Chapter 9: It’s Not What You Use. It’s How You Use It
The next morning left Draco feeling unnerved. ‘He’s going to try something I know it,’ Draco thought.
For the whole morning, there was nothing on his mind besides Diggory and what that blasted Hufflepuff would be doing to try and win Harry back.
‘There is no way that I’m going to let that son-of-a-bitch end up with Harry. I have to think of something.’
As Draco started pacing the room, there came a knock on his door. “Come in,” he said and the door opened. “Severus, what are you doing here?” Draco asked as he saw his godfather walk inside the room.
“I came to see if you were all right,” answered Severus as he looked at Draco. “Your mother called me and told me that you haven’t been yourself lately.”
“Of course I’ve been myself,” laughed Draco. “If I wasn’t myself… Who would I be then?”
For a moment, shock appeared in Severus’ eyes but was soon whipped away. “There is something wrong, isn’t there?”
Draco was silent.
“Draco, I’m worried about you,” the elder man continued.
At this Draco grunted and turned away from his godfather. Then he started pacing the room several times before he stopped abruptly and turned to face Severus.
“If I tell you something, do you promise not to tell my father … or anyone else for that matter?”
“Yes, of course,” the man said, inclining his head slightly.
“Because if you do, I will never speak to you again,” warned Draco.
Severus had to recover from another bout of shock before he could answer his godson. Nothing had ever been serious enough for Draco to say that.
“Yes I promise. What is wrong?”
“I think I’m falling in love.”
“Oh?” Severus asked as he arched an eyebrow.
That was definitely not what he had expected. But being the wise man that he was, Severus Snape did not say another word, knowing there was more Draco wanted to say.
Draco took a deep breath before he continued. “I think I’m in love with Harry Potter.”
This time Draco’s godfather couldn’t keep the surprise off of his face. He stood there in the room, looking at Draco, but not really seeing him. If this had been any other time, Draco would surely have been laughing at the sight of his speechless godfather; the man who always had something to say about everything. But this was no time for humor. This was serious. Draco had to tell him the rest and hope that his godfather could help. Before he continued talking, Draco started pacing the room again.
“But you see there’s a problem. It seems that Diggory and Harry dated before they came to Hogwarts. They broke up for some reason or another, and now that they’re back at the same school, Diggory wants to get back with Harry,” he said, turning to look at his still shocked godfather every once and a while. “Of course Harry wants nothing more to do with Diggory, but that blasted Hufflepuff won’t leave him alone,” he said a little irritably. “Like yesterday, when Harry and I were at the amusement park together, Diggory had the audacity to try and win some sympathy points by mentioning his dead mother,” he sneered. “But if Diggory thinks he’s going to get away with it, he better think again.”
The blonde’s last words were spoken more to himself than to his godfather. So when he finally stopped pacing and really looked at Severus, he was mildly surprised to see his godfather frozen in place.
“Severus,” said Draco, walking up to his godfather before waving his hand in front of the man’s face, effectively snapping him out of his trance.
“You … and Harry … Potter?” Severus said, sneering as he said the last word, which caused Draco to frown.
“Yes. Why, do you have a problem with that?” Draco almost growled.
“No, no. I have no problem with it,” said Severus as he raised his hands up in surrender before a smile appeared on his face that surprised. “It would seem that your family is always in love with one member of another of that family.”
At Draco’s confused expression, Severus explained what he meant. The blonde sat down on his bed and listened intently at what his godfather was saying and found the whole story very interesting and amusing.
“I guess if it wasn’t for Sirius Black, there would be no Draco Malfoy, or Harry or Sammy Potter,” said Severus and then sneered again. “That bastard just can’t keep his nose out of other people’s business,” he growled, causing his godson to raise an elegant eyebrow at him. “But that’s a story for another time. Right now I have to warn you about Potter. He’s no good for you, Draco. He will only bring you pain, and in the same way his parents gave your parents nothing but pain.”
“But Severus, I know he likes me,” Draco insisted.
“Draco, he’s just leading you on. He’ll throw you away once he has what he wants from you.”
“You’re wrong Severus,” the blonde said coolly, not liking the fact that his godfather was talking badly about Harry.
“I hope for your sake that I am,” Severus said, recognizing the warning look in Draco’s eyes. “So this is what has your mother calling me everyday this week about your … odd behavior?”
“Probably…,” Draco shrugged, his recent anger slipping away, though not as quickly as it came. “I guess ever since I met Harry, I’ve kind of been out of it.”
“It’s a good thing that this hasn’t affected your school work though.”
“Parish the thought,” Draco scoffed. “My father would skin me alive if it did,” said Draco but then suddenly groaned.
“What’s wrong?”
“I just remembered that I have this stupid assignment to do. It’s due on Monday and I haven’t even started it yet.”
“What is the assignment?” Severus asked curiously, thinking since he was he, he might as well help.
“I have to draw a picture,” the blonde said with very little enthusiasm.
“What’s so stupid about that?”
“I have to draw it only using food ingredients,” he said, giving his godfather a look that significantly told the man how stupid he thought the assignment was to him.
“I see. Well, it’s a little disturbing to know that my old school comrade is still as childish as ever,” said Severus and was expecting Draco to agreed but instead found the boy with a very victorious grin on his face. “And what do I owe the pleasure to see that smile?”
“I’ve just thought of something,” was all that the blonde said before walking up to his godfather. “Well Severus, it’s been a pleasure having you over, but I must be going now,” he said as he led his godfather out of his room.
“And where might that be?”
Draco only smiled as he and Severus walked out of his bedroom. Then Draco took a set of keys out of his pocket and locked his door before leaving a very confused Severus behind.
Severus couldn’t remember the last day when he’d been so baffled and that feeling unnerved him very much.

Harry Potter sat in one of his mother’s restaurants, in his best suit, beside his sister, Hermione and Ron, who had all come with Harry to Mrs. Diggory’s funeral. After the funeral had ended, Harry’s mother had offered to have the reception at one of her restaurants. Everyone, especially Mr. Diggory, was gratified, as none of the food that was ordered for the reception had arrived where it was supposed to arrive, leaving dozens of hungry guests.
After a while of reminiscing with Mr. Diggory about his late wife, most of the people had left to go home. As the restaurant started emptying out, Harry sat down by his two friends, with his sister beside him, and they all started talking. As they talked, Harry saw Cedric standing by the kitchen doors, a depressed look on his face.
“I think I should go over there and talk to him,” said Harry, but before he got up, he saw Hermione and Ron sharing a very distressed look. “What’s wrong?” Harry asked.
“Well Harry,” Hermione hesitantly said, “and I hope I’m wrong about this, but … I don’t think Cedric’s as … mournful as he seems to be.”
“I don’t understand,” Harry said before looking over at his sister, who looked just as confused as he felt.
“Jeez,” said Ron. “Are you two really that naïve?” Ron asked, sighing when he received confused looks from both Harry and Sammy. “Harry… Hermione and I think that Cedric may be using this funeral thing to get back with you.”
“No,” said Harry, shaking his head and laughing. “Cedric would never do that.”
“Are you sure? Cedric never seemed this depressed before. This is the first time I’ve seen him look like this. I mean sure he’s looked sad, but now he looks positively depressed.”
“Well that’s because he told me a part of him still thinks his mother’s going to come back.”
“Listen Harry,” said Hermione, “we’re not saying that we don’t like Cedric, it’s just that ever since Tuesday, he’s been acting kind of…”
“Crazy,” finished Ron for her. “He’s been acting kind of crazy.”
“Ron!”
“He gets that why whenever your around … or when Malfoy’s around. I still don’t know why you were with him at the amusement park unless… You don’t have a thing for Malfoy, do you?” Ron asked, whispering.
“What makes you say that?” Harry asked, looking extremely shocked.
“Well your sister told us how you prefer guys over girls…”
Harry turned to his sister is shock and a little bit of anger, with a touch of betrayal for good measure.
“Don’t worry. None of the Gryffindors will say anything unless you tell us to. But please tell me that you weren’t on some kind of date with … Malfoy,” pleaded Ron, but groaned when there was no answer. “Draco Malfoy are you out of your mind? He’s a total nut job.”
“No he isn’t,” Harry laughed. “And I think he likes me as much as I like him,” he said, starting to get excited.
“Well … I guess that would explain why he’s been so nice to you,” said Ron, and then he suddenly started laughing. “Oh boy… Pansy’s going to flip when she finds out.”
“Cedric’s not going to be too happy about it either,” Hermione pointed out.
“He already knows,” said Harry. “And he knows not to tell anyone either or my grandfather will kill him.”
“Why?”
“Well my grandfather’s kind of blind when it comes to my … preference. Cedric had tried to tell him that I was gay once behind my back. Then when Cedric told me about it he said that my grandfather looked as if he wanted to tear Cedric limb from limb,” he said as he looked over at Cedric again only to see the dejected look on the older boy’s face. “I think I should go over there and talk to him.”
“Harry, be careful when you’re around him okay, just in case he tries to take advantage of you.”
“I’m sure he won’t,” assured Harry before getting up from his chair and walking over to his ex. “Cedric,” the kind-hearted boy greeted as he placed a hand on Cedric’s arm.
“Hey Harry,” said Cedric, giving Harry a very sad smile. “Thanks again for coming. It meant a lot to me and my father.”
“No problem. Do you think you’ll be okay?”
“I’m sure I’ll be fine,” he said.
They stood there in a saddened silence for a while. It was only until several seconds later that Cedric spoke up again.
“Harry, can I ask you something?”
“Sure.”
Cedric held onto Harry wrist and led them to where they wouldn’t be over heard.
“Yesterday at the amusement park, were you and Draco really on a date together?” The older boy asked, praying to anyone who would listen that the answer was no.
“Yes we were.”
“Do you actually like him?”
“Yes I do,” Harry said with a little smile, causing Cedric to turn away and stare at nothing in particular. “Are you okay Cedric?”
For a long time, Cedric didn’t answer. Then he turned back to face Harry, his eyes darkened with an unreadable expression.
“I meant what I said yesterday, you know,” said Cedric, inching closer to the oblivious boy. “I can’t seem to live without you. And I won’t stop until I win you back.”
With that, Cedric leaned in and quickly kissed Harry on the cheek before turning around and walking away.

When Harry and the rest of his family finally drove up to their house, the first thing they noticed was the familiar Hurst that sat in front of their house. As the Potter’s car drove up in the driveway, Draco’s chauffeur stepped out of the Hurst and walked up to Harry, who had just gotten out of the car.
“Young Master Malfoy has requested that you join him at the Malfoy Manor this afternoon,” the chauffeur said to Harry.
“Well you can just tell your young Master that Harry has no intention of setting foot in that place again,” informed James.
“Dad, I can speak for myself,” Harry told his father before turning to the chauffeur and smiling. “I’ll just be a second. I have to change out of this suit,” he said before running into the house and leaving his very frustrated father behind.
= =
An hour after he had sent his chauffeur to pick Harry up, Draco opened his front door and welcomed a very curious raven-haired beauty into his home. “Welcome again to my humble abode,” greeted Draco as he smiled at Harry.
“Why thank you,” smiled Harry as he walked inside Draco’s house. “And when do you plan on telling me why you asked my here?”
“All in good time,” Draco smirked as he closed the door. “Come and follow me.”
Finding no reason not to, Harry let Draco lead him down the hall and up a couple of stairs. When they finally stopped walking, Harry found himself in front of Draco’s bedroom door. Then he saw Draco taking out a set of keys from his pocket to unlock his door.
“You have a lock for your bedroom?” Harry asked curiously, vaguely wondering if his parents would let him have a lock on his door.
“Of course,” Draco smirked. “Don’t you?”
As the door opened, Harry’s curiosity grew. Inside, the middle of the room had been filled with food ingredients of every kind: ketchup, mustard, and tomato sauce, relish, sweet corn, syrup and so on.
“What’s all of this for?” Harry asked as he walked into the room, looking around until his eyes fell on some couches nearby where two empty canvases were.
“I couldn’t think of what to do for Professor Black’s class, and I thought maybe you didn’t either. So I had this great idea that we should work together. Give each other ideas and then start drawing when we found the perfect one. I thought it would be a good way to make up for yesterday.”
“Good thinking.”
Harry walked up to one of the ingredients, the syrup, and looked into it before dipping his finger inside. Then he lifted his finger out, letting the excess syrup drip from his finger, before inserting the digit in his mouth and moaning softly at the taste.
Looking at the scene, Draco had a hard time controlling his arousal as blood rushed from his brain to his groin. Naughty images started flashing through his mind. Images where Harry was lying on his bed, covered in syrup, and Draco with the important job of licking it off.
“So how was the funeral?” The blonde asked suddenly, knowing that having these thoughts wasn’t the smartest thing to do at the moment.
Shrugging, Harry took his finger from his mouth with a small pop.
“It was the same as every other funeral,” was all he said. “Shall we begin?”
“Yes,” Draco said, thankful for the distraction.
It took a while for them to actually decide on what to draw. For a while, the two of them just sat on the nearby couches and started talking about anything that popped into their heads, which suited Draco’s plan perfectly.
Harry was the first to get an idea, after having sat and talked with Draco for a while. After that, the green-eyed boy promptly set to work, picking up a few ingredients on the way. When Draco finally had his idea, with help from Harry, he set to work as well. They faced each other as they painted, each wanting to surprise the other when their work was completed.
“Do you mind if I ask you something?” Harry asked after a while.
“No, I don’t mind,” said Draco, pausing in his drawing to give Harry his full attention.
“When we were at the amusement park, why did Ron call you a ferret?”
Draco tensed for a moment before he spoke. “It’s a long story,” was all he ended up saying.
“I don’t have anywhere to go, so I could do with a good story.”
“I didn’t say it was a good story, just a long one. But I’ll tell you what happened if you tell me something in return.”
“Okay. You go first.”
“Okay well… It happened when I was in my last year at Hogwarts Middle School. For an assignment, my class was sent to a zoo to study some of the animals there, mine was a ferret. For most of the day, I sat by my assigned animal and started writing down the notes that was on a board in front of the cage. Don’t ask me why, but the Weasley twins were there as well, and I guess they had this crazy idea to set all of the animals free. Well let’s just say it caused a little bit of hysteria among the people in the reptile section. As I was being amused with watching all of the chaos, one of the ferrets that I had been studying decided to cause a little chaos of its own.
“It crawled up one of my pant legs, and I was unfortunate enough to have Weasley as well as Granger witness the whole scene. Now every time he wants to get under my skin, all he has to do is call me a ferret, and I lose it. I would have yesterday if you hadn’t pulled me away.”
When Draco finished his story, he saw that Harry was trying, unsuccessfully to hold back his amusement. He had disappeared behind his canvas and Draco could distinctively hear the warning signs of laughter from the other side.
“You can laugh,” Draco sighed. “I know you want to.”
At that moment, Harry held onto his stomach as he burst out laughing. Closing his eyes, Harry never saw Draco pick up a ketchup bottle and aim it at Harry. All of a sudden, Harry had ketchup sprayed on his shirt. He immediately stopped laughing.
“Hey,” exclaimed Harry as he looked down at his ketchup-covered shirt.
“That’s what you get when you laugh at a Malfoy,” Draco said, holding up the ketchup bottle in triumph.
“Oh really…” said Harry as he picked up a mustard bottle. “Well do you know what you get when you spray a Potter with ketchup?”
“You wouldn’t,” Draco said, though he eyed the mustard bottle wearily.
“Wouldn’t I?” Harry asked before spraying Draco with the mustard a second later.
Soon both boys found themselves dodging ingredients that came flaying towards them, though only occasionally hitting their target. The fight lasted for quite a while until Harry found himself without any weapon of his own while Draco still held a spray can filled with cheese in his hand.
“You wouldn’t,” said Harry as he started backing away from Draco.
“I would,” the blonde smirked as he walked towards his prey.
“But I’m unarmed,” Harry insisted.
“That doesn’t matter in the least to me.”
“That’s not fair. Don’t you dare spray me with that,” Harry said as he backed further away.
“Say you surrender,” Draco said, stopping a few inches from the other boy.
“Never,” Harry said stubbornly, hitting Draco’s bed as he took another step back.
Draco shrugged and then started spraying Harry all over with cheese, causing Harry to fall back. In only took a few seconds before Harry finally raised his hands up in front of his face in surrender.
“Alright, alright … I give, I give … I surrender,” he finally said.
“Good,” Draco smirked as he stopped spraying Harry with the cheese bottle. “I guess you’re not the only one who gets what he wants.”
Draco know that had another second pass, the cheese would have been finished. That is why he found his victory very satisfying as he rested his hands on either side of Harry’s head. But when Harry removed his hands, the smirk vanished, and the blonde was left to stare at the most amazingly bright, green eyes he had ever seen.
‘Molly was right,’ was all Draco could think about.
Soon, Draco had become so entranced by those gorgeous eyes that he never noticed the distance between them getting shorter.
= =
When Harry had removed his hands from his face, he had frozen as he looked into enticing, silver eyes staring back at him. His heart started pounding, and his mind was a blank, as those absolutely hypnotic eyes engulfed his entire being. He never even noticed that the distance between them was getting smaller and smaller.
The boys became so close that they could feel each other’s breath. Then before either of them knew what was happening, they kissed. Their eyes closed as they started an innocent kiss. Licking the bottom of Harry’s lips, Draco begged for entrance. Harry quickly parted his lips, more then happy to welcome Draco’s tongue inside. They both relished the feeling of Draco’s tongue exploring inside Harry’s mouth.
Soon the kiss became more intense, neither seeming to have enough of each other. Draco found the inside of Harry’s shirt and started caressing Harry’s back. Harry moaned at the contact and started running his fingers through Draco’s silky blonde hair. Then, all too soon, the kiss ended, though the two only parted for much needed air. When their eyes opened again, they could see their lips were still inches apart, as if waiting for when they were ready for more.
“Wow,” gasped Harry when he found his voice again.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that,” confessed Draco, still breathing heavily.
“And you have no idea how long I’ve wanted you to do that,” smiled Harry.
Neither of them moved for a while as each boy was enticed by the other’s eyes. They leaned in again for another kiss, this one longer and a little more insistent. When they broke apart again, Harry was once again the first one to speak.
“I think I should get cleaned up now,” he said, blushing when he noticed his position underneath the blonde.
Seeing the raven-haired boy’s flushed face and realizing the reason for it, Draco reluctantly climbed off of Harry and sat up.
“My bathroom is through the closet,” he said as he gestured to the right of the bed.
“Your bathroom’s inside your closet?” Harry asked, not sure it he heard right.
“No, not inside,” Draco laughed, “through.”
Holding onto Harry’s hand, Draco helped the shorter boy off of the bed. He then opened the door by his bed and led Harry into a closet that was half the size of the bedroom. On the other side of the closet though, right in front of the closet door, was another door. Guiding Harry towards that door, Draco opened it and walked with Harry inside.
Once there, Harry noticed that the bathroom was the same size as the closet. In front of the bathroom door was a counter with two sinks, a mirror hanging above it and cupboards below. To the left of the counter was the toilet. Beside the toilet, in the corner of the bathroom, was a shower. On the same wall as the door was a large bathtub, while the left of the door held a window that reached just above shoulder length. Everything in the bathroom was covered with light green and silver, from the marbled counter top and floor to the silver sparkled glass on the door of the shower and on the window.
“I’ll go and get you some clean clothes to wear,” said Draco.
Draco then left Harry inside the bathroom. When he returned, he handed Harry a blue T-shirt that felt suspiciously like silk and black jeans before leaving again. Placing the clothes on the counter, Harry looked into the mirror.
‘I can’t believe he just kissed me,’ thought Harry.
As he took off his ketchup and cheese covered shirt, he couldn’t help smiling at the thought. Even as he washed his face, Harry couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss.
‘I’ve never been kissed like that before. It felt like I was catching on fire.’
Soon Harry had changed into Draco’s clothes. He felt chills run down his spin as he felt the silken shirt.
‘I’m wearing Draco’s clothes. Draco Malfoy wore these clothes at one time. Draco kissed me. Draco Malfoy had his hand up my shirt.’
Harry sighed as another smile crept on his face.
‘Calm yourself Harry,’ he thought, shaking his head before looking in the mirror. ‘Get a hold of yourself. It was just a kiss. It was just a kiss that was a hundred times better than the one in your dreams but a kiss nonetheless. I can’t wait for the next one,’ thought Harry before he turned around and opened the bathroom door.
= =
‘He looks absolutely gorgeous in my clothes,’ thought Draco as he saw Harry walking out of the bathroom.
“I’m all done,” smiled Harry before leaving the closet.
‘I can’t believe I kissed him’ thought Draco as he smiled.
Draco walked into the bathroom as he pulled his shirt over his head and quickly threw it in the hamper.
‘And he let me kiss him,’ he thought as he unbuckled his jeans. ‘Felling Harry’s body underneath me was way more erotic than the dream, and it was just a kiss.’
Draco stared in the mirror and licked his lips at the memory. His hand instinctively reached for his slightly hard length before he realized what he was doing. He knew this wasn’t the time or the place to be jerking around. It would give Harry a bad impression if he were to hear Draco grunting and groaning.
Calming himself down, Draco finally discarded the rest of his clothes before putting on clean ones. When he finished changing, Draco left the washroom and then the closet before finding Harry sitting on Draco’s bed. At the sight of the blonde, Harry raised an eyebrow in amusement and smiled.
“Are you still laughing about that ferret incident?” Draco asked as he sat down beside Harry.
Harry shook his head but the smile was still on his face.
“You are, aren’t you?” Draco insisted.
Harry giggled before raising his hands and cupping Draco’s face. Then he leaned in and slowly licked the side of Draco’s chin before moving away.
“You had some syrup on your chin,” smiled Harry before he got up to finish the rest of his picture.

A/N: Poor, naïve Harry. Always so optimistic about people, always so adorable, always so… Well you get the idea. You have no idea how hard I tried not to write ‘he came out of the closet’ because I thought that was just way too silly.
