We can handle anything that comes up if you DO happen to oversleep."
Harry and Roark looked at each other, then back at Sebastien. "Okay, but only because we actually agree with you. Good night, guys." They turned as one, heading to the stairs with a wave.
"See you all tomorrow," Harry called back to them as the door to the stairwell opened.
"Hey you two," Ardyn called out before they could start down. "Why not come to the Aquarian with us for dinner?"
"Can't, Ardyn, we already have plans for tonight."
"And just what plans would those be? Make yourselved dinner and work all night?" he asked with a glance at their bulging satchels.
Grins appeared. "No, as a matter of fact. We're not planning to work at all. I'm having someone over for dinner."
"WHO?!" came the sharp demand, a note of jealousy in his tone that they all heard, and frowned at.
"Well, now," Roark began, a frown of his own in place as he looked back at him, "that really is no business of yours, now is it, Ardyn?" Twin beeps sounded, making the brothers glance at their watches. "Oops, we really must go. Have a few things to get into place before he arrives. Later."
They both turned and hurred down the stairs, neither of them hearing the chuckles that sounded at the excitement the two showed. Apollo, began to shake his head, amusement alight in his blue eyes as he looked around him.
"Alright, guys, as you obviously know, just what are out Demon Imp and Scamp up too?"
"They're planning some kind of a surprise for their lovers, neither of whom have absolutely no idea what they are about to be hit with," Fili told him, his own eyes dancing with amusement.
"LOVER!! WHAT lover?!" Ardyn demanded. "He told me he wasn't even considering seeing anyone, let alone taking a lover until this case was over."
"The lover he has had for little over a couple of sectars {months}, and things tend to change rather quickly when you meet the one who sets your blood to boiling, and your heart to racing."
"Oh, come ON, Ardyn," Logan said at the look of shocked surprise on his face. "Surely you noticed...You honestly can't have bee that blind? Despite the obvious exhaustion of late, you had to have noticed he's been happier of late? Less tense, more relaxed."
"No. As a matter of fact," he snapped at him, "I can't say that I have. He's not spoken a word about meeting anyone, let alone taking him as a lover. Nor has he shown it. Come to that, neither had Harry."
"If you knew them as well as you claim too," Bill spoke up in a cool tone, "all you had to do was look at them, and you would have seen the difference in the both of them. Charlie and I knew they had lovers the moment we saw them."
"And neither of them have spoken of it because neither of them consider it anyone's business but their own. Their personal lives are just that. Personal. Not up for discussion," Jordan told him.
"And yet all of you knew." He glared around at them.
They ignored the glare, shrugs coming from not only the Durins, bit the Weasley's, Bill, Charlie and their father, Arthur. "There isn't much about the Peverell Potter brothers that we DON'T know. Like the fact there is an exceptionally tight bind between them that only death will break," Desmond said.
"And trust us when we say, you keep pressuring Roark as you have been, Harry is going to react, and you are not going to like how he does."
"Nor," Roan spoke up then, "are we as unobservant as you apparently are. And Harry is not going to be the only one to react negatively to your obviously unwanted pursuit of Roark."
"Leave him alone, Ardyn," Robin said suddenly, his aquamarine eyes cold, hard. "He is not interested in you, and you really should have seen that by now. Now, I'm hungry, let's go get something to eat, boys, Arthur."
As they all turned to head for the lifts, Ardyn turned to Apollo, Zac, Starbuck and Boomer. "Apollo? Zac?"
It was Apollo who answered him as the other three gave shrugs. "We knew they haad lovers the moment we looked at them, but we've yet to speak about it. It's generally best to wait for them to bring something like that up. Those two have always tended to keep things close to themselves, and to each other, until they ARE ready to talk about it. Pushing them for answers before they were ready to give them only made them more defensive, and irritated. They'll come to us when they're ready to talk about it , and not before."
"And it doesn't bother you that the Durins know more about your nephews then you two do?"
"No," Zac answered. "Several of them are very strong empaths, and more than a few of them are mild ones. They've always known more about what was going on with Harry and Roark than us...or anyone else since those two were very young, and what one Durin knows. they ALL know. It's been that way ever since I've known them."
Apollo smacked a hand to his back. "Best not to worry on it," he told him cheerfully. "Come on, I'll buy you a drink."
Ardyn let himself be drawn down the hall, thinking viciously to himself, 'WHen I find out who this son of a bitch is, I'm going to kill him very slowly, and very painfully. 'Roark Peverell Potter is mine. He belongs solely to me!'
