Chapter Nine
Plans and Love
Jordan could feel herself flying back as she slammed into
the ground. She growled to herself as
she struggled to stand. Using a chair
as leverage, she pulled herself up and looked around the yard as she raised her
wand up. She narrowed her eyes as she
struggled to see through the darkness.
"You're dead," came a voice from behind as she
felt coldness of a wand press agt het her neck.
"Oh bloody hell!" she muttered as she shoved the
wand away from her.
"You need to concentrate," said Remus as he
stepped in front of her. Jordan rolled
her eyes.
"It's a bit hard to concentrate when I spend most of
the time on the ground," she hissed as lower her gaze at him.
"Even while you're on the ground," said Remus as
he paced in front of her, "you need to be concentrating. You can't lay there, wondering why you're
there. You have to be more aware of
your surroundings."
"Maybe I could be more aware if you didn't insist on
doing this at night," said Jordan as she crossed her arms.
"Do you really think Alex is going to be wearing a
bell so you can find him?" asked Remus as he raised an eyebrow, "You
need to use your all of your senses."
"Fine," she said as she brushed the grass off
her.
"Here, lay down," said Remus as he motioned toward
the ground.
"Why? What
are you going to do to me?" asked Jordan.
"Just lay down," said Remus as he nudged
her. Jordan took a deep breath and
slowly laid on the cool grass.
"Good," said Remus as he stood above her,
"Now close your eyes and clear your mind."
Jordan lightly closed her eyes and relaxed. She felt her body go limp as all her
thoughts left her. "Tell me, what
do you hear?" asked Remus.
"Crickets," she said, "Lots of them."
"Anything else?"
"Yes. I can
hear you pacing back and forth," said Jordan as Remus smiled.
"Very good.
Now, what do you smell?"
"Grass and rain.
It's going to rain," she muttered.
"Good," said Remus as he stepped over her legs,
straddling her, "Now, what do you sense?"
"You're standing over me," she said as she
opened her eyes and looked up at him.
"Get up," he said as he grabbed her hand,
"Try to get my wand away from me."
Jordan watched as he stepped away from her and crossed in
front of her. She raised her wand,
waiting for the right moment to strike, but before she could, Remus had her on
the ground again. She quickly stood
this time and saw that Remus was standing in front of her, getting ready to
strike again.
"Expelliarmus!" she yelled as a flash flew out of her
wand.yes"> "Do you think I'm ready?" she asked.
"Almost,"
he said, "You're getting better."
"If
I haven't said it before, thank you for helping me. You didn't really have to since Snape wasn't very pleasant toward
you that morning," said Jordan as she looked over at him.
"I've
been meaning to ask you why Snape asked me and not you," said Remus as he
placed his wand in his robes.
"I was
going to ask you until he showed up," Jordan began. "But I
guess love makes men do strange things."
Her eyes
widened in shock as she realized what she had just said, and regretted it
instantly.
"Snape? In love?" asked Remus as he raised his
eyebrows and chuckled at how red Jordan had gotten.
Jordan
ducked her head now and took a deep breath.
"We've... we've been together for a while now," she quietly
said.
"That
explains his behavior the other morning.
I've never seen him act so protective of someone before," mused
Remus.
"You
aren't going to tell him you know are you?" she asked as she glanced over
at him.
"I won't. Your secret is safe with me," said Remus as he smiled at
her.
"And
you aren't going to warn me to stay away from him, right?"
"Not
at all. What ever makes you happy
Jordan," he said as the backdoor opened and Molly stepped outside.
"Dumbledore
just sent a post. He wants to meet with
you two in a few minutes," she said as she wiped her hands on her apron.
"Thank
you Molly," said Jordan as she stood up and went to the house with Remus
following suit.
When
they walked through the door, Snape and Tonks were already sitting at the
table, glaring at each other. Molly
sighed at them and picked up a pot of tea she'd just brewed. "Anyone want some tea?" she asked
as she looked over at Jordan, "You're tracking mud into my clean house!"
"Sorry,"
said Jordan as she stomped the mud off her boots with made Molly grimace.
"Do it on the rug over there," she yelled.
"Molly, no harm," said Remus as he sat beside
Tonks, "I'm sure you can sweep it up."
"I would sweep it up but I'm only good at riding
brooms," said Jordan as she smiled and sat down beside Remus.
Molly growled just as Dumbledore arrived. "Ah Molly," he said as he smiled,
"I see you got everyone here.
Thank you."
"You're welcome," she said as she threw Jordan a
nasty look before retreating to the other room.
"I called this meeting to discuss this problem Jordan
is having with Alex. I didn't invite
all of the Order because I feel all of you can handle it. I know that we're supposed to me looking for
Voldermort but I firmly believe taking Alex out will make it easier for us to
get to the Death Eaters," said Dumbledore as he sat by Snape.
"Are we going to wait for the week to be up or are we
going to strike before?" asked Remus.
"We only have two more days before it becomes a
week," said Dumbledore as he looked over at Jordan, "Has he contacted
you as to a meeting place?"
<
<
"He did earlier today," said Jordan as she
nodded, "He wants me to meet him at my father's old house."
"Very well," said Dumbledore as he folded his
hands in front of him, "We shall wait until then to engage him. Anyone have any suggestions as to how we
should do it?"
"I think Miss Harris shouldn't even go," said
Snape with got him a glare from Jordan.
"I think that should be Jordan's decision on rather goe goes or not," said Dumbledore.
"With all due respect, I don't think she's ready to
fight him," retorted Snape.
"Stop being such a prat!" said Jordan as she
looked at Snape, "Next you're going to suggest locking me in a cage."
"And I wouldn't have a problem with that. Be better than having you there to mess
things up," sneered Snape.
"Maybe we should lock you in a cage," she
spat out.
"As if you could," hissed Snape as Dumbledore
cleared his throat.
Jordan rolled her eyes and glanced over at Remus, who was
covering his mouth to a suppress a laugh.
She gave him a swift kick under the table.
"Jordan, do you want to go or not?" asked
Dumbledore.
"I do," said Jordan, "He's my
problem."
"Well, that's settle," said Dumbledore as he
stood, "Remus and Severus will go with Jordan while Tonks will be on
standby."
"Very well," said Snape as he stood and glared
at Jordan, "I hope you know what you're doing Miss Harris."
"I do," she said before Snape walked out of the
kitchen, "Goodnight you two."
Jordan walked out of the kitchen and down the
hallway. She slowly went up the stairs
and retreated to her room. Jordan smiled as he pulled her
against him.
"Are you angry with me?" she asked as he planted
a kiss on her neck. She felt him let go
of her body as he stepped around her.
"Not angry," he stated as he stood in front of
her, "I know you can take care of yourself. I'm just worried that something might go wrong."
"There's no need to worry Severus," said Jordan
as she wrapped her fingers around his cloak and pulled him to her. He moaned as her lips captured his.
"Charm," he said between kisses. Jordan raised her wand and charmed the door
so no one could walk in or hear what wasng ong on in the room.
Jordan slowly dropped her wand and pushed Snape back onto
the bed, straddling him in one move.
"I'm going to win this time," she said as she looked down at
him.
"I know you will," he said as he grabbed her
hips and pulled her down. They let
themselves get caught up in the other, for neither one of them knew what the
future was going to bring.
A/N: I still hate the ending ^_^
