"SIRIUS!"
"No! Stop! I didn't do it! No! NO!"
"SIRIUS! WAKE UP!" James screamed as he shook his lover.
"Stop! Please stop! I didn't do it! Stop! No!"
James grabbed both of Sirius' shoulders tightly and shook his best friend as hard as he could. Finally, Sirius' eyes opened, and he stared at James with a confused expression on his face.
"Thank Merlin," James whispered as he wrapped his arms around Sirius' body.
Sirius returned the embrace. He was almost completely still for several minutes before he began sobbing into James' chest.
James just held his lover tightly and murmured soothing words into Sirius' ear.
Eventually, Sirius' sobs slowed down, but he still clung to James as tightly as he could.
"Siri?"
"What?" Sirius said, lifting his head.
James felt tears coming to his own eyes as he looked at Sirius' saddened expression.
"Do you want to talk about it?" James asked. He tenderly kissed Sirius' forehead and then began to gently run his fingers through Sirius' long locks. "It might help, you know."
"I know," Sirius replied. "I I'm sorry, James."
"Whatever for?" James asked.
"
"For waking you up and-"
"Stop right there, Sirius," James interrupted. "You have done nothing wrong. Nothing at all! After everything you have been through, it makes sense that you would still have horrible nightmares. You're not bothering me at all. I want to be here to comfort you and listen to you. I always want to be here for you no matter what's going on. I love you, Sirius. You mean the world to me."
More tears slowly made their way out of Sirius' beautiful blue yes, and James carefully wiped them away with his fingers.
"Do you want to talk about it, love?"
Sirius pressed his head against James' shoulder and took a deep breath. "I was in Azkaban. The dementors loved to surround me when I first got there. They knew how upset and depressed I was. All I could think about was the fact that you were dead, and it was all my fault."
James hugged Sirius tightly to his chest and both started crying. Eventually, they fell asleep, still clutching each other tightly.
"Good morning," James said quietly as soon as Sirius' eyes opened.
Sirius smiled and cuddled up next to James. "Thank you for listening last night."
"I'll always be here for you," James replied. "Siri?"
"Hmm?"
"You said something last night you said that it was all your fault."
"Oh," Sirius mumbled. "Well, it was."
"Don't say that!" James exclaimed, causing Sirius to flinch. "Sorry. It's just that it really upsets me that you still think this is all your fault. None of this is your fault, Siri! I just wish you would believe that."
Sirius propped himself up and looked down at James. "I'm sorry, James, but I still do feel like it is my fault. I should never have-"
James pressed a finger against Sirius' lips. "Please don't, Siri. Please, please believe me when I say it's not your fault."
Sirius stared at James and said nothing as James slowly brushed away a few loose strands of Sirius' black hair that had fallen into his sapphire eyes.
"I'ly," y," Sirius finally said.
"I guess that's all I can ask for," James whispered, embracing Sirius again.
"Remus? May I talk to you?" Harry asked as he ran up to his professor in the hallway.
"Of course, Harry," Remus replied. "We can go to my rooms, all right?"
Harry nodded and worriedly followed his professor. As soon as both were sitting down, Remus spoke again.
"Harry, what's wrong? You look nervous about something, and I know it has nothing to do with the quidditch match."
Harry sighed and stared into Remus' tired amber eyes. "Why didn't you tell me about my mum and you?"
Remus ran his fingers through his hair and studied the young man before him. "Because I could already tell that you wanted to bring Sirius back, and he deserves to be happy, Harry. Besides, your father was a wonderful friend, and he also deserves a chance to be alive again with Sirius."
"Remus, you deserve a chance to be happy, too."
"Perhaps," Remus replied. "They deserve it more."
"That's not true," Harry said quietly. "Why do you say that?"
Remus shrugged his shoulders. "I guess I'm starting to feel really guilty again."
"About not believing Sirius?"
Remus nodded his head.
"He has already forgiven you. You know that," Harry pointed out.
"Yes, I know," Remus sighed. "Look, Harry. I think you did the right thing. I truly loved your mother, and I appreciate your being concerned about me, but like I said, you did the right thing. Your father and Sirius deserve a second chance. Please stop worrying about me."
"But I-"
"I'll see you later, Harry. Good luck at the quidditch match."
"Remus, I-," Harry stopped speaking when he saw the look on Remus' face. "Thanks then. I'll see you later."
"Hey, sexy!"
"You're awfully happy for this early in the morning," Harry said, raising an eyebrow.
"It's not that early," Draco mumbled. "Nine-thirty, I think. You look gorgeous, by the way."
Harry smiled and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend. "So do you," he said as he passionately kissed his lover.
"Why don't we just call off the game and shag all day?" Draco suggested.
"I think a lot of people would be unhappy with that decision," James said as he and Sirius passed the two younger men.
"What if we let them watch?" Draco suggested loudly.
"Draco!" Harry exclaimed as he jokingly slapped his boyfriend's arm.
James rolled his eyes while Sirius just laughed
