one needs to knowThe raven haired boy’s eyes
shot open as he felt his body bouncing up from the couch. Someone had just let
himself drop very heavily besides him. And that someone had
also one of his legs sprawled on top of Harry’s thigh, trapping it
underneath.“Uh… Dean, you’re taking lots of space.” Harry said,
after realizing the boy would not move an inch if he didn’t
say anything about it.The black boy pulled his leg away, mumbling, but
staying in his slouched position besides Harry.“I thought you were hanging out with Neville today?”
Harry asked as he stared at the lazy looking Gryffindor.“Yeah… But I tried this spell and he sort of… ended up
at the Hospital Wing, and since Seamus is being an arse, I’m stuck doing nothing
today…” Dean sighed in despair. “What’re you doing here anyways, Harry? Thought
you’d be with Hermione and Ron…”Harry shrugged.
“They’re prefects; I’m not… they told me they needed
to do something but I wasn’t really listening, so…”It was Harry’s turn to sigh deeply.
“You know I can’t wait ‘til next DA meeting! They’re brilliant! And remember that Duel you and Malfoy had a few weeks back-” Harry interrupted the boy,
snorting loudly.“How could I forget? My body only ached like hell for three
days after all!” Harry exclaimed sarcastically.“What kind of spell was that anyways?”
“Dunno…” Harry lied,
shrugging. He doubted Malfoy would be very pleased if
other people were to find out about the little conversation they had shared the
night at the infirmary. Malfoy had been very clear a
few days ago that no one could know they were anything else but enemies, and
for some reason, thinking about Draco’s harsh words
pained him.“It’s a good thing that you guys had Hermione and Ron
to cover it up though, don’t know what Pomfrey
would have thought of yours and Malfoy’s state other
wise…”The messy raven haired boy
simply nodded.“You know, talking about Malfoy,
he was acting pretty strangely at last meeting; silent and cooperative, unlike
the annoying bastard he usually is!”Harry quickly shot a glance at Dean.
“He isn’t that bad!” Harry found himself
surprised of the harshness in his voice, surprised he had even taken Malfoy’s defence.Dean d atd at Harry for a few moments.
“Are we talking about the same Draco
Malfoy here? ‘Cause last time I checked, you guys were enemies…?” the black boy eyed Harry suspiciously.The Boy-Who-Lived shrugged yet again. Honestly, Harry
had no idea where he and Draco stood; things were too
bizarre and mystifying when it came to the blond haired boy. Malfoy said things to him without even finishing, without
explaining. Did he enjoy leaving him in the dark like this?Well of course he does; this
is Malfoy?Harry sighed loudly. He hated being confused…
~~The raven haired boy seemed
thoughtful for a few minutes when finally, he smiled saying, “Everyone deserves
a second chance, don’t they?”Draco blinked, slightly confused, or merely shocked.
“Five years ago when we first met, you didn’t really
give me much of a choice to dislike you, acting like the spoiled brat you
were-” Draco snorted. “As of late, certain things
have made me think that maybe you’re worth trying to… er…
befriend …” Malfoy only kept blinking further at
Harry. Then, he pushed his elbows off the railing, crossing his arms on his
chest.Can’t you see Potter, I’m not
doing this because I want to, I simply have no choice…-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
